what's up drop services dylan zigler here today we're going to be interviewing ed so it's originally from botswana currently in portugal and he's an experienced entrepreneur doing around six figures in his business right now handling many services in the digital marketing space so um ed if you could just kind of introduce yourself and a few of the services that your business is doing well thanks um so i yeah i grew up in botswana i moved to london in 2008 i lived there for 10 years and then i moved to portugal and in london i was
running a business manufacturing bicycle lights in china but it was a uk brand and distributing lights worldwide uh with an e-commerce store and threw distributors into retail around the world and then i launched a coding boot camp for a company in france called lavago or the wagon as it's pronounced phonetically where i learned basically how to change people's lives and make them autonomous and be in control of their own lives then i moved to portugal and i didn't have that job anymore well it was a franchise it's a job slasher opening my own business and
then i wanted to be autonomous but i didn't want to learn to code and then i found i was going to do drop shipping then i saw job searching blueprint and it just appealed way more to me and i i i took it on and that's how i ended up doing the course and now we run a little digital agency which offers seo google adwords facebook ad management uh and facebook campaigns websites e-commerce stores learning management systems kind of just a all-around uh digital studio with growth and with practical uh let's say building of of
products okay awesome yeah and i mean when you got into the job servicing blueprint did you go through the entire course yet or yeah it's funny i like i got the course and i i sat down i was like right i'm gonna do this like every second of it and i'm just gonna follow it rule by rule because i'm one for losing focus a lot and i just got carried away and i started we we got a video animation site up started selling videos but i didn't even really set up the marketing channels properly i
took little bits of your advice and just started going for it and i just started reaching companies directly of linkedin or through my network uh on different groups i'm part of people like yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and that was we started getting business um so like let's do facebook ads and seo so we put everything into one umbrella and we start off started offering the services directly but i wish i have i wish i had followed the course all the way to the end and in fact i'm going back to do it now we're
probably going to hundred thousand uh we've been operating for what really since july 2020 it's now february first week of february 2021. so we'll probably hit a hundred thousand in two months i reckon so nine months of business eight months business so i wish i'd done the course full time i think we would have i honestly honestly with your mark with your all your marketing tactics and channels when i look at the course now it's obvious we can five times that if i just sat down to do it but i got carried away yeah well
i mean you've also got a pretty busy what a pretty pretty busy life as well you know two kids and a wife to take care of so probably a bit of spindle which again is another reason which is another reason i wanted to have this life right is to be autonomous work from anywhere and have the time once the machine is working and the business is running uh let's say on as much close to autopilot as i can it gives me time to be with them so yeah yeah for sure and i mean what what
would you say your favorite part of the course has been so far or the community or coaching or whatever aspect the community is amazing so i'd say the content and community the most valuable parts of this course of course the content is but the community i would say is as valuable if not more you've got you leading it for a start which is i've never been in a community with such a focused and responsive leader who's determined to make everyone succeed you are and then the course as well is so thorough and i've been i've
signed i've had other courses um and i've followed a few other courses whether they're youtube tutorials which are free and paid for ones as well and i can't find a single course which is as thorough as yours it's literally step by step there's nothing whether you use it where you assume the user should know what to do next you just guide them from start to finish so it's extremely thorough awesome okay yeah i mean that's really good to hear that's kind of one of the main goals with it okay and i mean how soon did
you start seeing the results once you've got your business going yeah so i got it i i was one of the first members this uh sort of october 2019 i think and then one of the first i took a bit of time off i'd worked my ulcer for 11 years and i just want to take some time so i thought i'll start in january 2021 so i started really in january 20 january 2020 and then it was going well videos inquiries coming in and then um we went into lockdown in end of february beginning of
march 2020 and my wife and i to juggle with the kids two very small kids it was pretty crazy so i basically took time off it was a good opportunity to be with the kids and not work so i did until july started again in july um 2020 and we've only seen an increase in figures until now how much are you currently making in the business oh yeah well this has been a great month so uh from july to the end of december 2020 it was uh 45 000 euros invoiced and paid and then and
that's honestly we haven't spent it really that much in fact nothing on marketing so just to give credit to your course if you just even do the very basics you can get you can get business right um and then this year january we've sent out 25 000 euros of proposals and we've closed 15 000 of those proposals and we've got another 9 000 euro proposal which i'm about to send out uh today um and hopefully that one will convert so in theory it'll be about 35 000 euros of proposals in seven weeks of 2021. nice
nice okay and what are your goals in the future yeah not too bad um no but honestly i've just taken a small proportion of your course and applied that to what we're doing here it's not like rocket science right but i wish i had i need to start again because we'll definitely through three or five times that so yeah i mean we get that a lot as well i mean obviously once you start implementing some of the stuff in the course you start seeing results you know you need that motivation to keep going through the
course and start implementing even more but once you hit a certain level sometimes you're happy with that for a while and it takes a little bit longer to start wanting to get more information to be able to implement that information because there's no point watching it unless you're going to be implementing it as well so you have to be at that point where you're ready and it sounds like you definitely are awesome okay um and i guess you know what would you say has been the most important activity or your secret success so far in
your business uh i've got a bit of a oh i've got a sales background so having worked in sales and my whole life um and having started two companies that effectively i was literally the sales guy obviously from day one um so that to me is really important um but then the most i'd say as important factor is that the guy who i've worked with in this business my business partner he's got a technical background right so he's a wordpress uh expert of 10 years and um designer you can use all the tools for design
you can make motion graphics and you can do simple animation and whatnot as well as great photographer videographer um and digital marketer as well right so he's got a digital marketing background and worked on big accounts early on in his career so that's helped a lot and i think the pairing of sales and the pairing of technical and marketing background has worked really well um because i can just get on with client liaison i can get on with managing the projects let's say and project management so to speak um which is also a downfall because
i should be stepping away from that but look it's worked really well to get us off the ground so quickly and so well it's been a great a great pairing and he's also quite technical and runs software teams um as well and has had his own business running a vpn to vpn services so okay it's been a good combination um and i learned from one of my previous companies not having a business partner was uh if it was harder much harder um so that's why i went for this decision and it's working really well awesome
yeah i mean it sounds like it so um okay i mean before you jumped into the course did you have any kind of um barriers that you had to get over to to jump in and what was the process in terms of you know removing those limiting beliefs and getting into the point where you could be successful do you already feel like oh hey i just want to jump in i already know um i've done so many courses before i already know that this looks like it's going to be okay was there anything stopping you
no no there was actually i mean i i'm not i've may have run comp to businesses before but i'm not a great business and i know that i'm not you know i've got serious weaknesses and flaws and um so so i know where i need to improve and um that's when i was signing up to your course i was a bit skeptical of just buying a course you know paying for something i didn't really you know i didn't really have a clue what i'm gonna follow some instructions and do it and then i remember emailing
you and yeah and or emailing your team and you're like listen if you're on the fence come back later and i was like right okay he's serious and he said because it because it works so just trust it and i did came in and it worked straight away so yeah it was just that you know and and i do need guidance uh throughout um anyone does i think running a company of any level people have guidance um so having a course to get you off the ground is hugely beneficial and also when i look at
how much cost is thought my other company and let's say the manufacturing one you know i was 15 000 euros making a prototype i was 40 000 euros running the first order in china to make the first lights then you've got storage shipping packaging you you name it i mean the thing was crazy before it sold the unit i was like 80 000 down and yeah i was like in profit after you know after we put our website live so yeah it was um it's and it lets you be nimble this business model so that's
what i enjoyed about it is that very quickly i realized you can be um flexible in the way you do business and you can lower your risk the way you want to do business you spend less on marketing and you spend less on overheads and you can still get business to cover your course and to run a business properly it's just not going to be as huge a your revenues aren't going to be as huge as if you started pumping lots of more money into marketing so yeah i just feel i like the business model
it's less risky and um it's flexible awesome okay and i mean what would you say to people starting out you know wanting to get into business who have never even tried it before what would you you know um what would your overall number one piece of advice be for them geez i don't think i'm a good place to be giving people advice but um for your course i mean just if if i was looking at the drop servicing model like this just just get your head down and do it um when you think that the
work has basically been done by a load of other companies you're just going to do it differently or slightly better than them right so the the way that they operate in the way that a drop servicing business operates it's theirs everywhere it's all over the internet going go and find some people doing what you want to do and make your service better or different in a way and it's just a it's just a process you've got actions you need to do each day of your course do the actions take them off the list go through
the process it's the same with your business you've got actions to do each day go through the process uh and the results should come i think um but i would just say if my advice would be to to follow the course from you know as thoroughly as you can honestly because yeah they're now points where i've got in our business and i'm like i have to go back sorry i have to go back into the course and try and find the relevant place of relevant topic and relevant subject for filling this gap in my business
but i'm out of sync because i didn't do that module and now it's just really annoying that's why i'm going to dedicate uh whenever i get my life back off the lockdown i'm literally going to dedicate every day for two months to do it it's quite simply i'm going to do your course from start to finish no no question awesome awesome yeah i think that's really good advice in general as well having that map and then actually following that map be a much faster path to go down and kind of going all over the place
and getting like distracted by shiny objects and everything so very cool okay um well that's basically you know all the questions i have today thank you a lot for sharing that story with us it's super inspiring um and you know you might not realize it but you've made a lot of progress um and i'm looking forward to seeing where you get to next and maybe we can do another interview once we get to that point i'd love to no thank you very much dylan and again um for the community it's uh very powerful and it's
