welcome to part seven of the full no YouTube ads course and today we're going to talk about how to think about funnels for ads and there are a few funnel misconceptions people have most people build a funnel and then think they're done they think the goal is just to build a funnel just to have one but that's wrong and most people also think that the more complex a funnel is the better it should perform the more tactics and techniques and things are added to this funnel the think the better it gets but the opposite is
mostly true funnels should be as simple as possible because more moving parts means more can go wrong the more stuff your funnel has the more possibilities for errors there is so start with a funnel that's as easy and as simple as possible and over time make small and lots of 1% optimizations so you start with an simple and super easy funnel and then over time make lots of small 1% optimizations till the funnel is an absolute monster but you don't just go ahead and try to build a monster right out the gate no you start
with a simple funnel and optimize it over time to be a monster to get a monster but you don't try to start with a monster so rule number one so funnel rule number one funnels are never done they should always be optimized your funnel is never done it's always time for optimization and rule number two you start as simple as possible and over time with these optimizations you get to a monster funnel and what's the goal of a funnel the goal of a funnel is to convince someone to do something Amazon for example doesn't need
funnels to sell High ticket stuff what that's our goal we want to sell High ticket products to customers and Amazon doesn't need a funnel to sell High ticket stuff why because the visitors are already convinced they already know they want to buy this and then go to Amazon already convinced and just click on check out let's say for example I want to buy a camera that's the that's the thing I want to buy the camera then I go to Amazon and just simply buy it I'm already convinced before I get to Amazon that's why they
don't need a funnel because as the first line is saying the goal of a funnel is to convince somebody if he's already convinced we wouldn't even need a funnel we would just be taking orders simply like Amazon they are just taking orders they're not selling anything or they're not marketing anything really we can't do it like this we have to do the convincing in the funnel because we're not just taking orders we have to convince people to buy our product and in order to convince somebody in our funnel we first have to find out what
they truly want and I'm not just saying what they want what they truly truly want what's the one biggest thing your target audience your customers truly want we have to find this point out in order to convince them to buy our product in the funnel and that's extremely important and if you've watched all the videos before I mean this is a course this a training series you should watch all videos after another then you've probably already seen this diagram that's the parts of a market let's say this is your Market let's say this is the
real estate market again and these are the different segments they're the complete beginners there are the advanced people and the hardcore people the majority of the market are the complete beginners a big portion are the advanced people and a small portion are the hardcore people you should already be familiar with this concept and now let's look at what these different portions of the market truly want because every portion or segment of the market wants different things and it's super important as I said right here look at the last line in order to convince someone we
first have to find out what they truly want and all segments of your Market want different things so be super careful and pick your segment and make sure you find out what this specific segment wants because I stated it again every one of these segments wants different stuff let's look at it in this real estate example right here the complete beginners want an simple Plug and Play system that makes passive income from home that's it uh real estate isn't even mentioned because they are not even that interested in real estate they don't know a lot
of things about real estate so they simply want to plug and play system that makes imp passive income from home that's what they want and they're not going to buy anything else if it's more complicated than that they're not going to buy it because they will be repulsed by it they will be scared Away by too complicated stuff because they are not that invested they don't have that much knowledge about this topics and the advanced people what do they truly want the advanced people want a beginner friendly way to make $10,000 in 30 days or
less by buying and flipping their first house that's an real estate offer that would be targeting more advanced people people and beginner friendly way to make $10,000 in the next 30 days or less by buying and flipping the first house that's an advanced offer but the hardcore people have different wants and needs they truly want different stuff the hardcore people want an easy and guaranteed way to save 20% of expenses on every house day flip that's the stuff an hardcore person would buy so as you can see here this is all in the real estate
Niche it's the same Niche it's the same Market real estate but every segment has need they have other stuff they want and you have to be really careful that you pick your segment of the market and really make your message perfectly for your segment and this is the hard part finding out what your segment of the market truly wants like truly what they really really want is the hard part and if you've already run ads before in the past maybe look at your best performing ads and best performing opin because your best performing ads and
best performing opin most likely have resonated with your target audience like there was a match they your target audience liked that message so if you look at your past ad messages and opt-in messages see if you can find any patterns because maybe you already can find out with these two informations with the ad messages and the optim messages if there are any Tendencies what the market really wants and these are indicators of what the market really wants like look at your best performing ads and your best performing opin messages and like search for patterns look
for similarities and the goal is to figure this message or This Promise out and then model the rest of the funnel according to the winning message so we want to find the message the market truly wants or the promise the market truly wants we want to find this message the market really resonates with and most of the time as I mentioned it we will find this we will find indic IND ators of this winning message of this winning promise in the past winning ads and in our past winning optin and then if we if we
found this winning message then we want to model the rest of the funnel according to this winning message because it's super important that our entire business and the entire funnel is one straight line like we have the same promise all the way through we have the same promise in the ads we have the same promise through the entire funnel we have the same promise in our front end product and we have the same promise in our backend upsells it's one straight line and the message is congruent all the way through and that's super important but
most people's Messengers are all over the place they have a different message in the ads than in the funnel they have a different message in the funnel than in the front end product and have a different message in the front-end product than in the back end upstairs and this simply doesn't work the person in the sales process will just be super confused because they click on the ad with message one then land on the funnel and expect message message one but they get message two a completely different message in the funnel super weird they didn't
want to look at message two they clicked on the ad because they liked message one and then they land on the funnel and expect also that the funnel is about message one but the funnel is then about a completely different topic it's a completely different message or marketing angle and then they will just leave the page because there's a mismatch the message of the ad doesn't match up with the message of the funnel and the message of the funnel doesn't match up with the message of the front front-end product and the message of the front
end product doesn't match up with the message of the backend upsells and there are always mismatches where people drop off simply because it doesn't make sense if if you talk about gaining money in the ads and then the funnel is about not losing money that's a mismatch let's say for example our ads talk about gaining revenue for our business our ads talk about gaining revenue for our business if our funnel then talked about not losing money a different message that wouldn't make sense that's a mismatch people click on the ad because they want to increase
their revenue and then they land on a funnel that tells them how not to lose money that's a different message they didn't want that they wanted this message they wanted the first message so there's a mismatch if we talk about increasing Revenue in our ad also our funnel has to talk about increasing revenue and also our front-end product has to increase their revenue and also their backend upsells have to make sense with the topic of increasing Revenue our message has to be congruent all the way through all the way through the entire business okay keep
that in mind one message all the way through one straight line don't mismatch these messages okay
