Hello friends and neighbors. Dr. Ken Barry here with you hanging out for the next hour or so to answer your questions about a proper human diet, about nutrition, about nutrients, about medicine, about medications, about medical conditions. Uh, as you know, I've got over 1500 videos on my YouTube channel. And if you you don't have to watch them all, you can just go to YouTube and type Dr. and then whatever medical condition you have a question about and if I've made a video it'll pop up and I probably have because I've made lots of videos on
that channel. Now, if you have a question for me, type it into the comment space. Keep it as short as you can uh and I will answer your question. Now, this is not medical advice. I am a boardcertified licensed doctor in the United States. But today, I'm not your doctor. I'm just Answering general information questions. So, if you have a question, now is the time to ask. We got people watching from all over the world. Here's New Zealand, San Francisco, Arizona, here's Texas. Tell me in the comments where you're watching from. What city? What state?
What country? Where are you at? Here's Wisconsin. Here's New Zealand. Wow. Here's Adelaide, Of course, New Jersey, North Carolina in the house. Excellent. Excellent. So, if you have a friend who always misses me when I'm live, send him a text or a direct message right now. Say, "Hey, he's live." Get on there and ask a question. Also, you're welcome to share this video on your favorite social media. There's a button right down there. It says share. Click it. Then you can click Facebook or Instagram Or Twitter, wherever you want to share it to and you
can share it because many of you would probably agree, yeah, somebody shared a video and I watched it and then I adopted either a low carb or ketogenic or a ketoore or carnivore diet and it transformed my health. If they hadn't shared that video on Facebook or wherever, I'd still be fat. type two diabetic with fatty liver, metabolic syndrome, fat ankles, psoriasis, dandruff, toenail fungus. But Since your friend shared that on their favorite social media, now you know about a proper human diet. So please, it takes a second, share this video so that I can
help new people who have never heard the good news that many of the chronic diseases they suffer from and they think are permanent and lifelong are in fact not permanent and lifelong. They can reverse them with your help and my help and a little bit of investigation and a little bit of Willpower and stamina. They can no longer be a type two diabetic, no longer have dangerously high blood pressure. You have the power to do that with the click of a single button. It's kind of cool. Kind of cool, right? All right. Here's a question
from Christopher. How much beef and chicken liver should I eat a week? Uh, listen to your body, Christopher. Especially if you love liver. Uh there is a tiny Minuscule chance that you might eat too much liver and get your vitamin A levels too high. This it looks like about a one in a million chance. And it's going to it's going to happen in people who want eat a pound of liver a day every single day. They might develop a vitamin A level that's too high. There's never been a documented case report of this. I've never
seen a case study where somebody ate too much chicken liver or beef liver or pork liver, duck liver, Goose liver, quail liver, um any domesticated animal liver and develop vitamin hypervitaminosis A or vitamin A toxicity. There's not a single case report of that. Now, people take vitamin A supplements, there's many case reports of them developing dangerously high levels of vitamin A, but not from eating liver. So I recommend everyone get eat 2 to four ounces two to three times a week of some kind of liver. It can be cod liver, Chicken liver, calf liver, goose,
uh chicken. It can be any kind of liver, okay? The liver from any mammal. Don't eat carnivores livers, right? So don't eat mountain lion liver or polar bear liver, grizzly bear, black bear, brown bear liver. They're going to be too high in vitamin A. But domesticated livers that you could buy at a store, it's safe. You can eat it as m often as you want. Okay? Just don't eat a pound a day every day For months and months. Ah, here's a question from S Divine. I have chronic pain from nerve damage and endometriosis. I want
to stop taking pain relievers, but the pain will get too overwhelming even on carnivore. Maybe, especially if you stop the pain meds cold turkey. Do not do that. I don't recommend that at all. That can actually be dangerous depending on which ones you're taking. What you're going to have to do as divine is you're going to Have to very slowly wean down the pain relievers. As you very slowly but surely wean down the carbohydrates and increase the amount of fatty red meat, egg yolks, cod liver, uh chicken liver, other carnivore foods and just slowly increase
those as you cut the carbs and then very slowly be decreasing because for anybody with chronic pain, at least some degree of the pain is from chronic inappropriate inflammation. I'm not saying all the pain, some of the Pain. So, you're going to be able to reduce your pain medications to at least some degree. Maybe 10%, maybe 50%, maybe even more. But any little bit that you're able to reduce your pain medication, that's going to be a victory for you. Okay? Because the more you take, the higher the risk of side effects, the higher the risk
of dependency, the harder it is going to be to ever come off them. So, any little bit of decrease you can do, uh, do that. But do it very slowly. Also, keep in mind that many people try to decrease their pain meds too quickly and they have rebound pain. And that's not necessarily because they need the pain medicine. It's because they're habituated to it. We could say addicted to it, but habituated means that you have a physiological dependency. It's not psychological. your body's gotten used to that and so maybe it's downregulated endorphins and Other pain
relieving things that your body naturally makes. So if you cut down the pain meds too quickly, you're going to have rebound. And a lot of people if they take Tylenol or ibuprofen every single day for headache or sinus or something, if they stop that cold turkey, they'll have a terrible headache. And for many people that don't know better, they'll be like, "See, I need this every day." It's not what it means. It means you're having a rebound Headache because you stopped it. First of all, you took it too long and then you stopped it too
abruptly. So, you need to wean that down slowly so you don't have that rebound headache. Uh, US Patriot says, "Why do I have carb cravings after workout days?" So, and it's a great question. So, here's the thing. People who used to be smokers, used to be alcoholics, used to be drug addicts, if they work out very hard, they will notice very often that they Have a little bit of that craving, a little bit of the monkey gets back on the shoulder a little bit. Why is that? It's same thing for carbohydrates, which break down into
sugar and sugar addiction is a very real thing. As us Patriot will tell you, anytime you stress your system, including working out, working out is a stress on your body. It's a good stress, but it's a stress nonetheless. And so, anybody who was Previously addicted to some substance, whether nicotine, alcohol, or something else, or sugar, if they lose a couple of nights of sleep, if they're under a ton of stress at work, if they're having huge fights at their in their home, if they work out super heavy, if they if they fast for a long
period of time, those are all stressors. you could notice that, oh my gosh, I I I'm having sugar craving or nicotine or alcohol because sugar is addictive just Like those other substances. Joanna says, "Don't forget to hit that thumb button." Yeah, please hit the thumbs up or the heart button. Uh if you haven't already, tell me where you're from. Leave a comment. You don't have to ask a question. You can just say, "Hey, I'm I'm from wherever." That tells the algorithm that this is important stuff that people need to pay attention to this. And then
obviously if you share this, new people could see it who've Never heard this message before. Robert says, "Is cacao a good substitute for coffee?" Yeah, it's not a bad substitute. It's not going to have probably as much caffeine, but it is very rich in the polyphenols, the, you know, the phytonutrients that people talk about, the antioxidants. Uh but it's also rich in oxalates as well and other anti- anti-nutrients. And so uh if you don't if you're not having any problem with coffee, I think Coffee is fine. Human beings have been drinking caffeine either in tea
or coffee for about somewhere between six and 8,000 years. We've been doing it for a long time now. That doesn't mean that we've evolved to the point where 100% of us can drink coffee just fine. Most people can drink a cup or two of coffee a day and not have any inflammatory response that they can notice at all. Same for cacao, hot cocoa. You just don't want to have put any sugar in it At all. Right. It's going to be very bitter. Slightly chocolate, but very bitter. But yeah, that's fine. But if it's got sugar
in it, come on. Yeah. Don't be putting sugar in your coffee. Don't put sugar in your cacao. Uh drink it like it was meant to be drank. Like our ancestors drdt it. They drink it black. But I think carnivore, carnivore people, keto people, low carb people, paleo people, primal people, you can drink Coffee. Coffee is fine for the vast majority of people. Now, if you think that coffee is causing inflammation or causing gut issues, stop it for a month and then start it back. Then stop it for a month, start it back, and see if
you notice any difference. If you're eating a proper human diet and you've lowered the levels of inflammation in your body, you'll be able to tell, oh yeah, man, when I started the coffee back, immediately I noticed fill in the blank. And then therefore, you may be one of the small percentage of people that should avoid coffee altogether. But I think most people can drink it just fine. All right. Oh, um, Jody said, "Great job on animal." That's the new carnivore documentary. Uh, if you haven't heard about this yet, there's it's a brand new carnivore documentary
called Animal that is now available on YouTube, on Amazon, on Apple TV, I think Paramount, and maybe several other places in the United States. Now, it's going to be another week or two. If you're in another country besides the US, it'll be a week or two before it's available in your country, but it's available right now in the United States. You can watch it this evening. And for a minute there, I don't know if it still is. I haven't checked the stats, but for a minute, it was the number one new documentary in the United
States. Has anybody else seen the animal documentary or do you have it on your wa to to watch list coming up? Uh, I know for sure you can watch it on Amazon. 100% know that. I'm pretty sure you can watch it on YouTube, Apple TV, and Paramount. Has anybody watched it anywhere else? They're like, "Oh, you can watch it on this platform as well." Theo is going to be watching it shortly. Good deal. Good deal. Uh yeah, in the UK, in the EU, Australia, New Zealand, And Nordic countries, it's going to be another week or
two, maybe three weeks, but it's going to be it's coming to YouTube. You just can't watch it today. And it Andrew said he couldn't find it on YouTube. I looked. I couldn't find it either, but I was told by the producer director that it is on YouTube. Now, you can't watch it for free on YouTube. It's going to be like, I don't know, $4.99, $6.99 something. Uh, but it it it either is on YouTube right now and it's hard to Find. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the algorithm were burying that because they don't
approve of that. That wouldn't surprise me. Uh, Pette says it is on YouTube. She found it on YouTube. Okay, there you go. And I trust Coach Pette. She's one of the coaches in our private community. And oh, let me tell you this. As soon as I'm done with this live, I'm going to go live in our private community. I'm flying out uh I'm going to Idaho tomorrow to speak at a Homesteaders regenerative ranching conference in Idaho. And so I'll be out of pocket. Typically, I do four extra live Q&As's in our private community each and
every week, but we're going to have to reschedu everything this week because I'm going to be on an airplane. Uh, but I'm going I'm going to do a popin live in the private community. So, if you don't get your question answered here today, just jump over to the private community. I'll Put the little address up. It's phdalth.com community and sign up. and I'll be 10 minutes after I end this live at the top of the hour, I'll be live in the private community. Instead of uh 1,900 people asking questions, there'll be two or 300 and
so I'll be able to get to your question. So, just keep that in mind if that's something you're interested in. Wendy's going to watch Animal Tonight. It's on Lisa's watch list. Excellent. Excellent. I love it. Oh, okay. Here's a great question from Angelo. Can I train to run a 10 10K uh race on a keto diet? 100% Angelo. Now, here's what you don't want to do because it takes especially athletes, it takes anywhere from three weeks to three months to get fully keto adapted so that you can burn your own fat when you're running instead
of having to do the gels and the sugar drinks. You want to be training while eating Keto for at least a month before the event. Really, you need longer than that just to be safe because some people convert to to being in ketosis and and being keto adapted very quickly within a few days. Other people, it it can take a month or two. And so, yeah, just keep cutting the carbs and bumping up the fat. Keep training really hard and you'll feel it. You'll know when you're keto adapted. you'll be like, "Oh man, it's like
I got a second wind and I Don't need that sugar gel or the sugar drink. I can just keep on running because now you're burning your body stored fat." And even for the thinnest runner, the thinnest 10k runner, you still you still got 10 15% body fat. Uh so if you weighed, you know, 200 pounds, you you got 20 pounds of fat at least on your body. You could run for a week on that 20 pounds of fat. Okay? So, but you can't you don't want to say, "Okay, the day before the race, I'm gonna
go keto." Don't do that. You won't be keto adapted for the race. Does that make sense? But we there are many many people out there who bodybuild keto or even carnivore who who do long distance races. My good sh friend friend Michelle Hearn who's a registered dietician. Uh I think her handle is run eat. Michelle Hearn hurn. She's very active on Twitter and Instagram. She's a long distance runner. I'm talking 20, 30, 40, 50 miles. She's Carnivore, which is carnivore is keto. Okay, carnivore is zero carb. Whereas keto is just very low carb. She's running
on very, very, very low carb and she's winning races all the time for her age group. Very fit. Very fit. And she, I mean, she's very fit. But she still is probably carrying 10 or 15 pounds of fat. Even being very like she's so fit, you can see the uh vascule, her little her veins in her abdominal muscles. That's how fit she is. But I guarantee you, if you did a good body scan, she's still got 10 or 15 pounds of fat. And that's what she burns when she's running. She runs on that fat. She
never uses the sugar drinks or the gels when she's com when she's running 30 40 miles. So, if anybody says, "Oh, you can't do endurance or long distance or build muscles." Uh, keto savage, my good friend Robert Sykes. He's keto and almost carnivore and he Wins natural bodybuilding uh titles all the time. He's not on the juice, right? He's not on the the all the the hormones and testosterone and steroids. And so, he does it naturally. And I mean, dude is jacked up muscularly. Okay, so don't tell me you can't do that. Ah, here's a
good question from Crash. Is four eggs a day too much? Are you getting into the danger zone if You're eating four eggs a day? No. No, you're not even close. Okay. As long as you're eating under 100 eggs a day, you are 100% safe. And I just made up the 100 number. You could eat 100 if you want to. There's nothing about eggs that's dangerous. Eggs are full of vitamins and minerals, full of fatty acids and amino acids, all of which you need. You need all those every day. It is the eggs do contain cholesterol.
But the American Heart Association back in 2015 said that eating cholesterol is irrelevant. It's there's no concern with that. They said that that's a decade ago. Yeah, it's been a decade, but I guarantee you there's still vegan cardiologists out there who say, "Oh, don't eat too eat too much cholesterol." Well, if it were really dangerous, don't you think the American Heart Association would say, "Hey, because they used to say, don't eat more than 300 milligrams Of cholesterol a day." That's why a lot of people avoided shrimp and egg yolks. They would eat egg white omelets
because of the cholesterol. They stopped saying that 10 years ago. Yet there's still doctors repeating this echo of the lie even though it's not even true anymore. Never was true, but they said it was true. Now they don't even say it. American Heart Association says eat all the cholesterol you want. It's irrelevant. Interesting, right? How we're told these things and then when you look into it, you're like, uh, what are you basing that on, dude? The AHA stopped saying that in 2015. Why are you still saying that? And they'll always waffle and say, "Well, I
mean, you know, just to be safe, why? Where's the evidence? Where's the research you're basing that on? If I eat 50,000 milligrams of cholesterol a day, if I eat a 100 eggs a day, what will that do?" Nothing. Nothing. It'll Just make you healthier and happier. So, you're going to eat as many eggs as makes you comfortably stuffed crash. Whether that's four, six, eight, 10, 12. You eat eggs until you're like, "Oh, man. I'm stuffed. I couldn't eat another bite. Then stop eating eggs until the next meal. That's how you do that. Hey Penny, how's
it going? Good to see you. Now, if you got a question for me, now is the time to type it in. If you've already typed it in, it may have Scrolled by. Type it in again. Keep it short and I'm going to try to answer your question. Here's Anna. I have Cushings disease. I'm down over 200 pounds, but my cortisol is making it hard. Any suggestions? Anna's lost 200 pounds and she's worried that she's not doing good enough. Of course, your corre chole your cortisol levels with having Cushings disease is going to make it harder
for you to lose weight, but you've already Already established a very successful track record and a just keep doing what you're doing. What's going to happen is your weight loss is going to be slower. Just like for menopausal women that their hormones are fluctuating and messed up. The weight loss is going to be slower. Yes, it is nothing you can do about that. But it I didn't say you couldn't lose weight. It's just going to be slower. Yeah, but you're absolutely you'll keep losing the Fat if you've got more fat to lose. Savage Deal says
eating 100 eggs a day would just make you poor. just make you broke. Yeah, that's that's kind of true because they're pretty expensive. They they have gotten cheaper, right? But not back to pre um pre-loss. Uh yeah, here's Jacob. Any thoughts on Erish Danlo syndrome? We actually have two people with uh EDS in our private community who have noticed that their Their hypermobility is much less severe. And Dr. Shawn Baker and I have actually talked about this. He's a carnivore orthopedic surgeon. Uh he's got several people in his group as well with EDS who've noticed
that they just don't sublux as much anymore. They don't let dislocate as much anymore. They don't have sprains and strains and and twists anymore like they used to. It's like when you when the when your ligaments and tendons are fed a proper human diet, It's like they kind of go back closer to the length they should be and they're not nearly as hyper mobile. Now, I'm not saying that it's going to cure your EDS, but if you had if you if you had joint subluxations 70% less commonly than you currently do, Jacob, wouldn't that be
awesome? Right? You had one or two a year and instead of, you know, seven or 10 a year, wouldn't that be awesome? And we we've got uh at least two people with EDS in Our private community who report that. Absolutely is the truth. William has got a a good question and I've got a great answer for you William because I have actually treated eocinophilic esophagitis with keto and carnivore multiple times. This is one of the very one of the first cases a good friend of mine who lives in Jackson, Tennessee, I guess he still lives
there. Um he came to me and he had had eosinophilic esophagitis Uh for years and had taken a a proton pump inhibitor. I think he took previsid but it could also be nexium or prylok or one of the others. And he was like uh how what can I do? I was like I want you to try this diet. This is back when I was just learning about it. I was like I want you to try this for a month. I'll refill your previsit but I want you to try meat heavy keto for a month. And
now when I say keto, you have to know this. I don't mean keto bread and keto cake And keto cookies and keto shakes and keto bars. I mean fatty meat, eggs with the yolk, and low carb vegetables, a few low carb nuts, and a few berries. That's keto. Real whole food. Okay. He he he and so we text we we were friends. About a month later, he text me. He's like, "Dude, my symptoms, I don't have any heartburn reflux at all. And I just feel better overall. Do I have to wait six months to come
back in to repeat the lab work? Because we had checked his CBC and His eosinaphil count was very high. And I was like, "No, you don't have to, you know, you don't have to waste a copay and come see me. Just pop in and tell the lab tech. I'll leave a note with her and just get your CBC checked." And he it was about a month and a half after he started meat heavy keto, real whole food keto. And when I got his lab results back, his eosinaphils were normal. And I called him. I'm like,
dude. Uh, your eosinaphil Count is normal. He's like, that can't be right. And so I had to take a picture of it, send it to him. He's like, that has that hasn't happened in 20 years. My eosinaphils are always high. How did the diet do this? And I had to admit to him, honestly, at that point, uh, I have no idea. I do not know how it did it. I just thought it might. And so now after years of researching this and thinking about it and discussing it with other experts, what he did was he
lowered the Chronic inappropriate inflammation all over his body, but especially in his esophagus. And it allowed his white blood cell counts to just all go back to normal because they they were his eosinaphils were falsely fighting this inflammation when they didn't need to be and then also causing problems. But when he adopted and stuck to a proper human diet, that went away. So 100% William, your six-year-old grandson, he doesn't have to be a 100% Carnivore. He can be meattheavy keto or he can be ketoore. And I've got YouTube videos on all those if you don't
know what that means. And then just have him recheck his CBC. And he can take something temporarily, but not the steroids. Don't start the steroids unless he's in severe severe pain. If he's having severe symptoms, he may need a low dose, short round of steroids to calm everything down, but just have him recheck his complete blood Count every three months with differential so we can see the eosinaphils and you'll see his eosinaphil count coming right on down. Now, if if your if your grandson's like, I just want to eat meat and eggs 100%. Do it.
you. And so the way you're going to get all the vitamins and minerals that he will be missing, that's what everybody thinks in carnivore is you're going to take a pound of chicken livers and three pounds of ground beef because I know your grandson likes hamburgers. And you're going to grind up the chicken livers and you're going to mix a pound of chicken livers with the three pounds of ground beef. And if you have to mix it up by hand or if you if you've got a meat grinder, just put it through there. And now
he's eating what we call paleo burgers because not only does it is it ground beef, it's also got ground liver in there. But it's chicken liver which is one of the mildest livers. So it's It's the hamburgers now will be full of vitamins and minerals and he will not be able to taste the liver. So he's getting all the vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, amino acids. His body needs to grow. His brain needs to grow and he'll have normal eosinaphil count and won't have any of the symptoms. Give it a try. Follow up with your doctor
for sure. Uh, but try that diet for 90 days and then have him recheck his eosinaphil level. I think You'll be very happy you did that. Uh, you know what? Here, where did that go? Yes, from Tom Baker. Tom Baker says, "I wish kids would never get sick." Now, I do too, Tom. Now, kids are going to catch viruses. They're just going to do that. They're they're going to catch the viruses anytime they're around other people. They have to do that to build up their immunity. But there should be no child In modern society that
has fatty liver disease. That's 100% diet caused. The diet caused that. There should not be a single child who has type two diabetes. That is 100% caused by diets. There should not be a single child that has metabolic syndrome, severe obesity, severe hypertension. None of these things should happen to children to five, 10, 15 year old children. That Shouldn't happen. Now, I agree with you. I wish I wish there was not a kid in the world who had to suffer from those chronic diseases. Those are diseases of adults who've mistreated their body. that should not
be diseases of children. Totally agree with you. The way we're going to fix that is we're going to spread the the message. The good news of a proper human diet and its ability to reverse those things. So, If any of you guys know a kid, a a child or a teenager who has fatty liver, type two diabetes, or pre-diabetes, uh, obesity or severe obesity, metabolic syndrome, hypertension as a child, they need to know about a proper human diet. And I guarantee you, if they're a teenager and you're like, "Hey, you know, you'll lose weight and
you won't have to take these pills anymore." They'll be like, "Wait, what?" Also, your acne will get better. Yeah. Most Teenagers are gonna be like, "Bet. I sign me up. I'll do it. How do I do it? Tell me what to do. Okay. Now, four, five, and six year olds who have fatty liver and pre-diabetes, that's not their fault. They don't fix the meals. They don't shop at the supermarket. They don't have keys. They can't drive to the store. They don't have a checkbook or a credit card. They're just trusting their parents to feed them
good food. But the parents Don't know better either. So, by teaching the parent, you're actually saving the kid from a lifetime of chronic disease. That's why I do these lives. That's why I'm sitting in my office today and sit out on the farm playing is because I know there's kids out there right now who have type two diabetes that that should not exist. That shouldn't be a real thing. And the only way we're going to fix that is by educating their parents and saying, "Hey, you can reverse that yourself. You don't need to take them
to that special pediatric clinic every three months. You can fix this yourself. D Lee says, "Hit the thumbs up if you haven't already done so." Also, check and make sure you're subscribed or following because a lot of people think they are and they aren't. So, make sure you are so you'll get notifications uh when I go live. Ron says, "Thoughts on red yeast rice to lower cholesterol?" Well, first of all, Ron, do you believe that high cholesterol is dangerous or bad for you? Because that's being increasingly called into question by some of the leading cardiologist
and cardiothoracic surgeons out there. They're like, "Yeah, we thought that high cholesterol was a big deal, but it turns out it looks like that if you're pre-diabetic or type two diabetic, that's 10 or 20 times 10x 20x more dangerous than having high Cholesterol. If you have if you're overweight, that's five times more dangerous than high cholesterol. If you have high blood pressure, that's three to five times more dangerous than having high cholesterol. If you have metabolic syndrome, five to 10 times more dangerous than having high cholesterol. High cholesterol is like number 14 on the list
of causes of heart attack. It's not number one. Like your doctor may falsely believe. Uh if you want to take Reggias, it's not going to hurt you, but I also don't think it's going to help you. Here's a question from Patty White House, Tennessee. Hey neighbor. Can I use desiccated thyroid with ancestral supplements beef thyroid? You can, but you probably don't need to. Uh, if any of you guys wanted, if you're like, I would love to eat liver because I know it's super nutrientdense, but I I literally would I I hate it. I hate Liver.
Uh, what I would recommend, Patty, is that you take Ancestral Supplements beef liver. It's it's freeze-dried beef liver ground up and put in a capsule. And unlike um AG athletic greens which is ground up freeze dried vegetables or balance of nature which is freeze-dried ground up vegetables and fruit. Uh you would have to take pounds of balance of nature or athletic greens to get the nutrition that's in six capsules of Ancestral beef liver supplement. Six capsules of this is equal to a pound of capsules of Balance of Nature or Athletic Greens, AG1. They're a gimmick.
That's marketing. This is real nutrition. Now, I want all of you guys to eventually grow up and eat your liver. But until you do grow up, Ancestral Supplements, beef liver, and that's what I'd recommend for you, Patty. Keep taking your desiccated thyroid and just take the beef liver Capsules until you learn to like liver. Andrew grandfather has kidney disease 18. How can I help? I don't know what the 18 means, Andrew. So if your if your grandfather has chronic kidney disease, CKD, we actually have hundreds of people in our private community who uh used to
have stage two, stage three A, 3B, even stage four chronic kidney disease. And after uh 3 to 12 months on a proper human diet, which is meat, heavy keto, ketoore, carnivore, their kidney Function actually improved. Uh people with stage two went back to stage one. people with stage one chronic kidney disease just went back to normal kidney function. How cool is that? So, that's what I would recommend for your grandfather. Here's William. My six-year-old grandson was Oh, and we already answered William. Yeah, we got you. Thank you, Paul, very much. Thank you. Thank you, Denise.
Two-year-old with Constipation is painful. Eats fairly clean fruits, veg, meat. Parents tried prune apple juice. drinks three ounces of milk two times a day. Tried goat milk, no change. Probiotics maybe, but there's, you're right, there's no research to back up probiotics. What I would do is I would keep increasing the fat intake of this little fella, this little girl or g guy. Uh, just if they like butter, let them eat a a tablespoon of butter a day. Two tablespoons in Addition to their and they can keep eating their their fruits. Now, don't drink fruit juice
obviously. no added sugar, anything because grains are going to stop this little one up. Okay, fiber is probably going to make it worse, not better. You want to bump up the fat and then maybe start using some little magnesium drops, just a little tiny dose, one or two drops a day, until you get the bowels back on track. Because the problem with young ones, when they Have this for a while, they start to have apprehension because it hurt when they pooped, right? It's not supposed to hurt. And that that scares little ones to death, understandably.
And so they start to hold their poop. They're like, "Oh, I got to poop, but I don't want to. It'll hurt." Well, that just makes the poop larger and larger caliber, which is going to make it hurt worse. And so, even if you bumped up Their fat intake enough that they had diarrhea for a few days, at least when they poop, it didn't hurt because it's it's not that big caliber of constipated poop anymore. And then you can lower the the fat back down and then they can just have normal bowel movements. And after they've
had four or five or six normal bowel movements, they're like, "Oh, it doesn't hurt anymore. When I have to poop, I'll just go poop." And also uh you know be very very loving and gentle And kind because if you if you yell at them about this if you get a if if they can if they can detect stress in you about this that's g they they can they're and they're world class at detecting stress in parents and grandparents that's going to make them stress and then they're going to retain that poop. So you just got
to just chillax and you got to act like it's no big deal here. Just eat this little butter. We'll go outside and play. Let Me rub your tummy a little. But there can't be any kind of negative emotions, whether sadness, anger, any of that. You just need to be happy and upbeat because they will pick up on your anxiety and that'll make their anxiety worse. Hope that helps, Denise. Ask more questions if you have them. Stephen, meat is a scary food for a friend with anorexia nervosa. How can this be approached? So, Stephen, your friend,
you you need to take your Friend's phone and go to Instagram and find Michelle Hearn, Hur N. Find her Instagram and follow her for your friends. She is a registered dietitian, but she also used to have severe endstage anorexia. She was institutionalized more than once and was on at at one point was on death's door. They were like, you know, calling the family. She's now a distance runner. She is a 100% carnivore and is living the be a li living a life right now she never Imagined that she could have. She never thought she'd have
a life like this. She's happy. She's married. She's long-distance runner. She's got a successful career. She used to be severe anorexic and was afraid of food. But she found that meat did not cause the stomach pain, did not cause the problems. And so, uh, she'll even probably consult with your friend about this. She's she does health Coaching as well. Uh but yeah, any if any of you guys know somebody with anorexia, nervosa or any of the other eating disorders, there are multiple causes for that. But my hypothesis is one of the leading biggest causes of
that is they grew up eating inappropriate pseudo food that confused their brain, confused their guts. For many of these kids with anorexia, when they eat grains, it causes their belly to hurt. But the the parents, the the psychologists, the the the the counselors don't believe them. They think they're just trying to not eat, but they're telling the truth. The grains really do hurt their their tummy. All the junk food hurts their tummy. The dessert hurts their tummy. The vegetables hurt their tummy, but nobody believes them. And so if you guys know anybody suffering from anorexia,
please let you can clip this part of the video And play it for them and then have them go follow Michelle Hearn on Twitter or Instagram and uh usually if she has time she'll respond to direct messages and and you guys can set up some kind of coaching arrangement so that she can help your young one understand it's not all food. It's just these foods that are causing you to have the discomfort, the pain, the bloating, the feeling like, "Oh my god, I'm fat." It's the food that's a big part of it. Not all of
it. Let me be very clear. I'm not trying to be insensitive here, but the food plays a huge role in that. And Michelle can explain that to you as a registered dietician and as somebody who used to suffer from the very thing we're talking about. Best of luck, Steve. Let us know how that goes. Country Bumpkin, as an advocate of the carnivore diet, can you comment on Dr. Dr. Walter Longo's claim that excess protein may dramatically increase the risk of cancer and Accelerate aging? So, uh, Country Bubkin, I like you because you actually said what
Dr. Valter Longo actually says. Let's read that again. Excess protein may dramatically increase the risk of cancer and accelerate aging. Now, anytime a sentence has the word may in it, what can you replace that with? Do you know? May not. You could, this sentence would be this just as true if you said, you know, excess protein may Not dramatically increase the risk of cancer and shorten your life. Yeah, this is all based on observational research. There's no definitive research that that proves that eating a a moderate amount of protein, a high amount of protein, or
an excessive amount, whatever that means, of protein will shorten your life or increase your risk of cancer. There is literally no evidence to prove that whatsoever. Does it make sense, Bumpkin? This is a This is Dr. Vulture Longo's hypothesis. Now, I'll tell you another little fun fact about Dr. long ago. Well, I love his research. I've read it all. He's very intelligent. But for a while there, he was trying to make money by selling something that was it was called fasting bars. And I'm not joking. You look it up. Fasting bars. Yes. You eat these
bars when you're fasting. Yeah. I don't know if they're still on the market anymore. I think we made such Unmerciful fun of him that he probably pulled them off the market. But they may still be out there. But like fasting means you're not eating anything. So any bar that you literally you can make a a bar out of anything that's edible. That's going to break your fast. It's not a fasting bar. That's dumb. But I'm I'm sure he made a few million before we we we we made such unmerciful fun that I I think he
pulled him off the market. I don't know. Does anybody know? Do they Still make fasting bars? If so, I'll make more fun of them. Ohio Beverly, I have uh EGPA panup plus luccoytolastic vasculitis and now have steroid induced diabetes. This is the problem. Too many steroids too often. It can cause you to have cushions like syndromes and even diabetes on biologics. Feel like I'm losing traction in general. You are, Beverly. You are losing traction. That's the bad news. The good news is you can you can slow down this loss of traction And most likely even
reverse it by slowly cutting the carbohydrates and slowly increasing the amount of meat, red meat, fatty red meat that you're eating. You're going to notice that your chronic vasculitis and other chronic inflammations are going to get less severe. And I'm not saying it's going to cure any of your autoimmune conditions, but it's going to make it's going to reduce the symptoms, reduce the severity So much that you probably can either reduce the steroid dosage or maybe get off it completely. Take low dose short burst from time to time instead of being on high dose all
the time. This is going to be a slow thing for you. You're going to you're going to it might take a year before you reap all the benefits that you'll sew by adopting and sticking strictly to a proper human diet. Now, I've said proper human diet about a hundred times, and I'm sure one or two Of you are like, "Yeah, but what does that even mean? What is a proper human diet?" You can actually get a free copy of my proper human diet guide book. There's a link in the show notes. uh just click the
link and I need two pieces of information from you and I'll email you a free copy. Now, there's an upsell where there's a video of me basically explaining the book as you read it, but you don't have to buy that. You can say, "No thanks. I just want the Free copy and I'll email you a copy immediately." If you don't see it in your email, check your spam folder. Uh but it's about 40 pages long and it explains every principle of a proper human diet. And Beverly, I would love to hear an update with from
you in six months, nine months from now about how things are going. Thank you. Diane Jones started carnivore a few months back, eating better than ever. Had a routine Blood pressure check, donating blood. Nurse said I should be worried about my bottom number. Total BP was 155 over 96. Any advice? Yes. that my first piece of advice to you, James, is to watch my YouTube video called How to Check Your Blood Pressure Properly. Because most doctor's offices make at least three or more mistakes, and each mistake can cause your blood pressure to be anywhere from
three to 10 points falsely high. Now, at the blood mobile, you had to Walk up the steps, get in there, they rushed you around, asked some stuff, and probably checked your blood pressure while they were asking you questions. That can make it 10 points high, falsely high right off the bat. And I bet after you watch my video, you can be like, "Oh yeah, they did seven things wrong." Get a blood pressure cuff, buy it off Amazon, get one with thousands of five star reviews that checks here, not on your wrist, and follow my steps
of how To check it properly. Now, these are not my guidelines. These are the guidelines that the researchers came up with when they were doing the blood pressure studies. You don't rush somebody in and sit them down and take their blood pressure. That is inappropriate. That is incorrect. The researchers said you sit people in a quiet, dark room for 10 to 15 minutes before you check their blood pressure. If you don't do that, it will be falsely High. If you've got a full bladder, it'll make it five points higher than it really is. If they
don't make you take your long sleeve shirt or jacket off, it can be three to five points higher than it truly is. If your legs are crossed, it'll be three to five points higher than it actually is. So when you you're like, "Oh yeah, they were talking to me." That's it. Add five points. My legs are crossed, add five points. I still Had my windbreaker, add five points. So you see right off the bat, James, if they did four things wrong, your blood pressure there truly was probably 135 over 80, but they did so many
things wrong, including rushing you, that it was falsely high. Okay? I can't tell you the the hundreds of people in our in our community uh who were like, "Oh, yeah. I was on two different blood pressure medicines and and I started eating keto or Carnivore and that brought my blood pressure down. But then when I started checking it properly like you taught me from your YouTube video that's called how to check your blood pressure properly, my blood pressure was like 115 over 75. Uhhuh. Yeah. Most doctor's offices make at least one mistake checking your blood
pressure, if not more than that. Because you just imagine in a doctor's office if they if they took every patient and made And let them sit quietly for 10 minutes before they checked their blood pressure, how far behind they would be in their schedule, right? They can't they can't they cannot check a blood pressure properly in a doctor's office if it's a if it's a full, you know, full book doctor's office. They just can't. It's impossible. I'm not yelling at them for that, but that is the truth. And any honest doctors will admit that. Yeah,
we shouldn't do it that way, but we don't Have really have a choice. Back when I was seeing patients full-time at the Berry Clinic, we that's how we did it. Now, we tried to get their legs uncrossed, let them go pee first, take their shirt off. We tried to do as many things right as possible, but we couldn't let them sit for 10 or 15 minutes. We would went broke. We wouldn't have been able to pay the bills. So, it's up to you, James, to buy a blood pressure cuff And check it at home and
write that number down. And I guarantee you it's not going to be 155 over 96. Uh D says, "Is it okay to be on carnivore diet mainly on pork products since my family doesn't eat beef or goats or lambs and the like due to religious factors?" What religion can you eat pork but not beef, goats or lambs? What religion is that? I mean, I'm I'm just confessing my own Ignorance. I don't know what religion that would be. Um, yeah, you can do you can do carnivore with with pork and and poultry and fish. Absolutely you
can. It's not going to be as good as if you include ruminant animals like beef, sheep, and goats. Uh, but please tell me any any if anybody knows what religion is it you can eat pork but you can't eat beef, goats or sheep. I would love to know what religion that is. That's very Interesting. Uh Shorty Simon, I'm on an animal-based keto diet for six weeks and have crazy stomach cramps and diarrhea every time I eat anything. So, just when you eat, you got to poop. Uh this is a lot of people have this reflex
anyway, even if they're not keto. What can I do? Uh so, you might want to bump down your fat intake a little bit. If you're taking a magnesium supplement, you might you probably want to decrease the magnesium A little bit and probably that combination will calm this down and you won't have this. Hey cat mom, thank you very much. Is it so Hindus can eat pork but they cannot eat beef, sheep or goats. Is that is that right? Nerdium says Latter-day Saints. I don't think that's true. Uh, nerdium. I know some LDS and they eat
beef all the time. Nobody else. Yeah, Marina said Hindu maybe. Is it really Hindus? They can eat Pork but not ruminants. Really? Huh? Maybe. I don't know. I'll have to look that up. Yeah, I know cows are sacred uh to the Hindu, but what about the the sheep and goats? They're not sacred, are they? Ah, Lyall says, "Does carnivore diet help with hydrainitis supera symptoms?" 100% yes. I actually have a video about HS on my YouTube channel that you need to watch immediately. I when I made that video, I'm talking about keto meat heavy Keto,
but carnivore does exactly the same things for HS as keto does. Yes, 100%. So some Hindus do eat pork. But what about sheep and goats? Hindus can eat sheep and pork, right? I mean sheep and goats. Yeah. Ruminant animals have a multi-chambered stomach. Power ranger. Uh and so domesticated animals that we would eat would be cow, sheep, goats, but there are many wild animals that Have ruminants. And so this is any animal that after they eat grass for a while, they lay down and they they regurgitate it. It's called chewing their could. You see a
cow laying there just chewing like he's chewing gum. That's part of the rumination process. Sheep do it, goats do it. Uh venison does it. Lots of wild ruminants do it. Prayer ministry says, "Is it okay to eat cottage cheese in the mornings as a snack?" First of all, I need all 3,400 Of you to understand something. If you're eating enough fat and protein during your meals, you will have no need to snack. All everybody watching this is a grown-up. I think most snacking, as my friend Dr. Robert Cyus says, sn when you snack, that's always
an emotional event. You're either bored or everybody else is snacking. you're going along with the tribe or you're upset and you snack or you're tired and you snack, pissed off And you snack. Snacking is not about nutrition. Okay? Either eat breakfast or don't eat breakfast. Either eat breakfast or fast. There's no such thing as a snack. When you eat a snack, that's another meal. So, you're instead of eating however many meals you think you eat a day, if you So, if you eat three meals a day and you have a snack between each meal and
bedtime snack, you're eating six meals a day. Three of them are small, but they're still meals. That's how your body looks at it. Snacking it in no way improves your health. There is no snack that you can eat between full meals that will improve your health. That's always going to be a detriment to your health. Stop snacking. Either eat a full meal or fast. Pick one. But I know that so much of the marketing and advertising, you know, that's also another name for that is propaganda, right? Oh, this healthy snack bar. It's only 100 calories.
Oh, It's full of this. That it's a that's a meal. You're just eating a little ultrarocessed meal is what you're doing. Okay. Now, back. Let's talk about cottage cheese. If dairy does not cause you to overeat, because for many people, dairy is hyper palatable. Meaning, even when you're satiety hormones are telling you you're full, if it's dairy, you could still eat some more even past the point of fullness. then you don't need to eat cottage cheese. For some people, The case and the ways in cottage cheese can cause inflammation either in their gut or their
skin or their joints or even in their brain, mental health issues. You need to figure out if you're one of those. Now, as long as it's full fat cottage cheese, for most people is probably fine to include it as part of a meal. If it's fat free or skim, no, don't eat that. No. But if it's full fat and you love it And you understand there's no magical nutrition in cottage cheese, it's just it's curdled milk, right? It's milk that a bacteria's mess messed around with the proteins and turned them from liquid to solid. That's
what cottage cheese is. That's what every cheese is, right? There's no magical nutrition in in those. But if you like it, it's fine, I think, to eat a little bit if it's full fat. Unless you think it's causing you to eat Too much too often or it's causing inflammation and some people uh any kind of cheese will cause weight gain. I'm one of those people. I love literally every form of dairy I've ever tried. I love it. But I have to limit the dairy severely or I won't stay 225. I'll be 240 before you know
it. I'll divorce you and then Misha will divorce me. That's right. You get fat, I'll divorce you. Power Ranger wants to eat a whole tub of cottage cheese if it's full fat and that's going to be your meal. And yeah, I don't care. Just count, you know, if you're keto, count your macros. Uh, but I would probably recommend you do better eating a bunch of meat versus a bunch of cottage cheese. All right, let me find a good I know, Joe. Joe says, "Damn it, not my cheese." I know. I know, dude. I'm just telling
you what works for me. Some people can Eat cheese every day and do just fine. Hi, Nisha. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going live in our private group. 10 minutes after this live ends. So if anybody wants to be part of that, if you're not part of the community, let me put that address back up here. Nisha reminded me, you go to phdalth community. It's not.com, it's do community and sign up. Sign up and I will I will be live in the Group 10 minutes after this is over. What's that? What time are you finishing up
here? Um, probably at the top of the hour. Chalky says, "Doctor, what advice can you give for people on carnivore but with a sludgy bile to melt the fat they eat?" So, bile sludge in the gallbladder is a it's a real thing. It's a it's a known thing. You can see it on ultrasound. But bile sludge is not permanent. The reason you have sludge is Because this is 100% of the time caused by people who've been eating a very low-fat diet for long periods of time. Every time you eat fat in your diet, your gallbladder
contracts and squirts bile out through the cystic duct into your small intestine to emulsify and break down fat. But if you've been eating low fat for a long time, your gallbladder's weak and floppy and probably has sludge in it, maybe has stones in it. So the way to get the Sludge out is to eat more fat. Is it going to be uncomfortable? Yeah, you might have some right upper abdomen pain, discomfort, pressure because it it's uncomfortable when the sludge gets squirted out of the tiny cystic duct, but squirted out it will be. And when you
get all the sludge out, if you keep eating high fat, which is a healthy amount of fat, you'll never have sludge again. So, I I would predict, Chalky, that your carnivore diet's too lean Right now. You need to bump the fat up. That'll get the sludge out and it'll keep the sludge out. Glenn says, "Is apple cider vinegar, I think that's what you meant, ASV, but I think you meant ACV. Okay?" Sure. Yeah, it's fine. U I don't know why you'd want to do that, but yeah, it's fine. It's not going to hurt you. So,
here's a trick question from AR Archangel. Can overeating fat make you gain weight? So, see, we're so out of touch with our food and nutrition in our gut. When you eat a diet, a meal that's rich in protein and fats, that's going to trigger your satiety hormones. When you've eaten enough of that, it's going to tell you, it's going to turn off your hunger, turn off your appetite. If you keep eating, it'll it'll finally you'll be repulsed by just looking at the food like, "Ah, I love ribba. Get that out of my face." Okay? Archangel
doesn't know that. Archangel thinks you just like a robot. You can just eat and eat and eat and eat and eat and eat and eat. Now, if you're eating ultrarocessed, low-fat junk, you can you can eat and eat and eat and eat all day long constantly. You can eat bags of chips. You can drink drink drinks. I mean, you can just eat all day because those ultrarocessed foods that Kelloggs makes, General Mills, Craft Post, Pepsi, Coke, they're designed To hack your hormones that tell you you're full so you can just keep eating. They make more
money, you get sicker. Hm. That doesn't sound like a good deal. But when you start eating an ancestrally appropriate diet with enough protein and fat, all of a sudden, when you've eaten enough food, you're no longer interested in food. So, archangel Archangel, what's going to happen is is you're you're never going to over eat fat. Your body won't let you unless you just Consciously force yourself to keep eating on even though you're repulsed by it. You just keep forcing it in like some kind of like you need psychiatric help. I guess you could overeat fat.
But if you listen to your hunger and listen to your fullness like whoop, that's it. I'm full. You'll never overeat fat. That won't ever happen. That's impossible. It's like drinking water. When you're super thirsty and you come in, you've been working, sweating like a horse, you Come in, you just guzzle the water, right? But when you've had enough water, all of a sudden you're like, "Yeah, I'm done. I don't want any more water." If I showed up at your house at that moment and said, "Here's another liter of water. I got a gun. Drink this
liter of water." You'd be like, "I don't want it." Okay? And I could force you. You could you could overdrink water to the point where you developed hyponetriia. But you're never going to do that in just natural living. You're never going to do that because when your thirst is quenched, you will stop drinking water. That same things happen that the same thing happens with food if you're eating real human food. Get it? It's like your body's designed to just act right if you eat real human food. Like all these weird problems and these weird concerns
we have, if you realize we evolved eating fat, fatty Meat, that's literally was our food, our our food of choice for a long time. You're like, "Oh, well then that'd be like saying, "Oh, can a cow eat too much grass?" Well, have you ever seen a cow eat too much grass? No. That's because they just listen to their hunger. When they're hungry, they eat grass. when they're full, they stop eating grass and they go lay down and chew their cood because they're rooing it down. Cow, you never I guarantee if there's a vet Watching and
I said, "Hey, have you ever had a cow brought into the veterary emergency room because they ate too much grass?" He'd be like, "Uh, no." Because cows listen to their hunger. They don't they don't watch television commercials and watch commercials on and ads on on YouTube. They just eat when they're hungry and they stop eating when they're full. It's kind of cool. Ohio Beverly says, "Please answer Flow State's question." Okay, let me see if I Can find it. I thought I had answered everybody. Flow state. Where is Flow State's question? Flow State. Flow State. I
don't see it. If if uh any of our coaches are still watching. Oh, wait. Let me look right here. Oh, here it is. Right here. I found it. Okay. Flow state. 34 year old male went carnivore for skin health. Dermatitis on face and fungal rash and groin. Feel suicidal six weeks in. What next steps if it doesn't help? So, You've just now started and you're already worried about what if it doesn't help. Okay. Two things I need you to do. Flow state. I need you to eat fatty red meat anytime you're hungry. I need you
to eat until you're full. Then I need you to stop eating. And then number two, I need you to go out and play in the sun. The sun is good for you, just like fatty red meat is good for you. Okay? Let the sunshine on anywhere that the This rash this if it's a fungus in your groin. Get in the back the back garden, the backyard, the sideyard, side garden, get somewhere where your neighbors not going to call the cops and let the sun shine on that. Five or 10 minutes a day. Eat red meat.
Get all this rash in the sun every day for at least five minutes to start with and work up to 10 minutes a day. Within a month. If it's a rash within two weeks, it's going to be gone. If it's something else, it might take a month, but it's still it's going to be getting progressively better as you eat fatty red meat and get it in the sun. Make sense? This this is just how human skin works. This is not this is not a some kind of kooky new world uh I don't know even what
to say. This is this is not some superstition I'm telling you. I'm telling you this will happen. Okay? So stop worrying about stuff that hadn't Happened yet and just do the two things I told you. Do them today. Do them tomorrow. Do them the next day. Do them the next day. And not only will your mood improve because eating lots of fatty red meat helps your mental health. That plus sunlight helps your mental health. Both of them do. And I'll bet you money flow states, you don't get out in the sun much, do you? But
I bet you if you if you listen to me, that's going to change. And you're going to be so Glad you listen to me. I'd love a follow-up comment sometime in the future. I don't know if you're in our private community or not, but we've got a bunch of people who who were suicidal, literally depressed to the point they were considering the ultimate solution. And they're not suicidal anymore because they've got a support network of people who are there for them who had the same thing they had, now they don't Have it anymore. And they
can say, "Hey, hey, Flow State, no, no, no, dude. Just here, let me tell you. I had the same thing. Do this and this and this." And Dr. Barry said this, but I want you to add one more thing because I did that and it helped me. And before you know it, you've got all these new friends. You've got new skin because your skin regrows every three months, right? Flow state. Your mental health has improved. You're not even considering That solution anymore. Try it. Just try it. I promise you'll be glad you did. Now, we're
done here today, but if you're not done, if you need if you got more questions, Flow State or any of you guys, click you can't click this link, but just type in phdalth.com community. Got to type in the whole word and sign up. There's two different levels. Whichever one you can afford is fine with me. And I'm going to go live For every tribe member in the private community. So, you got 10 minutes and then I'll be live in there. And if you got more questions, I'll answer them then. Thanks for hanging out with me.
