you watch our videos because you want to improve your life but maybe you don't know exactly where to start from you just want some small improvements over time that will make a difference well in this video we'll give you a list of 10 things you can start doing right away to transform your life over time welcome to a lux number one do boring stuff regularly you're not saving puppies and making the investment of your life every single day actually most days are boring routine maintenance think about it like this the first day you go to
the gym you're all excited you watch people working out on youtube you already have your workouts planned out you got some cool gym clothes you are a certified gym bro you go in you do your thing you sweat you're tired you're happy you go out that day doesn't really count soon there will come a day when you're tired you're running a bit late it's raining outside and you're not really in the mood and guess what those will be most days in everything you do in life there's a certain honeymoon period things are new exciting and
your newly discovered passion carries you through those first steps but after that things become more boring and routine you don't really have that initial flame anymore and that's the most important time get used to it and do it anyway that's how it's supposed to work number two eat the frog first and if you're confused here watch our previous video on the topic essentially each day you have a frog to eat it's unpleasant you don't want to do it and it's constantly in the back of your mind left unattended it'll slowly cast a big shadow over
you and make you anxious you have an email you keep postponing there's a discussion you've got to have there's a pile of unwashed clothes getting bigger and bigger you promised something and you never did it the more you leave these things unattended the bigger it will become and the bigger it gets the more you don't want to do it that's your frog what you need to do is eat it first thing in the morning don't think about it don't analyze it too much don't make a pro and con list just wake up wash up and
eat the frog number three digital minimalism tech makes your life easier you ask siri to wake you up you ask alexa to refill your fridge you get an email notification on your wrist the algorithm learns what you like and only shows you the good stuff most of the time all of these are great too great almost we made a video on how to better use technology which we suggest you check out but for this video here's what we propose there is a dead time between when you wake up and when you have to do something
it's usually an hour or two you most likely spend it scrolling instagram and checking reddit or twitter your mind gets flooded with infinite timelines it catches your attention and you cannot look away and before you know it you have things you need to do and you are still in bed so instead practice digital minimalism in the first hours you wake up don't touch technology besides what's actually important like checking the time try to do this until you absolutely have to pick up tech what you'll find is that your mornings become much more quiet and clear
you will suddenly have more time just for you even though that window of time is the same number four leave a book in the bathroom how many times have you postponed a dump because you had five percent battery life left don't lie we know what's up the average person spends 30 minutes a day in the bathroom that's the equivalent of 20 pages read most books have a maximum of 300 pages you can read a whole book in two weeks worth of taking dumps that's two books a month or 24 a year a survey done by
fast company showed the average ceo reads about 60 books a year and you're halfway there just by reading when you're in the bathroom this might actually be the most valuable reading advice for someone who doesn't read just have one book in the bathroom and don't take your phone in there with you there'll be nothing else for you to do in there so you might as well read something other than the ingredient list on your deodorant number five take 30 minutes for your physical health there are a lot of insane programs you can do in 30
minutes and we're doing none of that let's try walking and taking the stairs instead you're doing this to make a habit not to train for the olympics reserving 30 minutes just for your physical health a day will compound over time will walking for 30 minutes each day transform your life no but doing something for your health for 30 minutes each day will build a habit and when you finally decide to take your health more seriously you'll find it much easier to replace a walking with a running or working out we suggest early in the morning
to get it over with especially if exercise is your personal frog number six take 10 minutes for your mental health most successful people practice some form of meditation it helps you to clear your head and organize your priorities and you know the fact that meditation is still something rather taboo for some people is mind-boggling we guess it got a weird reputation from the hippie days and people believe meditation means talking to the trees or something but from entrepreneurs top athletes and everyday people who figured stuff out everyone benefits from this most people lack self-awareness they
live in their little boxes not knowing left from right doing the same thing every day and wondering why they're miserable they can't find answers to simple questions and they struggle with the basic their mind isn't in the right place they struggle with motivation and finding a purpose that's where taking care of your mental health comes in even 10 minutes daily is enough to steer you in the right direction imagine a plane flying from new york to paris in a straight line even if the pilot shifts direction by a couple of degrees at takeoff it will
end up in an entirely different place so take the time to invest in your mental health and a great way to do it is by downloading the alux app it's the perfect mix of meditation and motivation to help you get everything you want out of life you can find it by going to alux.com app or by searching alux in either of the app stores number seven show up nothing happens randomly in life go back long enough and you will find the cause of things but sometimes it's hard to identify the cause and we settle for
saying it's random you saw this video on youtube you clicked on it and you showed up maybe you'll find something here that will completely change your life maybe you won't it's hard to pinpoint exactly what moment in your past made you who you are today but if you want more things to happen for you you need to create more causes with positive effects and the practical way to do this is by just showing up go to that meeting answer that phone call respond to that email you will never know what chain of events that could
trigger the official term for this is serendipity it means an unplanned fortunate discovery viagra for example was discovered by accident a drug that was meant to relax the blood vessels around the heart to improve blood flow happen to have the same effect somewhere else now it's a multi-billion dollar industry you could say it happened randomly but researchers were showing up every day at the lab number eight get a whiteboard the number one reason you don't follow your plan is because you forget about it you say you'll do something you might even do it a couple
of times then you skip it and forget about it it happens really often to a lot of people visual reminders are extremely powerful and they act as a way to keep yourself accountable and a whiteboard has multiple purposes besides the visual reminders it helps you to visualize your thoughts imagine having a visual timeline for your year you know when things are supposed to happen how much time you have left and what you've done so far to go a step further get yourself a life calendar it's basically a table of boxes with each box representing a
week in your life once you start filling these boxes in and you realize how much time has passed and how much time you have left some interesting changes will happen in your mind trust us number nine keep earning your title or it expires this is something we read on a derek sivers book hell yeah or no and it stuck with us in his words holding on to a title gives you satisfaction without action someone who played football in high school can call themselves an athlete forever if you've been a good friend once that doesn't mean
you're a good friend forever we tend to think that past experiences are a predictor to future success but that's rarely the case retiring old titles relieves you from the pressure your past self puts on your future self and it does one more very interesting thing it'll show you what titles you really care for and don't want to let go maybe you were a leader 10 years ago you created a good team and you led them to victory but that was a long time ago and you haven't done anything since it's time to recall the leader
title and if that makes you uncomfortable good start being a leader again think about what past titles you really care about and keep on earning them number 10 do something you're proud of momentary happiness comes from your reality meeting your expectations you reach a goal you hit the target and you feel good about yourself but achievements are few and far between you can't be sad for five years and happy for only half an hour so what is the answer for this some say that happiness and fulfillment come from within and while that's true there's no
practicality in that quote how do you find this space called within and how can you grab happiness out of it well we'll tell you how every day try to do something you're proud of even if it's something as simple as making yourself some eggs for breakfast you can plate it in a way that's instagramable sprinkle some seasoning on top make it look pretty add a glass of orange juice to the side if you go to the grocery store talk with the clerk in the nicest way possible if you're creating something put your heart into it
you don't have to be like this with everything you do just pick one doing something you're proud of creates a sense of fulfillment similar to the one you get when you reach a goal and a luxers that's it from us today we hope you found this video useful and as a thank you for sticking with us until the end of course we've got a bonus for you and that is to change and with or this list we gave you is not a step-by-step guide it's a list of different practical ways to transform your life you
