so you might have read the title of this video and been like what the heck does being a woman have to do with productivity isn't it the same for everyone and in many ways yes but there is one way something that i actually didn't learn until a few years ago that is different and can make a big impact so that's what i'm going to talk about today [Music] hey guys welcome back if you're new around here my name is jill's and i talk about things like feminine energy and self-improvement and wellness for women so if
that's something you're into be sure to hit the red subscribe button below as well as the notification bell so you don't miss when i put out any new videos so when i first started writing out the outline for this video i immediately thought of okay do you remember the pen company bic many many years ago they came out with a pen called vic for her so pens made for a woman and it was totally unreasonable unnecessary and just kind of silly and you know they're unavailable now because they discontinued them but i did find the
amazon listing for it and i'm going to link it in the description box below i highly recommend you go check it out it is so funny to go read the reviews and the questions it's hilarious but anyways i feel like people might automatically have similar thoughts when it comes to productivity for her kind of like what i'm gonna talk about in this video but i promise you that there is some relevant information here and it's not just silly so let's chat about productivity and an important piece that a lot of women might be missing so
here's the deal as women we have different hormones and a different hormone cycle than men and this is really important and impactful and can really affect a lot including how effective and productive we are in our life at certain times in that cycle men have a 24 hour hormone cycle so their hormones are the same every single day and so things like routine and structure and consistency that tends to work really well with their bodies and with their hormones but women are different we have about a 28-day-ish hormone cycle and so our hormones are basically
different every single day so we can learn to be more productive but more specifically how to work with more ease and flow if we understand our bodies better honor its natural ebbs and flows and honor its different strengths during different times of the month so just to be clear it's not that we can't do things during certain times of the month it's not like we're going to be incapable or ineffective after all we are a smart and powerful woman but it's that we have certain strengths during different phases of our cycle and if we choose
to utilize that then we can get so much more done it can be so much easier for us and it comes so much more naturally to us and it's oftentimes a lot more enjoyable too so this all goes back to psycho-syncing principles and i have a few videos on the topic already i'll link one up here and there's also an amazing book called in the flow by alyssa bt which i highly recommend you check out it's incredible book she's an expert on this topic and i'll link it below so basically as woman we can become
more productive by sinking our work or the things that we have to get done to our cycle as best we can and i know that's not always doable but even just making small little changes can really make a big impact and help us immensely once you start understanding the different phases of your cycle and get more in touch with your body you'll start to realize the power this has and how much it can benefit your life so before i dive in you have to understand the four different phases of a woman's menstrual cycle and just
like very high level how it works so you can understand what i'm talking about in this video and i know a lot of women might resist this they're not here for a science lesson and i get it but it literally takes 15 30 seconds to learn and if you already know this information then you can just skip on over to the next section so our 28 ish day hormone cycle breaks down into four different phases so the first phase is the menstrual phase this is when we are bleeding we already know this one this is
when all of our hormones are relatively low when our period ends we move into the follicular phase which is that chunk of time between our period and ovulation and this lasts about seven to ten days or so and that's when our estrogen is slowly rising next is the ovulatory phase this is when we are ovulating and can conceive a child so this lasts about three to four days and this is when our estrogen and luteinizing hormone peak and last is the ludial phase this is the time between ovulation and our next bleed and this lasts
about 10 to 14 days or so now towards the end of this phase this is when our progesterone our estrogen and our testosterone they're all starting to fall to their lowest points and so this is when it's really common to see those signs of pms so that is all you need to know so it was pretty easy so let's get into how to be more productive during each phase in your cycle so let's start with the menstrual phase how can we be more productive when we're on our period so this is one of the times
in our cycle where our intuition is much stronger and so this is a really good time to take some time to sit back and reflect and think about what worked well for you this past month what didn't work out well for you this past month what should you change going forward what are your goals and intentions for the next month are you getting any intuitive hits or downloads about your work or your business or the things that you have to get done because we are naturally more intuitive during this time we tend to get better
clarity and insights about our work or our tasks or whatever if we just take some time to go inward for a little bit and reflect so this is the one phase that might not be as outwardly productive but those inward reflections and those inward light bulb moments those will greatly benefit you down the line when it comes to being productive and being successful and achieving what it is that you want so if you can it's ideal to take things a little bit slower during this phase and not push yourself so much and just let your
body and your mind restore life is a marathon not a sprint and so if you just keep pushing and pushing yourself and not giving yourself a break not giving yourself time to slow down then a lot of times your body will force you to take one and those usually aren't quite as fun think of your period like your inner winter so more sleep maybe more food but once you've honored that season of your cycle you're gonna have so much more energy and vitality as you move out of it so this is more of a productivity
in the long run kind of situation i know that taking it a little bit more gently around this time is not always easy and not always socially acceptable like for example when you work with other people but just do the best you can to not overload yourself during this time it's usually not worth it because here's the thing you can absolutely push through and do everything like normal and still create amazing work but it might not be as effortless as if you're doing it in another phase in your cycle so maybe something that would take
you three hours to do in one phase might take you five hours to do in your menstrual face and ultimately productivity is about doing things with as much ease and flow as possible i encourage you to not look at this as a weakness because it's not it's just a different way of doing things and seeing things just a different perspective in your intuition and your insights that is your strength right now so utilize it so once your period ends and you head into the follicular phase this is when you're really going to start feeling like
yourself again you're going to have so much more energy and drive and so you can really start utilizing that so this is the phase when we are usually the most creative so any work related to creativity will just come much more naturally to us during this time so if you need to do creative tasks this is the time to do it this is also the time to try new things start new projects put yourself into new situations or new experiences because we're going to be a lot more open to this stuff during this time in
our cycle and for a lot of women trying new things during this time can feel really rewarding and really exciting so if that's relevant to your work or the tasks that you have to do then put that energy to use this phase is also a fabulous time for heavy planning dreaming strategizing brainstorming your ideas will be flowing your energy will be higher this will come so much more naturally to us it's not going to be like pulling teeth for ideas it's just going to flow for example let's use my youtube channel so this is a
really good time in my cycle to think about new video topics and start writing notes for those because during this time this is when the ideas are just flowing for me and because it comes so much more natural for me i quickly get into that flow state i enjoy my work a lot more i feel so much more accomplished i get more done in a shorter amount of time basically it's just easy for me during this phase i love this phase it's one of my favorites next is the obligatory phase and this is also one
of my favorites this and the follicular phase are my two favorite phases because we have so much energy but specifically the ovulatory phase is best for tasks relating to communication and social skills our communication and social skills are at their highest points in this time in our cycle so it would be a shame not to utilize it so if you have to go to networking events if you have to hold an important meeting or give an important speech or host an important event this is the ideal time to do it as a woman we are
the most outwardly magnetic during this time just naturally and you know our skin is clear and we are giving off pheromones that subconsciously communicate that we are in our fertile window and so while this doesn't necessarily make us more productive it can make it so people see us in a better light they'll see us as more vibrant and full of life and this can really help us in certain situations these communication skills can also be really helpful when it comes to writing so if you have a lot of tasks that you have to do that
involve a lot of heavy writing this is a great time to do it it's going to come natural to us we're going to be in that flow state much quicker we'll likely be able to word things in the right way and whatnot but definitely take advantage of your magnetism and your communication skills during this time so lastly is the alluvial phase and this is the longest phase out of all of them but just to clarify it's not like when you move from the ovulatory to the ludial phase that everything just changes it's just all of
a sudden dramatic change think of it more like a gentle flow of water changing direction so because your alluvial phase is around two weeks long that first week you still tend to have pretty good energy and kind of still are riding that high from the ovulatory phase but that second week that's when things start to usually feel a little bit different so during this phase creativity and really strong communication might not come as easy but the things that we do excel at are honing in on the details getting organized wrapping things up tying up loose
ends we tend to have a much more analytical detail-oriented approach and this can really help us with certain tasks this is also a really good time to make time for those more boring admin tasks that we don't particularly enjoy but you know we have to do because this is when we're in the energy of like getting things done decluttering our workspace put more energy into those behind the scene tasks that need to be done to keep things running smoothly sometimes i like to think about this phase especially as i get closer to my period as
like my inner assistant you know fine-tuning things taking care of the details etc it's natural as we get closer and closer to our period that we instinctually want to retreat more and turn inward more so if we have the ability to organize our tasks and our to-do's to honor this it can be really helpful so again i know it's not always super easy to organize all your tasks around your cycle and sometimes it might not even be ideal depending on what you have going on in your life but i really encourage you to be more
aware of your energy levels and your strengths during each phase in your cycle and try to take advantage of them as much as you possibly can in whatever ways feel right to you learning this and harnessing the different strengths in my cycle has been the biggest game changer for me and i try to do this as much as i can while not trying so much that i stress about it if you got value from this video please hit that like button so hopefully more women can learn about this information and understand how fascinating their bodies
really are and if you want to learn more about cycle thinking i have these two videos right here one on how to eat better based off of where you are in your cycle and how to work out more effectively based off of your cycle both of them are very interesting i encourage you to go check them out bye guys
