soulmates are real and while this question might sound cliche the story I'm about to tell is as repulsive as it is grotesque I've worked as a cremator for a little over 7 years and what I've witnessed is nothing like what you see on television in crematoriums it's not just about putting bodies into an oven and handing over an N of Ashes the reality is far more complex than that in my line of work we have to get used to living among smells bodily fluids bad energies and even clients who threaten us as Servants of death
we are rarely given the recognition we deserve though I suppose that comes as no surprise let me tell you being around so Much Death daily can drive you mad and I'm not talking about harmless Madness I mean the kind of insanity that leads to obsessive and repulsive acts because of this many of us working in crematorium morgs funeral homes and cemeteries need some kind of healthy distraction to keep our mental health in check but what happens when our distractions backfire on us at the first crematorium I worked at there was a colleague named Robert on
his days off Robert enjoyed drawing and spending as much time in bed as possible Robert had been working in the death business for 13 years and for someone surrounded by such Darkness he was surprisingly sane functional and even somewhat friendly one of his peculiarities though was that he often talked to me about a woman he only saw in his dreams on several occasions he dream of her as if they were a couple in some kind of dream world while we worked receiving the deceased he would tell me about her he said her name was Alana
she was 26 years old and she lived in this very country sometimes he would draw detailed pictures of her and show us claiming she was real and that one day he'd meet her in the real world his obsession with this woman from his fantasies lasted over a year and by that point my colleagues and I were sick of hearing about Alana still it seemed to provide Robert with a sense of stability then one December morning just before he arrived at the crematorium we received the body of a young woman who looked exactly like the girl
he described and Drew before I lost my grip on reality I told myself it had to be a dark coincidence but things took a Sinister turn when we read the report of her death when I saw her name on the paperwork my blood ran cold her name was Alana she had died from a brain injury after violently striking her head against a concrete block the cor's report ruled out Foul Play stating it was an accident during a party the report noted that Alana was under the influence of alcohol and there was nothing she could have
done to save herself from falling and hitting her head knowing Robert's fragile mental state I rushed to sign the necessary forms to expedite The Cremation process we needed to make sure Alana's body was cremated before Robert arrived we were convinced that that if he saw her he would lose his mind and we had no idea how he might react unfortunately before we could carry out the cremation Robert showed up the moment Robert entered the room and laid eyes on Alana's body he broke down in tears his cries turned into desperate whales and he began screaming
at God the scene unfolding in front of us was utterly surreal a colleague who had worked among the dead for years was now mourning a complete stranger as if she were his closest loved one the good news was that Alana's family wasn't aware of this incident otherwise the situation could have spiraled further out of control we tried to ignore Robert's irrational behavior and continued preparing the body for cremation however as we approached the furnace Robert stepped between us and the body he declared that he wouldn't allow us to turn her to ashes unless he was
cremated alongside her the situation became dangerously unstable Robert's Obsession had clearly consumed him with no other options we left the cremation room and discreetly called for security we assigned two employees to stay behind and keep an eye on Robert while we waited for help but as bizarre as this might sound when when we returned with the security team we found the two employees unconscious on the floor we looked around in panic only to realize that both Robert and Alana's body were gone someone shouted how did this happened and a police officer quickly deduced that Robert
had escaped through the emergency exit in a matter of seconds he was gone driving off with the corpse in his car to avoid a scandal our superiors ordered us not to say a word about what had just happened as police cars sped off to track him down we were instructed to remain silent any disclosure about the incident would not only ruin the crematoriums reputation but also cost us our jobs or Worse lead to legal consequences about 30 minutes later the officers called to inform us that they had lost Robert's Trail despite their efforts they were
unsure of his whereabouts for the first time in the crematoriums history we were dealing with the kidnapping of a deceased body when our superiors learned about this they made the decision to deceive Alana's family they ordered us to place ashes from another cremation into an n and deliver it to Alana's parents they reasoned that her family would never know the truth revealing what had actually happened would lead to Serious consequences for the entire staff so suppressing every ounce of morality I had left I followed their orders I watched as Al Lana parents left with an
N full of someone else's ashes it was one of the most gut-wrenching moments of my life I felt like a monster betraying the trust of grieving clients who had placed their faith in us the kidnapping of Alana's body remained a dark secret within the crematorium for the next 17 days 17 days after Robert's disappearance one of my co-workers claimed to have seen him driving around town with Al Lana's corpse seated in the passenger seat of his car it was a sight straight out of a nightmare fortunately the authorities managed to capture Robert later that same
day while he was taken to prison Alana's body was returned to the crematorium when we received her body it was clear that she had been through unimaginable abuse the Alana we placed on the preparation table that day was no longer the same her skin had turned gray her face was crawling with lvy and the stench was unbearable the image of her in that state still haunts me to this day we gave her the cremation she deserved as per protocol but the situation left an indelible mark on all of us to this day Alana's remains never
made it into her parents' hands instead they remain stored somewhere in the crematoriums vaults what terrifies me most is the thought that any one of us could end up in a similar situation disappearing Without a Trace our Fates hidden behind closed doors no one would know and no one would question it in this line of work where death is the business such a horrifying thought feels disturbingly [Music] possible my name is Ruben Carver and I've been working as an imala for 25 years what I'm about to share completely shattered everything I thought I knew about
science on June 8th 2006 at the funeral home where I worked a nearby hospital transferred to us the body of a woman in terrible condition with features more unusual than anything we were used to seeing the forensic report stated that the woman had died after suffering severe burns on a hill the only person who accompanied her was a man with a serious expression after saying his final goodbye at the preparation table he insisted repeatedly that we perform the procedures as quickly as possible my colleagues and I assumed he was in a hurry to bury her
or something similar as he was leaving I overheard him say make sure she's really dead the first thing that unsettled us was the woman's file which listed her as 90 years old however the parts of her skin that weren't burned looked more like those of a woman no older than 40 additionally although her body had been in storage for nearly 48 Hours the state of decomposition resembled that of a corpse dead for Just 2 hours before we could even begin the drainage and content extraction process we had to pause and review her file again aware
of the delay the man waiting for her body grew impatient and approached us once more urging us to hurry after double-checking everything and confirming the inconsistencies we moved the body to the embalming room to officially begin the internal cleaning process when we connected the tubes to drain the body we were met with an unsettling surprise the body wouldn't release any blood instead a grayish watery liquid resembling stagnant dirty water came out this feels like a joke commented my assistant as baffled as I was despite our confusion we decided to press forward to avoid further delays
but it was clear that this was unlike anything we had ever encountered to lighten the mood and alleviate some of the stress my assistant and I began joking around theorizing that Mrs Molina could be anything but human our banter spiraled into absurd stories about what might have caused her death and what Secrets her body might hold however when it was clear we couldn't do much in terms of preservation we moved on to the aesthetic work this involved using makeup and wax to reconstruct the most damaged areas of her body the worst damage was on her
abdomen chest and parts of of her neck and face while working on the lower abdomen my assistant suddenly asked don't you think it's suspicious that this woman burned to death on a hill before I could respond he continued speculating that we might be dealing with the body of a witch his comments while me's humor started to cross a line they felt increasingly disrespectful toward the person we were working on so I asked him to stop we're supposed to be professionals I reminded him not a pair of Fanatics caught in some Witch Hunt we resumed our
work in silence reconstructing the most damaged parts of her face once the Reconstruction was complete I began searching through the Mory makeup collection for Shades that matched her skin tone by that point one thing was certain Mrs Molina was undeniably dead just as the man who brought her in had insisted as I selected the Cosmetics my thoughts were interrupted by screams of panic coming from the reception area there were loud shouts and aggressive threats followed by someone reciting the Lord's Prayer in a raised voice moments later the prayer was abruptly cut short by the sound
of a gunshot my assistant and I immediately prepared to leave through the emergency the exit but before we could get far two men burst into the embalming room with Firearms drawn they ordered us to step away from Mrs Molina's body and move back several steps cornered we had no choice but to comply one of the men grabbed a canula we had left nearby along with a glass vial filled with what appeared to be blood without hesitation the two men began injecting the substance into the corpse one of them turned to us and said with a
serious expression you have nothing to fear we're only here to protect what's ours the other man who was administering the injection explained that the person who had brought her to the hospital and arranged for the procedures was the one responsible for her condition he had burned her on the hill and followed her to the hospital to ensure she was truly dead without uttering a word I realized that the wild Theory my assistant had joked about earlier was frighteningly close to the truth Mrs Molina was indeed a witch this Revelation made sense of all the bizarre
inconsistencies surrounding her body as the men worked I heard the murmur to each other we need to get Mom out of here before they catch us they were her children sons of a witch although I tried to remain silent and not provoke them I eventually spoke up saying there's no point in taking her at this stage she's just a shell filled with chemicals her preservation won't last long as soon as I said this the body of Mrs Molina began to move her hands twitched not in the involuntary spasms of a corpse but with coordinated deliberate
movements it was clear that something unnatural was happening before we could process what we were witnessing the two men lifted her body and rushed out brandishing their weapons to keep anyone from intervening I stood Frozen for a moment unable to comprehend what I had just witnessed Gathering my courage I followed them a few steps out of the room just in time to hear the woman let out a pained groan somehow Mrs Molina was coming back to life the men quickly loaded her into a truck and sped away leaving behind a chaotic scene that now resembled
a crime scene more than a funeral home the entire ordeal left my assistant and me in shock as we tried to make sense of what had happened my assistant offered a grim Theory whatever they injected into her must have been some secret substance I've heard rumors about about things derived from children's blood things used in ult practices as disturbing as his explanation was I couldn't entirely dismiss it the more I thought about it the more it seemed like the only plausible explanation there are people out there who engage in practices so Sinister and unnatural that
they escape any logical understanding the events of that day convinced me that Mrs Molina was Far More Than Just a human being she was something Beyond explanation since that day I've been haunted by the memory of her lifeless body moving and the chilling groan she let out as she was carried away it serves as a grim reminder that there are forces at work in the world that defy science logic and reason Mrs Molina wasn't just a simple corpse she was a doorway into something much darker a reality most of us will never fully [Music] understand
why have you done this to Mrs Jenkins body don't you have any respect for the dead I screamed in shock as I opened the door our Funeral Home was supposed to maintain a reputation for Prestige with our crematoriums recognized as some of the most professional but now all of that good reputation had been tarnished the body of Mrs Sarah Jenkins was positioned in front of Clara's laptop camera they were filming her grayish corpse manipulating it as if it were a lifeless doll never in my life had I felt so regretful about my own actions unknowingly
I had become the Catalyst that sparked a business with good intentions only for it to degrade into a chain of Secrets and unforgivable disrespect the Vicious Cycle began with the arrival of the 2020 pandemic it lashed Humanity with a whip of death and disease for what was supposed to be the start of a new decade it felt more like the end of time for those of us who work daily in the funeral industry we were given a specific set of orders to ensure safety in health protocols 2020 made me realize that despite feeling accustomed to
death I was completely unprepared to handle it in such overwhelming volumes the disease was claiming hundreds of lives by the hour filling hospitals morgs and crematoriums to their maximum capacity it was was suffocating to remain on this side of things it felt like fighting in a merciless War where the enemy remained invisible one of the main orders for handling the deceased was to prevent close family members from coming into contact with their loved ones even for a final farewell as soon as we received a body it was either cremated immediately or the casket was sealed
and buried as quickly as possible this period heightened my sensitivity toward the people we served so many grieving faces would come to us and at times it would cause a lump in my throat explaining to devastated families why they couldn't approach their loved ones was an emotionally draining task it felt like playing the villain bearing the brunt of collective anger just to keep my job and prevent sanitary conditions from spiraling further out of control as expected conspiracy theories began circulating many of these speculations were wildly disconnected from reality I vividly remember the evening when this
Twisted path began a high school friend arrived at the crematorium following the death of his father due to the virus with a Restless expression he confided in me a rumor he had heard one claiming that due to the overwhelming number of deaths crematoriums were allegedly mixing ashes and delivering NS containing remains of multiple people at first I dismissed the notion as absurd while the global sanitary situation was far from ideal we prided ourselves on maintaining professionalism still no matter how much I tried to explain the impossibility of such claims my friend remained uncomfortable and unconvinced
before we began The Cremation process he asked me for a personal favor due to our friendship intrigued I inquired about the favor and with discretion he asked if I could take a couple of pictures of his father's body before cremation however this was a violation of more than one of our rules and I refused outright yet as he broke down in tears pleading with me my empathy overpowered my professionalism without consulting anyone I headed to the area where his father's body was ensuring none of my colleagues were watching I took around six photos from various
angles intending to prove to my friend that everything was under control and being handled respectfully later I handed him the pictures clarifying that what we had done was against the rules amid his tearful gratitude he insisted on handing me a $50 bill initially I refused to accept it but his persistence left me with no choice but to take the money unintentionally I had sparked a form of business Clara one of my colleagues with a conceited and arrogant demeanor noticed what I had done shortly after she approached me with her usual passive aggressive tone treating it
as if it were a groundbreaking business idea she suggested we start taking photos of the deceased more regularly no matter how much I explained that it was a one-time situation claraa laughed in my face she declared that she wouldn't waste such an opportunity for growth even though the idea hadn't even originated from her by the following afternoon Clara had already found a way to offer new clients the chance to see their loved ones through photos or videos for an additional $50 when I overheard this I was horrified overnight my colleague had shamelessly exploited the idea
the first person to agree to this new service was a father mourning his 23-year-old daughter who had succumbed to the virus and a Relentless pneumonia that had destroyed her lungs distrusting Clara's intentions I decided to supervise her as she worked with the young woman's body in uring everything remained within professional boundaries Clara took the photos and as she did she audaciously joked about how photogenic the young woman still was even in death I despised Clara's irreverence and her opportunistic abusive nature I felt immensely guilty for having indirectly fueled her inappropriate ideas before handing over the
photos to The Grieving father Clara made a snid remark about envying the financial status of all our clients suggesting that if they were from lower income backgrounds they wouldn't even consider paying for something as trivial as photos of deceased relatives determined to put an end to this issue before it grew I threatened to file a complaint against claraa however being the manipulative sociopath she was she Twisted the situation against me she blamed me for starting the business pointing out that I had taken the first photos even though I knew it was against our rules claraa
then changed her approach making a case for the supposed Comfort we were offering grieving families through these photos and videos she accused me of being selfish for wanting to stop families from having a final connection with their deceased loved ones overwhelmed by guilt and pressured by her emotional manipulation I reluctantly gave in to her demands we came to an agreement the photo and video requests would continue but remain secret from our supervisors and only if explicitly requested by clients over the next few weeks the word about the photos spread quickly the number of families requesting
this service grew so much that Clara and I couldn't handle it alone we discreetly approached a few trusted co-workers to ask if they wanted to join in surprisingly at least five of them immediately agreed to be part of this secret operation within a month we were taking an average of 80 to 120 photos daily of various deceased individuals at that point I was convinced our supervisors either had no idea what was happening or were choosing to ignore it one aspect that deeply unsettled me was Clara's habit of taking credit for the entire idea whenever a
coworker asked how this business began she pointed at me emphasizing that I was The Mastermind this Behavior caused a rift among my colleagues some seemed to admire me for this While others resented me without clear justification it felt like no one had a neutral opinion about me anymore and I couldn't understand why 3 months after I took those first photos for my friend I arrived at the crematorium to an eerie hostile atmosphere it was as if an invisible threat was watching me though I didn't believe in the Paranormal I attributed the feeling to stress that
afternoon however my nerves only worsened voices began echoing around me over 20 voices loud and nearby though they had no VIs visible Source I entered every room checking each coffin but I found no one why are you doing this to me a voice cried from the restroom confused I entered only to find it empty the voice repeated louder this time why have you done this to me suddenly I felt arms gripping me tightly from behind as if someone wanted to crush my bones panicked I ran out desperate to escape the horrifying sensation the next afternoon
after experiencing the voices and the Eerie presence I noticed a peculiar change in Clara's Behavior if I happened to be near a deceased individual scheduled for photographs she would immediately find an excuse to send me elsewhere ensuring I didn't stay in the room additionally my other co-workers began exhibiting suspicious patterns shutting doors when I approached and Whispering among themselves whenever I passed by as if that wasn't unsettling enough I saw claraa meeting with a strange disheveled man in the reception area they exchanged a pair of envelopes and I assumed she had sold him some photographs
Furious I confronted her but claraa brushed me off claiming it was a legitimate request for custom photos of course I didn't believe her but I couldn't think of any immediate way to prove otherwise later as I walked through the hall leading to the creatory chambers I accidentally bumped into an older man dressed in a brown suit and bowler hat what are you doing here this area is for staff only I told him the gray-haired man stared at me with piercing intensity as if he knew me his voice raspy and deliberate warned me to be cautious
of my co-worker actions he cryptically added the dead have their own ways of showing disrespect it's best not to provoke them with that the man walked away leaving through the main entrance that evening before heading home his words lingered in my mind as I passed by the restroom again I heard the same haunting Lamentations as before the chilling sensation of someone standing behind me returned but this time the invisible force was much stronger it grabbed my shoulders with a vice likee grip I turned to the mirror and saw no one behind me yet I could
feel their presence whatever it was had an undeniable rage against me in a terrifying instant the invisible entity yanked my hair and slammed my face into the mirror the impact knocked me to the floor leaving my forehead injured luckily a coworker walked in at that moment and rushed me to the hospital though I stayed conscious the doctors said the blow was severe enough to require stitches and bandages I was granted a week of medical leave but no one believed my account of the incident they assumed I had suffered a delusion and injured myself during my
forced recovery I noticed Clara spending an unusual amount of time online particularly on social media even during her work hours while this wasn't suspicious in itself her behavior felt out of place one evening overcome with curiosity I sent her a Facebook message asking if she was actually working Clara saw the message but never responded the following Monday marked my return to work the demand for Cremation Services was still overwhelming over the weekend while running errands I unexpectedly crossed paths with the same gray-haired man in the brown suit intrigued I stopped him and asked his name
he introduced himself as Alton before I could continue to my destination Alton repeated the same warnings he told me that the dead had far more ways to take revenge than the living ever could why are you telling me this have I done something wrong I asked Alton gave a cryptic reply keep an eye on Clara soon she'll be with the love of her life make sure no one photographs or films her confused I let him go and continued on my way unable to make sense of his cryptic message that Sunday I met my girlfriend's parents
for the first time along with her grandmother and her pets it was a warm family gathering but something unexpected left me shaken while flipping through a photo album with my girlfriend I saw a picture of the gray-haired man Alton certain it was him I asked my girlfriend about the photo she calmly explained that the man in the picture was her late grandfather Alton who had passed away 5 years earlier the Revelation left me in shock both of my encounters with him had felt entirely real yet now I realized I had been speaking with a deceased
man that evening overwhelmed by the Revelation I returned home earlier than expected the next morning my girlfriend called me devastated to inform me that her grandmother had just passed away from a sudden heart attack she said her family was already at the crematorium making arrangements as soon as the call ended I rushed to my car and sped toward the crematorium on on the way Alton's warnings echoed in my mind replaying like a broken record I couldn't shake the urgency of his message when I arrived I didn't stop to console my grieving girlfriend I knew I
had to find Clara and stop her from taking a single photograph of Mrs jenkins's body bursting into the room where the body was being prepared I froze in horror my stomach churned with nausea at the sight before me why have you done this to Mrs Jenkins body don't you have any respect for the dead I shouted there she was Clara standing in front of her laptop mid Zoom call with a screen full of strangers watching Mrs jenkin's lifeless body was on full display being manipulated like a prop you're sick Clara I yelled unable to contain
my rage in a panic I grabbed every device on the table laptop phone camera and fled to my car my girlfriend watched from outside confused and unable to understand what was happening ignoring her I sped away heading straight for the police station before stepping out of the car I hesitated I needed to gather proof from the devices Clara had been using opening her files I uncovered something far more grotesque than I could have imagined the devices were filled with explicit content involving deceased bodies used as the main attraction in a series of private Facebook and
WhatsApp groups dozens of sick individuals were paying Clara for this material it was the most abhorrent thing I had ever witnessed in my life I couldn't fathom how my initial act of kindness for a friend had spiraled into this network of illegal and repulsive activities with all the evidence I had I went to the authorities within an hour officers raided the crematorium arresting Clara and several others involved what I thought would be the end of The Nightmare turned out to be the beginning of a bizarre legal War Clara refusing to take responsibility pointed the finger
at me labeling me The Mastermind behind the operation her accusations left me in the center of lawsuits legal troubles and unemployment still I knew it was necessary to fight for justice even if it was on behalf of the Dead the Scandal ended with many of my co-workers behind bars but within a month of their incarceration strange reports began to emerge they claimed to hear voices and feel watched almost constantly one by one they descended into madness a month later news broke that all of them had died in their cells however their deaths were unexplainable the
authorities found their bodies in impossible positions positions that couldn't have been achieved postmortem without external Force some were found sitting upright with broken arms claraa specifically was found kneeling Frozen in an unnatural pot Ure it was then that I remembered Alton's warning the dead are far more dangerous when it comes to Revenge what I learned from this entire ordeal is that the dead demand far more trust and respect than we the living are often willing to give [Music] my grandfather died on a December night under strange circumstances there were always Whispers In The Family about
a pack he had made in his youth they said he had sold his soul to gain something he never shared with anyone my grandparents lived in the countryside and as far as I can remember my grandfather owned a small house on the outskirts of town on a remote piece of land often shrouded in Mist his life was a mystery and on the night of his wake many of those Secrets began to surface at the time I was just a 19-year-old but the memories of that night have haunted me ever since I arrived at the Wake
shortly after the sun disappeared over the horizon leaving the sky blood red before Fading Into black the house was packed with towns folk all dressed in black and murmuring prayers softly the air was Heavy charged with an oppressive atmosphere as though something unseen weighed down on us the threshold greeted me with melted candles and wilted flowers but there was something else in the air a faint unsettling stench hidden beneath the incense and floral fragrance it smelled faintly of sulfur and decay I didn't think much of it at the time assuming someone had lit a poor
quality candle or that the smell came from the flowers themselves yet in the somber atmosphere of death the odor seemed to intensify my grandfather's body lay in a coffin in the center of the room surrounded by flickering candles that seemed to waver nervously as though they too felt the weight of something sinister I stared at his face for a few minutes but something in his expression made me look away his eyes were closed and his grayish lifeless skin was stretched in a strange mocking smirk it was as if even in death he knew something we
didn't something he wasn't entirely willing to take with him as the hours passed the air in the room grew heavier with every passing minute a cold wind began to seep through the cracks of the house chilling as to the Bone the candles which had initially illuminated the room with a faint glow flickered more intensely as if they were about to go out at one point someone mentioned feeling an inexplicable cold that penetrated their very bones my aunts and mother crossed themselves multiple times Whispering prayers but nothing seemed to lift the oppressive atmosphere close to midnight
the smell of sulfur became unbearable it was as if something rotten and sulfuric had permeated the room smothering every other scent I looked around for the source but everyone else seemed just as confused and Disturbed my cousins and I attempted to open the windows but some invisible force kept them sealed shut as though a giant hand was pressing against them from the outside we exchanged silent glances unable to voice voice the growing Terror taking hold of us then all at once the candles went out plunging the room into darkness in an instant the Shadows consumed
everything and someone let out a muffled scream nervous murmur erupted into a chaotic hum of voices as people stumbled over each other trying to find a flashlight a match or anything to restore light to the room but amidst the confusion I heard something something that froze me in place it was a whisper barely audible coming from the darkest corner of the room the voice was low raspy and carried a tone that felt anything but human I couldn't make out the words but the Cadence was mocking almost as if someone or something was laughing quietly from
the Shadows others heard it too I could see the terror on their faces as they glanced around trying to locate the source one of my cousins managed to light a candle his hands trembling so much that the flame flickered wildly when the small light finally steadied it illuminated his pale corpse-like face the dim glow also revealed something in the corner of the room near the coffin a hunched figure barely discernable in the darkness its outline was not entirely solid it seemed to Flicker and waver like a shadow darker than the surrounding Gloom it wasn't human
it couldn't be its sunken eyes and the malevolence in its gaze made my skin crawl the figure stared directly at me as though it knew me as though it had been waiting for me a gust of icy wind swept through the room and just like that the figure dissipated Vanishing like smoke Blown Away by the breeze but the stench remained stronger than ever mixed with a rancid ancient perfume that reminded me of rot and Decay I felt sick to my stomach and as I looked around I saw that others were just as affected no one
said a word it was as if we all silently agreed that whatever had just happened should never be spoken of yet the terror wasn't over the silence was broken by strange noises coming from above us like something heavy dragging itself across the beams of the roof The Sounds were slow and deliberate accompanied by faint Creeks that sent shivers down our spines desperate my mother began reciting a prayer aloud though her trembling voice barely carried the words others followed suit Whispering prayers under their breath but the presence above us seemed to grow heavier as though feeding
on our fear finally someone screamed shattering the tense silence it was at that moment that the coffin began to move at first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but the movement was unmistakable it swayed slowly almost imperceptibly as if something inside was pushing against it I wanted to scream but Terror had stolen my voice the flickering Candlelight cast warped Shadows on the walls and in that moment I saw something that froze my soul my grandfather's face once still and Serene was now contorted in pain his tightly shut eyes and twisted lips reflected
an expression of Agony as though something from Beyond was tormenting him a loud cracking noise echoed through the room and the coffin stopped moving that's when the hunched figure reappeared this time near the doorway its face was a grotesque mix of Shadows and faint indistinct features but its sunken black eyes held a malice that was palpable it was then that I understood the figure wasn't there for us it was there for my grandfather he had fulfilled his part of The Pact and now the figure had come to collect its due slowly it glided toward the
coffin exuding an aura of dread that paralyzed everyone one in the room no one dared move or even breathe with excruciating slowness the figure extended a skeletal hand covered in what looked like burnt leathery skin the hand barely touched my grandfather's body but that was enough the moment the figure made contact my grandfather's body began to wrie as if in unbearable pain it was as though every ounce of suffering he had endured in life was consuming him all over again the other attendees stood Frozen incapable of looking away I watched as the figure leaned closer
to him Whispering something into his ear something only he could hear as the first rays of sunlight crept through the cracks in the windows the figure vanished dissolving like smoke into the morning air my grandfather's body fell still once more but something had changed his expression once peaceful was now Frozen in sheer Terror his hands which had been crossed over his chest were now clawing at the air as though he had tried to grasp onto something or resist an invisible force we left the house in silence none of us daring to look back every face
bore the same horrified expression each of us grappling with the Unspeakable Terror we had just witnessed no one mentioned what had happened that night not during the burial the next day nor in the years that followed my mother refused to discuss it and my cousins never brought it up again it took me years to talk about that night without feeling the same dread I had felt in that room even now I can still recall the stench of sulfur and Decay the oppressive sense of something dark and hungry watching from the shadows and every time I
think of my grandfather I can't help but imagine him trapped in some dark cold place paying the price for the pack he never shared with us that was the Legacy he left behind silence fear and the memory of a night when he or something far worse was present reclaiming what it was owed [Music] in 2014 when I was just 15 years old a crematorium opened in one of the most neglected areas of the small town where I lived despite how strange this seemed to many of us we saw it as a positive addition services like
these were much needed in a town as abandoned as ours the first clients who used the crematorium Services claimed that the care provided was of high quality and the costs were surprisingly affordable just 2 months after the crematorium opened the owners offered me a job as part of the cleaning staff being young in need of money and inexperienced in almost everything I accepted from my first day sweeping and scrubbing The Cremation rooms and wake areas I met the r sisters roxan and Lisa who were responsible for handling the crti they were 26 and 27 years
old at the time though their knowledge of the deceased reflected the experience of someone far older the r crematorium was a family run business and employees outside the family like myself were few at first I thought cleaning such a place would be a nightmare that would haunt me every night surprisingly it was the opposite within my first week I had grown accustomed to seeing it as just another workspace the hardest part was probably dealing with the cries and grief of the people who came and went one weekend during some free time I told a neighbor
about my new job working with the Ramos sisters as soon as I mentioned them he laughed as though I had just told him a joke after his inexplicable laughter he explained that the sisters had been his classmates in high school 10 years earlier with the same amused tone he told me that he and a group of friends used to mock them for an unusual condition they suffered around the ages of 16 and 17 both sisters had developed premature boldness forcing them to wear wigs constantly lacking empathy they were humiliated and ridiculed for over 2 years
simply because someone found their appearance amusing returning to work I couldn't help but pay closer attention to the sisters and I confirmed what my neighbor had told me was true their hair wasn't real they wore wigs despite this Revelation my work routine didn't change until 1 afternoon when I failed to leave the crematorium at my usual time exhausted I decided to lie down on one of the couches on the second floor where some wakes were held I fell asleep without realizing it and woke up in the middle of the night still on the couch with
the room now completely dark since the crematorium didn't typically provide services late at night the Ramos family often closed the facility by midnight as I descended the stairs to leave I whispered a silent prayer hoping the doors were still unlocked so I wouldn't have to spend the rest of the night in that cold desolate place when I reached the ground floor I was met with a chilling surprise the doors were already locked before I could search the reception area for keys I heard a woman's horrifying screams coming from one of the cremation rooms her cries
for forgiveness pierced through the silence please forgive me I'm sorry she screamed the sound wasn't like a ghostly lament it was as if someone was being tortured Frozen with fear I wanted to run but there was no way out overwhelmed by anxiety and the need to know what was happening I cautiously approached the room creeping quietly toward the door to peek inside my heart raced and my head throbbed with sudden pain as I hesitated just outside the door I questioned myself what would be more terrifying to find a person being brutalized or an empty room
with no explanation for the screams summoning enough courage I cracked the door open just enough to see inside what I witnessed chilled me to the core the woman who had been screaming for help was tied up her hands and feet bound Roxanne and Lisa were torturing her with sharp objects the brutality of their actions was beyond anything I could have imagined sickening and Indescribable to make matters worse their father stood in the corner of the room watching the horrific scene with a smile of approval no matter how much I wanted to run before they noticed
me morbid curiosity froze me in place compelling me to watch The Nightmare unfold the sisters hurled a series of accusations at the victim all related to the humiliation they had endured years ago then in a fit of Cruelty they yanked at her hair ripping out chunks as they mocked her with a twisted sense of Revenge they roughly shaved her head the scene escalated further as they lifted her and forced her into the cremation oven the woman's blood curdling screams echoed through the room as the Flames consumed her alive witnessing what this family was capable of
left me utterly horrified I closed the door as quietly as I could and ran stumbling over my own feet in panic back to the room where I had fallen asleep earlier this time instead of trying to sleep I hid trembling until sunrise when when daylight came I gathered enough composure to start cleaning as if nothing had happened while sweeping the floor roxan approached me and asked when did you get here though I claimed I hadn't been there long I couldn't hide the nervous Tremor in my voice or meet her gaze I was now the only
witness to the atrocities that took place in the crematorium at night their father had devised a perfect system for erasing any evidence of their crime with their expertise in operating The Cremation ovens they ensured that the remains of their victims vanished without a trace the ashes were scattered in the wind when no one was watching leaving nothing behind the sisters seemed to Revel in their Twisted Vengeance smiling as they disposed of their victims and silenced their frustrations in the days and nights that followed working alongside them became unbearable every moment around them was filled with
Dread and their presence haunted me even in my dreams night after night I saw Vivid Nightmares of the tortured woman in one particularly disturbing dream I found myself back at the crematorium surrounded by a group of ghostly figures They begged me to expose what I knew warning that if I stayed silent the sisters would continue killing anyone they had held a grudge against in time they wouldn't even need reasons they would kill simply for pleasure waking from that nightmare I resolved to report what I had seen to the authorities but before I could act the
sisters confronted me they cornered me and dragged me to the same room where they had carried out their murders we know what you're planning Lisa said her voice cold and menacing if you go through with it your mother and you will be the next ones reduced to ashes she added an eye for an eye Manuel this isn't your problem to solve before they let me go they issued one final warning I had one month to leave the town with my mother willingly or they would handle the situation by force terrified and shaken I returned home
and told my mother everything she agreed there was no other choice we had to leave it was likely that the Ramos family had connections within local law enforcement which gave them the confidence to threaten and eliminate anyone who got in their way from that moment on we didn't dare go near the crematorium or the Ramos family my mother and I packed up our lives and left the town without looking back I often wonder how many others have fallen victim to their horrific acts their bodies reduced to ashes and Scattered into nothingness what happened in that
small desolate Town might seem like an isolated nightmare but I've come to realize that such atrocities aren't unique to that place the act of Disappearing people reducing them to Ash and scattering their remains happens more often than we imagine it happens daily and often in the places we would least expect the Ramos family and their crematorium were just one horrifying example of how evil can hide in plain sight disguised as a place of service and care to this day I live with the memories of what I witnessed haunted by the faces of those they silenced
forever though I escaped with my life I'll never forget the screams the Twisted satisfaction on their faces and the chilling realization that monsters like them walk among us hidden in the most ordinary of places
