you got 100 for for maths physics in our County how are you I'm good and you I'm great too you are um you're from Limpopo yeah I'm from limbo what's the name of your high school uh so I'll put your Secondary School okay man you you got 100 for uh for maths physics in our County got hundred percent for maths physics County yeah you're one of the national top Achievers right yeah question three in physical sciences position three in physical sciences nationally yeah brother how did you do this man uh I can say a lot
of people can say it has to do with hard work but then uh it is in hard work only also consistency is the key you know you have to be consistent uh and also I got a lot of support from my teachers I had the best teacher most specifically in physical sciences Mr yeah that guy is the best they are and also I was part of this program called TDP talent development program so they provided us with extra classes for mathematics physical sciences also yeah and we were taught by the best like professors the professors
from our Stellenbosch universities those guys are the best so I think that helped me a lot in like AC my matric I can say and also this guy from my school called Mamba detail or you know uh he did his metric in 2021 so he would usually come to our school during the holidays come and teach us you know sharing us the knowledge that he got in his metric and that helped us a lot you know most of the time I didn't rely much on my teachers but then such guys like today or helped us
a lot sometimes you might not hear the teacher but then when he came he's a very good explainer so when he came and explained those kind of things to us yeah I think that helped us a lot not only me but then most of my matriculants also yeah great so you're getting assistance from like students probably still a student right yeah starting at UCT yeah oh he would explain everything to you and stuff man like you got 100 maths physics and accounting so this is your starting okay I know I understand now that you're a
part of TDP and yeah like what did you do different from others well I can say that I studied Mass physics and accounting each and every day you know and I think most of the people find maths and physics to be quite challenging accounting too but then I think it all starts like with having a positive mentality you know once you start changing your mentality about those physics maths and our countries when you start saying or no these things are not difficult they might be challenging mother is not impossible for one to get good marks
in this once you get that mindset uh you'll do well you'll do well fall in love with the subject I love people in physics a lot and it also uh I practice the maths and physics you know each and every day but then also during my study breaks I will do Mass questions and physics questions yeah okay so guys what I learned here he said the attitude must change first you see the the only change first is your attitude towards anything if you say I'm gonna do this this thing is gonna be easy yes it's
gonna be easy for you because you love it you fall in love with it and it's what it's gonna push you each and every day to continue studying it because you're doing something that you love yeah how did you attack a question paper man let's start with accounting how did question paper says you can help you a lot you know uh the the way they said the NSC question papers it isn't really that much different from the previous year so if you know the structure of the paper you know how they said it I think
you'll be fine and also like focusing more on your weaknesses than your strengths you know some people tend to like if they are good maybe inside let's say they're good in algebra they're good in arithmetic sequence for example in maths like they will put more of their time doing those things you know I'm like why should you do spend most of your time doing those things why you can spend most of your time like doing things that you're not good at like for example you did in geometry with some people find quite difficult you know
I think such topics like you did in Geometry are not difficult difficult like questions uh yeah they're not difficult just once one to have like a deep understanding on them you know for example most especially in Mexico Finance those uh formulas and all those that I didn't like memorize them I wanted to know how they got those formulas you know how they are like this formula yeah you know I had an angle of mine who was a mathematics teacher you know uh all those formulas in maths he showed me how they got them you know
so that helped me uh to like get a deep understanding of like when to use them how to use them and how did they come so I think it's not all about like seeing or oh this is the formula okay I'm fine I must memorize it no no how to use it if possible no how did it come that will help you a lot yeah you didn't just memorize the formula you know that uh here I I I'm just you don't you don't substitute from the phone no no not by deriving the formula yeah then
you come to to a conclusion yes okay uh how did you attack physics now uh physics you know I just loved physics man I loved physics uh how did I attack the physical sciences when you see a question paper what happened like you know uh foreign I think most of the question papers that the questions that I come across in the physics papers you know since you did a lot of questions you practiced a lot of questions obviously when you see a question you just remember oh I saw this kind of question it was somewhere
somehow similar to this one so if you did a lot of practicing you will know how to approach the question so that was the case with me as soon as I saw a question I was like oh this is how I must uh do it and also a lot of people cry about multiple choice questions in physics you know since yeah hey most people complain about matter of choice questions Mara I think my support choice questions most especially for paper one at the easiest you know the challenging can be paper too because most of throughout
the whole year most of the time uh when I get a multiple choice question wrong it will be a chemistry based question yeah so for physics I think you know the way you would attempt the questions in those other longer question texts the same thing that you do on all those longer questions you must do it on the multiple choice but then on multiple choice you will be using valuable most of the time so your mathematics skills must apply in math so it's not like in physics it's physics you do physics only no you must
like your analytical ability yeah you must like I use both your mathematics and your physical sciences knowledge and combine them you see when you combine those eyes that's great that's great any last advice for someone who's doing their metric right now uh my advice for someone doing matric is uh start now start preparing for examinations now don't wait for October no you must start now you know uh they usually see the earliest bird catches the fattest way you know so if you start preparing earlier uh you will not even feel the pressure of matric you
know when the exams come you'll be relaxed you know uh you know during my finals most people with cross night for finals but then uh I think sleeping is very very much important so because I like I sacrificed a lot during the term one term two and term three times you didn't wait for the last minute yeah when finals came I didn't have a lot on my plate so that meant I would have enough rest you know yeah getting enough rest is very important you know when you're going to write the exams then yeah you'll
