if you use a massage gun on your neck in a normal way it vibrates the head too much and can cause dizziness headaches or even more serious symptoms but here's a little technique that you can use to use a massage gun on your neck safely percussion massage guns are essentially a little Jackhammer so using one directly on your neck or your head could cause irritation to the brain or the spinal cord so never use a massage gun above this point in the normal way using it at right angles to the body and never use a
massage gun at the side or the front of your neck because there are major blood vessels nerves and blood pressure centers in that area but if you use a foam ball tip and you use it parallel to the body rather than at right angles you're rubbing along the body rather than hammering into it so you could use this technique at the back of the neck along the muscles each side of the spine right up to the base of the neck here's seven really important do's and don'ts one don't use your massage gun over the spinous
processes of the neck vertebra in the middle of the spine it's stick to each side of the spine two don't press in hard against the muscles just resting the side of the foam ball against the skin is enough three keep your neck neutral and upright not flexed forward because that tightens the neck muscles which will add to brain vibration four support the elbow of the hand holding the massage gun so that the shoulder muscles that extend up into the neck are not tense five use a foam ball tip only and I don't recommend using this
technique with massage guns that have a penetration depth of more than 10 to 12 millimeters six the first time you try this only use the massage gun for 30 seconds on a low speed setting to test how you go just in case your neck is inflamed if it hurts a bit afterwards you should be icing your neck not using a massage gun if it feels okay afterwards the next day you can do up to two minutes in this area gently but never do more than that if you want to do more you can use the
massage gun on the shoulder muscles at the base of the neck because many of the muscles down in this area extend up into the neck I'll leave a link in the description box below to a video on how to work on that area seven and don't use a massage gun in this area if you have headaches dizziness high blood pressure or other medical conditions that should be listed in your massage gun safety manual anyway I hope you liked the video if you did please consider liking and subscribing because it always helps and let me know
how you go in the comment section below okay cheers
