See, you can do anything. You can get up any hour, read any book, take any [music] class, make any change, develop any skill, do any discipline. I mean, you can do it all. When this how and the why are when the why starts to grow, the how gets simple, [music] you're going to have sometimes low moments when you won't want to get out of bed, just want to stay there. At times you won't want to come out the house. There are times you'll be feeling bad and don't know why, what's wrong. I don't know. Just
leave me alone. What are some of those things that you can do during this period of time? Go for walks. Do some things for you. Just go for a stroll [music] so you can engage in some reflective thinking on life on yourself. [music] Listen to upbeat music. Music that inspire you. I have oldie but goodies. I have strategies that I engage in to recharge my batteries. I'm [music] preparing for that because I know things are going to happen that I cannot anticipate. Very good friend of mine died the other day. I had a program for
myself. I have books that I read that inspire me. Tapes that I listen to [music] that fire me up. Why [screaming] not you? You got the heart. You got the skill. You got the knowledge. So what the [ __ ] are you waiting for? The only person, big dog, that's going to get you out of this spot is you. No more [ __ ] excuses. No more coming up with reasons why you can't. Grab a [ __ ] gear. Get focused. It's time to level up. Let's go. We're not here because we're free. We're here
because [music] we're not free. There is no escaping reason, no denying purpose. Because, as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist. It is purpose that created us. You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson. You must know it by now. You can't win. It's pointless to keep fighting. Why, Mr. Anderson? Why? Why do you persist? Because I choose to. Is it the perfect moment? Well, those don't exist. Is it more confidence? Well, confidence shows up after you take action, not before it. So, tell me, why are you still playing small? Because if
somebody is going to change their life this year, if somebody is going to accomplish everything they said they wanted. But there's a [ __ ] out there who wants what you have, who wants the position you are, who wants the job you have, who wants the wife that you have, who wants the husband, there's someone out there hungry and wants everything you [ __ ] have. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. [music] But if it is, it's going to be your ass. You might be at that job another 10 years. You might be there [music]
another 20 years, but that opportunity, somebody's about to leave and get another job. Hear me [music] very closely. Somebody's about to quit. Somebody's about to get fired. And you will not be ready [music] at that particular moment to go to the next level. We're not talking about the job right now. We talking about an Opportunity. You never know when your opportunity is that [music] opportunity. It may not be 2 years from now. It may not be 3 years from now. It [music] may not be four years from now. Your opportunity might come in the next
6 weeks. The question is, will you be ready when that opportunity [music] comes? So, you running out of time. It's only fearful if it comes and you're not ready yet. I'm not crazy, [ __ ] I'm just not you. There is no tomorrow. There is no tomorrow. When you haven't been able to say goodbye to somebody, when you didn't live in the moment with a friend or loved one, a family member, and you no longer have time, let [music] them know what you think. That's when it becomes scary. You know, my dogs and and my
family and stuff, I love them to death. Every minute with them, I I embrace. I love it. [music] I never want it to end, but it will end. We come into this world by ourselves. [music] We leave this world by ourselves. We had the opportunity to engage while here, [music] but we leave alone. It's time to get the [ __ ] up. Understand this. You are not behind. [screaming] You are exactly where you're supposed to be. You are standing at the edge of the life that you keep praying [music] for. And yes, it is scary
because it's scary to fall. It's scary to lose. It's scary to fail in front of people who don't Even matter to you for some reason. But that's just how we are. But understand this, the people who win aren't the ones who are never scared. They're the ones who still move anyway. That's the start of the [music] deadline. That's how you do it, guys. You [ __ ] commit to something. [music] You tell them about it. And no matter what, they cheer for you. They get behind you [music] instead of being one of those subjective major
losers in life that beat you down because you know better than them and you're reminding them of their feelings. it really starts. Everybody wants the results, but not everybody wants the pressure that comes with it. Because that pressure forces you to leave your comfort zone. And if you refuse to do so, you will remain average. And average is the quickest way [music] to waste your potential. So this is the moment that you stop talking and start doing. No more waiting for signs. No more [music] hoping somebody hands it to you. The risk is yours. The
reward is [music] yours. The life you want is yours. So stand up, move forward, and take it. Because why not you? No one said that the path is going to be easy. And it's not. We know life is rough and [music] we know there will be pain. And whether that pain is at the hands of an enemy or at the hands of nature or time or disease, there will be pain. That's the way life is. You have been disappointed over and over and over again. And every time you try, nobody notices. And every time you
try, you come up short. Sickness is cyclical. It comes around, it goes around. You're well for a little while, and then it's the same thing all over again. But this time, it's only worse. Because now, not only are you back where you started, but you have less hope that it is ever going to be different because you've cycled through it one more time just to realize, well, I guess I'm just a cynical person. Well, I guess I'm just a negative person. I guess nobody in my family was meant to go to college. Sickness becomes normal
to you. And it starts to be easier for you to just accept the condition than to challenge it. Because to challenge the condition means to risk disappointment. And some of us have tried got blocked. Tried [music] got blocked. Tried got blocked. And now people see you and they assume that you don't care. No, I care. I cared and I cared so much but they didn't care back. And I tried so hard and I still got looked over. And don't you know it's hard when your expectation has been damaged by disappointment? It it's a slow damage.
It's a slow tearing of the muscle fibers. It it's a slow deterioration of your hope by disappointment. It is not one event that creates it. It's over and over. I tried and I tried and I smiled and I stayed and I disciplined and I showed up and I didn't care. And and the man has finally [music] gotten to a place where he is tired of trying. You might even feel like there's no hope. But you know what? Doesn't matter. Keep [music] fighting. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. But that doesn't happen on its own.
You have to choose to get stronger. Keep fighting, keep [music] going, and don't give up. Because the only real failure is actually giving up. And if you don't give up, you will win. See, life is rough, ladies and gentlemen. It's rough things that's going to happen to you in life, ladies and gentlemen. Make it okay. I can change how I respond to it. I can become upset, nervous, tense about it, weak about it, or I can say it's okay. Don't go through life feeling like you're powerless. Victims are people that are powerless. You're not powerless.
You are powerful. You direct the power in your life. Whatever your life is right now, it is a duplication of your consciousness. It's a result of how you have decided to use your power. That's all it is. That's not who you are. That's just a perverted use of your power that you aren't satisfied with. And you've got the power to change that. But you don't know what Has happened to me. It really doesn't matter what has happened to you. See, the only thing that really matters is what are you going to do about it? That's
all that matters. That's all that matters. That no matter what you do to me, how cold and callous you are to me, lack of compassion, lack of sensitivity, how cruel you might be to me, you're not going to change me. There are some things that I went through this year that I didn't like. There are some things that I went through this year that hurt. They hurt like hell. I'm not saying that I would have chosen them if I had had the opportunity. But now that I've been through it, there is something that I learned
through what I went through that made me who I am. There's a purpose for it. I'm not a hostage. You have to make a decision that every experience is my [music] education. And I'm going to discover the opportunity for me to grow and for me to get better. I'm telling you, I have already made up my mind that I know I will fall [music] down. I know that I will stumble, but I already see myself getting back up. Therefore, I'm never down. I'm either up or getting back up. I will learn from this thing. But
life doesn't wave a white flag. So then we wave our white flag, not even knowing that just around the next turn, [music] just around the next sacrifice, just if you can make it through this season, just if you don't give up in this trial, see the reason you can't stop is cuz you might be so close. Wouldn't it be a shame for you to quit when you're this Close? Wouldn't it be a shame for you to walk away when you've come this far? Wouldn't it be horrible for you to bail out when you're just this
close to victory? You can't walk by what you see. You can't give up cuz it doesn't [music] feel good. You can't let people talk you out of it. You can't let your emotions stop you from moving forward. Keep believing. Keep moving. Keep marching. Keep crawling. Keep inching. This might be the thing. [music] This might be the one. Every true leader, they're called weird, they're called eccentric. When you do the things of real leadership, you're going to be called strange. Get strong enough in your own skin that when people laugh at you, or when they throw
stones at you, you keep on going. What are you going to do now? How are you going to control that now? How are you going to flip it upside down and say, "Roger that. Now I'm going to harness this and you'll read about me years from now." [music] Everybody who wronged you in the past, they going to have to feel you. They going to have to see you. Don't get even. Don't worry about getting even when you already beat the odds. You want to make your dream come true, you got to stay focused. Some people
rather get even than get ahead. Stay focused on where you want to go. I just kept on doing what I was supposed to do. You have to be relentless. You have to never let off the gas. Never stop. Never quit. We all get knocked out. [music] I've had my haters. I've had people who've come against me, who try to sabotage me. I'm like the liar. I'm not the gazelle. I don't need something external to motivate me. I find something within. Life going to whip your butt. Life is going to bully you. Stop whining. Stop crying.
Nobody cares. [music] He's demanding. Let it hit you, but don't let it punk you. Stop affect your life. [music] A better outcome or what happened to you. Waste no more effort wrestling with other people. Your destiny, [music] your future is not predicated on the decision of someone else. You wasted too much of your life trying to change other [music] people's minds about you. It doesn't matter what they think about you. It matter how you see your fulfillment [music] of your dreams lies within you and you alone. When you understand this, then [music] nothing or no
one can deny you greatness. Everybody say you don't read enough. You're not a critical [music] thinker. I'm not. But I'm a beast. You ain't got to be smart. When you a beast, you ain't got to be the most talented. When you a beast, you ain't got to be the most talented. When you got that dog, I'm going to fail. I'm going to fail. I'm going to fail. I'm going to fail [music] and I will succeed. I'm going to make myself good enough. You dribble. I'm obsessed. I'm Going to prove wrong. While they [music] keep working
while they gossip behind your back, you keep working. And [music] at the end of it all, they will lose and you will win. What if all of us took that attitude after we face a rejection and a no or we have a meeting and no one shows up or somebody say you can count on me and they don't come through. What if we have that kind of attitude? The cause repossessed. Nobody believes in you. You've lost again and again and again. The lights are [music] cut off but you still looking at your dream reviewing it
every day and say to [music] yourself it's not over until I win. life will yield to you. And I'll go to war for what I want. I will go to war for what I love. By a show of hands, how many of you have cried this year? How many of you was just straight stressed out this year? How many of you lost a loved one this year? How many of you went through like straight depression this year? How many of you felt like and you got word that you probably weren't going to be able to
graduate this year? So, I want you to do me a favor, class of 2018. I want you to take your time and embrace this moment right here. Take some time and embrace this. But think back on when you was up crying, when you was working on that paper, when you was thinking like, am I going to look and text the answers or am I going to learn this myself and do it the right way? Life going to be painful. Oh, you thought what you dealt with your junior year, senior year or something. Wait till you
start paying bills and you got to get cleared for college and so homeboy break up with you. Listen to me. Like I'm just I'm just letting you know like life going to be rough and you've been hearing from your parents. So please don't don't don't be upset with me. You know what I'm saying? If I'm echoing [music] their voice, I'm just telling you right now like life is going to be rough. It's supposed to be painful, but that's how you grow. It's it's going to take time, but what's on the other side, it's always worth
it. I've experienced my fair share of pain in my life, just like every other adult in this church today. So, I went on to the amazing Oakwood Academy and Oakwood University and got my bachelor's and masters. But when I graduated, I didn't just graduate with degrees. I also graduated with an associates in abandonment, with the bachelors of brokenness, with the masters of misery, a PhD of pain, and a doctrine of depression. Like life can be rough. I kept putting the work in, and I said, "This will not define me. This very thing I'm experiencing [music]
will refine me." And that's how you go to the next level. So if you really want to experience next level living, embrace the pain, embrace adversity, embrace the challenges that come your way. For those things are always working for your good. So all the dreams that you have, all your aspirations that you have, hold on to it. I'm grateful for what I have. I'm grateful to be in this position, but I ain't going to settle. I want everything I'm supposed to get. So some of you right now, you got dreams and aspirations. Those things will
come True. Some of you sitting in front of me right now, you're not really sure what you want to do and where you going to go in life. Let me tell you something. You work on being the absolute best version you can be of yourself and everything else is going to fall into place. So now I see myself traveling this I've been to South Africa about six, seven times the past few years. I done been to Australia [music] three or four times the past few years. Like India, I never thought I'd be doing what I'm
doing right now. Come on y'all. I got kicked out of this school. I went to another school and failed over and over again. Drug and alcohol abuse. But my condition was not my conclusion. Where you are right now is just [music] the beginning. And there is so much more that you will have and experience. There was so much more that you're supposed to have. Everything that you attain to have, you can have it. But all you got to do is stand up to say, "I want success." Stand up to say, "I want value." Stand up
and say, "I want to have an impact." And be everything that this school and my family have prepared me to be, [music] but more importantly, be everything that I've been created and called to be. And when you do that, my young friends, I will see you at the top. God bless you all. Most of the time, we don't have someone there to keep us in [music] line, to make us do push-ups, and give us a good swift kick in the ass when we slack off. What we have to do is we have to be our
own sergeant to hold the highest standards and allow no slack. Your problem is you start something, you stop it. You start something, you stop it. You feel good, you do it. You don't feel good, you quit. People who do stuff consistently and on time, they [screaming] surpass people who talented and gifted. All men are created equal. Some just work harder. And the problem with some of y'all is you want somebody else to support your dream. It's yours. I don't owe you a dime. It's your dream. If you want it [laughter] to happen, get your butt
up and make it happen. If you want it to happen, rise and grind. If you want it to happen, you going to have to do what I do, and that's get up at 3:00 in the morning. And you going to have to act like you got all the energy in the world. Why? Cuz this my time. This my moment. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. Ain't no such thing as tomorrow. We only got today. Every decision you make, the decisions you make on Monday, the decisions you make on Tuesday, the decisions you make on Wednesday, if you decide
to hit the snooze button, what you're doing is you 10 minutes away from your goal. Now, you just went backwards. So, whatever your goals are, whatever your dreams are, whatever your destiny is, your decisions have to be in alignment with them. Now, if you want to be broke for the rest of your life, keep doing what you're doing. But if you want something different in life, you got to do something different. You got to go all in. And mental toughness says, not only do I climb that dog on mountain, I enjoy climbing the mountain. I
get a kick out the mouth. I get a kick out the weights. I get a kick out of going up against the number one team. I get a kick out of fatigue. I get A kick out of the grind. I get a kick out of it. When you want to become a diamond, your whole attitude change, your whole mindset, your thinking, your relationships, the decisions that you make, how you spend your time, your energy, all of it changes. See, this is something that you can't be in this business. This business has to be in you.
You take advantage of this opportunity. You let everything else go. You eat different. You study different. You practice different. It's one thing to talk about your destiny. It's one thing to dream about your destiny. But it's another thing to wake up when you know you supposed to wake up. To say no to that party, saying no to quitting when you still got a 100 more shots to make. Saying no when your body didn't stop, but you put in 50 more push-ups. You can't just talk about it. You got to be a part. Yep. It's tough.
It's hard. I'm not telling you it's going to be easy to sacrifice. I'm not telling you it's going to be easy to grind. I'm not telling you it's going to be easy. But I can tell you this, it will be worth the sacrifice if you can grind your way through it. And that's a lot of you in this room. You will run. You'll do what you're supposed to do. As long as you're getting pushed, as long as you're getting motivated, as long as somebody is encouraging you, as long as somebody's coaching you, as long as
somebody's pushing you, as long as somebody's proddding you, you're doing what you're supposed to do. As long as somebody's calling you, as long as Someone is enticing you, as long as somebody's giving you rewards, you're moving. But as soon as that stops, you stop. I asked myself the question about the lion. And I said, the lion is not running to be rewarded. The lion is running to eat. Because the lion realizes when he kills the gazelle, not only does he eats the gazelle, but he brings it back home. So you've got to ask yourself, what's
your why? What motivates you? What pushes you? What drives you? And if that thing is internal, if nobody has to call you, if nobody has to pride you, if nobody has to reward you, if you are self- motivated and self-regulated, you can have it. You can be it. You can do it. When you are a true hunter, you don't go by time, you go by the gazelle. You don't hunt from 8 to 3. Why? Because the gazelle may not be open from 8 to 3. You hunt until you get a gazelle. And you don't stop
until you get one. And then you get another and then you get another and you get another. Listen to me. A nineto-five person, they make a sale and they're excited. When you get to my level and you get one thing, then you try to get to the next level, then you try to get to the next level, then you trying to get to the next level. A true hunter hunts. A true hunter's goal is not the prize. A true hunter's goal is to hunt. That's what they live for. They live to hunt. They don't just
live to catch it. It's the whole process. I'm saying that some of you in this room, you might not be a lion yet. You might have small beginnings. You might not have a lot of Money. You might not have a lot of resources. But there's no excuses. And I need you to understand for those of you who are 70% beast mode, 30% gazelle. [music] That's just enough for that other person. I'll do you. There are only 86,400 seconds in a day. And you got to not only operate them, you got to do it quick. You
got to do it fast. You got to do it in a hurry. Why? Because there's somebody else who's on the same track you on. Somebody else, they're on the same path that you on. It's somebody else just like you trying [music] to do it. And sometimes they're working just as hard as you working. They're putting in just as much sweat, just as much tears, just as much blood. But you just got to do it what? You got to do it faster than they do it. You got to do it quicker than they do. Are you
listening what I'm saying? That's why I wake up at 3:00 in the morning. Because if you giving up at 6, you might be smarter than me. You might You might have more privilege than me. You might. You might have more resources than me. You might. But I'm going to get up earlier than you and I'm going to do it faster than you do it. So by the time you get up with all your resources, by the time you get up with all your privilege, by the time you get up with all your stuff, I've already
finished the race. Are you hearing me? It's hard. Yep. It's hard. [music] Yep. It's difficult. Yep. Why? Because the process is weeding out the weak. It's weeding out the weak. And so sometime you got to play hard. You got to play physical. You got to play tough because the game itself [music] is tough. The game itself is hard, but I know you got what it takes. Listen to me. This is how you do it. Over six, seven years ago with no money, no human resources, no building, no funding, [music] no support. The first thing we
did was we dreamed. We wrote the dream down. We slept the dream. We ate the dream. We rehearsed the dream. We looked at the dream. We talked about the dream. We slept with the dream. We woke up to the dream. We wore a dream. And now, boom, it's our reality. And for some of you, you stop dreaming. You dream for a week and you stop cuz things around you don't look good. You dream for a month, then when you get hit in the mouth, you quit and you give up. You dream for a while and
when people tell you crazy. When people tell you you're stupid and when people tell you can never get done, you stop dreaming and you go back to knowledge. And I dare you to use your imagination. I dare you when you broke to use your imagination. I dare you when you rich to use your imagination. I dare you under every single circumstance, [music] keep dreaming. Keep looking at your dream. Keep focusing on your dream. Keep going after the dream because that's where true success is. And so I love the process. I love it. I love working
for what I want. I love the sacrifice. I love the dedication. I love the commitment. I love that. Everybody wants the prize. Nobody wants the process. Everybody wants to be a diamond. Nobody is willing to get cut. Everybody wants to go to heaven. Nobody wants to die. If you could fix procrastination, what would your life be like? That's why you can't blow [music] up. You ain't got enough discipline to discipline you. At the center of bringing any dream into fruition is selfdisipline. [music] It's getting command of your mind to be able to choose actions that
are in your own best interest. [music] Every day we are choosing that's not in our own best interest. So if the world is attacking you and the world wants to fight you and the world's trying to hold you down, so you will stop yourself from getting what you dream. Selfdisipline is the center of all material success. You cannot win the war against the world if you can't win the [music] war against your own mind. Now those of you in this room, you playing, you still giving 50%. You still giving 70%. Look, quit that job. If
you want to go every day and get that job 70% quit that job. So if you're not finding that motivation [music] that you want, forget about it. Instead, impose some daily discipline in [music] your life and start today. Lazy people do a little work and think they should be winning. But winners work as hard as possible and still worry if they're being lazy. So if you're a winner, you ain't comfortable. Every day I get up and give everything I got to everything I'm a part of simply because this is who I am. Like the only
thing I need every day of my life is 86,400 seconds. That's it. Like I don't need some reward. Like the only thing I need is breath in my body and all flat out going get it. We're not in here to get an achievement. You don't need to pay a [ __ ] dues so later in [music] life you never wonder what it. We just erase that out of the equation. We're putting the work in now so we never wonder what it not run by the clock. Run by our desire where we want to go tomorrow.
Because the more energy you give, the more that life can express through you. Can't create through you. We don't know when God's going to take us out of here. So every day has got to be the best day. Every day we got to go get it. Every day we got to work out. It could be the last day. And because it could be the last day, we can't live it like we used to live it. Too many of you in this room, you act like you going to be 200, 300. You are running out of
time. Act [music] like it. You know what separates the winners from the losers in this world? The difference is that winners [music] are honest with themselves about the effort that they put in. They don't blame [music] anything but themselves when they don't get the result they are after. Instead, they recognize their own lack of effort. They [music] take responsibility for it and they fix the issue. Only you can hold [music] yourself back from getting what you want. Not your parents, not your teachers, not your circumstances. You [music] are in control. Every single day is a
win or a loss. [music] Did you do what you needed to do today? Because that's all that matters. There is no magic. [music] There is no luck. It's one day at a time, one win at a hand until you make winning [music] who the [ __ ] you are. It's hard living. Life is hard. It's hard handling just the tragedies of life. It's hard when you're working on something and and you put everything you have in it [music] and it doesn't work out. You lose your money and other people's money. [music] It's hard. You will
go through things and while you're going through them, you can't understand why it's happening to [music] you. And it's in these moments right now that so often we feel like backing down. [music] What is it that will make it worth it for you to face the rejections? [music] What is it that will make it worth it for you to brainstorm [music] and not be intimidated and say, "I can do this." What is it that will make it worth it for [singing] you? To raise the bar in [music] yourself and say, "I've got some more stuff
in me. What is it that will [music] make it for you and you want to give up the things that are working against you? [music] What is it that will help you get back up again? [music] A man's character is not judged after he celebrates a victory by but [music] but by what he does when his back is against the wall. So no matter how great the setback, [music] how severe the failure, you never give up. [music] You're going to fail. You're going to make some mistakes. You got to fight. [music] You will have opposition.
Things going [singing] to happen to you in life. It's called life and it's not personal. [music] Stuff's going to happen. Sure, you might lose comfort and sleep. Sure, it might be frightening. The so what? The darker the night, the brighter the morning. You will fail [music] your way to success. It doesn't matter how many times you fail. It doesn't matter how many times people tell you that you can't do it. It doesn't matter if you don't have a dime in the [music] thing. The thing that's causing you pain today actually has purpose in your life.
Every season you can learn. Every season you [music] can grow. Every challenge is developing you. That which does not kill you will make you [music] stronger. It's the obstacles in our life. It's the hardships. It's the mountains [singing] that we climb that make life worth living. But the mountain's not supposed to stop you. [singing] [music] Your mountain has the materials for your miracle. Your conditions are not [music] always in your control. You don't always get to decide what kind of skies you face. There are some things that are outside of your control, [music] but your
courage is in your control. Take that leap of faith. Trust yourself and [music] know within Yourself that everything is going to be all right. The harder the battle, [music] the sweeter the victory. Oh, it's sweet to you. It's good for you. Wow. See, when you when it's hard, [music] see, what you become in the process is more important than the dream. That's far more important. [music] The kind of person you become, the character that you build, the courage that you develop, the faith that you're manifesting is something. You get up and you look yourself [music]
in the mirror, you're a different kind of person. You walk with a different kind of spirit. You know, you [music] know what life is, that you are embraced. You know, you did it all. There are going to be days where you do not feel like doing anything. Those days are going to be there no matter what path you take. We have two voices in our mind. It's that one voice. It's that soft [ __ ] That soft [ __ ] voice that says, "Sleep the [ __ ] in. It's okay. You could take the day
off [snorts] saying you don't need to go hard. It's that cuddling voice. You want to be hugged and nurtured and all that shit." That voice, [music] that nagging voice of weakness, the one that tells you to Back off, to simmer down, to take it easy. When you hear that voice, [music] tell it no. Tell it to sit down and be quiet. Suppress that voice. You got another [music] voice in your head that's asking you a question. It's asking you, "What could you be?" [music] What could you be? What could you be if you worked as
hard as you could? What could you be if you imposed real discipline in your life? What could you be? Because that being that you are feeling [music] is the test. This is a test. This is the day I'm going to find out if my goals [music] really are my goals. Michael Jordan, they call it the flu game. He still scored more than the average dude with the flu. Even when you got the flu and you playing other champions, you still score more than they score because you learn how to dominate. And you need that same
mentality. I'm talking about looking yourself in the mirror, looking yourself in the eye, and saying, "I'm going to dominate today better than any other day. Learn how to get excited when that feeling creeps in of I don't want to do it." And when those test days become something that you live for, something you look forward to, now you're [music] talking about a whole different level of mindset. You're talking about an unstoppable force of nature that cannot be [ __ ] with. Mental toughness is the ability to resist, to manage, overcome doubt, overcome worries, overcome concerns,
overcome circumstances that prevent most people from [music] succeeding or performing under pressure. Every human being that is not successful versus every human being that's successful, the only difference between them is mental Toughness. One group when they come up against trials and tribulations, they shrink. One group of people when they come up against a recession, they shrink. Weakminded people, they buckle, they complain, they look for every excuse. But mentally tough [music] people, we saw the storm and we pull on our surfboard and we begin to surf on the waves that drown most people. You have to
understand that your greatest commodity, not your shoes, not your car, not your clothes, it's your mind. Your mind is the most important thing you have and you got to control it. I don't care what's happening. You have to control it. When you leave, what you fighting for? What's your legacy? What you going to do? You say you a champ, but do you practice like a champ? You say you a champ. Do you fight like a champ? You say you a champ. Do you have a mentality of a champ? Champions keep going when they don't have
anything left in their tank. when they don't have no more, when it's over, when they're tired, when they're frustrated, when they're ready to give up, when they spent their last dime, that's when they get started. It's when you have nothing left. It's when you depleted all your money. When all your energy gone, that's when it's showtime. When you find a way out of nowhere, when you find breath that you don't have, when you find energy that did not exist, when you want this thing as bad as you want to breathe, that's when you find a
way. A true hunter's goal is not the pride. A true hunter's goal is to hunt. That's what they live for. They live to hunt. They don't just live to catch it. It's the whole process. When you are a true hunter, you don't go by time. You go by the gazelle. When you are a true hunter, you hunt until you get a gazelle. And you don't stop [music] until you get one. And then you get another. And then you get another and you get another. If you going to do what you say you going to do,
be what you say you going to be, you going to have to lie me out. You a gazelle, you going to come up short. You a gazelle, you going to have an average experience. You a student, I need you in lion mode. You an entrepreneur, I need you in lion mode. [music] You trying to lose weight, lion mode. You can't do nothing significant in gazelle [music] mode. Nothing. Nothing impressive happen in gazelle mode. Nothing happened in run mode, give up mode, quit mode, scared mode, fearful mode. Nothing happened. Everything happened in line mode like I'm
coming to get you. You might have more talent than me. You might be smarter than me, but I will not be outworked. Period. It's such a simple basic [music] concept. Is the guy who is willing to hustle the most is going to be the guy that just gets that loose ball. There's only one thing you cannot purchase. There's only one thing you cannot buy and that's what real beef do. That's something you going to have to do. You got to put more energy and you got to put more effort in your stuff than anybody. So
you getting up at 4:00 and it ain't working. Get up at 3:30. So you read the book once and then you didn't Get it. Read it twice. Read it three times. If a person leaves at 6, you leave at 8. If a person makes 100 calls a day, you make 200 calls a day. If somebody practices 3 hours, you practice 5 hours. If somebody practices 6 hours, you practice 8 hours. If someone reads two books, you read four books. Just do a little bit more because there's somebody out there who want your spot. And so
you got to embody excellence. It's one thing to be hungry. It's another thing when you're starving. You're starving for greatness and starving for success. [music] You start training. Train like it's your life, not a game. Like it's your life. Like this the last opportunity, only opportunity. You see a guy like me, I knew someone was better than me. There's more talented people than me. probably more talented than you, but you might outwork me for 30 days or 60 days or 90 days, but you ain't going to beat me over a year. You can't outwork me
over two years. You aren't going to outwork me over three years. I'm going to [music] get you eventually. I'm a dripping damn faucet. I just keep coming at you. You might think I'm knocked out. I just keep coming. I'm too damn tough to give up. Most people half ass half their life all the time. I knew they were going to get tired. [music] They were going to flinch. They were going to get down. They quit improving themselves. They start sleeping in. They spend all their damn money. I'm not going to do that. So, I'm going
save money. I'mma get up early. I'mma keep getting wide. I'mma stay relentless. It is the process of the grind that shakes you and forms you. It's not the game. And that's why most of y'all get beat in the game or make mistakes in the game because you think grinding is what happens when the sun Comes out. You think grind is what happen when the lights come on. You think grind is what happen when people get in the stage. That's not grind. The real grind is in the dark when nobody sees you. When nobody knows what
you doing. When you studying with our coach. When you putting in those extra reps, when you watching those videos and you getting inspired, when you change your music, it's the process that makes you sleep. It has everything to do with what time you wake up. It has everything to do with how you eat. It has everything to do with how you work out, how you prepare. It has every single thing to do with how you think. And if you're going to be the best, the cream of the crop, you got to be it, not talk
about it. It has to consume you. It has to take over you. That when I see you, without even know you, I ought to be able to look at you and from your ethos, I ought to see you, you are the best of the best. I ought to know what you're doing without you saying one word. It ought to illuminate from you. No alarm clock needed. My passion wakes me up. My drive wakes me up. My determination wakes me up. My ability to be, do, and have whatever I want, it wakes me up. What wakes
you up? What drives you? Why are you playing this game? Is it just a game or do you eat it? Do you sleep it? Do you drink it? Have you possessed the game? And what will separate those of you from the rest is what you do? At some point in your life, give every single [music] thing you got. A true dog mentality is not enough to make to the NFL. Be a MVP. It's not enough to win a 5K, win a 10K. It's not enough to became a doctor, be a better doctor. It's not enough
to loit [music] the ground. Go out there and do something with it. Never get a better man. Be different. Try to be 10% better than you were last week. Swim 130 m a week, [music] 133. If you're swimming 500 m, swim 550. You ain't the only one doing what you doing. And that's so cute. And right now he's trying to [music] take your spot. So just when you felt like you did that last rep and your muscles are saying, "I can't do no more reps." You saying, "Yeah, [music] you got to do one more." Cuz
right now, while you quitting, you might be doing five more. While you quitting giving up, while you saying, "All right, [music] I did enough. It's time to rest." You might just be getting in your zone. There's always someone out there working harder than you. I'm haunted by that mother. Knowing that someone out there is going to forgo [music] personal desires and comforts, for go sleep, for whatever it takes to be better, do your best. Well, I always have that person out there. There may not be a name or a face to him, but he exists.
You make sure in life they think about that person. You make sure they put a name and face to it. You make a name and face yours. Don't do the haunting. Get in somebody's head, own space. If you're not willing to do it every single day, you're not going to beat the man that's doing it every single day. I'm not the best, but they have not outworked me. I'm not the best. I'm a beast. [music] And often times when you're going up against other beasts, sometimes they just want it more than you want it. They're
not more talented than you. They just know what they out there for. You got to find something within. Life will knock you between the eyes. It will catch you on the blind side. come out of nowhere. Stuff you can't anticipate That will knock the wind out of you. You want to give up. It's going to be very challenging. Whenever you decide that you want to grow, whenever you decide that you want to go to another level, all hell will break loose. It's hard. It's not easy. It's hard changing your life. And here's what I want
to say to you. For those of you that have experienced some hardships, don't give up on your dream. There are moments when you're going to doubt yourself. There are rough times are going to come, but they have not come to stay. They have come to pass. We all go through problems. They don't have to overwhelm you, though. Problems don't have to take you out, though. Problems don't have to make your life miserable, though. Your problem is you go back and run to your safety net. I can't do it. Help. and you going to be running
to it [music] for the rest of your life until you get to a point when you look at life and say, "You will not beat me." It's easy to complain. It's easy to point out your circumstances. It's easy to talk about what has [music] happened to you. It's easy to talk about your situation, what you're going through. But if you do what is easy, your life will be hard. But if you do what is hard, your life will be easy. [music] See, it's easy to be on the bottom. It doesn't take any effort to be
a loser. Doesn't take any motivation, any drive in order to stay down there at a low level. But it calls on everything in you, ladies and gentlemen. You have to harness your will to say, "I'm going to challenge myself." Sometimes I have to pull myself out of bed, say, "Come on, less. Things I know I should do, I don't do. things I shouldn't do, I do. I found that the biggest enemy you have to deal with is yourself. Your problem is some of you are phenomenally skilled, but it is a phenomenal will that says every
time I get knocked down, I will get back up and I will succeed. I will not surrender. You have something great in you. You can do it. Where you are is temporary. You will not be there for the rest of your life. It might last for a second. It might last for a minute. It might last for an hour. It might last for a week. It might last for a day. It might last for months. But sooner or later, if you do not surrender, if you do not give up, if you do not give in,
it will subside. You've got to say yes. Yes to my dreams. Yes to me, I can make it. Yes, I can. Doesn't matter how many failures I've made. Doesn't matter how many mistakes I've endured. Doesn't matter about my defeats. Doesn't matter about what I've done. I don't care about the fact I'm in a hole now. Doesn't matter about where I am. Yes. Yes. The last chapter to my life has not been written yet. If you judge me now, you'll judge me prematurely. I haven't exposed All my stuff yet. I'm still in the process of transforming
my life. I'm still in the process of becoming. Yes, [music] you are great. You are unique. You are special. You are talented. And you deserve to have everything you want. And stop listening to the people who tell you you don't kill the noise. What do they know? Who are they? And when that thing tells you to quit, you look at it in his eye and say, "I ain't going nowhere. I will break you before you break me. [music] You will not defeat me. You will not destroy me. You've been through so much hell. You won't
quit now. You don't quit now. It's the 10th round. You got two more to go. And when you get to success is not about skill. When you get to a certain level of success, it's about stamina. It's about you won't break me. You can't take me. I fought too long. I fought too hard. It's too late now. You should have broke me a long time ago. I'm unbreakable now. And that's got to push you. And that's got to drive you. And when you find your why, you find a way to make it happen. And all
times when you want to quit, you make sure you know all times, hours, and days you sacrifice to your best. I fought for it. I want to win. I want to fight for my family. I want my mom and dad proud of me. I want my kids proud of me. I want me proud of me. I want to look in the mirror and be happy with the man I look back at. That he gave it everything. that he went for it. But here's the truth. Most people's dreams can be bought. With enough failure, with enough
rejection, they will sell their dreams. They can't still fight. They can get a little bit, but when it gets a little too hot, they go boom, sold, buy the dream. You can have it. It's not worth it to me. And their will to win is viable. You can buy it. But if you decide my will cannot be bought. I don't care how long it takes. You can't buy this dude out. I'll [music] keep fighting for my family. I'm the one. I'm going to change my family tree forever. That's the decision. Decide now. You going to
keep negotiating the price or can you not be bought? Don't [music] give up on yourself. Don't throw a towel there so quickly. Many people give up on the one yard line. You know, the human spirit is powerful. There's nothing as powerful. It's hard to kill the human spirit. [music] There's greatness in you. And you've got to learn how to tune out the critics's outside and the critic inside and says, "I'm going to do this. I'm going to harness my will and I'm not going to let anything stop me. I deserve this." Working on yourself, talking
to yourself. That's so very important. Overcoming the negative conversation, that inner dialogue is going on all [music] the time. You got to stand up inside yourself sometimes and say, "Shut Up. I'm in control here." You've got to have an uplifted expression. Watch your body posture. All these things affect you psychically. Start [music] working and developing yourself now and prepare yourself for what it is that you want because you expect to get it. All I need you to do is speak up and say, [music] "I expect to win. Declare that it's over. That yesterday [music] was
the last day that you were a loser." Like yesterday was the last day you expected to come up short when you set out for [music] a goal. Expect it to happen. Expect to be successful. Expect [music] it to be positive. If you can expect it, if you can wake up feeling like a winner, if you can wake up talking like a [music] winner, if you can expect that everything you do will come out winning. I guarantee [music] you never ever have to come up short again. It might be here 2 3 4. You get your
big win, but you can [music] decide now. I'm going to walk, talk, and be a different person. You decide now. You're the lead character of the story of your life. Everything has to do with you intending to win. Too many of you are playing with your business. [music] If you make that chip, I'm going to win. We're going to play to win now. We're not playing to play. We're not playing to see how we do. [music] We're not playing for fun. Once you start getting some winning, you start changing. You talk different. You walk different.
[music] All of a sudden, this isn't the same damn human being. You can change you. You'd be surprised [music] where a little win would do you. You'd be Surprised how good you'd be if you just decide to [music] win. Be number one in your office, number one in your region. And when you start stacking them up, your life [music] can change. I don't care how good you are. I don't care how talented you are. I don't care how much you work on yourself. There are some times when things aren't going to go right. There are
times when anything that can happen will happen. [music] Life happens. the unexpected, the uncalled for, the unintentional. We've been damaged emotionally, damaged spiritually. It may be your business. It may be your heart that is broken today. It may be the number in your bank account that is screaming, "You are broke." You can break physically. You can break mentally. [music] You can break your heart. You can break your spirit and all of those are going to leave a mark. But the mark that they leave can be the mark of victory or it can be the mark
of defeat. It is staying with the breaking that produces the blessing. It is not what you go through that determines where you end up. It's who you listen to. Cuz I think right now you are walking through a valley [music] between two voices. One is wisdom, one is work. One is gratitude, one is grumbling. One is blame, one is faith. Because every time you break and in every way that you break, while it's a chance for you to give up and for you to fall apart, but there's also opportunity to get stronger and get smarter
and get faster and get tougher and get more stable and get more [music] resilient and get better. What I need you to do is I need you to find a reason to keep going. And if you can find a reason to keep going, I know you're strong enough to do it cuz you [music] human. And every human has what it takes to get past whatever they going through if they decide to. Push through it. Push through it. Tragedy and trials come to everybody. Only the strong survive. The fight isn't over. The fight is just beginning.
You have the opportunity to show the world [music] what you are really made of. I need you to look at that sickness that's going on in your life right now. Whatever it is, I want you to say, "I can beat it. I can beat it. I will beat it. I must I got a family to live for. I ain't through yet. My life ain't over Yet." There's some things in life you don't need no degree for. You don't need no money for it. You don't need no support for it. There's something in life you just
going to get through when you tell yourself I'm going to get through this. In your life, the wall adversations, nothing can stop you. The only thing that can stop you is you. No situation, no circumstance, no piece of advers. [music] And I'm not retreating. I'm not running. I don't care what they say on paper. I don't care if you say we outnumbered. We live by this and we die by this. We don't retreat. We don't run. We going to stand. We going to live. We going to die by what we stand for. And everybody going
to know what we represent and what we're part of. I got staying power. I got staying [music] power. Be encouraged today that no matter what you've walked through, no matter how broken your marriage is, no matter how many times you failed, there is within you a spirit that is greater than whatever is going on around you. If you would be willing to fight your way through this battle, fight your way through cancer, fight your way through that academic struggle, fight your way through divorce, fight your way through it. If you are willing to fight your
way through that stinging career, fight your way through boxing, [music] fight your Way through football. I'm telling you, at the end of the fight is going to come victory. What is the common denominator of failure? Why are you failing? You never say because of me. Oh, it's the competition. It's the economy. It's the president. It's Congress. If you wake up tomorrow morning and blame your failure on someone or something else, you have no reason to change, do you? [music] But if you woke up in the morning and looked in the mirror and said, "I am
failing because of me. The decisions that I make, the energy I put in, I'm not passing the blame." If you look in the mirror tomorrow and say that you will change cuz nobody likes thinking of themselves as a failure. Winners win and losers lose. And if you create a culture of losing, if you keep being a victim, if you keep letting losing happen to you, if you keep letting people do you and treat you any kind of way, it's going to become a culture. Take ownership. [music] Take ownership of everything in your world, the good
and the bad. Don't make excuses. Don't blame any other person or any other thing. Take ownership of your [music] mistakes. Take ownership of your shortfalls. Take ownership of your problems. And then take ownership of the solutions that will get [music] those problems solved. Take ownership of your job, of your team, of your future, and take ownership of your life. The people in life that win play offense, not defense. Stop [music] backing into everything. Stand up. bow your back a little bit. Start to walk a little different. Start to [music] be that best version of you.
You can do it your quiet way. You can do it the way you do it, but somehow they're going to look at you and go, "Okay, I will monkey with that one." You push that. You got to get obsessed. You got to get relentless. You got to be a road dog. You got to get intense. [music] You got to have a permeating attitude that you're going to win. You got a positive outlook. You got to be optimistic. You got to know you're going to win. You got to And right now, you got to say, "I'm
going to win. I'm going to win. My life is going to win. You'll be a victorious life here. Cuz listen to me, the price you pay for losing here is [music] too extreme. You have to carry the burden of failure the rest of your life. As we begin to elevate ourselves and not to follow the crowd, activating the thinker in us and disciplining and putting on hold the emotional part of ourselves. It's not easy, but through practice and practice and practice, practice makes improvement. [music] You can always better your best. You can always go beyond
anything that you have ever done. You never hit a state of perfection. You're always bigger than what you do. And so all you're looking for are new breakthroughs. Through Practice and practice [music] and practice, you'll get better and better and better. Something you should affirm to yourself every day. Repeat this, please. No matter how bad it is or how bad it gets, I'm going to make it. [music]
