did you know as a Christian your dressing style indirectly or directly has a negative influence on your spiritual life and that of those around you in this video I will explain what really happens in the spiritual realm when a person dresses indecently now I know this is a very sensitive subject as most people might argue that our dressing or how we present ourselves has nothing to do with our spiritual lives but is this what the bible really teaches well not really from the moment you become born again you are immediately bought by Christ the word
born again literally means born from above this means you are now fully owned by God and therefore your body completely belongs to him this also therefore means from the moment you accept Jesus as your lord and savior you immediately become a representative of God and his kingdom both physically and spiritually it also means your lifestyle and how you present yourself to the world also becomes a message now throughout my years I've often heard the argument that God only looks at our hearts and not our outward appearance but this statement is not entirely accurate you see
this particular passage from the Bible has been abused for centuries twisted and manipulated to justify all sorts of dressings it has been completely taken out of context to suit The Narrative of the wearer God looks at both our inner and outer selves he created us as whole beings body and spirit to think that he only looks at one aspect of our existence is quite frankly naive and potentially dangerous let's look at the scripture that's often misused to support this claim in the first book of Samuel 16:7 it says the Lord said unto Samuel look not
on his countenance or on the height of his stature because I have refused him for the Lord seeth not as man seeth for man lookth on the outward appearance but the Lord lookth on the heart this verse was spoken when Samuel was about to choose the next king of Israel God was instructing Samuel not to choose based on physical appearance alone as he had rejected Saul who looked kingly but had a disobedient heart this verse had nothing to do with dressing at all context is always crucial but here is where things get a little interesting
in the spiritual realm there are what we call seductive Spirits usually these Spirits cannot manifest or Express themselves to the world without a physical body so what they do is to look for a person through which they can manifest and express their personality now Naturally Speaking everyone is born and pre-programmed by God to be decent from birth this means that even a little child knows to hide or cover themselves as they grow this is instilled from birth but what happens is that when the spirit of Seduction enters a person that spirit will do everything possible
to express itself through that individual and one of of its primary ways of manifesting its personality is by making that person always try to expose themselves by dressing seductively now the funniest thing is that the person in question might never even know that he or she is being influenced to be that way when that person is filled with such a spirit they might continuously find themselves being drawn to dressing indecently so even where there are many decent clothes around that person will still prefer to dress in a way that reveals parts of their body because
the spirit in them is actively trying to express itself through their body to them they might feel it Simply Fashion but in reality it is the spirit of nudity and seduction that is actively driving them to always want to expose themselves or dress half naked in an unhealthy way in Mark chapter 5 the Bible speaks of a demon-possessed man who lived in the tombs the Bible described him as being naked and Always In Chains but something happened when Jesus cast out the evil spirits from him into the pigs the Bible says the man who had
been possessed by demons was later found fully dressed and in his right mind this tells us something crucial the spirits that were previously in control of him were responsible for making him walk around naked but when he was set free he himself felt the need to dress up now someone might argue that they have parts of their bodies covered but this isn't necessarily the case the real question is how does it look to God and to the world just because a person might have some clothes on but then reveal other sensitive parts of their body
doesn't mean they are dressed it is very possible to be dressed and yet naked at the same time in fact let me say this there is no true born again Christian who will comfortably expose themselves and then claim that it doesn't matter that's impossible because he or she knows that they have been bought by Christ and so their body no longer belongs to them the moment they put on something inappropriate the holy spirit in them will immediately set off an alarm this is known as conviction if any Christian dresses half naked and feels nothing wrong
with it it therefore means that the Christian in question has either had their conscience seared or that Christian is not really filled with the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:20 clearly states for you were bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are Gods notice that it clearly says we must glorify God both in our body and in our spirit think about it if someone were to look at you would they see a reflection of Christ's character or would they see someone indistinguishable from the world our clothing choices are
a part of our testimony they speak volumes about our values our priorities and our relationship with God you see what you wear often reflects what you are on the inside it is true that a person should not be judged judged based on what they wear but the reality is that not all dressing styles are innocent certain clothes or dressing Styles carry negative energy and when you put on such clothes and walk past the streets the spirits in you begin to release an unclean presence this is what makes people have an unclean desire towards you remember
I said when a person is influenced by a spirit of lust or Seduction That spirit will do everything in its power to express itself through that individual this explains why some sometimes you might be in the presence of someone and suddenly feel overwhelmed by a strong lustful energy around them it's not just about the clothes it's about the spiritual force behind them now if you continue to dress that way over an extended period of time what will happen is that the spirits that operate in such atmosphere will begin to weaken your willpower that means it
will begin to attract the wrong type of attention toward you and when these wrong types of people come around you you will find yourself too weak or unable to resist their Temptation because the spirit in you is actively weakening your willpower which in turn makes it very easy for you to fall into sexual immorality this is why there are some clothes that when a person wears it might make them feel sensual or seductive there is another which they might wear and it makes them struggle with lust all of these are not coincidences there is an
active Spirit playing a role behind the scenes this is also why there is a rise in teenage pregnancies worldwide because the devil reduces the clothing standards and so you find young teenage girls who have just barely left school already becoming lose the aim of the devil is to attack their future by making them lose at a very young age so although the person putting on the clothes might feel she is just trying to look good that person is unknowingly being a vessel of lust at that time now I know you might be thinking but I'm
not responsible for someone else else's thoughts well that's true to an extent but not completely while we can't control others thoughts entirely we can certainly influence them when you choose to dress in a way that's specifically designed to provoke lustful attention you're essentially setting a stumbling block before others in Romans chap 14:13 we are instructed that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother's way the Greek word for stumbling block here is proma which means an obstacle that causes one to trip or fall when we dress immodestly we're placing
spiritual obstacles in the paths of those around us when we consistently dress in a way that incites lust we're essentially aligning ourselves with the spirit of lust and seduction it's like we're opening a door in our spiritual lives inviting these negative influences in and here's the thing once opened they're not always easy to close remember I said every spirit always seeks to express itself through the vessel it possesses the saddest part is if you look closely you will discover that this Spirit has slowly crept into the church hardly do you go to the house of
God and find decent clothing nowadays it is practically very difficult to distinguish between the world from the church this is not to judge Christians not at all but we must remember the Bible says in the book of 2 Timothy 2: 19 nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure having this seal the Lord knoweth them that are his and let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity this means God has a standard I know someone might ask but what about if you dress decently to church but dress in revealing clothes when you go
out well to that I will say that would be classed as inconsistency technically speaking there is no such thing as a church clothes what I mean is that God expects us to dress modestly in and out of the church if we dress modest ly inside the church then we must dress modestly outside the church Romans 12:2 says and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God that means we are the ones to prove
to the world what is good what is acceptable and what is the perfect will of God not the other way round so if we're constantly dressing seductively and allowing ourselves to to be vessels for lust those spirits will try to manifest themselves through Us in Matthew 5:28 Jesus said whosoever lookth on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart now I want you to pay close attention to the language Jesus used here Jesus didn't just say you have sinned against her he said you have sinned with her the
key word there is the word with this is a crucial distinction that many overlook the Greek word used for with in this verse is ought which means a mutual action or state this suggests that both parties the one lusting and the one being lusted after are involved in the act of adultery when someone lusts after you because of your immodest dressing you're not just an innocent bystander spiritually speaking you're both actively participant in adultery this is why you might sometimes find yourself struggling with lustful thoughts out of nowhere as you continually present yourself as an
object of lust you're attracting and entertaining spirits of lust and seduction these Spirits don't just affect others they begin to work in your own life too as people actively lust after you due to your dressing the spirits behind the lust also attack you this is especially true if you dress provocatively on purpose once these Spirits gain a foothold you might find yourself becoming more preoccupied with your appearance constantly seeking attention and validation through your your looks this can lead to a whole host of other issues Pride vanity insecurity and even more severe forms of sexual
immorality the more you give into these urges the stronger they become before you know it you're not just dressing immodestly we're becoming conduits for the very Spirits we should be fighting against in the second book of Corinthians 5:20 we're told now then we are ambassadors for Christ as though God did beseech You by us we pray you in Christ stead be ye reconciled to God as ambassadors for Christ every aspect of Our Lives should reflect his character this includes how we present ourselves to the world when we dress immodestly we're not just potentially causing others
to stumble we're misrepresenting the one we claim to serve consider this when you're going for a job interview or working in a corporate environment you likely dress in a certain way to show respect and professionalism you wouldn't show up up in Beach wear or pajamas would you of course not you understand that your attire communicates something about your attitude and respect for the position and the company now if we are willing to adhere to dress codes for Earthly employers how much more should we as ambassadors of the king of kings dress in a way that
honors him and the position he's given us our God whose eyes are too pure to look upon evil according to the book of habakuk 1:3 deserve deserves nothing less than our utmost reverence in every aspect of Our Lives including our clothing choices plus the Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the holy spirit in the first book of Corinthians 6: 19 to 20 we read what know ye not that your body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you which ye have of God and ye are not your own for
ye are bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are gods with this in mind how can we justify dressing in a way that turns this Holy Temple into a billboard for lust and seduction it's not just inappropriate it's sacrilegious we are taking what God has Sanctified and using it for purposes that directly contradict his will now I know someone might argue but I'm not trying to seduce anyone I just like how I look in these clothes and to that I would say intention isn't everything in the book
of First Thessalonians 5:22 we're instructed to abstain from all appearance of evil the Greek word for appearance here is idus which doesn't just mean how something looks but also its form or kind in other words we're called to avoid anything that even resembles evil regardless of our intentions this is where discernment comes in we need to be honest with ourselves about the message our clothing sends are we dressing in a way that glorifies God and respects the sanctity of our bodies or are we perhaps unintentionally presenting ourselves in a way that could cause others to
stumble some might also argue that modesty standards are cultural and therefore subjective while it's true that specific dress codes can vary between cultures the principle of modesty is universal and Timeless in the first Timothy chapter 2: 9 to 10 we read in like manner also that women Adorn themselves in apparel with shamefacedness and sobriety not with broided hair or gold or pearls or costly array but which becometh women professing godliness with good works this passage isn't giving us a specific dress code but rather a principle to follow the emphasis is on adorning ourselves with good
works rather than flashy or provocative outfits it's about where we're placing our value and what we're trying to communicate through our appearance now I want to address something that might be on some of your minds you might also be thinking isn't it your right to express yourself however you want and to that I would say as Believers we are called to a higher standard in Galatians 5:13 we are told ye have been called unto Liberty only use not Liberty for an occasion to the flesh but by love serve one another our freedom in Christ isn't
a license to do whatever we want it's a call to love and serve others even if that means sacrificing our personal preferences when we choose modesty we're not just protecting ourselves we're showing love to our Brothers and Sisters in Christ we're creating an environment where people can focus on God without distraction we're valuing the sanctity of our bodies and the bodies of others in Matthew 5: 14-16 Jesus said ye are the light of the world a city that is set on an Hill cannot be hid neither do men light a candle and put it under
a bushel but on a Candlestick and it giveth light unto all that are in the house let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven as Believers we're called to be different from the world Our Lives should Point people to Christ when we dress like the world chasing after the latest revealing Trends we're dimming our light we're blending in when we should be standing out now I want to be clear this isn't about legalism or imposing a strict dress code it's about aligning
our hearts with God's Will and allowing that inner transformation to manifest in our outward appearance it's about recognizing the value and sanctity of our bodies and dressing in a way that honors God and respects others in Romans 12: 1-2 we're instructed I beseech you therefore Brethren by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a Living Sacrifice holy acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will
of God presenting our bodies as living sacrifices includes how we dress it's about surrendering our desire to be noticed or admired for our physical appearance and instead seeking to glorify God in everything including our clothing choices as we wrap up this discussion I want to challenge you to take a hard look at your wardrobe and your heart are your clothing choices reflecting your identity in Christ are they honoring God and serving others or are they potentially causing stumbling blocks and opening doors to spiritual attack remember as Believers we're called to a higher standard we're called
to be in the world but not of it this includes how we present ourselves through our clothing choices in the first book of Peter 3: 3 to 4 were given this instruction whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of platting the hair and of wearing of gold or of putting on of apparel but let it be the hidden man of the heart in that which is not corruptible even the ornament of a Meek and quiet Spirit which is in the sight of God of great price this doesn't mean we can't care about our
appearance at all rather it's about where we place our emphasis Are we more concerned with our outward appearance or with with cultivating a gentle and quiet Spirit are we seeking the admiration of others or the approval of God as we close I want to encourage you to seek God's wisdom in this area ask him to show you if there are any areas of your wardrobe that need to be addressed pray for discernment and the strength to make changes if necessary remember our bodies are not our own they were bought at a price the precious blood
of Jesus Christ let's honor that Sacrifice by presenting ourselves in a way that glorifies him and serves others thank you for watching if you love our videos please feel free to subscribe to our YouTube channel
