The film begins with a group of soldiers driving an armored vehicle through a rural part of Iraq at night. Second Lieutenant Bart Gregory is at the wheel. He jokingly turns the lights off as he is driving.
Suddenly a small child appears in the road and is run over. Concerned the kid may only be injured, Bart steps out of the vehicle, against the advice of his colleagues, to investigate. He sees the child get to his feet, but is then killed in an ambush.

Be aware: there are spoilers! Next we cut to Bart’s funeral, as his close friend Joey throws a flower down on his coffin in frustration at his loss. Later that night, at the wake, Joey offers his condolences to Bart’s girlfriend Janet.
He also lends her his jacket. Overcome by emotion the two of them begin to kiss passionately and publicly, oblivious to the occasion. Back in the graveyard, there is a stirring sound from within the coffin.
Bart, then breaks his way out of it. He heads for home and is shocked to see the state of himself in the mirror. His skin is pale and decaying, while he has to cut open his mouth which had been sewn up.
There is still very clear evidence of the bullet wound that killed him in his temple. Worried by this bizarre situation, Bart heads over to see Joey. Joey is initially shocked and thinks he is being pranked.
However, eventually he sees Bart and lets him in, albeit while holding a baseball bat to protect himself. As the two of them talk, Bart takes a lug from a bottle of whisky and begins to eat a slice of cold pizza. But this causes him to violently vomit blood, destroying his friend's rug in the process.
In the next scene, Joey escorts Bart to a nearby hospital, where he quickly gets to work weirding out a nurse. She is not only shocked by the stench of his rotting flesh and his pale eyes, but also by the fact he shows her his stitching to prove he’s been embalmed. Soon, though, the police are called, causing Bart and Joey to flee.
Back at Joey’s pad, the rising of the sun sends Bart into a state of unconsciousness. Joey calls over their friend Mathilda to ask for her opinion. She confirms that Bart is indeed dead and suggests that Joey should cut off his head and drive a stake through his heart in order to release his soul.
She also tells Joey that Bart will need to drink blood to survive. Joey passes this information to Bart when he reawakens and the two head off in search of some blood. They arrive at a clinic and a sunglasses sporting Bart enters with a duffle bag.
He is about to steal some blood from a fridge when a nurse intervenes. Bart then pulls an automatic weapon from his back to persuade her to help him, which she does. The two of them then tussle for control of the gun, with Bart’s glasses falling off as they do so This causes the nurse to scream in fear at the sight of his almost entirely white pupils, allowing the former soldier to escape.
The two friends then cruise about town in their car, with Bart sipping on human blood from the stolen bags as they do so. As a result, his skin begins to recover and their spirits pick up. The two of them hit various bars and have a night on the town.
Eventually, however, with the sun rising, Bart passes out once again. As a consequence, his friend has to carry him up a steep set of stairs to his apartment, telling his neighbor he has passed out from drinking. The next day Joey tests whether or not a crucifix and holy water can affect Bart’s disposition.
They don’t, despite Bart feigning extreme pain when handling the latter. The pair then hit the roads again, trying to persuade various homeless men to help them in their hunt for blood. They all refuse.
Bart is clearly struggling and, having swigged from a 40, he ends up vomiting into a bin in a carpark. This alerts a gangster to their presence. He limps over, pretending to be friendly but then pulls a gun on Bart to rob him.
During this scene, Bart is shot in the chest, but clambers to his feet to the shock of the robber who shoots him again. Joey then interjects and knocks out their assailant with a metal bar. They scoop him up and put him in the backseat.
Joey then convinces Bart to try to drink the blood oozing from a wound in the gangster’s head. This he does. They later dispose of the body by dropping it into a river from a bridge, but they question whether or not they used enough rocks to keep the corpse from floating up.
The next day, Mathilda brings Janet to see Bart. She joins him in his bed and the two of them rekindle their romantic relationship. Later the two guys are attempting to buy drinks and snacks at a store in KoreaTown.
The server is acting strangely though and it soon turns out he is being robbed. The man holding up the store intimates he is about to execute both the friends and the store worker, but they begin to argue with him and accuse him of racism. Bart then pulls a gun, which he acquired from the gangster in the carpark, and both he and the robber pull the trigger.
Bart then, of course, recovers. Before he leaves he creeps over to sup on the blood of his victim. The Korean man thanks them for saving his life and the friends head off happy with their work as well as the drugs and money they’ve acquired from the man they killed.
Soon they spot an altercation at a nearby ATM. One man is attempting to rob another at gunpoint. The two take out this robber, before also liberating a young woman being assaulted by two men in an alley.
As a result of their night of action, the two of them make the news, where they are described as the Vigilante Gunslingers. Joey is clearly delighted by this. Their next attempt to disrupt a robbery isn’t quite as successful though.
During this, Joey takes a bullet and as the two drive home he begins to lose consciousness. Bart, however, knows there is an option and begins drinking his friend’s blood. He then carries him home and leaves him in the bathtub, where eventually he reawakens as a vampire as well.
The two friends are now both seemingly unstoppable. They embark on a series of killings, in a continuation of their vigilante work, using the same bridge to repeatedly dispose of their victims. Having seen the news, Mathilda puts two and two together and figures out her friends are behind the spate of deaths.
They, meanwhile, are attempting to take down a gang of aging drug dealers. In the ensuing shootout, they kill all four of them, before realizing they are actually cops. At this point, Mathilda enters the scene.
She threatens to report them to police if they don’t stop, causing Joey to shoot her in the chest, much to the annoyance of Bart. As Mathilda lies dying, we note that with the phone in her hand she has gotten a message away to Janet and possibly also the police. Back in their apartment, Janet reveals her undying love for Bart.
She’s desperate to do all she can to help him and cuts her arm to provide him with blood. Clearly this excites the two of them and they kiss passionately, with him lapping at her wound in between. He then cuts her again, but gets carried away and with the two of them losing control in the process.
Meanwhile, Joey has returned home with a pimped up funeral car that includes two coffins. With their newfound notoriety and fame, he suggests they head to Vegas to continue their work, away from the attentions of their local police force and sleep in the vehicle. It is then that Bart confesses to having killed Janet.
Joey is appalled by this and the friends begin to argue. They pull guns on one another and Joey begins to provoke Bart, by telling him how he slept with Janet after Bart’s funeral. Shots are exchanged, with Joey having the better of the gunfight and armed with the bigger gun.
Then, as he leaves, Bart takes it upon himself to dismember Janet in their kitchen, in order to prevent her from coming back as a vampire. However, as he slings plastic bin bags containing her various body parts from the bridge, he is arrested. Joey is busy elsewhere, driving his wagon around the town trying to pick up girls.
En route, however, he is stopped by a gang and carted away in a van. Then, in a quiet corner of the town he is confronted by the reanimated corpse of the gangster, Miguel, who was the friends’ first kill. He had, we learn, come back to life at the bottom of the river, while being eaten by fish and looks in a considerably worse condition than either Joey or Bart as a result.
Devastated by this occurrence and the fact he knows he’ll scare his daughters to death, Miguel then dismembers Joey using a chainsaw. Bart, meanwhile, wakes up in a bodybag and is able to get away from the police and make it home. He arrives to find a cardboard box containing Joey’s head on his doormat.
. Clearly desperate to be put out of his misery, Bart then takes his best pal’s dismembered head to a building site. The friends make up and make their peace, before Bart drives over the bodiless head with a steamroller, crushing it.
Bart then makes various attempts to take his own life, by shooting himself in the head, through hanging and by jumping in front of a subway train. He only succeeds in dismembering one of his own arms, however. Later, on the train and clutching his still-moving arm, he is approached by a young woman keen to help him.
He attacks her and drinks her blood. When he exits the station, it is surrounded by police who open fire. Unfortunately in doing so they massacre a number of innocent passengers, including those attempting to assist the lady.
Next, we join a group of scientists and army officers discussing a number of the vampire-like people they have collected. These are being held on display in glass tanks, some decapitated, some not. They all, however, show various levels of consciousness.
While the scientists are unable to explain exactly what has happened to the various people being shown, they do recognize Bart as the likely alpha of the group. An army officer notes Bart was in the army and attempts to interact with him. Bart in turn raises the stump of his arm in an effort to salute.
In the final scene of the movie, we find ourselves back in the middle east. An American military plane is dropping crates containing the vampires over Iran. Each drifts to earth attached to a parachute.
The vampires, including Bart then exit them, we assume on a mission to wreak havoc. Like and Subscribe to watch more videos like this, and don’t forget to turn on your notifications. That really helps my channel.
