CH G CH Masters someday you wake up and you realize I have a limited amount of time that I'm alive on this planet and the question becomes what do you want to do with it your time doesn't belong to your parents doesn't belong to your husband your wife Your children it's your time that's what was given to you someday you'll realize that's all that was really given to you you are a conscious being therefore you are aware that you exist you somehow and you don't know how have ended up on this planet took us N9
years to get the Pluto how long it take you to get here it's really weird take spaceships they cost a lot of money how did you get to the planet Earth I'm Serious I'm not going to talk anymore to you tell me somehow you did some sort of I don't know it's hard to get to other planets isn't it but you got to the planet Earth nothing wrong with looking at it that way because you really did okay all right we'll say you descended here from somewhere we don't know all right whatever doesn't matter the
point is you're here are you going to stay no no no one you know buy one way Trick it's this round trip right you have to leave so you're here and you're going to leave it's not hard to figure out while you're here you're going to be aware aware of what I didn't say that I want you to go very slowly this is the basics of life you're going to be aware are you not aware right what you're going to be aware of is couple of different things you be aware of what's in front of
you because you have senses and they sense what's in front of you And they send it into you it's very nice of them I hope you thank them all right they're very nice things Your Eyes Ears Nose taste touch so on your senses send this world this Earth the planet Earth which you came to visit it sends it into you and you are Consciousness awareness that's all I don't know what word to call it you're just aware that you are aware that you are aware that you can experience these things so that's one thing you
experience nothing Thing you experience are your thoughts we'll discuss that a little bit more in a minute but you have these thoughts yes or no am I the only one that has them all right you have these thoughts that are created within your mind and you have these feelings that are created within your heart so you all know about those things too so these are things you're aware of you're aware that you exist and you're aware of the outside world you're aware of your thoughts You're aware of your emotions so that's what's going to happen
to you I'm psychic is this going to happen to you here on the planet Earth from the time right now until you die you're going to be aware of what's in front of you what's inside of your thoughts and your emotions now the question becomes what is the quality of your life well it must have something to do with what you're aware of because you're aware you're an aware being that's very good now what You're aware of seems to affect the quality of your life and I know you all believe in that you're very busy
out there manipulating controlling and trying to do something about what you're aware of okay the trouble is that the outside world this planet Earth and the things that are on it and what you experience are just one of the three things we said you're aware of you're aware of what comes in through your senses you're aware of your thoughts and You're aware of your emotions all right if all you do is pay attention to what it is you're going to be aware of outside of you and spend your entire life trying to manipulate and control
and get and do whatever you need to do to try and have going on outside of you what you want to experience you have ignored your thoughts and your emotions and those are major part of what you're aware of can your thoughts and emotions determine the quality of Your life how about that's the only thing that determines the quality of your life if you get something outside that you think is the way you wanted it but it makes your thoughts go terrible and it makes your emotions get really weird how you doing if something happens
outside that you thought would be awful but it makes your thoughts get really happy and your heart starts feeling a lot of love how we doing see that's what you got to Learn I'm serious nothing is more important to the basics of your spirituality and your spiritual growth than what I just said to you you're looking for love in all the wrong places as the song goes all right you are looking outside when it is truly your thoughts and your emotions that are determining theity of your life what happens when you fall in love what
do you say I don't care we don't have any money I don't Care we can live outside in the rain as long as I'm with you and you mean it it won't last long I already tell you I want to make sure you know that right but the net result is if the heart is open and you are feeling beautiful emotions and the thought is saying really nice things it's fine you guys are weird when the emotions are nice okay you just do weird things you got to scratch in your car my new car you
got to scratch she did it she did oh what is A scratch it's a scratch no not if my emotions are nice about it and my thoughts get nice about it then all of a sudden it's a nice scratch she did it all right I could go on all night couldn't I the truth of the matter is you are aware of three things in the end I'm going to show you there's more than three but we'll wait till the end a normal not quite awake yet human being is aware of three things what is coming
through their senses in other words the World around them their thoughts and their emotions all right and I'm telling you and you'll get it by the end of this talk waking up the first step of waking up is realizing I am spending all my time and I mean all my time trying to manipulate and control what the world around me looks like and what it's doing I'm decorating my room I'm buying special clothes I'm wondering about where I'm going to go on my vacation and what will I get to see And who am I going
to marry and everything everything I'm doing all I can to try to get what comes in through my senses to be something that will be pleasant to be something that doesn't bring me down to be something that's nice when the truth of the matter is no matter what I put in front of you if your thoughts go negative it's not nice and if your heart goes negative are you kidding me could be the most beautiful thing that could ever be and You got Suicidal Thoughts it is your thoughts and your emotions way more than what
is going on in the outside world that is determined the quality of your life and yet how much time have you ever spent working on your thoughts and emotions versus trying to get the car you li the boat you want or the person you like or get the thing decorated or redo and get your hair do it right come On how much time do you spend trying to get the outside of the world the way you want it or the way you think will make you happy and make sure it's not the way that's going
to make you sad right make sure nothing happens out there that's not what you want so this is so basic but yet nobody looks at it this way I swear I could send you home and you just learned all you need to learn if you'll pay attention first check it out is it or is it not true That you are aware of these three things but it's coming through your senses and your thoughts and your emotions all right and is it not true that it is really your thoughts and your emotions that are determined the
quality of your life I love her oh my God ever since I've seen her I'm just so happy I just love her so much all right then she doesn't love you she loves somebody else oh my God I'm so unhappy just hear it think it make your I really Love her so much I don't want to get hurt last time I loved somebody I got so hurt I don't want to do that again I don't want to love all your thoughts can screw up your life it doesn't even take something outside of you does it
who is willing to pay attention to what is going on here So eventually to cut a long story short but I don't want to I would sit here and keep bothering you about it all right well cuz I just know you don't get it you'll sit there and You'll shake your head and it's sort of like it's interesting maybe he's got a point no this is not a point pay attention it is your thoughts and your emotions that are determining the quality of your life it is sort of like if I take glasses and they're
tinged green and somehow I don't know how everything I look at is green and so what I decide to do is get some paint and paint you guys to get them back to The color you're supposed to be no it is your glasses that are determining what everything looks like you have to look through your glasses in order to see the world don't waste your time with the world it's green because your glasses are green it's red because your glasses are red you are looking through your thoughts and your emotions they are the closest to
you they surround you they are your inner State and you look through them in order to see the world So if your thoughts and emotions are negative you are not going to have a good time in this world if your heart is having issues and problems scared and insecure you are not going to have a good time in this world on the other hand if your thoughts are telling you how nice everything is and how much fun this is and how exciting this is and you can't wait to get to work guess what you are
enthused and excited about going to work and if your heart feels oh my God Passionate and love and attracted to things you you you're just having a great time right it is your inner state that is determining the quality of your life and yet if I asked you percentage wise you have will all of you have will I've seen it it's scary all right and you are out there using your will to manipulate and control people placed in things around you to try to make them be the way that you think will add to the
quality of Your life that's what you do how much time and some of you do work on yourselves but for a normal human being how much time of your normal day do you spend trying to make sure that your thoughts and your emotions working directly with your thoughts and your emotions just like you work directly with your husband or your wife or your kids or the car or the job or the boss you don't work indirectly with them you want to raise you go to the boss and so Basically I want to know what percentage
of your time you spend directly working to make sure your thoughts and your emotions are as positive as they possibly be because the answer is for a normal human being is none they never thought of it it never dawned on them they didn't even know they could how you like that a normal human being said well I work on my thoughts and emotions I try to get her to love me because if she loves me I've noticed my thoughts and Emotions are nicer I work with my thought you work indirectly with your thoughts and emotions
but you work directly with her and directly with your boss and directly with your car you understand that but somehow you don't know that you have the right to work with your thoughts and your emotions and then if you work with your thoughts and emotions and you get them more positive and you get the heart more open that you I I talked about this last time you Redecorate your apartment you don't wait for someone else to come in and do it GE I don't like what my apartment looks like maybe someone will come in and
paint it I don't feel love maybe someone will show up and make make me feel it you do see you don't do what you do the other don't you all right and so you eventually wake up and you realize I have thoughts and emotions they are mine it is my responsibility if I want to have a high quality of life to have nice Thoughts and nice emotions and if you will work directly with your thoughts and your emotions I guarantee you that the quality of your life will go up and to whatever degree you work
with your thoughts and emotions directly to raise them and we're going to talk about exactly what that means first of all can you do that can you directly work with your thoughts and emotions of course you can you're a conscious being they are your thoughts and your emotions they're Nobody else's there's not even anybody else in there I told you out here there's competition for things you want something somebody wants it more you want it to be like some right in here there's no competition there is nobody else in there they are your thoughts and
your emotions so I have now isolated what I have come to see and I hope you will and do the most important part of your entire life your thoughts and your emotions they determine the entire Quality of your life and now I've just empowered you to say that the most important thing in your whole life is completely up to you nobody else is controlling your thoughts and emotions nobody else has anything to do with your thoughts and emotions they're completely yours so all you have to do is decide I'm going to have nicer thoughts and
emotions and I guarantee you'll have a nicer life right if your heart was more open you felt more love and you felt More enthused about things and your mind was more positive and your mind was excited about things would you have a nicer life if you woke up in the morning so your mind saying oh God I'm so tired I want to get up oh my God I got to go see the boss today there going to be such oh what does he want it's a dragon not a single time I ever go see him
there any fun at all I got to go right I got four more months before my vacation God I going to make it I they're having fun yet no what am I going to wear I don't even know what to wear what's the weather the weather God probably rain again like how can you be okay if those are your thoughts I want to know there's a quiz Pop Quiz how many of you have noticed that your heart's emotions follow your thoughts that if your thoughts start oh my God the weather your heart goes just falls
out from under you your mind how have to see George I have had it with George every day I got to see him my ex oh my God why do you have to get a job right AC I don't want to see George how's your heart doing it feels anguish it feels ugly doesn't it okay your heart's emotions follow your thoughts patterns and it goes the other way sometimes the heart feels something by itself then the mind starts thinking oh my God I'm so unhappy I don't even I don't even I used to like mimicking
that stupid voice in There I don't like it anymore it's too depressing the N result is that's one way you get to wake up in the morning that is sort of like the default way that's going to happen if you don't work on it you got to admit you don't work on it thing goes pretty negative no all right you want to know another way you could wake up and I want to tell you which way you want to live and how it affects your quality of life you wake up in the morning it goes
I'm back I wonder what will happen today I'm on the planet Earth wow what an exciting Planet all kinds of things happen I wonder who I'll meet I wonder what experience I'll have oh this is going to be so challenging be so much fun I can't wait I'm going to see the boss the boss didn't want to see I wonder what he wants this going to be fun he's always complains it's fun to watch him it's like what if your mind talk like that what I'm telling you I Gave you an example the other day
and I looked at afterward that's so important you have to give a talk to a class you're not good at public speaking you're always afraid of you don't like it but you got this talk you got yourself ready you got this here's one mind it's your mind now it's your mind I'm honestly asking you which way are you better off one mind sister and says oh my God I can't believe have to do this I screw this up all the time I Don't want to do I could call in sick oh I'll fail the class
I know I'm going to get up there I'm going to freeze I'm going to get everyone's going to laugh at me why why I want to get laughed at this is oh my gu like masochistic to go up there God am I going to blow this this is just ridiculous all right there you get one right got it now all of a sudden we have a whole another thought pattern hey I get to give a talk today I used to be really not good at I'm Getting better at this right and everyone I give I
get better doesn't matter what happens I'll learn something and this is exciting I wonder what it's going to be like I can't wait to get up there I wonder whether I'll get really scared or it's going to be fun to watch if I get really scared I know how to work with him I'll talk to him wow I can't wait to get this this is going to be a neat experience which one you want door number one or door number two It's a big difference isn't it we're both having the same experience we're being honest
we're going to go before I give this talk in the past we haven't been good I didn't change any of the facts did I what I changed was your thought patterns which one of those thought patterns do you prefer have going on inside of you it's not even close is it who's stopping you there's nobody else in there they're your thoughts they're your emotions you have The right for them to be the way you want this is the core of spirituality this is what it means mindfulness what it means to work with yourself this is
what it means G says one should raise the self with self not trample down the self you are in there you are conscious you have the right to work with yourself but I'm telling you until you want to nothing will happen you have to want to that's why I talk to you this way you have to realize this is not a joke this Is the quality of my life you're so interested Ed a lot of you are young you haven't gotten married or had that big special relationship yet you're so interested in meeting this special
person your soulmate right do you know how quick your mind can ruin that relationship in a New York minute all right that's all it has to do is go negative all right I like here here's how bad your mind can be but I I do love her more than anyone I've ever loved Ever before I thought I love Sally but man it wasn't even close ready ready but how do I know there's not somebody else that will even be more than that I mean how many people have I met there's 7even billion people I've only
met a few people I shouldn't get married to the person I love more than anything because I would have married the one before there how you like that mind I'm telling you it does not take hard for that mind to screw everything up all right those Thoughts are trouble so net result is if you want to have a beautiful life and I would like you have a beautiful life you can have a beautiful life period you can enjoy pretty much every moment of your life since the majority of your experience of your life is what
is going on in your thoughts and your emotions they Make It or Break It All right you have to learn how to work with that so you start this way you start with the truth I have noticed there are Things that happen outside that naturally make my thoughts and emotions be nicer and I've noticed there things happen outside that very very naturally make my thoughts and emotions get not very nice all right and if you're not careful you're going to fall into this trap over and over again of saying therefore I should make those things
happen and stop those things from happening keeping it indirect you don't realize what's happening you keep Working with the outside world to try to fix the inside it's sort of like a drug addict or an alcoholic who sits there I'm just not feeling right I need a drink no no no you need to change how you're doing things here but I feel much better with just one snore I'll bet you do all right but this is not how we should be going about this all right it's it's a very indirect way that doesn't last and
doesn't work very well someday you're going to catch on it is Not that different than when you sit there and say for me to feel love I have to find the right person for me to be excited to find the right job for me to be happy I have to find the right environment you understand that words you're appeasing a part of you that's broken by trying to get things outside a certain way so every once in a while you feel okay a wise person catches on and says I live in here my thoughts are
in here my emotions are in here from now on I'm at least going to put a SI don't put all but a sizable percentage of my willpower and my intention to work on my thoughts and my emotions and I I'm serious when I say directly work on my thoughts and my emotions all right now how do you do that first you start with wanting to what does that mean get conscious be aware of your thoughts and your emotions it's called mindfulness called witness Consciousness how do you do that again every time it comes down To
you have to want to I'm taking a shower I am telling you wait till you see what goes on in your thoughts and emotions when you're taking a shower it's going to shock you make it a game it's not a struggle it's not meditation it's not spiritual growth it's not no no no it's it's like a video game yall like video games you like sports it's a sport it's a video game all right and I'm serious I'm not kidding I want you to laugh but I'm not kidding you're about To get in the shower right
stop the water's on you're there you're not in the shower stop stop look and listen stop and realize this one shower I am going to watch what goes on in my thoughts and my emotions while I'm supposed to be washing my body and you will fail you will come out of that shower and you realize you didn't do it in fact if you came out of the shower 15 seconds after getting in you realize you didn't Do it can we talk about that right I mean sometimes you sit there and say I'm going to eat
now you actually make it to the table and actually chew the food and swallow it how often do you say all right I'm going to go eat now when it doesn't happen you know for lunch or dinner going to work do you get there class you get there pretty often well you ain't going to do that without shower I you think I'm kidding you I'm ask you to do much I'm just asking you To watch what your mind says what your thought your mind creates thoughts all right let's get this down to Basics a vacuum
cleaner creates suction a blender creates choppy a TV has pictures has the TV has pictures and and and sound okay your mind is an appliance that creates thoughts you have a mind does it create thoughts do you find thoughts popping up in your mind without you doing anything about it whenever you going have a thought do you have to ask for One no they come up by themselves don't they wonder what I'll do later God why did that happen what whatever it is there's millions billions I don't want to imitate them your mind is a
device an appliance that creates thoughts that's your mind it sits there and it creates thoughts that's what it does your heart is appliance that creates emotions it's spewing out waves these feelings feelings emotions it's kind of neat these are appliances they're not you the Vacuum cleaner is not you the blender is not you the TV is not you the mind that creates thoughts is not you you are the one who is aware that the thoughts are being created you are the one that's aware the emotions are being created you do when you come to me
and you say I'm just so sad see this is why I don't do one-onone cuz you guys I'd be dead after one session you wouldn't right imagine somebody com to a therapist saying I'm just so sad I've Been so depressed for so long you know what I'm going to say to you how do you know what how do you know you're depressed you just told me you've been depressed and you even know how long you've been depressed how do you know you're going to get very mad at me and eventually when you get really frustrated
mad at me you're going to say because I'm in here and I see it's depressing to be in here okay very good You can go home now you're finished in other words you're in here you are in here depression is something your heart and mind are creating they're part of what it can do can your mind have depressing thoughts can your heart feel empty and low and but you are the one that's aware of that can your heart get happy and feel love is it the same you who notices that your heart is sad as
the notice that your heart is Happy is the same you who's There when the thoughts are positive as when the thoughts are negative I just checking there's just one of you this is what it's about you are in there look at your mind as a thought creating machine that's what you have to do and it creates thoughts look at your heart as an emotion creating machine it creates emotions then realize I am the one who's aware of this I am aware these thoughts are going on I'm aware these emotions are going on that is what's
meant by Mindfulness that is what's meant by witness Consciousness Krishna mury used to call it the objective Observer I am observing objectively that this mind these emotions are doing really weird things but I'm the one who notices that's not hard is it why because you are the one who notices I'm not telling you to learn how to be something I'm just just asking you to wake up and pay attention so now you're about to get in the shower all I'm Asking you to do is let that time you're going to use the time anyway no
I don't have time you don't get to say that meditation can say that you can't say about get in the shower I don't have time to do what you're talking about yeah you do doesn't take any time that's it all right I'm not talking about taking time I'm talking about you're getting in the shower and you willfully set an intention I am going to watch what thoughts this device creates while I'm in the shower and I'm going to watch what emotions that device creates and I'm just going to mindfully watch I'm not going to do
a single thing about them not going to judge them get upset I'm not going to do anything but I'm going to we call that staying conscious I'm going to stay centered stay aware stay conscious right during the time that this shower event is taking place so I'm intentionally when I'm doing when I walk in I'm going to be intentionally Doing that the entire time I am taking the shower right and when I walk out I will notice that I stayed in intentionally conscious during the entire time and I will know what my thoughts and emotions
were during the whole time right you will not be able to do it do you know that do you I I I want you to prove me wrong or do I want you to prove me wrong but mostly what I want you to do is try you guys are up for a Sport aren't you you up for some fun you sit there and you watch right and if you can't do it then you try again tomorrow if you can't do it you try again tomorrow you can't do it you try again tomorrow you just make
a game out of it it's sort of like if you decided to play the piano you want to play bov you want to play some hard piano piece but you don't play the piano you don't really think that if you sit down once it's going to happen do you you start with The scales then you add a little bit then you try right or wrong in other words if you really want to do it you can learn to play the piano may not be a concert pianist but you can learn to play the piano do
you understand that if you really want to do this you can learn to become a conscious human being you can learn to maintain that Center of intention I decided I'm going to watch this and I am you fall what does that mean by the way you fall when I say to You you're not going to be able to do it why would I not be able to do it I'm in the shower and the thoughts are going on and a watching hand could you answer me if I asked you why you couldn't do it do
you understand you can't do it you ever tried wait till you try there are going to be these moments of you're gone you're not there that intent to watch is no longer happening and maybe you'll come back or maybe you won't come back till you get out of I have a good idea Before you go in the shower remember when you make that intention write a little note to yourself I am going to watch my thoughts and emotions the entire time in the shower put it down and then see when you get out you look
at the note with you go oh God I'll try again tomorrow if it first you don't succeed try try again all right why can't you do it all right you're washing your arm soap is getting on your arm that's it's fine you don't just stand There watching your thoughts do what you're supposed to be doing in the meantime I'm telling you your thoughts are going to be what happened when you were 12 and where you going to go afterwards and what Sammy said six years ago and it's just going to be doing all that stuff
and here's you're going to watch it happen you're going to be washing your arm going to sit there and say is that a gray hair oh my God I'm just so young no it can't be a gray hair And you're gone and you don't understand that's what I mean by a thought I've never talked to you this close all right you willing to right to you that's not a thought that's me the thought is something else that would be going on when I stop thinking about my I mean not thinking stop I don't a thought
is a thought is a thought that's why I said you look at this as a thought generating machine did that thought come out of your mind are you aware that your mind Said oh it looks like a gray hair did the Mind say that then it's a thought it's just a thought about you and the trouble is it's a thought about you that's so close that you can't stay objectively observing it it's too close it's too interesting to you it's too compelling to you it's too addictive to you it pulls you into it and the
next thing you know you are not there watching the Mind create this thought you are being that thought it's called Losing your Center you lost your Center your Consciousness your willful intented Consciousness got pulled into this thought and it will keep you there maybe the whole day maybe it ruined your year oh my God I'm getting older what oh my God and I'm not even married yet all it took was one thought and you went South you got weird on me and you w ever come back here what's he talking about shower I got no
time for a shower I'm getting gray Already I can't wash my thoughts on my shower I have to think about I watch my thoughts think about what to do about this I didn't think about this yes or no you we're talking about spirituality here doesn't seem like it but in the end I'll show you why this is spirituality why because while you are in there doing that there is no spirituality you're lost you got lost in your mind and your mind is not spiritual it's just a mind right it's just a mind That creates thoughts
and so you eventually get to where you realize you need to learn how to not have that happen you are welcome to think about your gray hair right don't do it in the shower because I said that was practice time for not getting lost in your thoughts if you wish to get out of the shower realize hey I stayed conscious I let go of that thought now was that really a gray hair okay and I think I will put Aside a few minutes to contemplate the gray hair all right you're welcome to intentionally do whatever
you want with your mind this is not mind control but the net result is is I'm telling you you need to practice being able to say I am going to watch these thoughts and emotions and not get lost in them can you see the benefit of that since it is true that the quality of your life is dependent upon the quality of your thoughts and emotions if you are going To work with your thoughts and emotions which I said we can do you have to show up for work if you come to work at my
place but you just had a fight with your boyfriend and girlfriend and all you're doing the entire day every second is thinking about your boyfriend and girlfriend to fight and what you're going to say and try to call don't bother coming to work you didn't come to work you're not present your body may be there but you're not there if you're Going to work on your thoughts and your emotions you need to learn to come to work I'm doing this step by step first is intention you have to realize to the core of your being
this is not a joke this is not a luxury this is not will if I do it I'll go to heaven this is my life there's a quality of my life there's a quity of my relationships is the quality of my job is the quality of my entire life is the quality of my thoughts and emotions therefore I'm Going to work on them but if I can't stay conscious I can't work on them if I keep getting lost in them there's nothing going to happen so you start with intention and then you start with practice
mindfulness practice that's what we talking about that was a mindfulness practice I'm going to go into the shower I'm going to stay conscious I'm going to watch my thoughts and emotions and then I'm going to get out okay and you just practice doing it What if I can't do it then there are things you can do that will help you do it like what just one example I like that you understand this it's a traditional example out of yoga it's called Mantra I don't teach Mantra but you may decide that you want to do it
what does that mean it means I have noticed that when I step across that threshold into that shower I lose I don't want to lose I want to win this sport I need help I Need help cuz I can't make it through the entire shower without getting lost in my thoughts let's just say that right so one thing I can do is before I get in the shower I'll sit there and say God's name just can be anything you want but just just say God's name all right more traditional in in Monas right and I
used to do it you know I would say God's name you I would say God s a good name so I just say God God God you can say love love peace peace I wouldn't advise Saying Sally Sally because if you know someone named Sally and you say Sally you'll say Sally and you'll wonder where she is you you want to pick that's why he's very good if what you say is in Sanskrit or something all right just like if you don't understand what it's saying that's fine I always encourage people to say well he
gave the guru gave me this Mantra it's pretty long I don't know what it means good leave it that way it's like you don't want your mind Involved in this the entire purpose of this is an alternative to the other thoughts in other words if I'm having trouble staying centered because the thoughts that are being created are so powerfully interesting to me that I get lost in them and I lose my intention of watching them you follow me let me create a thought that isn't that way all right so you say God God God and
you practice it before you get in practice practice you practice it during the day So that you stand a chance that when you get in there you can put your Consciousness on that thought instead of all the other ones that are being created all right so basically you're sitting there saying it then all of a sudden you see the gray hair right and it say oh my God a gray hair and somewhere in the background God God God you have a choice there's a there's a little bit of a life raft over there you know
it's like oh my God which do I want To do be the grayhair guy or God God God all right and you learn to lean that way so it did is it started a pattern with your mind that is other than the traditional junk that goes on inside your mind you now have the right to remember that hold it isn't that neat all right is that simple that's they turn malab beats japa beats right they have that sort of thing same thing same thing each time it reminds you your mind starts thinking what and then
you have To turn a bead it becomes a habit every time you turn see I don't do these things all right I used to do some but and I'm not telling you to do them I do not teach techniques but I do want to teach you why you might want to use them I don't care if you make up your own I once told somebody take a 50 cents piece back in the 70s I told him this I said take a 50 cent piece put it in your pocket every 10 minutes take it out of
one pocket put it in the other and I Mean every 10 minutes on the 10 minutes you will become enlightened why it's exactly the same as turning the beads it's exactly the same as saying the Mantra you have to become conscious enough and willful enough to look at that clock every 10 minutes put your hand in your pocket pull that out in other words you can't be lost in your thoughts you can't be lost in what's going on outside do you understand that it is a mindful practice we use the word Now mindful nobody used
that before it's they call it now that's the big key word mindful practice now do you see why it's called mindful it means you have set an intention for yourself and it will cause you to transcend and all this noise going on inside your mind so there's an example another one is this thing called meditation what's that well if I'm going to practice the piano I take time aside to sit down and play the piano if I'm going to practice watching my mind so That I can work with it what's wrong with taking a little
time aside where there's not all this busy stuff going on outside and all this input that's happening and sit down and watching my mind it's actually intentional time that I'm not showering I just put the time aside that I am going to for 10 or 15 minutes watch what goes on inside my mind and my heart so that's stage two any of these things is I want to change this because it's going to change my Life and I now am going to do practices that teach me to be present all right now what happens now
here comes the big stuff I'm going deeper what if I become present and you can become present a lot of people say to me I I love when they say that are you saying that when I'm talking to somebody and they're talking to me that I'm supposed to be there aware of what my mind is doing yes they say it as though what are you crazy how could I do that how could I be aware of What my mind is doing when it's trying to figure out what to say when the other person stops talking
I told you once that's another one I told you the showers one you want another one like the shower I started there because it's so neutral I'll give you graduate school all right when someone is talking to you listen to them you won't be able to do it this gets really embarrassing all right I'm telling you you will not be able to Do it you will be listening to what your thoughts have to say about what they're saying and you will be listening to what your thoughts have to say about what you're going to say
back when they finally stop talking and whether you agree with what they're saying and what's your opinion hey Sally I just got a new car your thoughts while I'm talking about oh it's really great ah I don't want one I can't afford it anyways I don't even Want one you're not listening about my car it's stimulated your thought patterns about what your car yeah mine's old too look at you you get a lucky car God I don't want to be around you you got this car I don't like listen to this that's what you're doing
while I'm trying to describe my car to you guilty or not right and you just realize I'm a mess yeah that's right and I'm telling you it's ring your life because the quality of your thoughts and Emotions are determining the quality of your life and those thoughts and emotions do not have a quality that you want to live with so if you want to do something about them first you have to be present so you have to learn to not get lost in them I gave you techniques you can do many different things the main
thing is intention and the fun part is once you can do it with your shower or play with the shower now try brushing your teeth now try what you're eating You know just once in a while pay attention when you're talking to somebody I gave you that one when they're talking to you I mean right when they're talking to you wow watch what goes on in your thoughts and emotions now you said to me that I could work with them what do I do you've already done 50 to 60% of it I'm telling you you're
almost done what do you mean what used to happen is they would start and you would get lost in them that's what Ruined your life not that you had a thought so I have a thought it's that I get involved in it and I get lost in it and it determines the entire rest of my day the fact that I had a thought you step on the scale I gained a pound oh my God pound today five tomorrow I'm not going to be able to fit my clothes but I can't afford to buy more clothes
oh my God what am I going to do when I gave 15 pounds it does things like that and then it does it all day and the next thing You know you're not happy the next thing you know you you just ruined your life with your thought patterns but your thoughts will say but it's true I'm telling you you can't listen to these things I just want to ask a very simple question if you're eating food and it's making you sick do you keep eating it why do you not stop listening to thoughts that are
ruining your life and making you sick especially ones that you're just making up and so You learn to be there the very Act of learning to be there and now what do you do about it you don't do anything well you make me want to cry CU you thought once you're there now I roll up your sleeves and nope I tried that it's not the way to do it all right I love that nowadays so much of the teachings of apost and so many different things are everything I learned all right it's like it's really
Beautiful is the highest thing you can do with your thoughts is not get involved in them you don't have to change them you have to make sure they don't happen it doesn't matter if you step on the scale and your mind says oh my God I gained the pound and then it goes away and you don't do the next set you don't get on the train the train of thoughts if the Mind wants to create a thought it's a thought creating machine Ma have fun you're so cute look how cute you are you create so
many thoughts all right the question and this is really getting to graduate school the question question is not does the Mind create thoughts the question is do you get involved in them this is about you this is not about your mind it's the same thing with your emotions if you the Consciousness the awareness of being can let a thought get created yet maintain your Center what you do is you lean away From them the thought gets created you see it starts to get interesting you just relax and lean away you have the right it's your
mind if there's a thought pattern that you know is addictive to you that is just a repetitive stupid thing and I was nice about the weight let's do one that's close right oh God I'm so lonely but no one will ever love me no they won't why would they I don't even I I God if they even knew me they would hate me to Pieces right some people have thoughts like that yes or no do people have thoughts like that you ever had thoughts like that well that's healthy that'll make for a nice life how
can you have a nice life if you got that going on inside of you all right you you said something and you got embarrassed right 6 days ago and it keeps going God if I hadn't said that I don't want to see those people again every oh my God I'm so Embarrassed it's ridiculous why did I say that why did I say that that making for a nice life no then why are you tolerating that so what you do is you learn that this is serious that's why I started to talk the way I did
this is not about mind control it's about the quality of your life your entire life there's nothing more important than what we're talking about is there all right so first you learn to be conscious then you let the thoughts go you got to let This stuff go learn to let it go how by relaxing when it comes relax don't struggle just relax and what you're going to find is that's all you need to do you do not need to control your thoughts you don't need to remake your mind you don't need to do anything you
just need to let them go if you don't get involved in them you're not giving them the power you're not giving them the electricity they need in order to have control over you and next thing you Know just these thoughts that like cars that drive by you let cars drive by you let White Lines drive by you let trees go by you let people go by don't you what if you didn't you'd be an erotic mess what if every single car that went to drive by you had to figure who it was and why was
it doing that why didn't stop and pay attention you'd be going crazy wouldn't you you do that with your thoughts let them go that is what is meant by letting go just Let them go the mind has the right to create thoughts the heart has the right to create emotions can you handle that that's the question can you handle but all of a sudden I was happy and my heart got sad it just got sad it felt like the energy dropped out from under it okay is that okay with you what do you mean did
you hear me the I said I know I understand it's happened to me a million times how about you you you know what I'm talking about it get sad and felt Like it went down four floors just dropped out from under it okay it's something the heart does sometimes I want to know is that okay with you or we're going to make a big melodrama out of it you are in there you're a very high being do not tell me that you can't handle that your heart hurts a little bit just relax it will come
and it will go you just don't let yourself get lost in these changes that your mind and your emotions do does that make sense to you They will come in they they will go just like everything else does I want you to see them as cars driving by I want you to talk about clouds in the sky they're just clouds that form in the sky and then they pass they're thoughts that form in your mind and then they pass if you don't get involved in them they do not make any difference and then you get
to get on with the next moment the next moment and you're going to find if you do that that you're a much happier Person and I mean much happier why would you not be there's two types of problems that you can have in your life one is a real problem there's something going on outside that is causing damage that is you know somebody's hitting you there's a lion jumping at you you know there's something going on your house is on fire you know there's actually something out there that you best be dealing with because this
is a destructive situation there is such a thing do you understand That a tsunami is coming at you fine that's one type of problem that can cause disturbance in your life there's another type of problem the one you create with your mind and your emotions what if I get older and I don't find my soulmate and then I get older and then I get past my my biological clock stop ticking you can create hell for yourself right now you don't need any situations going on outside do you I'm telling you that 95 to 99% of
all of your problems in life are self-generated they don't happen how many times you thought and worried about something that never happened compared to how many actually did happen it's not even close so you are in there ruining your own life and all I'm asking you to do I'm begging you stop it you are doing this nobody else is doing this and therefore there's no reason for it you understand that this is such a simple talk if you think that You're going to find somebody that's going to fix that you're wrong you never have and
you never will you need to do this you're doing it inside of you you need to stop doing it so and and by the way for those of you who really paid attention don't do it and then try to do something on top that makes it okay if you're meditating because you're screwing yourself up and maybe meditation will make it better no if you're in there saying I don't like Myself but that's kind of like really bad and so you want to do a mantra stop it stop it stop it don't words don't do it
and then do something on top of it to make it tolerable that's not inner work your inner work is to stop doing it I'm helping you skip about 10,000 pitfalls on your spiritual growth stop buying in to the absurdity that your thoughts and emotions are doing to you just let them go all right and if you learn to let them go they Will and then what's going to happen to you is this really amazing process is going to happen I'm not going to have time I'm not going to go into it but all of a
sudden the reason for all of these thoughts and emotions being the way they are is going to start to come up the core or you'll start thinking about what mommy did you'll have a dream about daddy you'll have a dream about Uncle George you'll have a dream about your first boyfriend or husband like the Stuff that you stored in your mind that is making your mind be so sick you understand that you stored all that drunk didn't you right it's going to start coming up by itself because you stopped getting all involved in its garbage
it has an opportunity to cleanse and it does it all by itself all right if you do this and you stop getting all involved in the junk so that then it can't come up because you're playing with it you understand that and you just Let go and learn to let go then the bigger stuff's going to come up but since you learned how to play scales you can play a little bit of faraka now you play faka you play a little bit of you know easier thing then you can place some bait over now that
you learned how to let go of the everyday showering thoughts and the everyday driving thoughts right you just let these things go and you learn to listen to somebody and let go of all your judgments and all Your thoughts now all of a sudden when your stuff comes up you can let it go and I'm telling you once you start doing that we're going to close out I said to you I said you're in there and you're conscious of three things what is in front of you what's coming through your senses the thoughts that are
created by your mind the emotions that are created by your heart if you will do what I've taught you you don't know where it comes from and it Will happen though I promise you there will be a fourth thing all of a sudden there'll be something going on inside that wasn't there before it's a flow of energy it's not an emotion it's not coming from your heart it's not a thought it's not coming from your mind just this this flow of energy it's like a current or a rush of water that's flowing behind behind deeper
than the Mind deeper than the heart and all a sudden your Consciousness starts being Aware that there's this current this upward uplifting flow we call it Chi we call it shui they call it spirit it's a real thing there's real energy that can Rush up inside of you that is not an emotion and what you'll find if you do it long enough you start working with this is all that energy was always there but it was busy creating all your thoughts and getting all involved in your thoughts and getting all tied up in your emotions
it was wasted as you learn To let go of these things and you become more free in there the flow it flows Freer and eventually it gets stronger and stronger until eventually it's it's sustaining you literally right that's what the Bible means what it says man does not live by bread alone but by every word that leaveth the mouth of the father you will know exactly what Christ meant by that I will send unto the Holy Spirit the great comforter and all things shall be revealed unto you there There be no question in your mind
what's meant by that once you start living off that energy that is where a spiritual being lives they live off that energy they talk about just Joy love rushing up inside of them if you somebody once asked yoganand why do the great Masters look at they're sleeping all the time their eyes are never fully open are they tired because they meditate all night right no he said no it is because the Ecstasy that's pouring inside of them is So strong that they can't fully bring their Consciousness out it's like when you fall in love when
you're madly in love with some you're in their presence you don't look at them your eyes are closed I'm so glad to have you here there's all this love is pouring inside of you you're pulled into this beautiful beautiful state of energy inside yourself you have felt that flow it's rare when the Mind stops then and the Heart opens completely and then this Beautiful upward Rush of uplifting energy carries you away from yourself it's called a spiritual experience you start having that all the time it starts spontaneously overcoming you because you have let go of
your mind you have stopped getting being lost in your mind you'll start to realize that you who's in there are beautiful you the experiencer is something very very great but you lost yourself in what you're experiencing and so as you learn to let Go of that you find yourself it's called self-realization you find who you are that's what Buddha found that's what Christ found and that's what all the great beings have found all of you are that great all right so this thing about letting go of the negativity of the thoughts and emotions that's just
a fringe benefit you get rid of that junk right then the real nice stuff starts happening which is you start being filled with love you can be filled with Love you can be filled with joy now come out and play right come out and have a good time I want you to enjoy every moment of your life if something goes wrong I mean really wrong I want you to have fun trying to fix it it's like when you play a sport do you want to play a team that you can win against all the time
you want to play the best team that ever was so you can get better at it if something happens outside it's really challenging come on let's play not I'm Scared there's nothing to be scared of because you're being fed from inside you don't need anything outside it doesn't mean you don't deal with things doesn't mean you don't be the best doctor the best nurse the best student whatever it is but you do it because it's fun you do it for the same reason you play sports okay and the same thing with your relationships it's fun
you don't need it doesn't make any difference you're whole and complete within yourself if you're Sh share it with somebody else that's a wonderful blessing wonderful thing but you're fine so I started with pure psychology you have thoughts and emotions and they're affecting the quality of your life and I end it with God right mayor Baba I'll stop with one of the great Saints mayor Baba said man minus mind equals God now do you understand man minus mind equals God man plus mind equals OMG cherness oh
