all right hold on all right fixure mate welcome back to the training ground So today we're going to talk about Stutter Steps what they are how we use them and when are some good situation to use those Stutter Steps so to start Frank can you kind of go into detail on what exactly a stutter step is yep so the stutter steps are type of body faint that maximizes the utilizations of the odd timings so in instead of a constant touch touch Touch where everything stays in a certain patterns of Rhythm we're trying to utilize we're
trying to add a a touch or a step in this case um in between those two constant beats right so instead of taking a step to step now we're utilizing step short short and the step so it's a type of body body faint that uh that shows imbalance to your body to cause a disruption of the body balance um to the defender why would we want to use a stter step yeah the stter steps could be really effective in the game where the situations are really tight right so the Defenders are closing you down really
rapidly you're in a situation where this there is not enough space such as you might be um caught in a corner in a bad situation where the ball must be kept tight so you don't lose the ball so you're not so the ball is not exposed so when the ball's tight then we can utilize the St steps to quickly cause that disruption and then look for the window of opportunity to get out now the player who might be utilizing this technique 2 in perfect 110% out would say even messy right it's a cliche right but
that's the fact he keeps the ball so so tight but it's that stter steps and one two three he does it so well and you can't get near him because he just drops his shoulder really effectively and the steps when as a Defender when you're watching those steps you just don't know which way he might be able to go so not even touching the ball yeah exactly not even touching the ball that's why this technique is a beauty cuz you're not even touching the ball it's it's all in the Rhythm it's only in the steps
it's only in the shoulders so you can always keep the ball tight which um provides you a different opportunities to get out into different um directions right love that so last question for you can you show us how I'll tell you what I'm I think I'm quite decent at this so let's get going let's do it get in there ugly first step is going to be practicing without the bll there's two ways to do it but the first thing is going to be just a simple 1 2 and three one two and three one two
three one and hold right one two hold one two hold one two hold that's it one two hold one two hold one two hold okay now the important thing here is going to be instead of going one two hold one two hold now we want to try and mix up the Rhythm so it's going to be want to hold want to hold want to hold want to hold can you get that a little quicker that's it quick one to want to hold want to hold want to hold want to hold want to hold that's it
want to hold okay you did it really well I'm looking at your right foot and the left foot in this case here right foot here because it's important to keep this almost intact almost touching the ground or touching the ground that's okay why do you think we do that why do we think we leave that trailing leg on the ground cuz that's maybe the ball would be there that's it right because as I make that step if the defender does bite yes I can take that quick touch to get out so even when you're training
without the ball it's so important for you to get in the shape where you're shifting all of your weights on this outside plant leg but that trailing leg or the foot stays on the ground so the next tip is going to be try not to stay narrow get as far as you can because as further you go my shoulder will naturally then drop you still want to keep that foot yeah in contact with the ground do not be trailing right so right now what I just what we just witnessed was step step and coming across
cross this way you are dragging your foot instead can you come can you stay remaining can you remain on the ground but stay as wide as you can that's it okay so that's the first step so that's the first variation and the next one it's going to be from here very lightly gently uh lift up your foot it's one two one two one two it's almost like you skipping skipping but now when you do it push your weight more towards your toes instead of the whole foot so you're Landing quite heavy push your weight more
towards the toes that's it okay so we're going to repeat that one more time again follow after me little gentle light here skip touch right if I push my body weight towards the toes that's going to have my shoulders leaning forward which is going to cause the defender to move and that's the term we call it selling it so again we're going to try it one more time now we go to training with the B it's going to be outside only very small outside touches but we're going to utilize the first steps that we learned
it's going to look like this touch step step big step touch one two 3 touch one two 3 Touch One 2 3 focus on the same weight of the touch and to side Shifting the weight okay here we go make sure to hold on the outside for half a second yeah and hold and hold and hold and hold oh you're going a little too fast and hold okay so the body uh body shape wise was good but I think Rhythm wise I think we can stay a little bit a little bit more consistent in terms
of touch step step hold touch step step hold sometimes you're going a little bit too fast here we go that's it so viewers it's important that you do the right technique slowly and then you can start to speed things up as you can see this is much much better where the first technique is done next training for the next variation part is going to be with the dead bll right so from here foot gently or lightly up and it's skip land outside and come to a pause again repeat foot top want to outside come want
to outside come want to outside push want to outside push so from here if you want to keep it connected right when your when your foot's on top of the ball continue from here one two outside step one two outside step okay slowly first one two out pause one two outside and pause one two oh yep that will happen right so it's important to understand the concept first and then you can try and connect the movements all together so right now we're doing one move and then coming to a full stop and then reset and
then we're on to the next one but as we get better it's going to be want to touch foot on the top of the ball and then continue to do so yes so Frank where would you say is a a good spot for the ball kind of in relation to my frame as I'm going through this yeah so obviously right when you're starting you want to keep the ball about what would you say half a foot away from the ball but again you can k it TI closer to closer than that you can literally be
side to side here and go from here right it's important that when you just when you take those steps that the ball is literally if you're looking down your head is in front of the ball right your chin exactly under my chest under my chin uh whichever term you want to use but that ball should be under me inside of me if I can just sit down can I just literally just go down and pick it up it should be that type of distance and then when you after you you take those steps that bow
should be slightly behind me right so that way I can utilize this trailing leg here to take the touch out and this can be quite effective because when the ball's behind I don't necessarily need to go all the way forward all the time I can come around and protectable I can throw an additional skill to get out and then drop shoulder and get out again again whatever it might be but because the is under me or slightly behind me after you take those steps first and foremost the ball is not exposed right so uh first
step is to keep the ball close to me and after you take the steps ball should be behind you right right so those were absolute basics of uh repetition training just to learn the concept what do you think was that simple enough yeah I feel better already perfect perfect great coaching so subscribe um okay so the next one is going to be how you can apply in the game and we so we'll do some Shadow defending so don't leave a comment saying that defending is right we know that it's Shadow defending I'm not trying to
steal the ball here so different types of scenarios can you go left can you go right can you protect can you can you attract the defender right can you lure provide that bait and then you go right make the defender bite so different types of situations and then we'll go oneone okay all right let's get going come he come [Music] ready yep yep [Music] yeah yeah nice nice nice all right so we just did our little uh Shadow defending with Ben here just taking turns um again you could have noticed some stter steps and different
types of variations next one One V one let's do it we're going to have a go at it should have brought my shin pads going kick the out of [Music] you they oh you Lu he's G out of bounds first oh oh you BST oh that one doesn't count okay yeah oh I you [Music] that f oh oh [Music] you not good is it on the camera sh got me there right everyone next time let's do one on how to defend one one well how to One V one first forget the defending attacking power how
to One V one so either way thanks for watching get practicing because fundamentals is high performance by the way what ugly shirt that is yes wo
