because I'm going to give you the top five teams in the NFC this is my power rankings the top five teams in the NFC at number five the Washington commanders I believe that little mini break was all they needed their schedule is good they have a buy this week I think the quarterback between the combination of the ribs and hitting a little bit of a rookie wall got tired I think this late by will help him I think the commanders finished strong I think they are the fifth best team in their arrow is pointing straight
up at number four I'll put the Packers cuz they have to show it to you look at the end of the day I believe in the Packers I pick them to go to the Super Bowl before the year started and if they win tonight they'll be right back on track but they played the Lions and lost they played the Vikings and lost I can't put them any higher than four I can't put them ahead of the Vikings for example who I have at three I am to completely bought in on Sam darnold and I feel
so good for him people ask me all the time greeny does it make you does it hurt you to watch Sam darnold playing so well heck no Sam Darnell deserves this opportunity he's playing out of his mind their defense is multiple and confuses Young quarterback the Vikings are legit at number two get ready to yell at me the Lions jeez dude the Lions have been unbelievable from the very beginning of the season but shefy just ran through all of it for you their defense is depleted no team no matter how good could overcome all of
the losses that team has overcome and the reality is the best team in the NFC the best team in the NFL man for man pound-for-pound plays in Philadelphia their defense is awesome right now the coach of the year in the NFL is Vic fangio I don't care that he's not a head coach if I had a vote I would vote for Vic fangio that defense was an embarrassment last year and all of a sudden it is absolutely dominant with those two kids up front playing defensive tackle and an unbelievably good secondary I have the Eagles
as the best team in the NFL why are you looking at me like that Harry Douglas I think you're crazy right now why am I crazy because when you look at the Detroit Lions number one offensively we know the Juggernaut that they are right they're leading the league or top five in just about every category yeah but when you flip over to the defensive side of the ball I get that the Philadelphia Eagles are top 10 in just about every every category but so are the damn Detroit Lions they're 10th in Total Defense fifth in
run defense second in points allowed and first and third down defense they also are a team that has won 10 games in a row and going for the 11th tonight they have one loss on the season I'm not going to put a team that has two losses on the season ahead of a team that has one loss when we deemed them as the best team the entire year so all of a sudden you're on the NCAA selection committee okay I'll fight back they play the here are the two Los here are the two losses the
Eagles have one of them nobody played I think I was playing offensive skilled for them in that game and the other one saquan Barkley dropped a ball that was directly in his hands otherwise they beat your Atlanta Falcons those are their two losses on the season the Lions last week the the Bears Eber flued themselves out of that game okay the Lions absolutely should have lost at home to Chicago on Thanksgiving if the Bears hadn't Eber flued themselves into Oblivion in one of the most ridiculous games of all time the Lions were dominating everybody they
remind me of the 07 Patriots and then you know what it's hard to maintain that level I've had this conversation team the Eagles Areo Eagles are going like this so if if was a fifth we all be drunk what what do we promote Pat Patron tequila yes P okay so I love tequila so we might as well get all of us a shot in this damn cup because if if was a fifth it all be drunk we can't go back and say if Quan Barkley would have catched that ball they would have one less loss
he dropped it period forget about the ifs let's just talk about the direction and the way the Eagles are playing right that's why greeny is saying they're the number one team and they're going to finish with that first SE because of what they look like on game day the dominance of sequan Barkley rushing for 250 something yards against the Rams that's why he's saying that and I agree with greeny courtesy of hembo okay A little shout out for hembo shout out for hambo what's upo okay okay he's not that good the Eagles are on Pace
right now to Finish First in the league in Total Defense for the first time since 1991 91 he's an Eagles fan when I don't care of the facts when Reggie White Clyde Simmons and Jerome Brown all made first team all proo that year first time the scoring defense is on Pace to finish number since 19 so you're saying first place is better than 10th place when you're talking about numbers and stats they are dominant on that side of the ball Dan look look what Cooper Dee did to Derk Henry the other green and those two
defensive tackles those two kids who yes just blow over that I got it got what is this I have no idea I figed you know okay wait stay focused stay focused like guys don't know they've got an unbelievable secondary they've got those two defensive tackles so Rex Ryan made the point I'll explain it to for the lay person because that's what I am as simply as can be made they are able because their defensive tackles are so good they are able to stop the run without without having to commit extra people so they were able
to play cover two keep those two deep safeties back there and still stop D and stop your running game that's Rex Ryan talking one of the great defensive coaches of all time that's why the Eagles are the best team in the NFL Eagles are a great football team I'm not putting them above the lons the you talk about the Eagles the one Dro saquon Barkley the Lions lost to the Bucks and Jared threw a 100 interceptions in the red zone it was his worst game of the year I know and it was a million years
ago watch the two teams play right now absolutely the eag have absolutely closed the Gap we we know that they're the two clear teams if the Lions said Aiden Hutchinson would you feel the same way they don't but if they do like there there is the thought that if they get to the super he's got to get to the Super Bowl to get I'm aware of that I don't know I mean I'm not taking into consideration the Eagles are so what I'm what I'm saying is open Monday by you were sitting here with me I
said I waited too long to buy into the Eagles I kept talking about their schedule who have they played I don't buy in their coach I said all the wrong things I was completely wrong here's my push back the the one flaw that the Eagles have shown throughout this even the wi streak the slow start okay it happened again last week now they didn't get hurt by it and that's a credit to them I thought the punt by serani in the second quarter was brilliant we'll get into that that being said I don't think you
can start slow against the Lions because I don't think the lions are going to start slow I would have said that about the Ravens yes but Lamar didn't play well that that's the one flaw the Eagles if they get start slow and the other team doesn't that if you catch the other team's aame and the Eagles start slow they're going to get got because then you can't play to that style defensively they're both great teams I I I think I think the Eagles have really enjoyed having the spotlight on the Detroit Lions for most of
the year I think that they've been doing their work in the background watching everybody talk about the Detroit Lions and how great they are and how they're going to be hosting their first championship game since December of 1957 and they've just been stacking up wins and they keep stacking up wins and they're so do the Lions they're getting healthier now and the lions are losing players here's the deal a month ago a month ago we weren't talking about the Eagles in this light correct a month ago we were talking about whether the Eagles coach was
going to get fired a month ago we were not talking about the Eagles this way a month later we are one month from now we don't know where the conversation will still be there's still a lot of time we're going until week 14 these two teams are duking it out for the home seat again I want to point out the Lions have that game on Deck next week against the Buffalo Bills the Lions have a much harder schedule well could what that game could help determine the number one seed in each both confence and I'll
give you this if you took these two teams and you tried to figure out like who's got the advantage unit versus unit Lions offense Eagles defense I don't have a clear Advantage for either team other than AJ Brown I do not believe that Detroit could just line up and play Man coverage and they have a human being that can cover AJ Brown so with all this arguing what the if there was one advantage in that game or in that matchup it's AJ Brown he would be the person that would be the Difference Maker listen the
the problem with having these conversations is that in order to support one side it sounds like you're diminishing the other the lions are awesome the Lions have a variety of other issues though the Lions have their own division to worry about the Eagles have no concerns in their division they're going to win all of their division games probably somewhat easily they're going to cruise through the rest of their season the Lions have Minnesota sitting half a game or one game behind them in the Lost column and when they played each other the Lions W on
a field goal with 15 seconds left they had a 10-point lead with like eight minutes to go let's not let's not make that game close by by the way we're doing a whole segment here on the Eagles and lions a collision course they could be on and the Green Bay Packers are sitting in their hotel room saying hold on hold on why we might have a say about this four behind Minnesota well I mean they lost to Minnesota I need to see it they need to prove it they were my Super Bowl pick before the
season I'm not giving up on them I like Green Bay a lot but they need to show it they need to win one of these I agree but I would tell you that I think they're playing better football than the Vikings are I think I still think the Vikings are a really good team I think I think when you look at Minnesota and you look at Green Bay especially personnel and and where these teams project I believe Green Bay is going to be the better team when it's all said and done I would also ask
y'all about number five how do y'all feel about Seattle and what they show lately in their last three games defensively you good team I like the Rams in the division I I I I think that the E the the Eagles and the three teams in the north are the four best teams and and and they'll figure it out in some order they sound off let's hear from some interesting people saying interesting things starting with Aaron roders talking about his future with the Jets I just redid my house here in Jersey so my goal was to
play a few more years here but um we'll see I'd like to be healthy i' like the end of my feet and then I'd like to play well and i' like uh you know to feel like I'm wanted back if not you know that's again I will not be offended I won't be upset you know they want me to stay uh fantastic um if if it takes these five games maybe they don't know what I bring to the table um but that being said I'd love to play really freaking well the last five games okay
so he's going to start the last five games is is the plan here so let let's start with the news piece of this I mean to whatever degree decisions have been made they don't know who the coach is going to be they don't know who the general manager I know we keep talking about Aon Rogers future but both sides have so much to sift through it's fun to talk about it's great conversation but what are we doing like the Jets don't know who their GM is going to be they don't know who their head coach
going to be this guy hasn't made a decision about whether or not he wants to play we keep talking about it it's fun great I mean you would have to think the chance Sor is not going to be back they're going to have a new regime there he's another year older signs point to him not being back but who knows how this is going to play out Aaron Rogers is a Hall of Famer if he decides to play next year it would have to be in a different offense I do not believe that the offense
that he likes to play in can win a Super Bowl is do you believe that there is a team out there any team in the NFL any coach any general manager that will look at their quarterback situation and say the answer the solution here is Aaron Rogers who at some point next year will turn 42 years old coming off here here's how I look at this thing right everyone that all the Jet fans are they mad at I'm not mad at Rogers at all I think he came with the best of intentions I think he
tried he he he had two things happen neither of which is his fault one he got older which happens to athletes Tom Brady gave us this ridiculous impression that you can play like that till you're 45 he's one of one two he suffered the worst injury that an that an athlete can suffer and neither one of those are his fault but he's just not the same guy anymore that's clear the athlete is you the great athlete is usually the last one to recognize that so I understand it but the reality is I don't see any
team in the NFL looking at it and saying the solution to my problem is I'm going to bring in Aaron Rogers and we're going to win the Super bowl next year personwise is the biggest question for me thing is does does Aaron Rogers want to be a bridge quarterback cuz for a team you're like you're talking about if you're going to bring an Aaron Rogers in you're also you have to bring somebody in that's going to be his replacement right away so for Rogers do you want to go to a situation where a team is
saying you know what we're going to draft our next quarterback but we want to bring you in to teach him I can't I think that's the only situation for Aaron Rogers in my opinion because being a bridg quarterback for a team that has drafted a Young quarterback or looking in that direction I don't see him uh or foresee him being a guy that's going to play two or three years for an organization and get Aaron ain't being a bridge quarterb that's what I what what organization is sitting out there we are waiting we are waiting
for the Jets to move off from our Riders so we could bring him in here and build our team around him I don't think that's happen Nei he need what what he would need if he wants to continue playing is a team that thinks they are where the Jets thought they were two years ago bring in a veteran quarterback and we're going to win the championship I don't think he's it doesn't have to be called a bridge but let's just say I'm making up hypothetical Sam darnold leaves Minnesota JJ McCarthy is still recovering from his
ACL let's bring in Aaron Rogers until we know that JJ's healthy that's an example Matthew Stafford decides to retire the Rams draft a quarterback but you know what let's bring in Aaron roders right now cuz we think we could win it's going to take a situation like C that you imagine going to Minnesota well I'm just giving ex know I'm just saying like that would be Brad farre triangle those two places wouldn't work because Aaron Rogers doesn't like motion he doesn't like shifting and both of those teams do what Dio motion and shift that's all
they do he won backtack MVPs in that offense with Matt lefur though he didn't like it but he play let say this though they weren't full fledged in Matt lafl offense when Aaron Rogers was there either that was the discourse between those two coach in in in quarterback we'll see what happens with him so that's the veteran quarterback let's go to the Young quarterback our next sound off Chicago the Bears preparing for their next game with Thomas Brown calling plays for the offense but their first in which he is also the head coach here's Caleb
Williams on his situation I will say that you know it's not easy uh to keep going and uh roll with the punches and you know keep fighting and things like that but you have to do it um it's it's part of it and I wouldn't say that it would affect my development I think uh this is a a step in stone of development you know to be able to have all of this um in my first year I wouldn't say that I'm happy for it but you know um having these moments is definitely something that
will help me in the future Dan all of the adversity that has been around him and this team in his rookie season will it in the long run help Caleb Williams absolutely in the last three weeks he's a top three quarterback in the NFL qbr wise he's ran 14 times for 118 117 yards so we're seeing a better player I think as long as they get the right person head coach wise in that organization to steer the next I guess version of his NFL career absolutely I think that Caleb's got a you know um a
roote Awakening into the NFL of what reality is like and at at some point you can get hardened to it and become better because of it because you become unflappable in the like the the face of adversity yeah it'll be better for him that they bring the right person in but going through everything he's gone through this year no like I didn't draft a guy first overall to fire the head coach bring in a new offensive coordinator that we just brought in to teach him when we drafted him so yes did them getting the right
person is going to help him but going through all of this do I think that was the best thing for Caleb absolutely but it is the Bear's way it is the Bear's way draft a quarterback and fire the coach but it doesn't have to be disaster though I we I feel like we're framing it as well Caleb Williams career in Chicago's done he's going to stink as a player I I I often try to remind people Jared goff's rookie year was God awful with the ring Shawn McVey entered all of a sudden Jared GF became
an MVP candidate quarterback an NFC Championship quarterback a Super Bowl um a Super Bowl at least playing quarterback that can happen in Chicago just be and everyone's saying Ryan poles Ryan poles wasn't the guy that like fired Matt naggie and fired John Fox he's moved on from in ebra flu yes we don't have to say that Ryan poles is a part of the terrible front office in the history of the Chicago Bears as well let's give him a chance to write this ship let's give him another year here to see if they can get the
right coach for Caleb Williams and see what it looks like over the last 5 weeks and into next season before we sit here and go fire everybody disaster it's the same old bears
