Last weekend we were in Madrid. We went there on Friday by train as it's fast and comfortable. We arrived at Atocha station.
We took the subway and we walked through the Puerta del Sol (Door of the Sun). In the evening, we saw a musical in the Gran Via. The show was fantastic.
We had a great time. We went to bed late. We slept in a big apartment.
The next day, we had churros with chocolate for breakfast because it's the typical breakfast of Madrid. In the morning, we rode in the cable car. Then we walked along Alcalá street and got to Cibeles square.
We went to a bar and we all had squid sandwiches. In the afternoon, we took lots of photos in the Plaza Mayor. My friends were in the Real Madrid stadium and they saw the football players.
Me, I don't like football and I went to the Prado museum to see the Velázquez paintings. The entry didn't cost me anything. In the evening, we looked for a place to eat.
We saw many tapas restaurants. Eventually we ate in a very strange restaurant. We asked for tripe, sausage, salad and eggs with potatos and ham.
I drank a beer. On Sunday, we woke up early and went to Rastro market. We bought a shirt that we liked very much.
We also came across a group that were playing music. Then we went to the Retiro park. We walked in the gardens and around the lake, but we didn't ride a boat.
On Sunday afternoon, we took another train and went back home. We really liked Madrid, we want to go back there next year.
