[Music] foreign [Music] a name genuinely created because of lighting and because you were able to film videos in one section of a parking garage is that correct yes that's correct um we were we were just trying to film videos and we were just trying to find a spot where the lighting is okay as you Said and then we just figured out yeah elevator is fine so we took the opportunity but it was a rainy day yeah it was really rainy so I'm confused do you go to music or does music go to you what do
you mean like who has the con like you you meet each other because you start doing for lack of a better like way to define it like hot boy content yeah on the internet but that doesn't necessarily like translate into uh They should make records they should tour and be a group they should I don't know you know make music the likes of I mean so many boy bands so many just groups that have come before do you know what I'm saying so yeah do you go to music or does music come to you it
actually starts a little way back when we started off as friends actually we're all from the same town in Germany we like Lewis and I have known each other for 10 years for example we all Sort of been friends and became friends and sort of started off together in that that way we grew into it together and um music has always been like a a part of everything like Tick Tock obviously combines like a little bit of acting and the music compartments like we're I'd say we we have an ear for music and hopefully a
voice for it too you know but with a lot of training and dedication and stuff we decided that we want to do it and now there's more to it Yeah yeah like backgrounds of music for him for example he went to a musical school like his whole time and um no one really knows about it like yeah every one of us can can sing I would say and um like we we all like sang you know childhood really really often really really much and we all love music we all um share this passion forever and
we always wanted to do it and since we had the opportunity through Tick Tock and Through like the elevator thing uh what happened and um yeah since then we we decided someday yeah let's let's make the decision and let's start a boy band I think over the last two years we just realized that everything we dream of if we put a lot of work in it and we really believe in it that we can make it happen with a lot of training and we started making music we've been here till a the first time and
went to the studio and it sounded nice in the end I really enjoyed It the process of being creative and like producing music and then we were like oh yeah but maybe we're afraid of getting to the next step from social media to music I don't know like it's so much fun let's just do it and just like work hard for it and it will work out yeah I feel like we we all love the process of how we can create music it's like so much more than just filming a tick tock for example it's
so like short term like you film Tick Tock it's like I don't know maybe an hour of time you waste and then um then it's up then you uploaded it and um in music we find like this creative place where we can really focus on it and can really get into it more properly and um like work on it like a longer time you know and to express our feelings right yeah exactly it's like more more deep and that's what we want and what we wanted like since two years ago how many Records have you
finished so far it's about 30 30 songs yeah yeah I like demos they're all demo like yeah so we do a lot of sessions where we just hang out even either in the studio or just at home with producer friends of ours years and sometimes even a songwriter and then we just sit together and we start a Beat from scratch we try to make try to set like um a direction that the song is supposed to go in like a Vibe and then we start Making the top lines and everything and we work on the
beat together and um yeah I think so far we've finished about 30 songs but probably none of them are going to be they're not mastered yet yeah so a lot of them have good potential and we listen to them all the time we win the car or like taking a shower but like yeah let's see if they can make it I think it's a normal thing in the music industry like you produce so many songs And you put out like that one which is really good and yeah we put our first one out now what
now are you going like how are you setting up sessions or are you just making music between you guys like are you bringing producers writers what is it yeah um you know as I just said we normally we set up a session and we say okay we've got uh spare time in this day this Day this day and then we ask producers to come around either to our place we've got like a little a little bit of a studio set up in our home which is very very uh rudimentary but it works so we've got
um two mics um and then we've got speakers and a few instruments um and then that's it and then we just connect the producer's laptop and we hook it up and then we start yeah making A song together and then sometimes we even have a songwriter with us but most of the time at the moment we actually write our own songs oh yeah but also sometimes like when we get some ideas when we're on the plane wherever we just open um voice notes yeah and it's like um I don't know it's like seeing something in
when we have idea and sometimes when we're not able to produce something with the producer we just like Go on ourselves sit in our living room it's like opening garage band or something like that like and just like start to produce something so correct me if I'm wrong you guys started and founded your own music management company yeah yeah just did that right before we came here right right before we flew to a week ago but I think two to conclude your question um we have an amazing team since like one and a half years
now we founded a Company like a normal artist management that sort of like manages us and helps us bring like tie all those connections music wise or obviously like set all the appointments with producers and stuff and right now we're on the look to further develop our team into music as well so that we have like a great music team around us too like working hand in hand with our actual team that we have right now already and um yeah we always say it and we can't say it enough we Couldn't we couldn't make it
without them so like we have an amazing team in our back that's always helping us out it's teamwork whose idea really was it to come together and form a group uh I like Jacobs right no not really I would say it's like you know like groups they just like form you know like they just not always but for us like for us you know we were not like a cast of boy band or whatever so like since that we started off as as regular friends and Somehow social media happened to us and we enjoyed it
to entertain the people give them a smile during covet and that's that's why we just like kept on doing it and at some point I would say when we started to film videos together did cheerleader effect helped us so um yeah and since then we realized that there's a there's a power behind it and um yeah and then it's just like it was it just started rolling I would say when You're sitting down to write a record like how are you managing all of your stories to tell it into one song like what is that
process like are you kind of all like championing records when you're writing it how does it work it's an advances but it's a disadvantage at the same time because we can all write we can all write songs and like form us together then but that's difficulty when we have to combine everything like the one guy wants to say this the one guy Wants to say that um so that's difficult but we all manage it right now so it's pretty cool right now it's like a puzzle somehow yeah it's like we create a topic we have
more options yeah I guess yeah that's more options yeah options but it definitely takes time to like put it all together because um we know from a lot of other of our artist friends that um like sometimes they come up to us and Be like yo hold on how much time do you spend in the studio like I just go in there I spend like an hour two hours I have like a roughly finished song as like they have a layout at least and then yeah they they see if they like it enough and then
they go home afterwards but for us we normally sit in a session for like 12 hours plus just trying to combine everything and put everything into a perfect perspective and that everybody's happy with it as well which Is annoying sometimes but it's also a lot of fun and I think at that point it's important to mention too that we're obviously we're not we were not born in the music industry like we're transitioning into it right now we started like um nine months ago-ish with like a lot of vocal sessions and producing sessions and stuff and
we're slowly sort of um with a lot of determination getting into it now but we're obviously not Pros it so we love To develop into it more and like respect the art behind it because we don't just want to like put out a song and be like oh yeah we're musicians now like we really want to be serious about it and actually like understand and be able to master eventually the art of Music one day so that's what we're doing right that's how I produce 30 songs already I mean it's all about like trying to
Arrow too wait let me put this here yeah refund it all yourself Yeah sorry the the fund everything yourself right now yeah we're independent yeah yeah cool yeah yeah so pretty sick yeah right like to kind of beholden to nobody yeah no not really it's just like just us as a group with our team we're like we're a whole Union and it's like also everyone asks us okay who's paying for a house for example in LA and we're like sometimes we stay here we stay here already for three months in a row stuff Like that
and it's like it's also kind of a risk you know because we're just like all the like a lot of the money we earned we just like reinvest in our future and in our dreams yeah so it's like yeah we just like try to make our Dream reality and that's that's what we're here for respect I mean like I really do respect that like thank you everything is invested in what you're doing so you have to believe in it yeah we do we do do you think there's A hole in the marketplace right now for
you guys to really shine like what is the driving motivation behind there really being a boy group as opposed to like you know there's some thought has to go into it being at the right time no yeah definitely yeah especially with like all the 2 000 Trends coming back you know the 90s trends like back then Backstreet Boys and then later on One Direction they ruled the industry in the boy band Sector but right now there's especially with um with um uh BDS BTS um being kind of like um a little bit more in the
background right now because of the whole thing that got going on at home um I think there's a little bit of like an empty space in the market and hopefully we'll be able to fill that right but I also wouldn't say that this is the driving Factor where we why we're Doing music now even if there was a lot of competition competitions always good yeah obviously in the music industry if there's a space that we can fill that'll be better but it's not the driving factor it's more like um that we've been in in the
public eye a little bit since two years now and we like we sort of we were going into this direction we enjoy it which we're happy about though and um I don't know then just one day we just started making Music or like trying it out and we had so much fun again behind it like the the art of like creating creating music that we just I don't know we had I looked at the boys and they all just had fire in their eyes like a baby like about a year ago when we did the
first songs and then I know we just thought hey why don't we want to do it if we have so much fun fun with it so that's when like we started and like we we weren't sure if we were gonna release something at all but like We had a bunch of vocal coachings a bunch of sessions produce a lot of songs we're like all right let's let's do it you bring up BTS you know K-pop groups and BTS in particular they look at each member as like a different color and they all come together to
build a different like a very unique painting that's unique to them and all the differences like what they'll obviously have similarities are you all different from one another and and how so in which Ways yeah completely so especially every one of us has like his own storyline besides of the old elevator boys theme so for example Jacob is allowed into high fashion Tim just found his own company and so does every one of us have like his own path and from character sites we like all young boys having fun together we all matching really good
um that what's make it what's make it so authentic but we have all like different different differences or in our Characters yeah yeah yeah over the last few years still studying sorry school's important kind of it is yeah but that's also the reason why sometimes it's so hard to decide on what song We want to make because he's shouting let's make something with more rock influence or something more grungy and then he's like no let's make a soft Boy guitar song everybody's just saying something different and then at the end Of the day we try
to combine it all but yeah it is it can be hard yeah the one boy is like heartbroken the other one wants to do a good website yeah everything of it but like imagine we're living now together in the elevator mansion in Berlin for over two years no you know like that kind of two years now two years two years um and one flat like all five of us plus our cameraman six Boys in their early 20s you can imagine that it's uh crazy Roller coaster yeah it's messy that's what that's what it is yeah
maybe how did you guys choose runaway to be the debut single it's like the one of the songs we relate the most with it so the song Runaway in total is about that one person that grounds you and makes you feel like you're on vacation and yeah that's a thing we can really relate to run away from stress and like forget the world around you it's not a thing we can Relate as we couldn't relate the last two years but we did like a small vacation last week and that was like the the feelings we
wanted to experience yeah as as Jacob already said especially in the last two years living together six boys and one in one like traveling together living together doing everything together and then also with all the stuff that we did online and with Tick Tock and social media and also some pressure that came with it as well Of obviously for sure um sometimes you just have the feeling of like or we got the feeling that we just wanted to run away just like get take your favorite person and then just go away just leave everything behind
for like a little bit and then come back and just restart and have fresh energy and I think everybody knows that feeling of just being overwhelmed in your the situation that you're currently in and then just wanting to have a break from Everything and then the the most important part about that is not where you're going but who you're going with and I think that's that's the reason why we chose runaway because we felt like it was very authentic and the way that like we've really felt like running away in that second and we wanted
to convey that but also at the same time this was one of the very first songs when we were like kind of happy also as a group with the song somehow so Um you know like some songs they're like really nice like four out of five they're like really happy with this song but this song and just like after the first session we were like so hyped about the song to hear the final version and was like everyone was happy with it and I feel like that's also very important when it's especially about the very
first song um because it's a whole new audience we want to Target at the same time because We don't of course we also want to please the people that follow us and they like us but our mission is like to prove the people wrong they may think okay yeah they're like like you said like hot cute Tick Tock boys whatever but like we want to show them that we can create something bigger and um that's something we also want to accomplish at the end of the day are you nervous hell yeah hell yeah Yeah it's
it's it's definitely a lot it's you know that you're going to be judged in a very different way than if you like for example artists that just come up with their first song and they don't have an audience they're not being they they're definitely being judged differently so for us to already have an audience that Stakes are very high for us to release a song to go into music because we could also have a drop off after that and we obviously don't want That to happen but the thing is I really believe in our vision
because I know how much fun we have and how much I know that we can achieve anything if we really really believe in it and if we really like stick to it so um yes very nervous but also just super excited but like there was also already a moment um like when was Wembley like three weeks ago yeah uh or like three or four weeks ago maybe Capital yeah when we Almost [ __ ] our pants so it's like we debuted yeah so we already had one of these moments when we're like really really nervous
we did the Summertime Ball yeah I saw yeah yes what was like being on stage insane it was crazy and we we're really happy to to get this opportunity you know like I think no no artist gets the opportunity to perform or like Play the song in front of 80 000 people at the first time yeah yeah and that's why we were so nervous and we Were so scared that the people don't like the song it was the first time we were showing the song and um with with the um like with his thoughts that
we like maybe get judged or something it's a high risk yeah it's a high risk as like Tick Tock because that's like influences through music it's like the typical thing we know that but that's why we wanted to do it perfect and wanted to do it good that's why we produced 30 songs And put out one at the end um I think we we really want this and that's why we are even more nervous you know to get judged but I think that's that's part of the deal and we will grow into it and we
hope that the people like the song and the first feedback is really good so thanks guys but London was crazy though like to go back to London uh just imagine so I remember the first day when we arrived for the rehearsal seeing the empty Wembley Stadium and the next day When we arrived it was just like packed with 80 000 people and we were hanging backstage and we're like we're shaking for hours like um then we got the moment when the team told us okay now and now you have to go yeah we were standing
under the stage for like 10 minutes just like screaming at each other um we couldn't breathe just like jumping around and they said like okay guys let's go now it's your moment so there Was like an elevator lift somehow ironic we like brought down all the DJ equipment and then we were just like running on their platform to be ready to to go up on the stage and I would just remember like I was looking in the face of these boys like everyone was so scared um right afterwards like we were on stage for like
one minute and after we also had a little interview um and you know like English is not a Mother language but it was like you know also another uh exercise another thing we had to accomplish and then when we went off stage we were just like we started crying we had tears in our eyes we just like hugged each other which is like such a wholesome moment um all the pressure was gone and just like pure joy it was one of the I would say I think I can speak for all of us it was
one of the most insane moments of Our Lives yeah hopefully the start of many yeah Hopefully yeah we have to come back one day to Wembley like in I don't know and hopefully we can remember then when we are there a second time because when we were up on stage it was like a film you know it's like a movie you couldn't remember anything afterwards we just worked we don't know anything about it and blink blink of nine was gone the whole moment like it was I think about like 50 seconds of performance and then
after That we had like an interview for maximum a minute and it felt like a second on stage and then you were running right back off and I hopefully and and hopefully the next time we'll be able to actually properly perform the song because this time all we did is we had a little choreography that right when we walked on stage I completely forgot about to be honest and then um all we did is we didn't actually sing The song because we didn't have any live training yet it was it all happened so fast that
we were just like lip syncing the song in that way we're just not really we're just performing the song We're showing the song walking in stage and um then hopefully next time we will actually be able to perform the song properly I don't know if the first time is going to be at Wembley though so what's the deal are we gonna do choreography where are we at Geography was just for um because we didn't want it to look super lost when we walk on stage we just all like wander around so when you perform eventually
yeah are you gonna be one of the groups that does they don't know yeah cool stuff for sure for sure yeah I think I think we will go all in I guess yeah uh why not like you're freaking out yeah not that that's it yeah Um yeah we have to twist like right now um we we couldn't do we couldn't do it I guess like with dancing and all stuff but um that's why we're training and um we have so much fun uh with it so let's do it you also don't need to answer One
Direction famously did not dance I I I'm kind of fine with the light guys I'm totally fine with that you can play the guitar yeah I'll play the okay you also all learn to uh we're all trying to learn uh instruments now as Well like some of us yeah who's learning what um I'm trying to learn the guitar at the moment so I bought myself my first guitar and like right now I'm absolutely obsessed with it so every single day I sit there for hours and hours hours my fingers are already so numb and I
used to play the drums I know that Tim used to play the drums as well yeah I used to play the piano for eight years and I'm starting now again yeah yesterday I was Sitting we were at a pool party and I had this I had it uh ukulele there and I was just sitting there like from the moment we arrived to the moment we had to leave I was just sitting there trying to like it didn't even want to go in the pool this is cool like you're investing in music yeah yeah but could
you say that this is your passion like a few years ago I always wanted to be a musician all my life I Wanted to um sorry for saying so much guys I I always wanted to be a musician because um I remember when I was like 11 or 12. I was singing Adele in my room after the movie Skyfall uh Skyfall came out and I was always a singer in the car with my mom ever all the time and then Skyfall came out and I was seeing this guy from my room my headphones and I
thought it was I was killing it I thought yo I'm seeing so good and then I walked over to My living room where my mom and my brothers uh sat and they were like sorry and they were like you're like what the [ __ ] did you just do like what are you doing but they actually no they didn't actually say it at the beginning they were like yo you're saying was so good they were taking the piss they were like yeah yeah I was like I want to go to the boys I want to
go to like a singing competition whatever and then they were like yo your [ __ ] and then and I Practice a lot with friends and stuff over the years and then when we decided to make music I was the happiest I've ever been yeah how do you guys decide who sings what part on these songs you got five guys I would say um we have like different different um ranges of voices somehow yeah like I'm more in a deeper part and yeah like those two for example they can sing Higher so it just fits
like whatever part is high or low we just set it to one another and then um obviously we try to like that everybody has the a good amount of um not screen time but like voice time if that makes sense um but in some songs obviously then some boys are going to sing more than the other ones and then in other songs which are more like sad or maybe more upbeat whatever Um it'll be like shifted so there's no like there's no scheme to like decide who sings what it's more spontaneous you guys read about
somebody becoming like the Beyonce of the group somebody who comes like the stuff don't worry about it it'll be great we'd all love it for one another but yeah first we want to do it as a group Rising tide flits all boats sorry it's a saying it's called a rising tide floats elbows oh okay yeah one of you Gets famous and you all get really famous you know yeah one of you becomes Beyonce everybody we're not too worried about getting five fiance so we're like we're trying yeah so what is the deal with you guys
in Heidi Klum we're very good yeah like um we met her I would say like one and no one and a half years kind of yeah I kind of one and a half Years ago um so we met at her on set of her German TV series German sex Top Model and um so we got to know her and um we met her on set we we did the dance actually for her song to her song with the Snoop Dogg back in the days um and then we just like yeah we had a good vibe
one week later she invited us to barbecue at her house and um you know she's also from Germany and we share the same Vibe of just like creating Something and like yeah doing something good like entertaining people like we had a very very good vibe and since then we're just like good friends I remember once like when we were in Milan um for the fashion show um and her daughter she designed clothes and she did a fashion show Milan I remember I was full of naked in my room my my phone was laying on my
bed and I was like running out of the shower like who's calling me and because the music Stopped and it was like Heidi Klum FaceTime call I was like damn that's the wrong moment so I just got a towel answered the phone I was like that's up and she was like yeah you know what I'm like already backstage at my daughter's show are you guys here I just want to hang like I'm a bit bored you know so like it's really nice and a good good friendship and she supported us also with the VISA to
come to the US oh wow so like yeah we have a we have a Very good connection I would say but do you like speak German when you're around here yeah yeah sick yeah I feel like that's hard like being around people just speak English I mean you have each other but like you know what I mean we get used to it it's like also yesterday we were in the car with a friend and we started to talk English to talk German in between um but he doesn't know German so Tim was like yo guys
English English so like and Then everyone we have to remind ourselves sometimes at some point he switched into Germany we're like bro English just practice yeah yeah you don't speak English incredibly well thank you thank you thank you thank you just we all need to practice a little bit but yeah do you speak any German any German words you know no do you want to do what you want to learn some no I'm yeah sure I'm deeply uncultured like I'm just getting out there in the world I just started traveling like you know where did
you tell it to I went to London okay I went to Tokyo sick and that was a soul Soul Sick you know I've been to Canada a couple times I don't want to brag uh you buy once for like three days it's crazy how did you talk is German right yeah yeah do you guys want to hear a tough one yeah what about um can you say Aisha No try it do you want to try what does it mean guest squirrel yeah that's good yeah it was pretty good yeah it's a butterfly but like or
say that one again what is that one ambulance ambulance yeah that are the three classic ones that everybody always Compares when when there's these videos of like German language compared to other languages and it's ambulance It's always the same but Germany I'm a big Anglo and Merkel fan oh yeah yeah she's cool hang on Marco yeah she's [ __ ] amazing she's a baller yeah you have no clue how many German memes there are about yeah no I can cruel she's been in she was a leader of Germany for I don't know the forever yeah
it feels like forever you know what she is she's imagining 59. [Laughter] Why did you guys decide to sing in English instead of German um because we've always always done our videos in English as well so um we've always wanted to reach a bigger audience we never wanted to limit ourselves to just Germany so we always try to speak English even in the beginning or write everything in English so everybody can enjoy the content and so we can be seeing everywhere in the world and that now comes in very handy Because now we can go
to America and do stuff over here and go to other parts of the world which is just so much better for us because we also love traveling traveling for us in a group is just the absolute best we have so much fun together so yeah also we wouldn't have the pleasure to talk with you guys yeah to German yeah like a little German boy man so yeah you're very limited if you're like it was all the plan to sit here with you one day I feel like the World is more Global now yeah it really
is like you know it is people watch our show like walk through [ __ ] Tokyo and people come watch me yeah so exactly the world is it's just global yeah yeah so we've also traveled a lot before that as well so I feel like every one of us has like a very International like yeah especially through Tick Tock when why we're like all of the world and not only in Germany so like the opportunities are there so why don't we use it yeah what Stories are you telling in these songs I'm assuming it's a
variety of stuff but how honest are you pushing yourself to go how vulnerable are you trying to get like what's your strategy think um like in Tick Tock we we are this like like this this person who like acts more and there's like more like not at private we don't show that much personality on Tick Tock it's like Trends you know yeah um and in music we we want to find ourselves more Um vulnerable and um to express ourselves yeah more personal and we we all have stories in the background which nobody knows like the
one is heartbroken like it won't get sick all the time or something and um we we really struggle too like and we we don't really showed it yet and we really want to do that like I think the typical um Stories We want to tell is like the mental health we we struggle really struggled with going from like really Being a village boy to like that Tick Tock hit and that like famous kind of boy or the boy the boys so um I think Matt health is is going to be a big topic and then
it's yeah I think girls love in general you mentioned heartbreak twice who's going through it right now [Music] yes I went on the couch one of us maybe or maybe not it's definitely Jacob Uh it's like no like no that's too late like actually it's not me though all of us three we just say no and you have to guess who it is okay evil you actually reviewed people in the comments can guess maybe no we all say no and you have to guess who's lying yeah okay but we will we eventually find out who
is going to do our break maybe what kind of game is this X the best or not like for me it's like I've been singing the whole time we're together so like never had a girlfriend since we're together so I'm out of it I'm just like sitting there with my popcorn and watching it's like from here and there just like shouting some things like giving some recommendations or whatever it's like anything but like giving recommendations I'm out of it you know I'm just like I'm the trouble and I was like okay guys do your thing
if you need my help giving Advice I try to giving advice but at some point sometimes just like circles back all the time that I'm just like I'll just stay with my popcorn now I'm giving advice you guys you guys know that only give me now yeah but if you know someone I was interested in the guy with popcorn it's like let me know the hook you I mean I'm sure so many people want to date you oh I'm sure your DMs are crazy now Um it works um you don't need my help I think
I can find you a quality person the thing is you know like when it comes to being in the public eye it's um I would I always say like it opens a lot of doors when it comes to relationship at the same time but like makes it more complicated because you don't know uh the person you're dating or you're taxing what is what does he or she what do they want like what are the intentions yeah yeah Do that like your life or you as a person and um yeah when it comes to texting you
also have to be careful though you know what I mean like it's it's a whole thing that's why I always kept my relationships private like I had girlfriends in between and I didn't break up never multiple you have do you have a breakup in the situation how's your heart going I'm happy you're happy okay I'm happy um I'm I'm happy but like I Like that yeah but but not every song is about having breakups right so I wanted to add that like our main goal during Tick Tock always was to put a smile on people's
face and I feel like that's still a goal but now more in the music industry um yeah so we always like gonna also show some happy songs yeah true it's gonna be a great mix of like happy but also real stuff I think As every artist we don't have just one feeling for a year and like every other person as well so you try to put every feeling that we have into our songs and just feelings yeah that's it are you nervous to share those feelings because the tick tocks like you said were very shallow
yeah like yeah surface level that's like it depends so for me it's like a real relief yeah yeah the thing is yeah sorry first yeah I'm so happy to finally share this like I think that's That's one thing that was on our minds all the time um like we wanted something more than just like posting Trends on Tick Tock and like of course we showed some vulnerable sites on on Instagram and stories or something yes but um it's like a whole nother level right now and we can express ourselves through music which is a so
strong um media to to show that feelings so I'm so happy and hyped to do that finally but it's like every time when you show Your feelings the people can hurt it even more because it's like something that really really is like importune like really sticks to your feelings like how you feel yeah that's the reason why um I feel like we haven't showed that much Persona on social media like we haven't showed that much of our personality on social media yet because I feel like as soon as you do that you make yourself very
very vulnerable when it comes especially when it comes to Hate because now on social media we've all created these personas um of us being a certain way and because we're acting and not actually showing how we really are on Tick Tock and like some on YouTube sometimes we do that but like on Tick Tock for example I wouldn't say that we really show how we really are because um when we when we impersonate this person or like when we act and we get hated it for the person that we're Acting as then it's not really
about us you know what I mean so if anybody hates me for my Tick Tock I'm like yo that's not even me like I acted as somebody else it's like a 15 seconds yeah yeah for example so um I feel like with us now going into music it's definitely for me sometimes it's definitely hard to just go there and express my feelings and just be like yeah I can say that like I don't have to be scared of that but it's also when I Do it it's really relieving and I like that I think um
you don't want to yeah you don't want to talk to the people who hates you or who spread hate on the internet you want to talk to the people who understands you and can relate to it and maybe have the same feelings and find themselves in your music and I think that's a really really beautiful Factor about music that you can listen to it and understand it and understand the words and understand The feelings and maybe you're going through something similar and then you can understand I think you have to look at these people and
not the people who just want to hate because there are always people who just want to hate and that you can you can do that the thing is like I think we realized that being a role model and what we always wanted to be over the last two years just like um always with a smile and like entertaining people giving them good Feelings um it means a lot more to be role model and to be role model it's also part of showing when you're not when you're not okay because it's okay to be not okay
and I feel like we just realized that that we don't want to transport a Utopia of the life also of the life of people during the public eye so we also want to share that also we have feelings we're also going through a hard day they're not all the people out there just like Feeling oh they're having a perfect life and I have to be like them and just like because they're always happy I'm not and that's what makes them even feel worse so we just felt like okay being a real role model means to
also show when you're not okay and I feel that's that's why we also want to show my feelings yeah that's our mission right now yeah really life is ups and downs and you can't have highs without lose and you really you have to show all aspects of Life it's it's only fair to do so and I think there's a lot of people out there that want to be understood and doing that through music is a really great way to do it I also think that like people knowing you from Tick Tock is one thing but
music has a more far is it really far reach you know like you can really you're you have the potential to touch people have no idea who you are at all not everybody has Tick Tock but everybody listens to music yeah you can Spread the word totally music connects everyone are you were you making most of this music in Germany or here actually the first songs we um so we we were in Germany and then two two producers asked us to um if we wanted to do sessions and just try out music and then we
were like uh we're not really sure we um we're really Um we didn't really have a lot of time back then and we were about to fly to LA and we were like sorry we don't have the time right now and we don't know if we wanted to go down this road because it's it's very hard for like social media people to go into music and stuff it's a risk and then um they were like yo we can even come to La if you guys want to we're like actually it would be a vibe to
just be here like no commitments made we just they just come over here we do a Little we do a few songs see how we like making music and then we can go from there then they flew over here and we went to the um Studio the electric field Studios on Sunset um for like three days in a row and from the first day on we were in love with it we had so much fun with like the whole process of it and so the first three songs we made here in LA and then um
all of the other songs no Cape Town Cape Town we did like looks somewhere to campus with our with the producers with the producers we worked with back then we were um in Cape Town for like 10 days and a songwriter and we just did like what how many songs seven songs or something and then all of the rest of the songs were built in mainly in our living room or in the studio yeah and now we're back here to hopefully produce some more yeah we're trying to look for good producers In songwriters at the
moment who we can work with here do you live here huh you living here only for three weeks or three weeks so we're here until uh August 8th yeah I think so oh seven so um yeah we're here to produce more stuff work with more International people um because I feel like also the songwriting is a bit different when you're born in America or if you just like learn English so um yeah we want to improve that as well to work with some Nice people and yeah besides our singer Runaway which is coming out on
the 21st right um but like I just saw the tattoo while you were talking about like it's a funny story when we when we talk about the first song we're gonna release or release like I got a tattoo yeah so so us too so we were shooting the music video on Myakka it's a Spanish Island Europe and we got the tattoo on the kitchen table at 2 A.M Um so actually it was a table artist from New York who was on on that island as well and funny story I think do you think I can
tell the story like also the first night I come on I'm just gonna die yeah it's gonna share the story the first day um it was also like 1am he pulled up to a house and we're like okay we want um the name of our thing on our bodies and I was like okay cool um then he he started to set up Everything and then he was like yo guys I have to say something I forgot my machine at home so we were like we were already shaved and we depended on it because yeah our
plan was yo let's get it tattooed and let's make it uh our our single cover yeah and we're like yo if he's gone we don't know who to to uh who to talk to now yeah and then we just we both got it I got it here on my angle there's like run and away and he got run away as a Whole um sick and yeah like his leg is now his knee basically is now going to be our cover for the sound yeah single cover what an honor you guys I'll get a tattoo or
just you two just us two because he didn't have enough time but we also have like all of us will have the same tattoo also with our cameraman so when we were in it was in 2000 not 2021 I guess not 2022 we won um the about you awards for best entertainment In Europe and we all got if you can see it through my hairy legs to be honest we all got this like little elevator yeah it was at the after show partying like Tim started to tattoo our cameraman and like you know I didn't
do the best job so it's like why do all these tattoos always come around when we're a little bit tipsy I don't know that makes sense yeah yeah but the thing is you see like of course now we're kind of part of The public eye you know like but like deep inside of us we're just like to be honest five videos just like having fun and like being best friends just like being in the early 20s traveling the world like kind of like a school trip back in the days and it's just like so nice
to make these beautiful memories for the rest of our lives with our best friends that would have been a sick so yeah best thing about it is that we Can share every like good emotions yeah and like everything we we've been through already we can share so it really is special yeah it's special yeah and all those stories coming through in music so listen to the elevator boys uh that run away we have it for you it's on Amazon music click the link in the description below what are you thinking Dan how do you guys
make this work long term because it's hard to make a boy band last it's hard to make a social Media Group Blaster how do you bring it all together make it last a long time absolutely um I'd say so like at this point we lived together since two years we're like we're work Partners we're um like we live together where like I don't know we're almost like brothers at this point I'd say yeah it's like it's like a family relationship obviously like somebody sometimes we uh not beef but like we have a little argument we
fight whatever but then we make it up to Each other when we don't clean up for example if somebody doesn't clean up or whatever then there's an argument um but I I feel like it's very important that um so on the work side everything is clear and um we figure out all the like contracts and that side of stuff um during good times that whenever bad times might appear that we don't sort of go on onto one another with like lawyers or something so that all this is set and then like on a more private
end that we Try to make sure that everybody's sort of kind of still has their space so just like we did the other week um we took a we took a little break we it's it's we had to sort of run away because it it all just can't became a little too much and everybody just needed their space for a little bit and I feel like that's that's one of the most important things that we um still are remain as this friend group and then as this boy band and then his work Partners all together
if we can still get along with each other so that's why we have to ensure that we all sort of still get along with each other with taking like minor breaks here and there everybody see their families and like they're taking care of each other's feelings as well and because yeah um when you become this close which to me really feels like brothers like some days I could just you know and then other days a lot like In the most days I love them no it's like with Brothers but um most of the time we
love each other and uh yeah you just have to give each other space respect each other's feelings and then just but we came also a long way so I think one of the most important things about it is that we like we're friends also from before so um it matched already before the whole pressure part and in the very beginning I remember when we moved to it was Actually our second apartment the first one uh was just like the rental for a month and then we moved to another place in Berlin and we shared a
room with like three people so three boys in one room and seeing now where we are right now it's just like unbelievable and um so we came a long way as friends I think that's very important but when it comes to that we also business partners and just like best friends at the same time as far as it's very important that we Know we have we have borders so these borders just like um Define how we also talk to each other so when we're in a in a workspace somehow we can be like more rough
like more direct I would say and and everyone knows okay it's like now the pressure's on it's just like there's sometimes there's no police and things it's just like okay we have to get this done and then at some point we're like on the social uh yeah on the social thing when We like just our best friends it's like we definitely separate these two things also at least we don't have to share bets yeah yeah I mean you sometimes well you start to share we used to we did yeah we did share um the things
we're not sharing right now yeah yeah yeah it's hard like when you're traveling with eight or ten people at the same time to find a good place in LA to stay where everyone has Imagine a house it has to be big enough for eight people like we bring our team with us as well as we mentioned our camera guys traveling with us our cameraman JoJo the goat yeah then we also bring his birthday today yeah and then we also um brought to um two people from our team so we're eight in total and then try
to find a house which is good for filming because we have to film a lot as well and then also find a house with eight individual Bedrooms 100 [Music] 000 per week or something yeah it's it's expensive it is so expensive America yeah we were we went grocery shopping yesterday and we just bought water rice 100 and and milk and bananas and bananas and it was 250 yeah but like it was we were all shocked it was a little cake for Jojo but that's it like that was 36. 250 bucks for what a grocery store
did you go to Um no no no it was something else something with g we bought a cake for Jojo a cameraman uh in form of a burger so that's what you get in America yeah and it will cost you an arm and a leg um Daniel final thoughts last question I had is uh do you guys ever get embarrassed filming tick tocks in public oh yes sometimes I even watch our videos and I'm like why did we film this sometimes not all the time but when especially him come on he gets so embarrassed in
public but it's so Random like one day we are standing in the middle of like an intersection like it's just like a green light for 20 seconds and we do a tick tock in the middle and there's 600 cars around us and they can all watch us and he doesn't care he's like quick quick guys and then sometimes there's like something minor we just Stand on the sidewalk and there has like somebody has to walk around us he's like yo guys guys guys so embarrassing and then he freaks out no it's like that's only when
we just like blocked a whole walkway you know it's just like we're just blocking the whole street somehow and like people coming and we're like we're like doing our dances there you know I don't know like the people just like have to stop or just like go on the street we're not blocking the street Like like driving cars that's not what we do no but like um all legal it's you know it's like I think also a big part of our job is to take ourselves not too serious yeah and at the I feel like
that's something very very important um to still transport all the joy and stuff um yeah and we don't take ourselves to serious I think no one in this world should just like have some fun and like Do whatever you like in the end it's entertainment yeah yeah sometimes it's hard though then you stand and you're like oh yeah it's embarrassing though yeah when you when you look back on all the thresh traps we did in the beginning that was bad yeah and sometimes still even do their straps you get numbers yeah you look good no
we're good we have to we have to keep the community happy for The music to work you know because like music is solely dictated based on how somebody looks yeah exactly yeah right look exactly look at this video do you guys posted this video a couple days ago you're right on this busy intersection on Sunset yeah just dancing right in the middle of the road that's what I was talking about I could never do that the funny thing was they were like kids standing on the sidewalk and they copied Everyone huh it's another one is
that the one on Sunset it's the one on Sunset you guys ready I am yeah that is only a thing in America though like whenever we do this in Germany or Europe whatever like I never see people honking at us but like in in America yeah everybody's screaming out their Windows like we're saying where's your [ __ ] permit you're shooting in L.A [Music] yeah it's it's somehow it's uh it's a thing though but like yeah we don't take it too seriously it's fun it's fun I guess jobs could be worse yeah yeah right yeah
definitely if you're fine with like embarrassing yourself a little bit oh yeah I would honk by myself like the idiots like what are you doing you're just like don't block the street yeah but also maybe to put it into another perspective Again it's um obviously like it's it's so much fun like we really enjoy everything we're so respectful for all those opportunities that we get that we get to travel so much and meet so many amazing people um but it also comes in hand with a lot of like pressure on ourselves and like really like
a 24 7 thing because we don't it's not like we we work somewhere at a store for example we go home and it's like done you you sort of you can't Really switch off your head like that and that's I feel like one of the most the hardest parts and then obviously it comes with sacrifices too like we all sort of I wouldn't say left or alive behind two years ago but sort of we all we all like sort of got sucked out of or bubbled then in sort of regrouped all together in Berlin and
fully committed to it so it is a big commitment that comes with a lot of sacrifices too in terms of like private life or even Relationships it's not that easy to keep up with everything instead of to maintain both both ends happy at the same time so yeah it really does come with sacrifices too and then being in the public eye we had the topic about hate and sort of like people obviously like we do have a lot of fans but there's also always people saying negative things and stuff and um we're just thankful that
we have each other as a group to sort of support One another because especially in our early days there were times where um sort of somebody someone of us would get post a video that gets a lot of hate and so we were able to support one another but out there there's so many people that don't have that group or that maybe friend group or family behind them that support them and they can sort of catch on to them um we have to talk about Role Models too so and there's I had a good partner
so yeah that that's That's a big part so for example we endure back in Germany we work with the organization which is called heydate they help people they get like they experience discrimination or hate on the internet and um because we want to help these people also our community everyone who's who's facing one of these problems because we experienced that when someone is attacking someone on the street like I don't know like bad words or whatever the people are going or standing up for Each other but not really on social media and I feel like
that's something we also see at our task to kind of educate the people to help each other also on social media because um encourage them yeah to encourage them and to stand together and yeah for better behaviors on social media yeah that's a cool mission thank you and it really is cool because I have never even heard anyone talk about that like everyone just lets APA You know like really combat it you know what I mean it's if you never tackle it it just gets worse you know like the problem just grows because if you
if you never address it like people are just gonna use it to vent and to express their negative feelings and they they have to know that what they say actually has meaning and it hurts people it hurts people and it has effect on them like there's been so many suicides like because of because of hate on the Internet and you can't just wash that away with saying oh yeah hey just hate no like you can actually do something about it you can actually sue people like you have to be held accountable for what you say
and what you do on the internet especially if it has such a huge effect on people and that's something that's really important to us especially because we've experienced this in the beginning as well and yeah and it's hard to deal with it when You're when you feel like you're alone and and you may be already in a kind of like uh depression yeah in a bad place or whatever and like when you feel you're alone and you get these messages and you feel like you have nobody to talk to or feel like it's it's even
worse and for example like that's why we support Haddad so much because they are like an open ear to everyone out there who needs some help um who um yeah maybe if it's even just Only a person to talk to and I feel like that's something very very meaningful to a lot of people out there yeah and I mean it's it's very hard because you know in this world we live in like all the the Behavior Uh matters or like the structure how we behave everything we do is like it's learned and teach over years
and years and years but social media is a whole new world and we slowly have to start to adapt it to A Whole New World which is on the internet to get Some rules for the behavior and um as well it will also be a process but um you gotta start somewhere and we try to encourage everyone out there to to be a part of it very cool Mission really listen to the elevator Boys song more music is on the way though right yes it'll be up on Amazon music there's a link in the description
below come back as you release more stuff like albums and stuff come thank you who loves whatever your strategy very comfortable Yeah great conversation yeah [ __ ] yeah has a lot of fun with you guys thanks I mean do you like you have EPS like what do you want to do next album we haven't planned any of those you have to okay so this is also very important to know um we wanted to take way more time to before we um before we wanted to release our first song but Um we got the opportunity
with the Summertime Ball like a friend of us called us George and he was like yo do you guys want to do this and we were like yo we started like we planned on releasing our first song in like half a year or something or a year even because you really wanted to take our time and then be ready to live perform and everything like we haven't had any live training yet and um so that we got the opportunity we're Like okay yo let's Rush everything like we haven't slept for so many nights just like
finishing the song with our vocal producers and everything it was so stressful it was a shortcut so um we're not that prepared yet so we are just working on like getting the first song out and then after that we see what we do but the plan is a piece of it's this isn't a plan yeah sorry Sloan said he does win the race yeah yeah exactly we'll get there yeah We will run away for now though Amazon music yeah click the link sorry what were you saying I'm sorry cut somebody off no it was just
like we're on our way so um yeah we're like giving full speed on the way so yeah full speed yeah so we haven't even we don't even have access to the song is that top secret right we've heard the teaser yeah we're gonna play to you we're going to play to you thank you so much elevator boys everybody thank you thank You guys thanks appreciate it was a great time [Music] thank you
