heaviness that seems to rest on your mind you pray but it feels like there's resistance you try to find peace but something always seems off you're battling something spiritual and it might not just must be an attack from the outside it could be something sitting right inside your home we often think spiritual warfare is only about what we do prayer fasting resisting temptation but let me tell you it's also about what we allow into our lives what you bring into your home matters some objects carry history and that history is not always good some carry
spiritual ual attachments doorways that invite darkness in ways you might not even realize when Joshua LED Israel into the promised land God gave a clear command do not bring detestable things into your house or you will be set apart for Destruction like them Deuteronomy 7:26 that means some objects don't just sit idly on your shelf they bring a presence with them they attract the wrong kind of attention in the spiritual realm there was a time when a missionary visited a village where the people suffered from constant nightmares and sickness they had prayed but nothing changed
then the missionary noticed something many of their homes were filled with charms and objects used in Pagan rituals he explained that these items were invitations open doors to spirits that had no place in their lives when they gathered everything and burned them the atmosphere changed the fear lifted the sickness disappeared peace was restored you see some things don't belong in the life of a Believer and if we hold on to them we are holding on to the very thing that's keeping us bound now I know some of you may be thinking but it's just an
object it's just a book just a statue just a symbol how can an item have spiritual influence that's exactly how the enemy deceives people by making them think that physical objects don't matter but throughout history we see that objects are often tied to spiritual power in the Bible God used objects for his glory the Ark of the Covenant carried his presence Paul's handkerchiefs heal the sick but the enemy always counterfeits Idols amulets cursed objects these things don't just sit passively they can hold spiritual weight some of you may have things in your house that have
been handed down for Generations but do you know their origin do you know the spirit behind them a souvenir from a foreign country a piece of artwork a necklace even certain books or music if it was dedicated to something other than God if it carries symbolism tied to Darkness it might be carrying something into your home that you don't want I once spoke to a woman who had been struggling with severe depression she had tried everything counseling prayer fasting but something kept pressing her down one day she heard a teaching about removing spiritually dangerous items
from the home and she decided to pray through her house as she walked through she felt a strong uneasiness near a particular shelf there she had a collection of objects she had received from different places some were tied to superstitions some to false religions she hadn't thought much about them before but when she removed them something changed the weight lifted the nightmar stopped her mind felt clear why because she closed the door she didn't even realize had been open if you've been feeling something is wrong in your home don't ignore it start asking the Holy
Spirit to show you if anything in your possession is an open door to the enemy walk through your house with prayer touch the things in your home and ask Lord does this honor you does this belong in a place where your presence dwells if the answer is no then it doesn't belong with you if you wouldn't Place It Before the Throne of God why place it in the home where you expect his presence to abide you don't need to live under oppression you don't need to tolerate fear confusion or chaos in your own house but
you do need to recognize that what you allow in your home has an effect on the atmosphere if you're serious about walking in Freedom if you truly want the peace of God in your home then it's time to remove the things that don't belong the things that invite Darkness must go and when you let let them go you will experience the presence of God like never before the Bible is not just a book of History it is a book of principles a Guide to Life when God gives a warning he's not trying to take something
away from you he's trying to protect you he knows things we don't know sees things we can't see and all throughout scripture he makes it very clear that certain things are not to be brought into our homes because they bring more than what meets the eye in Deuteronomy 7:26 God says do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you like it will be set apart for Destruction regarded as vile and utterly detested for it is set apart for Destruction now I want you to think about that for a moment God wasn't just talking
about avoiding sin he was was talking about physical objects things made by human hands that carried a spiritual weight why because what you possess can influence what possesses you this is not Superstition this is a spiritual principle in the book of Acts when the gospel spread through Ephesus people started realizing that they had things in their homes that didn't align with their new life in Christ and what did they do they brought out their books of Witchcraft their Scrolls of sorcery and burned them publicly they didn't sell them they didn't give them away they destroyed
them because when something carries a spiritual influence you don't pass it on you cut it off some of you are wondering why you feel a heaviness in your home why there's tension why there's confusion why there's a spirit of Oppression you can't shake you pray you seek God but something feels off let me ask you have you looked at what's in your house are there things sitting on your shelves hanging on your walls or tucked away in your drawers that God has already warned about some of you are dealing with spiritual warfare but the battle
didn't start with an attack it started with an invitation I remember speaking with a young man who was struggling with tormenting thoughts he couldn't sleep felt constantly anxious and no matter how much he prayed it wouldn't lift one night he woke up feeling a heavy presence in his room and for the first time he asked Lord show me what's in my life that's not of you his eyes landed on a statue he had bought years ago while traveling something he thought was just art a souvenir but as he looked at it he felt the Holy
Spirit prompt him get rid of it so he did and the moment he removed it from his home that Darkness lifted now let me be clear objects themselves don't have power a piece of wood a stone a book or a piece of jewelry isn't dangerous in itself but what it represents what it was dedicated to and what it carries can bring spiritual consequences just as a Bible carries the power of God's word just as anointing oil is used as a symbol of God's presence there are also things that the enemy uses to bring Darkness into
a home some people say well it doesn't mean anything to me but that's not the question the question is what does it mean in the spiritual realm you see the enemy doesn't operate by your ignorance he operates by legal access if something in your home has been dedicated to another Spirit it carries a presence with it whether you acknowledge it or not and if God told Israel to remove these things if he warned them not to even touch them then why would we think we can entertain them without consequence you don't have to live under
unnecessary battles you don't have to struggle with oppression that could be broken just by obeying what God has already said some of you need to walk through your house and ask the holy spirit is there anything here that doesn't belong and when he shows you don't hesitate to remove it if you're serious about living in God's freedom then you need to take his warnings seriously what you allow in your home matters what you permit in your space shapes the atmosphere around you and when you align your home with God's presence you will find peace like
you've never known before there are things in this world that seem harmless on the surface things that appear to be just decorations entertainment or cultural artifacts but in the spiritual realm they carry a weight a presence an influence the enemy doesn't always come through the front door announcing his arrival with destruction no he's subtle he slips in quietly often disguised as something ordinary something small something that seems too insignificant to be a threat and before you know it there's confus in your home there's fear there's division there's an uneasiness that lingers and you can't quite
put your finger on it but what if I told you that some of the things sitting in your home right now are open doors for Darkness there are certain objects that attract demonic influence whether we realize it or not now I know some people will say oh that's just being superstitious but let me ask you something why does God warn his people again and again to stay away from certain things why does he tell them to destroy Idols to burn books of sorcery to remove things that have been dedicated to false gods is because these
things are not neutral they come with a spirit attached to them some of you have been struggling with battles that didn't start with an event but with an object let's talk about some of these things because when we expose the enemy we strip him of his power one of the most common open doors is anything related to the occult that means statues charms symbols tarot cards astrology books and any item connected to Witchcraft people say oh but it's just fun just decoration just something I picked up from a trip but let me tell you anything
that was created for the purpose of honoring another Spirit another power is an invitation it may not mean anything to you but in the spiritual realm it means something and it's not just obvious occult objects some of the most dangerous things are the ones that disguise themselves as entertainment music that glorifies do movies filled with demonic imagery books that celebrate rebellion and Witchcraft these are not just forms of entertainment they are messages they carry a spirit you cannot fill your home with things that glorify the enemy and expect peace to dwell there a man once
told me that his daughter had started waking up in the middle of the night terrified saying she felt something in her room they prayed they spoke scripture but nothing seemed to break it then one night he felt the Lord impress on him look at what's in her room as he walked through his eyes landed on a collection of books popular books best-selling books but they were filled with dark imagery spells and Supernatural themes he didn't think much of them before but when he removed them from the house the torment stopped immediately some of you have
things in your home right now that are inviting Warfare into your life it could be clothing with occult symbols jewelry that represents something dark artifacts from foreign lands that were dedicated to false gods even something as small as a souvenir can carry a presence I once met a woman who had been struggling with depression for years one day during prayer the Holy Spirit Led her to an old necklace she had received as a gift it had been used in rituals before it ever made its way to her she got rid of it and for the
first time in years she felt free we need to take this seriously the enemy is looking for any foothold he can find and if he can't get to you directly he will use what's around you he will use what you bring into your home he will use what you refuse to remove and here's the thing God has given you Authority over your home you don't have to live under oppression you don't have to tolerate fear and confusion but you do have to act you have to walk through your home pray over it and remove anything
that does not align with God's pres there's a reason why scripture warns us about the power of words words are not just sounds they carry Spirit they they carry intention and they carry Authority God spoke the world into existence with his words Jesus cast out demons with his words the enemy too operates through words words you speak over yourself and words that linger in your environment and what many people don't realize is that some of the things sitting in their homes are filled with words that invite Darkness rather than light look around your home what
are the words hanging on your walls what are the words written in the books on your shelves what are the words being played in your music the words flowing through your television because words are seeds and whatever you plant in your home you will harvest in your life if your home is filled with word words of fear of lust of rebellion of hopelessness then don't be surprised when the atmosphere begins to reflect what has been spoken into it a young woman once told me that she struggled with overwhelming sadness in her house no matter how
much she prayed she couldn't shake it one day as she was cleaning she noticed the lyrics in some of the songs she listened to regularly songs about heartbreak betrayal and despair and and she realized that she had been feeding her spirit nothing but sorrow so she made a decision she removed every song every book every movie The glorified pain instead of healing and within weeks the heaviness lifted because what you allow to fill your space will eventually fill your spirit some of you have objects in your home right now that are covered in words of
death and destruction it might be books that promote witchcraft posters that idolize Rebellion or souvenirs with inscriptions in languages you don't even understand but let me tell you something just because you don't understand the words doesn't mean the spirit behind them isn't at work there are things in your home that have been cursed before they ever got to you there are words written on objects that carry demonic agreements and as long as they remain in your house they have the right to influence Your Atmosphere God tells us in Proverbs death and life are in the
power of the tongue what you speak matters what you listen to matters what you read matters and what you display in your home matters the enemy knows this which is why he works so hard to get his words into your environment he wants his voice to be the one filling your home instead of God's voice he wants you to surround yourself with things that weaken your faith instead of strengthen it he wants his message in your books in your movies in your music in your decorations because if he can't get you to speak his words
he will settle for getting them into your space where they will slowly begin to shape your thoughts and emotions I remember a man who had struggled with rage for years he would explode in Anger over the smallest things and no matter how much he tried to control it it felt like something else took over one day he felt prompted to look at the things in his house as he did he noticed his collection of movies every single one filled with violence revenge and hatred he had been feeding his soul with anger for years and it
was no surprise that it had taken root in his heart he removed them all replaced them with things that honored God and within weeks the difference in his Spirit was undeniable some of you need to do the same you need to go through your home and examine what you've been allowing in because the words you surround yourself with will either build you up or tear you down they will either bring God's presence or push it away and let me tell you something when you cleanse your home of words that do not align with God's truth
you make room for his peace his joy and his presence to dwell and where his presence is Darkness has no place there are things we hold on to things we keep tucked away in our homes thinking they are harmless things tied to the past to memories to people who are no longer in our lives some of these things are sentimental others are gifts but let me tell you something not everything that enters your home is meant to stay some objects carry spiritual weight and if they were ever connected to Darkness they bring that influence with
them you may think you just have an old piece of jewelry and inherited artifact or a Keepsake from an old relationship but if it was ever dedicated ated to another Spirit if it was ever used in an ungodly practice then it carries an open door there are people holding on to gifts from relationships that God already told them to walk away from they've got Rings letters clothing things that keep them tied to a past that no longer serves them and then they wonder why they can't move forward why their hearts feel heavy why they keep
feeling drawn back into Old Cycles you as long as you keep something that represents that Bond the attachment remains a woman once told me that she struggled with nightmares for years after she walked away from an abusive relationship she prayed she fasted but the torment didn't stop one day as she was going through her thing she found an old necklace he had given her it seemed insignificant just a piece of jewelry but the moment she held it she felt the weight of all the pain she had gone through she knew in her spirit that it
carried a connection she didn't need anymore the moment she got rid of it the nightmares stopped the enemy wants you to keep these things because he knows that as long as you hold on to them a part of you remains trapped in what God has already freed you from he wants you to keep the gifts from past relationships the symbols of past sins the objects tied to Old struggles because those things serve as reminders as anchors as spiritual ties that pull you back just when you're about to move forward and it's not just personal items
some people have things in their homes that were given to them by others things that came with a wrong Spirit attached maybe someone gave you a statue a piece of art a carved figure that was prayed over by someone who does not serve God maybe you accepted a gift from someone who was jealous of you someone who never had good intentions for you you think it's just an object but in the spiritual realm it can be a doorway but there was a man who told me his home felt different after receiving a certain gift from
a family member at first he ignored it but then he noticed a shift arguments increased tension rose and a strange heaviness filled the air he prayed but the atmosphere didn't change finally he asked the Lord to show him if something in his home was causing it his Spirit was drawn to that very object without hesitation he removed it prayed over his home and the shift was immediate the peace returned the weight lifted some of you need to take inventory of what you've been holding on to you need to ask God to reveal anything in your
home that is keeping you bound to things he already told you to leave behind because the enemy knows that if he can't get you to go back he can at least keep you looking looking back and as long as your hands are still gripping the past you won't have the capacity to receive what God has for your future God calls us to walk in Freedom to walk in peace to walk in his presence and that means removing anything in our homes in our lives that does not align with him because when you make space for
God he fills that space with something greater his power his joy and his unshakable peace there is a spiritual law that many people Overlook it is simple but powerful whatever you welcome you give permission to stay if you let something in whether it's through an object a habit or an agreement you have given it a place in your home in your life and in your atmosphere and there are things that people allow into their homes not realizing that these things carry an invitation to spirits that are not of God some doors don't open because of
what you say but because of what you tolerate some people wonder why they feel Restless in their own homes why they can't seem to find peace why there is tension in the air they think it's just stress just life just another hard season but often it's the Unseen presence of something that was given a right to stay something that was invited in without even realizing it there was a man who once told me he never felt comfortable in his home he had lived in the same place for years but every night it was as if
a weight sat on his chest he would wake up exhausted burdened anxious it wasn't until he began praying for discernment that he realized the issue it wasn't in him it was in what he had allowed over the years he had filled his home with objects from places he never question he had decorations from cultures that worshiped other gods souvenirs from places known for idolatry symbols that he didn't fully understand but thought looked interesting it seemed innocent at first but the moment he started removing those things he noticed a change the heaviness lifted the anxiety left
he slept peacefully for the first time in years this is what happens when you take authority over your space your home is not just a physical place it is a spiritual atmosphere it should be a place where the presence of God dwells a place where his peace rests but when you allow things into that space that are tied to Darkness you are inviting the wrong Spirit it might be through entertainment movies music books that glorify the things God has called Unholy it might be through objects artifacts symbols things passed down that were dedicated to another
Power it might even be through habits things that were once considered small compromises but have now become strongholds a woman once told me that her children were having nightmares night after night she couldn't understand why she prayed over them anointed them spoke blessings over them but the torment didn't stop one day she felt the Holy Spirit prompt her to check their room as she looked around her eyes fell on a few Toys characters from shows that had dark themes things she had bought without a second thought she didn't realize the messages behind them the Spirits
they represented but as soon as she removed them the nightmares stopped what you allow in matters the enemy doesn't need an open invitation all he needs is an open door if you give him space he will take it if you leave a foothold he will turn it into a stronghold that's why God calls us to be vigilant to guard what we allow into our lives to be mindful of what we welcome into our homes because the presence of an object is not just about what it is some things come with a spirit attached to them
and until they are removed they will continue to influence the atmosphere this is why cleansing your home is more than just a physical act it is a spiritual declaration it is telling the enemy that he has no place here it is choosing to fill your home with things that glorify God things that invite his presence instead of pushing it away it is setting a standard drawing a line refusing to give any room to things that do not align with his kingdom and when you do this you see a shift the peace of God will settle
the heaviness will lift the confusion will break because where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom and when you take authority over your home when you cleanse it of anything that is not of God you make room for his presence to fill every corner every space every part of your life
