Tomato and pepper seedlings must be the right size to be transplanted outdoors. They should be ready at the end of April and the beginning of May, which means at least 15 cm in size and larger. Sometimes it is noticeable that small seedlings grow slowly indoors and that they need additional encouragement.
Here's what you should give them. While the tomato and pepper seedlings are still in the common plant nursery, they draw nutrients from the seeds and only need to be watered. The key is to make sure they have enough light and the right temperature.
At this stage I water them with stagnant water as used for watering flowers. But to accelerate the growth, I will still add a spoonful of honey to the water. Stir well to dissolve the honey in the water.
I do not water directly with a strong stream of liquid so as not to damage the plants, but draw this liquid into a syringe and spray it on the ground. I do the same for pepper seedlings. In the second stage, after picking the tomatoes, when the plants are already in separate containers to accelerate growth, I make a liquid from ingredients that we generally have in the kitchen.
I add a bag of dry yeast and a spoonful of sugar to 100 milliliters of milk, and then 1 liter of lukewarm water. I mix all the ingredients well and let it stand for 1 hour. With this solution of yeast, milk and sugar, I water the seedlings of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and lettuce.
Young plants receive a strong incentive for further growth and thickening of the stem. Fertilizing seedlings with yeast has a positive effect on their appearance and growth. Yeast solution is also known as flower fertilizer.
As the dough grows from the leaven, so the seedling grows. Yeast is rich in vitamin B and minerals, as well as beneficial microorganisms that help plants grow and strengthen immunity. Milk strengthens the root, but also the aerial parts of the plant.
Plants that are watered with milk have better immunity and it protects them from some diseases. Milk prevents the development of fungi, improves the quality of the soil and the uptake of nutrients. It contains ingredients that a young plant needs, from calcium to other macro and micro elements.
