She searches for a way to rehabilitate demons and send them to heaven to do so she opens a hotel to serve as a rehabilitation center where demons can learn to become better people the adult animation comes with moving musical sequences compelling characters and crude humor fans of the pilot have waited for years to watch the series on Amazon Prime and now that the series has aired we're recapping episodes 1 through 8 what Carmela Carmine she killed an exorcist in the last extermination she knows how they can be harmed the first episode of the Season Overture
takes place a week after the pilot the opening sequence follows a narrative given by Charlie as she explains the history of her parents and the formation of Hell according to her Lucifer was once an angel with many ideas for Humanity but became cast out of heaven after falling in love with Adam's first bride Lilith and the pair convinced Eve to consume an apple Eve's Disobedience destroyed the order that Angels were trying to instill in the world and led to the formation of Hell while Lucifer gave up on his ideals once he fell from heaven Lilith
Rose to rule over her demonic citizens allowing their society to grow to prevent the forces of Hell from rising and overthrowing Heaven the Angels send down an army every year to exterminate the population forcefully lowering their numbers the season begins directly after this yearly extermination and the world outside Charlie's window is full of smoke and Carnage her partner vaggie approaches her because she overheard Charlie reading from a story book Charlie admits that the extermination troubles her and the pair share a heart-to-heart about the state of the hotel they then meet with the powerful radio demon
Alistair who has a surprise for them although Alistair offered to help them run the hotel the commercial he made to advertise their services is lackluster and has little enthusiasm about rehabilitating demonkind vaggie calls him out by saying they wouldn't want his commercial to represent them while their lone resident a promiscuous demon named angel dust offers his Indiscreet services to bring crowds into the hotel as the group argues Charlie steps away to answer a phone call from her father Lucifer she then excitedly informs vaggie that the leader of the Angel's Army wants to meet with Lucifer
but he's sending her in his place while the meeting could be the big break Charlie was looking for vaggie worries about what the Angels could want so soon after an extermination Charlie's excitement results in the first musical number for the season as she laments about how she can succeed however as she sings through the streets the reality of Hell citizens and the recent extermination unfold around her Charlie meets with a character named Adam and her hope hes become dashed when he starts pranking her interrupting her in the middle of speaking and being a genuinely rude
host meanwhile vaggie rallies the others so they can shoot another commercial in trying to break through to Adam Charlie begins another song explaining the hasb been Hotel he interrupts her with his own lyrics explaining that her plan will never work because the system is black and white meaning heaven will never give Sinners a second chance Charlie's demonic form shows because of her rage and then Adam reveals that the subsequent extermination will occur earlier Within months before the episode ends Adam explains that the next time his exorcists arrive in hell they won't leave any demon standing
because one of them murdered an angel during the recent extermination Lucifer found her and the two rebellious dreamers fell deeply in love the second episode radio killed the video star begins with Charlie and vaggie finding a solution for the execution in 6 months instead of a year they realize that with every demon in Hell desperate to survive the extermination it is the perfect time to recruit residents for the hotel unfortunately they're interrupted when sir penus attempts to attack Alistair hopeful that defeating him will make him accepted by the v's these three demon overlords Vox velvet
and Valentino run a tech company together each with individual projects and skill sets to appease the masses about the upcoming Extinction Vox announces that he'll be developing a form of angelic security before brainwashing reporters into compliance Valentino is more concerned about his star Angel Dust moving in with Charlie and he wants to get him back but when he mentions that Alistair is also working with hell's princess Vox becomes enraged Vox has it out for Alistair because he refused an offer to work together so once he learns that Alistair returned to Hell after a 7-year absence
he starts bashing him on television leading alist to respond on his radio show the pair fight for the control of an audience until Alistair causes a city-wide power outage while threatening Vox the v's decide they should prevent Charlie from making a deal with Alistair and plant Ser penus as a mole at the hotel however angel dust isn't keen on their new guest and retires to his room where numerous voicemails from Valentino reveal they have an abusive working relationship Angel later catches sir penus placing cameras in the hotel outing him as a mole on his first
day instead of throwing him out Charlie gives him a second chance you heard right Welcome to our home of healing our Resort of restoration the third episode scrambled eggs shows the group adjusting to Ser penis's first week at the hotel they prevent him from building weapons plotting against the others and having henchmen as part of his Redemption Charlie decides that they should do trust building exercises and places vaggi in charge in the meantime Alistair takes penis's egg minions with him to a meeting with the other demonic overlords where he reconnects with an ancient demon called
zeso who everyone on the street runs from in Terror the demoness overlord Carmela called the meeting she's concerned with handling the upcoming extermination she claims they lost 16% of the population during the last one vet arrives late on behalf of the v's showing the others the head of the murdered Angel mentioned by Adam in the first episode she wants to make them go to war with heaven but Carmela and the others resist velvet questions their Rule and Carmela calls an end to the meeting but not before Alistair sends an egg minion to spy on her
back with the hotel's residents vaggie makes everyone learn to trust by fighting and surviving together she and Charlie have a heart tohe heart about how vaggie doesn't want to fail her which later leads to vaggie singing a duet with Carmela about how Much Charlie means to her while vowing to protect her returning to Carmela she admits to zeso that she killed the angel although she didn't have a choice because it was threatening her daughters she's worried that telling everyone about the angel will incite a war where she could lose her daughters anyway but thanks to
the egg minion spying Alistar learns the truth he returns to the hotel without saying a word where he finds everyone bonding with penus I took charge today and it all went sideways I'm supposed to make your dreams a reality I'm supposed to protect you the fourth episode masquerade begins with Charlie's daily exercise which happens to be showand tell the activity leads to husk calling everyone out on their faults and insecurities something he learned by serving as the hotel's bartender Angel gets called Away by Valentino to work and Charlie decides to use her Authority as a
princess of Hell to get him time off however when she arrives at the film set Angel begs Charlie to leave because of his extreme fear of Valentino Charlie remains and accidentally destroys the film set enraging Valentino enough to seclude Angel in his dressing room violent attacking him while reminding him of the contract they signed Angel sold his soul to Valentino trapping himself in servitude Angel begs Valentino not to hurt Charlie and has to confront her angrily to make her leave which leads to a long night of Angel being used and abused by those around him
he sings a song about how he can't escape his circumstances even though it feels like it'll kill him again husk confronts Angel when he returns to the hotel leading to the actor storming out in a rage vaggie sends hus to watch over Angel and keep him from harm at a bar husk notices Angel's drink about to get spiked and saves him leading to another confrontation Angel finally starts to cry stating that he has no choice but to act believing if he breaks himself enough Valentino won't want to use him anymore to sympathize with Angel husk
reveals he was once an Overlord but lost it all because of gambling when he admits to making a deal with Alistair to keep his power they bond singing a duet with one another and defeating a group of gangsters the peer returned to the hotel his friends an angel full forgives Charlie for trying to help him but when you're dealing in Souls while also being a gambler the stakes are pretty high the fifth episode dad beat dad begins with everyone gathering in the lobby of the hasbin hotel watching Charlie who stays up all night searching for
a new solution to their problems assuming they're running out of options vaggie encourages Charlie to call her dad and she assumes Lucifer can get her a meeting with Heaven however Charlie feels like her dad never wanted to see her after his separation from Lilith but she decides to call him despite her worries the next scene cuts to Lucifer trying to create a new form of rubber duck as he struggles with his creative process after losing his family Lucifer is Overjoyed when Charlie calls and does his best to seem casual but he can't help refusing to
get her the meeting she wants in a lasage effort to recruit her dad's help Charlie invites Lucifer to the hasbin hotel so he can see all the efforts she's making after Lucifer arrives at the hotel his Feud with Alistair begins Lucifer hopes to convince Charlie she only needs his help but Alistair reminds Charlie he's been there since day one and claims she's like the daughter he never had the pair are interrupted by alistair's old friend Mimsy who arrives at the hotel to reconnect with Alistair the pair knew each other in life and appeared on good
terms as Alistair joins Charlie in giving Lucifer a tour of the hotel Mimsy greets husk and Nifty like they're well acquainted before telling angel dust and serenus how Alistair became so powerful in hell as The Story Goes he would defeat other overlords and broadcast their screams over the radio to assert his power and role as the radio demon meanwhile hus stops Alistair from the tour to ask him about Mimsy because she only shows up when there's trouble and needs Alistair to protect her from something Alistair tells him not to worry but husk insists claiming he's
been gone long enough that others may be willing to challenge him especially since no one knows where he disappeared he also declares that Alistair has made his own deal with someone more powerful causing Alistair to lash out and threaten husk reminding him of his place at the same time Charlie asked for her dad's opinion about the hotel and he tells her Sinners shouldn't receive all her effort because they had their chance at Redemption and chose to use their Free Will poorly as if to prove his point lone sharks attack the hotel in search of Mimsy
as the hotel residents scramble to get somewhere safe Alistair tells vaggie to stand aside wanting to defend the hotel and remind everyone why he's there managing to defeat the lone sharks on his own Lucifer tries to use alistair's vicious attack as an example of why Sinners can't be trusted but Charlie tells him to stop claiming that Alistair believes in her even though her father doesn't when the battle finishes Alistair prioritizes the hotel's safety by sending Mimsy away but not before giving her the option to choose Redemption Lucifer and Charlie then sing a duet about how
much they mean to each other and despite their estrange relationship they've always inspired each other Charlie convinces Lucifer to believe in her dreams and he promises to help her including getting her a meeting with Heaven Charlie's excited for the opportunity but the episode ends with vaggie seeming worried dad stop he's defending this hotel it may be a bit more sadistic than I'd hoped but he's doing it for Me episode 6 welcome to Heaven picks up where the last left off as Charlie packs for her day trip to Heaven vaggie tries to lie to get out
of the trip but fails with Charlie convincing her to come along for her support angel dust then arrives home from a 16-hour shift with Valentino and is desperate for rest however he's interrupted by his friend Cherry Bomb bursting a hole through the hotel's wall there to convince Angel to go go on a night on the town Charlie overhears Cherry bomb's proposal and convinces her to take everyone in the hotel with them believing they deserve a responsible night out while she's preoccupied in heaven with a substantial payment to bribe her into compliance Cherry Bomb agrees to
take everyone with her and Angel before the portal to heaven opens for Charlie and vaggie they arrive at the Gates of Heaven where they meet St Peter who refuses to let them in believing they must be lost the sarap fims Sarah and Emily arrive to greet them with Emily being much more enthus I Astic about Charlie's arrival in heaven The Three Angels give them a tour showing them how much better Heaven seems than hell during this they pass by Adam and loot who later meet with Sarah she knows about the extermination and wants it to
be kept secret from the other Angels she orders Adam to do whatever he can to stop the problem from worsening when Charlie goes to the zoo with Emily Adam and loot arrive in the room she's staying in to threaten vaggy they reveal her Origins as a former Angel and exterminator however they took her wings and left her in hell after she refused to kill a sinner child they request that vaggie help them during the trial or else they'll reveal the truth to Charlie Charlie and vaggie meet with a court of angels to prove Sinners can
have Redemption using angel dust as an example Adam provides a fake list of what he believes should get someone into heaven and the court watches Angels night out with the others to see if he meets the criteria while angel dust struggles at first spending the beginning of his night Downing drinks with cherry bomb he stops when he notices Nifty in trouble Angel prevents Nifty from stealing cleaning supplies and over drinking not wanting her to end up like him he also stands up to Valentino to protect her despite the danger it puts him in Angel's selfless
actions lead him to check off everything on Adam's list and when he doesn't appear in heaven the Angels realize they don't know what gets a human soul into heaven Adam again tries to convince Charlie that Sinners can't be redeemed accidentally revealing information about the extermination infighting breaks Out Among the Angels while Emily stands alongside Charlie as they questioned Heaven's morality as promised Adam and loot reveal vaggie's identity as an angel in retaliation before sending the pair back to Hell In the End Sarah claims she didn't see enough evidence to prove Sinners can redeem themselves she
also warns Emily to stop questioning everything or else she could end up like Lucifer Fallen of human Souls demon or not there is no reason to be doing this they were Uprising Emily the seventh episode hello Rosie begins with the hotel residents gathered in the lobby questioning vaggie about her Origins as an angel the meeting in heaven and where Charlie is when she reveals Charlie is in their room alone Alistair goes to talk to her trying to cheer her up while she cries Charlie seems ready to give up entirely until Alistair promises to tell her
information about how to destroy Angels provided she makes a deal with him he doesn't ask for her soul but he does ask for a favor that he can call on at any time of his choosing and he promises it won't require her to hurt anyone when Charlie makes the deal she learns Carmela killed an angel during the last extermination and sends vaggie to talk to her at the same time Charlie leaves with Alistair to gather more reinforcements for the upcoming battle on their way Charlie confides and Alistair about vaggie lying about her past until they
arrive in cannibal town where Alistair introduces her to an old friend and fellow Overlord Rosie Alistair requests Rosie's cannibals to help fight the angels in return they could Feast on the ones they kill Rosie agrees to help because she likes Charlie and knows Alistair has never led her astray meanwhile vaggie arrives at Carmela's who initially refuses to assist her Carmela attacks vaggie stating she needs to be quicker to survive the Angel's attacks back in cannibal Town Rosie assembles a crowd that Charlie must gain the Loyalty of she warns Charlie about Susan who if convinced could
make the others follow Charlie yells at Susan before the scene Cuts back to Carmela and vaggie Carmela knowing vaggie is an angel picks a fight to show her Angel's exploitable weaknesses Carmela also explains she used us an Angelic weapon to kill the angel and only did so because she was cornered with her daughters during the elastic extermination and wanted to protect them she convinces vaggie to fight for love and vaggie restores her wings Rosie pulls Charlie aside and Charlie tells her about her relationship with vaggie Rosie tells Charlie that vaggie is trying to redeem herself
and that it's not easy to admit to things you're not proud of she says actions speak the truth convincing Charlie to give her girlfriend the benefit of the doubt and believe in their shared love thanks to Rosy's inspire ing words Charlie can reapo the crowd in cannibal town with a clear head and convinces them to join the upcoming fight through song during the song Alistair reveals to Rosie that he wants to guide Charlie and her power so he will always be on The Winning Side unaware of this Charlie returns to the hasb been hotel with
Alistair and the cannibals where she meets vaggie at the front Gates the pair address their misunderstanding and make up before finding angel dust and the others fortifying the hotel preparing for Adam's imminent arrival I made a deal with Alistair Charlie oh calm down she still owns her soul the eighth and final episode The Show Must Go On begins with Vox spying on the hban hotel making fun of them for planning to fight the Angels he's excited to watch Alistair and the others fail meanwhile Charlie and the others prepare for battle between training the cannibals and
strengthening the hotel's defenses Charlie gives an inspiring speech about how she expects them to win but in case they don't she tells them how honored she is to have known them all the group gathers inside the hotel to cele celebrate and spend the night together sharing drinks stories and heartfelt conversations when Charlie goes missing from the celebration vaggie finds her Crying In Fear she convinces Charlie that she's already succeeded in helping everyone who lives in the hotel and if nothing else she managed to save her the Coupes share how much they love each other and
end the night with a kiss the following morning Adam and loot prepare The Exorcist to attack the hasbin hotel they have a personal goal of killing vaggie but when they arrive they find a magical Shield created by Alistair in their way the few Angels who made it through the shield begin fighting as Charlie's forces wield Angelic weapons Adam eventually breaks the shield and begins a one-on-one fight with Alistair Alistair holds out for some time and manages to get a few hits in but Adam ultimately harms Alistair enough to put him on the brink of death
resulting in the radio demon fleeing from the battle serenus pulls Cherry Bomb to the side to declare his love for her before going to his death ray using it to launch a direct attack on Adam unfortunately he doesn't land a single blow before Adam kills him seeing her friend die for her Charlie unleashes her demonic power transforming herself alongside Razzle and Dazzle she engages in a fight with Adam while vaggie and loot fight within the lobby of the hotel vaggie drops some of the buildings on loot but allows her to live to escape loot rips
off her arm Adam nearly defeats Charlie before Lucifer arrives to stop him Lucifer defends his daughter and uses his Angelic powers to help defeat Adam their fight leads to the hasbin hotel crumbling to the ground and Adam's near death by Lucifer's hand however Charlie convinces him to show Mercy until a surprising turn of events results in Nifty delivering the killing blow loot orders the remaining Exorcist to flee in the aftermath of the battle the news covers how Charlie and Lucifer managed to cancel the planned extermination Charlie and the others recoup after mourning serenus for his
sacrifice Charlie feels guilty for not doing better leading Lucifer and the others to convince her to keep trying in the final moments of the Season Charlie rebuilds the hasbin hotel the v's plot to overcome the other overlords Alistair reveals he's made a deal that restricts his freedom serenus arrives in heaven and loot approaches Lilith on what appears to be a Heavenly Beach she claims that Adam's death means Lilith's deal is over and if she wants to remain in heaven she'll have to stop Charlie your Brad is threatening the very Foundation of heaven and if you
want to stay here you're going down there and stopping that the first season of hasb been hotel has lived up to the Hy presented by the pilot episode it's funny action-packed and heart-wrenching at times Charlie's goal to rehabilitate hell is an uphill battle but her endless optimism and can do attitude make it easy to root for her everyone loves an underdog and when the next season premieres the audience will flock to their screens eager to see what trouble Charlie and her friends get into next he stops Nifty from stealing and he stuck it to that
