they both head into a room that is covered with mattresses which can suppress noise they find a hidden door that leads to a basement and enter there they hear Charlotte crying and find her locked in a cage they try to talk with her but Charlotte's afraid to look up because of the scary sculpture behind them so Shane covers it up the movie opens with a black car roaming around the city creeping on children until stopping next to a little girl her neighbor calls the girl and the car drives away now we meet a woman named
Jack whose ride has arrived Jack gets her things from her office but gets late so the driver ditches her she sees another driver dropping his customer and asks him to give her a ride Shane the driver refuses to give her a ride because he took off his sign but turns out he's heading to the same place as Jack Middletown Jack offers to pay him a big tip so he gives her a ride elsewhere in a park we meet Monica Bryce a single mom of three accompanied by her mom Gail Monica and Gail are arguing about
their generational disputes meanwhile Henry and Charlotte Monica's older children are playing behind on the slides the kids play hide and seek while Gail makes a video of Monica and her youngest baby Charlotte hides behind a tree and the same black car from the beginning approaches her the car door opens and a Man shows Charlotte a pretty doll so she approaches the car Monica now sees the video and notices Charlotte in the background next to the black car she quickly looks around and finds no sign of Charlotte now we meet a 911 call Operator named CCE
CCE receives Monica's call who's crying for help CCE reports it to her boss Sergeant Casey she tells him Charlotte's description and mentions the car is a black Toyota Camry but they don't know the plate number CCE reveals they have to call in an amber alert but Casey mentions that without the plate number they will have to fied a million calls Casey decides to talk with Monica himself and informs her that it's impossible for them to find the car without the plate number so Monica abruptly hangs up the call meanwhile we see Shane driving Jack to
her location Jack asks Shane what's in Middletown and he reveals he's going on a fancy date Jack is heading to a blind date in Middletown and wonders if Shane is her date but he's not back in the precinct Monica confronts the sergeant and shows him Charlotte's video she asks if he must know a kidnapper who abducts with a doll Casey realizes the situation is serious and decides to issue an amber alert while putting CCE alone in charge of the calls back with Jack and Shane Shane gets a call from his ex-wife Shannon who berates him
for being late to their son's birthday Shane shows Jack a picture of his son Jake who's turning five Shane asks Jack if she has kids but she reveals she doesn't they both suddenly receive the amber alert for Charlotte with her picture next to the black car Monica's phone gets blown up with texts from her contacts meanwhile CCE starts getting dozens of calls regarding the black car's sightings Jack now notices a black car in front of them and asks Shane about the car they realize it's the same car from the alert but Shane is unsure since
the alert didn't mention a plate number jack is adamant that it could be the same car so she decides to call it in but her call gets put on hold a few minutes later Jack's call gets picked and she reports the Black Camry jack informs CeCe about the plate number but mentions being unable to peek inside the car CeCe notes her location and ends her call to answer more calls the Black Camry stops at a red light so Shane pulls up next to him so Jack can look inside the car they notice the Amber Alert
now displaying on the traffic sign so the Camry quickly rides off Jack forces Shane to follow the car but Shane is still doubtful they see the car stopping at a gas station and a man with a gun heads into the store Jack decides to look inside the car and ends her ride so Shane gives her his number to stay in contact with her Jack wears her wireless earbuds and calls him back in the precinct Casey connects CeCe with a caller who confirms seeing Charlotte and reports the carplate number meanwhile Jack looks inside the car and
sees the legs of an unconscious girl Shane tells her the driver is returning so Jack sneakily throws her earbud inside the car Shane picks up Jack and they follow the car so the earbud doesn't disconnect they hear the driver calling someone and mentioning a name and number right it'll be under Williams 71 78 so Jack quickly notes it down Sergeant Casey now informs Monica about the car's plate number and location he mentions they have established a perimeter and will be updating the Amber Alert Shane and Jack now share names and get to know each other
a little Shane gets a call from Shannon again who's still angry at him jack notices the Camry pulling up so she ends Shannon's call and tells Shane to stop the car the pair has no idea what to do so they pretend to have car trouble and check the engines meanwhile the driver gets out of the car and approaches them they mention having car trouble but the driver pins them for lying and asks if they are following him because of the Amber Alert Jack agrees and asks about the girl in his back seat and he reveals
it's his daughter named Olympia he mentions they are heading to Tennessee to meet his auntie for remedies because Olympia has long tea syndrome so Shane figures out its arthia the man asks Shane if he's a doctor but Shane only knows it from his ex he insists on waking up Olympia so Shane and Jack can feel at ease Jack walks up to the car not knowing the man is trapping them but they receive the updated Amber Alert with a license plate number jack realized the car is different so she apologizes The Man reveals his name is
Aaron and drives off Jack sees Charlotte in the back and still feels doubt she calls 911 again and asks if a man named Aaron called about to confirm the license plate CCE confirms and realizes Aaron is the kidnapper and he tricked the cops she informs CeCe of her location and mentions seeing Charlotte's pink socks and white shoes CeCe transfers Jack's call to Sergeant Casey while they chase Aaron Casey informs Jack not to take any drastic measures that can put their lives or Charlotte's life in danger Jack ends the calls and calls Aaron Aaron asks how
she got his number so she lies claiming she got it from the cops how'd you get this number okay from the police they suspected you were the one who called 911 with the sighting in Gilbert to throw them off she tells Aaron to release Charlotte because they are chasing him and the cops know Aaron threatens to push Charlotte out of the car but Jack calls it a bluff stating they either get Charlotte or him suddenly they see Aaron pushing Charlotte on the road so Shane stops the car they head out of the car to check
the body only to realize it was a doll Monica now gets informed about the kidnapper and later at night Sergeant Casey calls Jack they reveal they couldn't Trace Aaron's phone when he called because he used Wi-Fi Casey mentions they got no hits on the social security number they gave him but Jack realizes it could be his birthday and he was calling someone which could be the pharmacy so they realize Aaron has arhythmia and will definitely pick up the medicine tonight Shane now gets a call from his son Jake who had been looking forward to playing
Xbox with his Dad he mentions being busy with helping the people from the Amber Alert meanwhile CCE tracks down Aaron through the pharmacy he called they find out his real name is William and his address Monica realizes his address is near Jack's location so they should head there but Casey is against it since William is armed while Shane and Jack aren't Monica takes a picture of William's information while Casey decides to bust William himself back in Tennessee Shane and Jack talk about his son Shane mentions he needs money to buy games for his son but
realizes his son doesn't care about games and wants to spend time with his dad Jack reveals she had a child once but he died right when he was born she mentions the pain of receiving a birth and death certificate at the same time they both empathize with each other but after a while Jack gets a call from Monica Monica reveals William's address so they decide to head there they find the location which is in the middle of the forest they find a warehouse where Jack gets reconnected with her earbuds she calls Shane to enable the
earbud and hears Jack threatening and scaring Charlotte Jack no hey look at you look at me listen we're just playing all don't you Shane quickly ends her call and calls William he pretends to be the pharmacist who has prepared his medication and asks him to pick them up now William decides to pick them up now otherwise cops might find her by tomorrow they see William leaving on his bike and realize Charlotte's inside the house they break into the house and it's wrecked they split up and notice there are dolls all over the house Shane sees
a bathtub full of Bubbles and wonders if Charlotte's in it but doesn't find her on the other hand Jack heads upstairs in the attic and finds a photo book with Olympia's name on it she finds pictures of Olympia tied to a bed so Jack realizes Olympia was his victim she realizes William kidnapped more girls when she sees a Shelf full of more photo books Shane finds a gun and loads it with bullets they both head into a room that is covered with mattresses which can suppress noise they find a hidden door that leads to a

with a table while Jack goes upstairs with Charlotte William tries to open the door and shoots at Shane but misses Shane shoots back so William goes around the room Jack sees him entering from the other way so she tries to escape William confronts Shane and we hear gunshots so Jack runs back upstairs with Charlotte she hides in the room where William would tie his victims Jack tells Charlotte to stand by behind him as William enters the room he shoots Jack in the arm then on the shoulder he tries to shoot Charlotte but he gets shot
