today I want to plainly explain the Christian beliefs on homosexuality according to the Bible at the same time answering the most common yet challenging questions about the homosexuality debate the most common of these being is being gay a sin let me start with an example each individual is born with unique desires things a person is naturally more attracted to than others some people may be drawn to Apples over bananas pears or oranges however others may have different preferences these desires exist across many fields including sexuality some men may be naturally attracted to women some may
be naturally attracted to other men others to children still others to animals these are all possible sexual desires a man can have that feel natural to him now let me Define these two terms from the question sin is an act of rebellion against God's law established in the Bible that leads to death homosexuality is a desire which involves men abandoning natural relations with women to commit sexual acts with other men it is a perverse sexual act nothing more and nothing less having homosexual desires from a young age is what the secular world would call being
born gay however this is not how Christians believe it works having a desire for homosexuality doesn't make you a homosexual in the same way as other Temptations the question is whether the person acts on the desire or not because of our society's acceptance of homosexuality it's become a lot easier for people to act on sinful desires like this one so the question is what is the outcome for those who do act on their homosexual desires the Bible says that those who practice homosexuality along with stealing getting drunk slandering swindling and many other rebellious acts against
God will not inherit his kingdom meaning heaven so you may be thinking if gay people aren't allowed into God's kingdom he mustn't like them very much then because of a miscommunication of the Christian principle on this topic many non-believers have come to the understanding that God hates gay people and wants them to burn in hell but this couldn't be further from the truth the truth is that all people are deserving of hell but God has made a way to restore our relationship with him through his son Jesus Christ the Bible says that God's desire is
for all people to turn away from their sins and follow him God doesn't want to see a single sinner suffer in hell in fact right now God is patiently holding the door open for anyone who wants to repent and come to him gay people included so then what do Christians think of gay people unfortunately many Christians have disrespected different types of people over the years which has led non-believers to think that Christians are intolerant and hate people living in homosexuality however this is not how the Bible tells Christians to act I must clarify that Christians
are not told to cease judging others Jesus himself said judge only to the measure you are willing to be judged it's important for Christians to judge and discern between right and wrong however Christians are called to be wise with their words when talking with unbelievers and be gracious in their discussion to represent Christ this includes people who practice homosexuality some may ask why do Christians even care about the gay marriage debate if it doesn't affect them although it may not directly affect the Christian the Bible shows us how much it affects God because he loves
us so much he can't stand to see us disobey his commands and slowly ruin our own lives that's why Christians care because Christians are concerned about how God feels and are interested in upholding truth righteousness and justice for his sake Christians also care about unbelievers who bear the image of God making them inherently valuable beyond measure like God they want to see unbelievers come to a realization of their sin and give it over to God for forgiveness and freedom Christians who are watching this your challenge is to stand firm on the strong Foundation of scripture
and uphold the truth of God with wisdom and Grace as it is God's desire for all to repent and flourish so it should be yours if you found this video helpful or you enjoyed it at all please leave a like And subscribe there will be many more coming if there's any questionable or tough topics that you're having trouble talking to your non-Christian friends about please leave a comment and I will try to address them in the future
