what's going on everybody Aaron here welcome to the video Merry Christmas so what happens to bitcoin and ethereum and altcoins historically between Christmas and the beginning of January and into January so I'm going to talk about that and what to expect or at least historically what to expect moving into the next year so Bitcoin was $223,000 December 25th 2020 so four years ago then January 8th Bitcoin was $40,000 so almost doubled in price from 4 years ago is Christmas to the first week of January and what did ethereum do well around the same time frame
ethereum went from $638 to $1,200 so a 2X in a matter of 2 weeks or so and then ethereum went to do even crazier things four years ago December 26th 20120 to February 19th 2021 ethereum went from 640 to almost 2 so that's looking at like a 3X in a matter of like 2 to 3 months or so and this is where we saw others dominance go kind of nuts so others dominance is the dominance of all the altcoins minus those in the top 10 so very applicable to altcoins or small alt coins from Christmas
2020 to May of 2021 others dominance went from 6% of the total market cap to 16% which is a massive massive rally but here's what happened 4 years ago which we're kind of see seeing right now from Christmas 4 years ago to January 3rd so basically just a week we saw others dominance go down quite a lot from 6.5% to 5.5% which equals a 15% drop so this is why the volatility we're seeing right now with Bitcoin and altcoins does not concern me at all right now Bitcoin is seeing if it can blast through this
$100,000 psychological Mark again it keeps hitting this resistance point so we'll see what happens if coin can't break through once and for all this $100,000 Mark we may see a retest down to $992,000 again and even lower so all this volatility is totally totally normal especially with altcoins but just to remind you guys Bitcoin is doing exactly what it did over the last three having years so right here is the orange line for Bitcoin and the blue line is the average of 2012 2016 and 2020 so we have been tracking the last 3 years and
here's a closeup so Bitcoin did around a 2 .2x or so this year and averaging the last three having years Bitcoin did around a 3X which is very very close and this is the Bitcoin price on every single Christmas going all the way back to 2010 where it was just 25 cents this year it was $98,400 what will it be next year no one knows but leave your prediction below if you'd like so that is it ladies and gents for the short video I hope you had a nice Christmas if you celebrate Christmas if not
