What would you do if you knew of the existence of a stone that turns metal into gold and can still make you immortal? Would you have the courage to enter the Paris catacombs that are more than 400 km long and where there are more than 5 million remains? In this video of defeating movies we will follow Scarlett and her group in their search for the philosopher's stone and see if we could make better decisions and defeat On Earth As In Hell.
We starting by following Scarlett an apprentice of Lara Croft who went to iran in search of clues about the philosopher's stone, she is there to enter a cave that is about to be blown up by the iranian army, entering the cave she finds a satanic statue that her father has searched all his life. But she needs to get out of there because the cave will be blown up in a few seconds but when she starts to run away she hears someone calling her name and she sees a person hanging, ok that would be the first sign that you're getting into something you're not should, but she ignores it and manages to get out of the cave before being buried under the rubble. And she even gets a warning from the guy who helped her in, saying that everyone who looks for the stone ends up dying.
. . Well that wasn't enough to make Scarlett give up.
We've advanced a little bit and Scarlet is doing a kind of documentary about her search for the stone, apparently seeing that guy hanging and a satanic statue didn't make her give up on the idea, she ends up doing a lot of things like The Legend of the Lost Treasure and ends up discovering the possible one. stone location. Inside the Paris catacombs, just to contextualize these catacombs are gigantic, with several narrow or flooded corridors , full of bones and many dead ends.
Most of them have their access prohibited and only a few stretches are possible to take a guided tour. Well if it were me and I was looking for this stone and I had already found that statue, seen hallucinations of a dead person and discovered that the stone is inside the paris catacombs where it is forbidden to enter, I would give up and not risk getting lost inside looking for by a supposed philosopher's stone. But from what we've seen Scarlett won't give up easy, she entered a cave in Iran that was about to be blown up so forget it.
She and Benji, her cameraman, decide to go on a reconnaissance tour of the catacombs and she discovers that through that access it would not be possible to reach the philosopher's stone location, so a stranger appears behind them and tells them to look for a guy who knows how to enter the cave. forbidden part of the catacombs, the guide calls the two to return to the tour and the guy disappears. They look away for a few seconds, maybe it would give the guy time to disappear but in the position he was in it would definitely make noise if he tried to run away quickly.
So they decide to look for the guy, I wouldn't trust a stranger who said a random name and just disappeared, it could very well be some kind of scam engineered to pick up tourists. They probably wouldn't get official authorization to dig the catacombs and look for this philosopher's stone because everyone thought Scarlett's father was crazy so the only way would be to sneak in there anyway. The two go in search of this Papillon guy to get help to enter the catacombs through the secret entrances.
As soon as they enter the club this woman appears and faces Benji, what are these people taking in this club? Okay that's weird I wouldn't drink anything all night and I'd be very careful on the way home so I don't get kidnapped by this woman there, goddammit. Scarlett is able to easily convince Papillon to enter the catacombs behind a philosopher's stone saying that she would also have a treasure, but she forgets to mention the part that they may be entering where mythologically the gates to hell are.
And only Scarlet was seeing ghosts while she was looking for the stone so no one suspects that something supernatural could happen. She is probably thinking that the things that happened were just hallucinations and nothing bad will happen in the catacombs and that she too will make a great discovery by finding the philosopher's stone and proving its existence, analyzing it in a rational way, there would be no reason to believe that you really would be entering the gates of hell so there is no point in canceling the quest. But entering a catacomb or any type of underground place is very dangerous, Benji asks what dangers they could face and the guides answer.
I don't know if the camera salary for the documentary is worth taking all that risk. . .
Anyway they decide to go in anyway but I think the group could have come up with a plan and better prepared to enter the Paris catacombs that are literally a labyrinth with more than 400km of dark tunnels, flooded with several bones along the way, it's quite easy to get lost inside. In 2017 two teenagers were lost for 3 days in the catacombs, needing to be rescued by the fire department of paris and people who like to hang out in the catacombs, yes there are people who go there for a rolezinho, they said they were in a very touristy area, so you can imagine how difficult it can be to walk inside. They believe they will only be there for a few hours, but as they are going to look for a part that was made not to be found they could take days to get out of there if something goes wrong.
Equipment I would take waterproof LED flashlights, extra batteries, a first-aid kit, enough water and food for a few days, kerosene lamps in case something happens to the flashlights and also thermal blankets to avoid hypothermia because you will go in and come out of flooded parts several times. Having clothes, boots, gloves, waterproof bags and also goggles would also help a lot when exploring. Having a waterproof suit will help you not to get hypothermia by keeping the clothes on your body dry.
Walking around in wet shoes for several periods of time without a waterproof boot can make you get trench feet which can make it impossible for you to continue walking and you don't want to be trapped inside without being able to move. Also, I would wear clothes used for cave explorations so I would n't end up cutting myself on a bone or the narrow walls of the catacombs . Carry all this in waterproof backpacks because if the ropes get wet they are 50-75% weaker and tend to break more easily on sharp surfaces.
And also take line markers used for exploration so you know how to go back the way you did and also for a search team to be able to find you in case you get lost as you are going to a place that was designed not to be found, it costs nothing. take one of these and start marking the way. Another thing is to talk to everyone in the group to find out if they have any kind of phobia or fear of rats, remains, etc.
Because once you're in there, you're not going to be quick to get out if you have a claustrophobia or something. And another, even if you're going undercover, it's good to warn a friend in case you take too long to return and end up getting stuck in the catacombs. Leave your route and plans with him so you can notify the authorities if you take too long to get back.
Also take a reliable watch, when you're underground you have a different perception of time because you don't know if it's day or night so always check your watch to know how long you've been walking there. Ok I'm no expert in caves but I think their preparation to enter the catacombs is pretty weak. And a rule of the catacombs is not to trust anyone inside unless you really know him very well, I think she doesn't know Papillon that well after all she went to him at a club.
George was arrested once in Turkey because of Scarlett, really, just for that I would never speak to the person again, and Benji pretends he didn't even hear about it. So they decide to enter the catacombs practically ignoring all these recommendations I've talked about and with a bunch of strangers. While George is saying he won't go into the catacombs but he's already at the door the police come jumping on Papillon, I think the police wouldn't arrive that way because it's not a standard approach even though what they're doing is illegal, they'd get a scolding and a fine.
But that makes George make a decision and go in, they run away from the police throwing smoke bombs is not the best idea because it will piss off the cops and they won't look for you later if you need help. So everyone starts in shock the expedition George had a brother who died inside a cave so he didn't want to go in the ideal would be to find the closest exit and let the guy go so he doesn't end up getting in the way and getting in shock for the rest of the trip exploration, but they force the guy to go anyway… Papillon uses graphite as a way to mark where he's been, but I think markers would be much more efficient in this matter. They also chose to go explore the catacombs without the proper clothes, George who didn't want to go in ended up going without boots, now just wait for the trench feet later.
. . Damn what a bad luck meeting that strange woman from the party, I think she stayed happy to see Benji.
That's when having gloves would be a good thing, did these guys think they were going to visit the playground? It's obvious that they would go through this kind of situation going through the forbidden parts of the catacombs, man they should have had a much more elaborate conversation before leaving entering this place lol Scarlet instead of trusting the guide she called, she already wants to go out and take a shortcut To get there faster, man, you can't know more than your guide, you only went there once and it was a guided tour and in the safe part of the catacombs. And if the guy said that his friend known as La Toup or translating THE MOLE entered there 2 years ago and was never seen again, it's because it's not the best idea to go there kkkk Entering as a printed google map won't help you there inside.
At least they decide to follow Pap, obviously someone there had to be claustrophobic, afraid of bones and mice. Relax benji if that girl had looked at me like that I would be scared too. Meanwhile the satanic cult starts singing in the background leaving the guy completely in shock, I believe that's not a good sign, to improve the situation the tunnel collapses as soon as he leaves, this one was close in.
Well now that things start to get weird, they leave in the same place which would be impossible and the only way out is the scary tunnel they didn't want to enter before, now would be the time that having warned a friend would make total sense, their exit route is blocked and your only option is to go to an unknown location. The best way would be to wait there for the rescue after your friend informs the authorities that you are missing. The rescue would only need to follow the markers you left along the way and remove the rubble from the collapsed tunnel.
Mass our Lara Croft decides to venture out and breaks the sealed entrance of the scary tunnel and as soon as they enter things start to get weird, they see a Papillon marking even though he swears he's never been there you can see the guy is talking to he's actually in shock to see that but as you looked for your guide at a club you won't be able to trust the guy 100% right. . .
Manooooo if that's not a sign to walk in the opposite direction and wait to be rescued I don't know anymore what they need, but as they were totally unprepared and no one is going to come to the rescue they need to move on. They talk about some buildings collapsing in that exact spot and hundreds of people died even the people who were sent to fix the place disappeared, man that's not a good sign. Okay, every 10 meters it gets weirder, they find an old piano and they think the piano fell along with the buildings lol good logic, of course the piano would be whole and in that exact corner.
George starts talking about a piano he had when he was a kid and it was exactly like that one and that he and his brother couldn't play a song until the end because the A4 key was faulty. Yeah, things aren't getting any better, guys. Scarlett has the bright idea of moving forward even with all this shit going on and going after the ringing phone even though the phone cords were removed 50 years ago is not the best decision.
They find the phone and it's ringing with no cables plugged in so they should know by now they're dealing with something supernatural. If someone said my name on that phone I would run back to the part that collapsed even if it's without the markers and knowing that no one will find me after that call is more than proven that the gates of hell weren't just a legend. The catacomb, tired of playing with objects, ends up sending Papillon's friend who disappeared to be the group's guide and they don't suspect to find the guy there after being missing for 2 years?
They follow the guy who practically teleports down the path, cough cough ghost, and he says the only way out of there is down, ok well that makes a lot of sense. They decide to go down abseiling, but that's not easy without having some kind of training and proper equipment and without gloves too in this situation the ideal would be to go down one at a time and not several people at the same time, Benji almost kills George in the fall and still hurt his hands, if he was gloved and with proper equipment this certainly wouldn't happen. They continue to have weird experiences like going deaf, a supernatural earthquake, seeing a child's ghost, solving an Egyptian riddle to reveal a secret door.
. . And yet they find a guy in a tomb that hasn't rotted for hundreds of years, ok I was the only one waiting for this guy to get up and take the sword and kill everyone.
Diving without equipment is extremely dangerous, you can get stuck, the tunnel can be too big for you to go just in breath, do they find a secret chamber with treasure and torches? Ok clearly this is a trap who would keep treasure behind a grid and well lit like that? They find the philosopher's stone and meanwhile Papillon and his team try to get to the treasure and end up activating the trap and the ceiling collapses, I don't know how no one has died in this movie yet, these guys are totally unprepared for this situation.
It's at this time that a helmet could help if some small stone fell on your head, but honestly if the whole chamber fell on your head the helmet wouldn't save you. . .
Souxie ends up getting hurt but Scarlett throws a pixie dust on the philosopher's stone on her arm and ends up magically healing the wound. . .
Scarlet solves the riddle that leads to the movie's title and they end up finding another secret passage, has anyone noticed that they are only going lower and lower? By placing the rope on this edge they run the risk of unraveling the rope and causing it to break as someone descends. Reading that you are passing through the gates of hell does not encourage much to go through that entrance, quoting biblical passages while crawling to enter will not calm anyone either.
Okay now you go back to the tomb with the body but this time it's rotten and La Toup is weirder in the background than usual, obviously he's not well, the thing here is just to go through the side just like you would with a clicker from The Last of Us and take that entrance over there and be on your way, they already ditched the guy once, now that he's clearly a ghost is not the time to try to save him. I think pixie dust isn't that strong… But weird things happen like a baby crying and that macabre girl you saw at the club is still chasing you, I wouldn't want to have a stalker like that on. Benji should have stayed home, this guy can't use a rope properly.
He takes a shit from that woman and ends up falling again, but this time there was no one to break the fall and he ends up dying. George sees his brother drowning and tries to save him but he disappears, papi has a meeting with a friend who had a car accident and that he was probably to blame for the death and ends up being sucked into the ground. Every scene that passes I remember more of Dante Inferno.
Even because according to Dante's divine comedy they are going through the 9 circles of hell It seems that everyone who does not repent of their sins is starting to be killed. My god Scarlet looks like a coach man, she just talks about keep moving forward, while clearly the more you get in the worse it gets. They keep walking and end up finding what should be the representation of the capiroto, but him sitting in the chair relaxing wasn't that terrifying, they go on and find stone statues that come to life and bite Jorge's neck, they start to drag him and they try to use the stone again, Scarlett tries to use the stone again Jorge talks about VITRIOL and Scarlett finds out the stone is fake and finds out she needs to rectify the mistake she made she leaves zed to take care of George and starts to go back to the place where they took the stone, honestly i couldn't go back there at all you are literally walking in hell full of supernatural beings and events, how would you be able to remember to retrace the way you came.
Scarlet somehow manages to remember the way and pass the statues, climb the well that benji fell, pass a pool of blood with hands trying to pull her in, sees herself dead and manages to return the stone to its original location. She clears a part of the scriptures and realizes that the stone doesn't physically exist and that the stone's power depends on itself, on her faith in the philosopher's stone and her faith in herself, so she returns and sees her father who had died. and she had seen it in the first caves she visited in iran, she apologizes for not answering his call that night he died and he disappears.
That was her sin and after she apologized she was forgiven. She goes back to Zed and George and she manages to save George by giving him a kiss and proving that the power of the philosopher's stone is now within her. They find one more hole and possibly the last one as they have no more ropes to go down and there is only one alternative to jump.
. . Scarlet says that everyone must repent of their sins before jumping.
Then George talks about his brother who got his leg stuck in a cave and he promised to get help but he drowned before he got back. And Zed confesses that he has a son and went to get a cigarette and never came back, kidding people, but he says he has a son that he knows is his but he doesn't recognize him. They hold hands and literally make an Assassin's creed leap of faith, and they keep falling for a while until they reach the bottom and see an opening that ends up leading to the real world.
They hug and Zed just goes on his way as if he had gone on a normal ride and not gone through the 9 circles of hell and survived. I wonder what Scarlett is going to do with her new powers, or is just finding out that the stone was real enough for her? Tell me in the comments what you think.
So guys this was how to beat the movie on earth as in hell what did you think? If you liked the video, don't forget to like and subscribe to the channel! Until next time!
