Hello! Welcome. In this video, I want to show you, how to make this cardigan.
This is the front part. This is the back. I really hope you like it and let's go to video.
I'll start with 86 stitches on the needle. I here already put to advance. I will use the number 3 knitting needle to make the collar.
After I do the eight careers at collar, I'll change the needle to the needle number three and a half (3,5). The first 5 points and the 5 last of all the careers of the body from the cardigan, from the collar to the end of the body of the cardigan, I will do in purl point. I'll always popular.
The first point without doing. Here in this first career, I will do the first point but all the others I I will skip without doing. I'll do 5 purls points to be my edge and here I will do, in the other 76 points of the collar, I will make it in a bar stitch: 1 purl point and 16 are here i'm going to make 1 purl point and 1 knit point for the 76 stitches and I will finish the career with the 5 purls points.
Wrong side I will follow the bar stitch and also make 5 border points on the beginning and end of career. I will do this way 4 careers. In the fifth career, I will come back to show you the buttonhole.
I've done 4 careers point bar. In this fifth career that it will also be a point bar, I'm going to make a buttonhole, here in middle of those 5 edge points. I start by skipping the first point.
I'm going take 2 stitches together in purl point, make 1 loop and make 2 more purls points on that edge of the 5 points. skip the first point, make 2 points together in purl point make a loop and 2 more purl point on that edge. we will make 4 houses in range 9 out of 9 strands.
Every 18 careers we let's make a buttonhole. You can do closer, you can do further away, but they should always keep the same interval as the buttonhole. I'm showing this, when were the next you will remember to put the buttonhole.
And here we go continue with the bar stitch: knitting and 1 knit point for 8 careers. The collar is ready. I will now make a career to pass ribbons.
I'll keep doing my 5 border stitches in purl point, I will change now for needle number 3 ½. I skip the first point, I make 4 more points in purl point. I'll do one stitch in knit point, one loop and 2 together in purl point.
I'll end my career with the knit point and the 5 purls points. In the 10th career, I will do everything in purl point and decrease 1 point. 11th career.
I will keep the 5 edge points and all the other points i will do in knit point. 12th career, wrong side. I will make all in purl point and all careers in the wrong side, even number careers, we are going to in purl point.
13th career. We will continue making the 5 points edge. I will make 1 knit point, 1 loop, 4 purl points: 2, 3, 4, loop, 1 knit point, loop, 4 stitches in purl point: 1, 2, 3, 4.
Let's go slowly. Loop, 1 knit point, loop, 4 points in purl point. From the beginning to the end of career.
We will also end with 1 knit point and the 5 edge stitches in purl point. I will now do the 15th and 17th equal careers. Skip the first, more 4 purl points to the edge.
I make 1 knit point and 6 stitches in purl point: 3, 4, 5, 6. We arrived at that central point, 2 loops. We will do in knit point and 6 more purl points: 3, 4, 5, 6, 1 knit and 6 purls: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 1 knit and 6 purls.
And let's go continue like this until the end, ending the career with 1 knit point and 5 purl points. 19th career: I skip the first, make 4 stitches in purl point to the edges and the whole career I will make in knit point. Arriving at the end, also remember the 5 edge points.
Career number 21: I'll do the 5 edge stitches, 1 knit point, a loop, 6 stitches in purl point, a loop, 1 knit point, 1 loop, 6 stitches in purl point. I will now make the career number 23 and 25 equal. I already have a range of 8 cordons between my buttonhole.
So in this career now, I'm already going to do a new buttonhole. I skip the first, 2 together in purl point, a loop and 2 purl points. Career 23 and 25, I'll do with: 1 knit point and 8 purl points.
Again 1 knit point and 8 purl points. I repeat until the end of my career, where I will end with the knit point and 5 edge purl points. I will do so career number 23 and 25.
Career number 27. 5 edge points and the rest of the career in knit point, ending with 5 edge points. Career number 29.
I'll do the 5 edge, I make 1 knit point, 1 loop, 8 stitches in purl point. 1 loop and 1 knit point, 1 loop, 8 stitches in purl point. Career number 31 and career number 33 are the same.
I'll skip the first and 4 more purl points. Make the first stitch in stocking and I'll do 10 more stitches in knitting: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, do 1 knit point and 10 more purl points. And I will continue like this until the end of my career.
Career number 35. 5 points edge and the whole career in knit point. Career number 37: 5 border points, 1 knit point, 1 loop and 10 stitches in purl point.
1 loop, 1 knit point, loop and 10 stitches in purl point. Loop, 1 knit point, loop and 10 stitches in purl point and we will do so until the end of career. I will do careers 39 and 41 that they are the same.
I skip the first and 4 more in purl point. I do 1 knit point and 12 purl points. 1 knit point and 12 purl points.
1 knit point and 12 purl points, until the end of the career. I'll do the last career of the tab (chest). 5 edge points and the whole career in knit point.
Now let's turn it wrong side, career 44, and in this career we will separate the points of the sleeves we can do it later. we will make the whole body together. I'll do 33 stitches, I will do in purl point.
I will separate 40 stitches for one of the sleeves. I do 62 points, separate 40 more and make 33 points. I will separate on a needle tapestry with wool.
I'll put this light pink wool here which is for her not to stain the white. If I put a darker color, I could stain. This account of these points that I told you, they will give 210 points.
Here we have 206. Within this career, I will have that increase 4 points, That's why the reason I chose to put on this cardigan, make sure the number of points. I skip the first point, all points in purl point and I'll start counting: 3,4, 5,6, 31.
Here I have 31 points. In this mine point 32, I'm going to do 2 points in one. I will make 2 points in purl point before removing the needle.
I'll get here from the back of the stitch and let's make a new point back here. Now there are 33. I'll get the needle and I will pass it to her, 40 points, so I can get these stitches later and make my sleeve: 8, 9, 10, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40 points.
I'll leave it separate. I will separate 64 stitches for the back. Up until I told you 62, but there are 64.
We we are going to make two increases here as well. I'll get the first one, do it, don't take the needle and take it back here and do more a purl point. I already have two, I'm going to count to 64: 3, 4, 5 ,6, 58, 59, 60, 61 y 62 points.
On my point 63, I will also make a increases. I will make 2 points in 1. You can do it the way you want, okay !
? As long as there is no hole. We can not increase with common loops.
I already have 64 points here. I'll separate 40 more points for another order at that place. There are 32 points left.
I need of 33. I will also make an increase on that first point here. What's up I did 2 knit points and I will do the rest 3, 4, 5, 6.
. . I am now in the right of the cardigan.
I'll move to needle number 4 ½. For this cardigan, I will use the cotton stitch. I already know how to do it here on the channel, but for who did not see, I will teach in detail here again.
We will continue with the same 5 edge points, we skipped the first, more 4 purl points. The next point I will do in knit point. 5 edge stitches plus the knit point, I'll do it here at the end too.
I'm going keep the knit point and the 5 edge and I will make the cotton stitch. The cotton stitch is very simple. I'll do the first purl point and skip the next one.
The whole career will be done like this: I make 1 purl point and 1 skip, 1 purl point and 1 skip, 1 purl and 1 skip, until the end the career. I'm coming to the end of my career. 1 purl point, 1 skip and 1 knit point and the 5 purl points.
My wrong side will be all in purl point, skipping the first and the others in purl point. 3rd point career. Same thing in the beginning, 5 stitches in purl point, plus 1 knit point.
Now for the cotton stitch, I'll make 1 knit point and 1 purl point until the end of career and I will end the career with the same knit point and 5 purl points in the previous career. Wrong side, you already know it is in purl point. That next wrong side, will be the 4th career and last career of sequence for that cotton stitch.
We will repeat these 4 careers 10 times; this and 9 more times. 10 times in total to make the body of the cardigan. To finish the 10 strings, there are 40 careers in the total that I made the cardigan body, I will do 6 careers in purl point, 3 complete cordons in purl point.
Here I will do the whole career in purl point. Even that point that I was doing in knit point, on this bar, I'm going to in purl point: right side and wrong side and come back to show you. You can see the 3 cordons already completed.
I will now bind off the body of cardigan, a simple finish, on the right side. I take 2 stitches together, do in purl point, I return the stitch to the needle. I'll get this one along with the next one and take out.
I’m doing it 2 by 2, until I have only one point left. I'll get one of the sleeves and I will redeem the points that I left it separate here. By my side right, I'm going to start from right to left because the first career that I'll do is on the wrong side.
I started to separate the stitches on the wrong side. The sleeves part I didn't make the career wrong side. Then I I'll take it here, from the right to the left.
Remembering that there are 40 points of each sleeve that I left separate here. I already got the stitches. I'm going put the end of the line here at the first point.
I'll go through it and tie a knot, I leave a bigger piece here so that I can hide the thread for inside after ready. I caught with needle three and half(3,5) because it’s thinner and now I’m going to do it with four and a half(4,5). The sleeve I’m going to make four and a half(4,5) and the fist I do again with 3 and a half(3,5).
I will make an increase in the first and the last point of that first career that I'm going to do here. I'll do the first purl point, I'll get the same point back here and make another purl point in the same point. I will make all the other points in purl point and at the last point of the career I will also make an increase in the same point.
On the sleeve I'll also make the stitch cotton and I will leave the first and last point for edges: the first one I will always jump and the last one I’ll always do in knit point, in all careers, right side and wrong side, and I will follow those 4 careers to form the cotton stitch. The wrong side is always purl point. Skip first, I do 1 purl point and skip until the end of career, 1 purl point and skipping, 1 purl point and 1 skip to the end, the last stitch I will do in knit point.
First point I will skip without doing and do the rest of the career in purl point and the last stitch in knit point. First skip point without doing. The 3rd point career I'll start with 1 knit point and then 1purl point and I'll go like this until the end of my career ending with the knit point.
4th and last sequence career to that point. The same thing I skip first, I do all the career in purl point and the last stitch I make in knit point. Here I finished a complete sequence for that drawing.
I will repeat this sequence of 4 careers 9 times in total. I've done one, I'll do 8 more sequences. I will make 9 in total.
I will do it now the last career, is career number 36, than the wrong side of the sleeve. I have 42 points on the needle, I will reduce to 36. I'll skip the first, make 4 points I take 2 together and I do 1 purl point, I do 4 more points, take 2 together and do 1 purl point, for 3 times and we're going to do it 3 more times.
4, 5 and 6 times and then we finish with the last point in the middle. I'll change the needle now, I'll pass again for 3 ½ and I will do in bar stitch: 1 purl point and 1 knit point for 8 careers. I will keep the edge points, skip the first point, start with 1 knit point and 1 purl point and I will end with 1 knit point.
And so I will do for 8 rows and bind off the same way as I finished off the body of the cardigan. We will finish here and make the other sleeve exactly the same. When I finished the sleeve here, I left a well-kept piece of thread to be able to sew with the thread itself that I left here.
I will put in a needle, I take the first stitch here in up and back to the starting point, closing on here. I will now take the points of my border: I will enter the needle with middle point, take on one side and take on the other and so I'll get all the points, sewing along my edge. When you go to do, you will realize exactly where to get the point part.
And so we will sew the entire side and hide the thread at the end. Let's go pass the line in and hide the end of the wire. Here's the cardigan ready.
I I put four pearl buttons and I also put the tape in the tape holder.
