So let's start the story. Let's start with a very old story. There lived a farmer in a small village.
The farmer was very hardworking and honest. He used to work in his fields day and night. He had a horse to take care of his fields.
The farmer's family was very helpful. He had a wife and a son. They all lived happily together and took care of each other.
One day a Buddhist monk came to the village. The monk was a very knowledgeable and calm person. He told the purpose of coming to the village that he has come here to give important knowledge and teachings to the people .
The people of the village were very impressed after listening to the words of the monk. They wanted to know how to live life in the right way and wanted to learn from the monk. The monk explained to everyone that true happiness and peace can only come from within us.
He explained that it is very important for us to understand our desires and internal conflicts and gain control over them if we can properly understand our desires and the voice of our mind. And if we can control them then we can find true peace and happiness. The teachings of the monk brought a very positive change in the lives of the village people.
They started improving their habits and thinking and happiness started coming in their lives. This change brought in their lives. The atmosphere of the village also changed.
People now started feeling more happy and satisfied. It was the evening of a day when the sun was slowly setting and the sky was colored in light red and orange. Farmer Ramu was returning after working hard all day in his field.
Later, as he was returning home, his pace was a little slow because the fatigue of the whole day was clearly visible on his body. As he reached near his home, he saw that his beloved horse, which was the main support of his farming, was nowhere to be seen. Seeing this, there was a stir in Ramu's mind.
Ramu started looking here and there and called out but the horse was nowhere to be found. His horse was not just an animal for him but was the basis of his entire livelihood. He was wondering how he would work in the fields without a horse.
His worry increased further and various questions started rising in his mind, had the horse been stolen, had it got lost in the forest, would it ever come back? Panic and worry entered Ramu's heart and he thought: That he would go to the Buddhist monk of the village and seek advice from him. All the people of the village knew that that monk was very calm and wise.
Listening to his words often solved the confusion in people's mind. Ramu went to the monk and said in a worried tone, Bhante with me. It is very bad that my horse, which used to help me in all my farm work, has suddenly disappeared somewhere.
Now what should I do? Without my horse, it will be very difficult to do farming. This is very bad, isn't it?
The monk asked Ramu. He listened to the whole thing carefully and then with a slight smile on his face he said in a very calm voice. Perhaps Ramu got a little shocked after hearing this reaction of the monk.
He started thinking that maybe the monk did not listen to him properly or he did not understand his problem. Ramu was not able to understand what could be the meaning of maybe. Many questions started rising in Ramu's mind but he did not say anything to the monk.
He went back towards his home thinking about it. The next morning, as soon as Ramu saw that his horse Ramu's happiness was on the seventh sky, now he had not one but eight horses, it was like a dream for him, he thought till tomorrow. I was without a horse and today I have eight horses.
It is really very difficult to understand God's play. Ramu came running again to the monk. This time he had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes.
He proudly said, "Bhante aap" You will not believe that my horse has not only come back but has also brought seven more horses along with it. This is very good. The monk again gave the same calm smile and said, perhaps Ramu got the same answer again, perhaps he got lost in thought.
Why are the monks giving such an answer even after such great news? Now he doesn't have one. In fact, there were eight horses, this was really a big deal, but the monk again gave the same mysterious answer.
Ramu was a little confused, yet he kept trying to understand the monk's words and returned home quietly. Ramu was surprised by the monk's behavior. Unable to understand, he started thinking that perhaps Bhi's words were deeper than what he was able to understand.
Next day, Ramu's son, who was one of the smartest and strongest boys of the village, came to teach one of the new horses. He was ready, he was trying to control the horse but the horse was wild and became uncontrollable. The horse suddenly gave a strong blow due to which Ramu's son fell from the horse.
As soon as he fell, he got a deep injury in his leg and his leg was broken. This news was no less than a tragic accident for Gaya Ramu. Tears welled up in his eyes.
How would the farm work be done without the help of his son? Ramu decided to go to the monk again. This time there was disappointment and sorrow in his voice.
He said to the monk, "My son fell from the new horse and broke his leg. Now he will not be able to help me. This is very bad.
" The monk listened to Ramu's words carefully and kept the same calm smile on his face. Maybe Ramu found the monk's answer even more strange this time. He felt as if the monk was not able to understand his pain and worry.
The breaking of his son's leg was really a big problem. The monk probably told him again and again. This was confusing.
Ramu started wondering whether the monks were taking his problems lightly. The next day there was a commotion in the village. The king's soldiers suddenly stormed into the village.
He ordered all the young boys of the village to be recruited into the army because the state. But the threat of war was looming. All the parents of the village were worried because their sons could be sent to the battlefield where their lives could be in danger.
Ramu was also trembling with fear because his son was going to die in the village. He was one of the fastest and strongest youth. He felt that he too would be recruited in the army.
The soldier examined every youth of the village. When he reached Ramu's house, when he saw Ramu's son, he found that his leg was broken. They could not recruit him in the army so they left him there.
Seeing this, Ramu breathed a sigh of relief. He felt that perhaps his son's leg being broken was the will of God who saved his son from the dangers of war. Now Ramu is happy.
Having no idea, he immediately ran to the monk and said with excitement that the king's soldiers were recruiting all the youth of the village into the army but did not take my son because his leg was broken. This is very good, isn't it? The monk once again replied with a calm smile.
Maybe Ramu now started thinking. Every time something good or bad happened, the monk's answer was always hardly. This time also he heard the same answer but now Ramu realized that maybe Monks look at every incident from a different perspective.
Gradually Ramu started understanding that every incident in life has a different aspect which we cannot understand at the same time. This time Ramu thoughtfully asked the monk, why do you say maybe every time? Don't you understand my problems?
Whenever I share my troubles or happiness with you, you always say hardly. The monk looked at Ramu. There was the same pride and understanding in his eyes.
He said with a light smile, Ramu, I am yours. I understand the problems very well. Sometimes in life we have to face good and bad times.
This is the natural rule of life. The real wisdom is that we accept every situation without any haste. When something bad happens, we We feel sad considering it bad but sometimes the same bad thing can prove to be good for us in future and when something good happens, we become very happy about it but it is not necessary that it always remains good .
Stopping for a while and looking into Ramu's eyes, he said, look, you felt very bad when your horse ran away, but that same horse brought seven more horses for you, then the breaking of your son's leg was sad for you, but that is why that war. Every event in life teaches us something. We cannot immediately know which event is good for us and which is bad.
That's why I always say maybe. It reflects a calm and balanced approach towards life. Ramu listened carefully to the monk's words and now he started to understand that there is a deep meaning behind every event in life which can only be resolved by time.
He took the monk's teachings in his heart and now he can handle every situation. The farmer understood the monk's words deeply and in a low voice Bhante said, you have taught me a very big lesson of life, now I have understood that we should accept every situation with patience and should not lose our balance, no matter how difficult the situation is, we should work with patience and understanding, monk. The farmer nodded contentedly and blessed the farmer affectionately.
The farmer now not only felt his troubles lighter but he was returning home with a new thinking and understanding. He learned that behind every good or bad event in life there is someone. There is no deep meaning hidden in it.
Friends, there are ups and downs in life and we should look at every situation with patience and possibility. Sometimes the events which we consider bad can become the reason for some great blessing for us in the future. By taking decisions, we are not able to see those hidden benefits.
Every event of life comes to teach us something or the other whether it seems bad or good to us at that time, hence we should face every situation with an open heart and calm mind and learn something from it. The chain of events of the universe is very complex and limitless. The story of our life at any time. It does not just end with a happy ending but it keeps moving forward with new ups and downs.
The monk remained silent for a few moments and looked into Ramu's eyes and then slowly said, Look Ramu, when your horse ran away, you thought that this It was very bad but the same horse brought seven more horses for you. Then the breaking of your son's leg was sad for you but because of this he was saved from going to war. Every incident in life has its own time and reason which we immediately understand.
Ca n't understand, that's why I always say maybe. This is the understanding of looking at life from a calm and balanced perspective. Ramu was listening to the monk very carefully.
Now he was realizing that no matter how bad every incident in life is. Even if it seems that there is some deep lesson hidden behind it, only with time we can understand which thing was for our good and which was not. Ramu has settled this deep lesson of the monk in his heart.
Now he is like before. He was not restless at all, rather he had learned to accept the uncertainties of life with a calm mind. He said to the monk, "You have opened my eyes.
Now I have understood that we should accept every situation with patience, no matter what the situation may be. " One should not lose one's balance. The monk nodded with satisfaction and said, "This is the right approach, Ramu.
Whatever comes in life comes to teach us something. If we look at every situation with patience and understanding, we will find true peace and contentment. " Ramu was now going back home with a new thinking and understanding.
He felt lighter and calmer than ever before. He learned that the events in life that seem bad to us are often for our good. Friends , from this story we learn that every moment in life should be accepted with balance and patience.
Sometimes we We immediately consider any incident as good or bad but in the bigger picture of life, every experience comes to teach us something or the other. The biggest lesson of life is that we should face every situation with a calm mind . When we look at every experience as an opportunity, only then we will get real happiness and peace, hence watch the ups and downs of life with patience and possibility because this is the real art of living.
