was like huge flashbang open your eyes one guy is rolling around on the ground on fire and my face is burned tonight we are hearing from a man who was rushed to the hospital with Burns to his face after getting caught in an electrical explosion in West Valley City he was one of five contracted electricians in injured in the blast while on the job today one of his colleagues was critically wounded thanks for joining us I'm Dan rascon and I'm Debbie worthan the group was working on a Transformer outside a warehouse this morning when that
incident happened new specialist Brianna Chavez joins us now live with the exclusive interview Brianna yeah Dan and Debbie this electrician as you can imagine is still shaken up after this incident he says he doesn't know why this explosion took place but he is very grateful that paramedics showed up very quickly a frightening incident for a group of electricians we got dispatched on what was dispatched as an electrical explosion explosion Saturday morning this this is the first time in my 23-year career that I've been on something like this that even left firefighters in disbelief there were
some workers working on a electrical Transformer outside of one of the warehouses in our Lake Park District Dax neelon it's just nuts was one of the electricians injured we cut power to the whole building this morning DX says he and other co-workers were working on removing wires that needed to be replaced and I'm sitting there waiting for my buddy to pass me a tool next thing I know just like boom explosion DX says his hat caught on fire I had actually a lot of hair this morning but another coworker suffered serious Burns I see my
buddy's kind of rolling around on fire and we're like trying to Pat him out he was taken to the hospital in critical condition Dax and another cooworker were also taken to the hospital and two other people were treated on scene by paramedics who arrived within minutes Burns and like electrical injuries like this are probably some of the scariest out here so firefighters aren't sure what caused the explosion and neither does Dax was we weren't just messing around we were sitting in there every single person there I look up to I know they know what they're
doing I trust every single one of them Dax says it was a rare occasion he'll never forget something to remember for sure yeah and again Dax says he's grateful for how quickly those paramedics were able to come and help those who were injured including himself he says that this incident though was scary has not persuaded him from giving up his career as an electrician and again the cause of the explosion is still under investigation Debbie wow traumatic for all of those involved Brianna thanks for that story tonight
