huge amount of History here too as it is one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe with evidence of human activity dating back to the Neolithic period it was such an influential Place back then that the term hot culture is even used by archaeologists to describe the early Iron Age in Central Europe visitors here can still see the salt mine located high above the village a guided tour through the mine offers a journey into the past where you can learn about the techniques used to extract salt and the lives of the miners who worked
