There is a Pope wandering the Threshold. And he doesn't just walk. Your “ex-holiness” hovers over thousands of filthy and infected bodies, feeling a deep horror and even disgust for your brothers trapped there in the darkness, at your side.
He tries his best not to step on the ground, as it would be exhausting for his ecclesiastical robes, which he is so proud of and which he believes he still keeps intact with the strength of his will. But they are just mental projections. Still considering himself the greatest head of the Church, he wants to be respected here as he was on Earth, no matter how much he feels he is not in the right place.
When he can't float, he walks in the depressing immensity of the Umbral. With the dark sky as a witness, the Pope adjusts his enormous red cloak, with golden details. He believes that darkness affects his health, and even his “clemency”, which he swears he has in abundance.
But everything will not change now, as I remain the Supreme Pontiff! This lost spirit wandered towards the desolate and silent scene. He regretted getting his shoes, specially made for the leader of the largest church on the planet, dirty on this poor and rough surface.
He lied to himself saying he understood divine plans. He believed that God wanted him, the Supreme Spiritual Leader of the earth, to spend some moments in misery, as Jesus Christ did. After this ordeal, he would then be received with the well-deserved party by God, staying by his side in Paradise.
He wanted to be summoned soon, to show his “resume of kindness” to the Creator. Enough of this ordeal! Where are my vassals?
? In his delusions, he hallucinated. And sometimes he saw, in the sad spirits that roamed the Threshold, leaders and heads of state on Earth, with whom he lived incarnate.
But they were nothing more than figures, spirits as lost as he was. . .
When he noticed the lack of the papal ring, he despaired. The fisherman's golden ring, for him the most important symbol of his power when alive, was no longer on his finger. He threw himself into the mud looking for the object, in vain.
But what world is this where you have the audacity to steal my sacred belongings? When he was at the height of his power, he would never have been able to imagine reaching this stage of miserable life, where he spends most of his time wandering and searching for his former faithful. I'm not like those people who hide in the holes in the rocks and carry with them guilt and more guilt!
Seeing the lights of spiritual cities in the distance, he wants to believe that, soon, he will be with his family, enjoying the promised heaven, as no one would be more deserving to enter it with all the necessary pomp. This report is present in the book Umbral, Mental Projections, Testimonies and Spiritual Rescue, by Abel and Adriana Glaser, by the spirit Cairbar Schutel. The identity of this pope was not revealed in the psychography.
Who do you think you are? Was it Alexander Sextus? The Pope of the Borgia family in the fifteenth century?
Considered one of the most corrupt and sickening popes in history? Or maybe Paul the Fourth? Known as the “inquisitor pope” in the sixteenth century, notorious for his cruel persecution of anyone he considered a heretic, including Protestants and Jews.
Or it would be Leo the Tenth, the “pope of indulgences”, a member of the Medici family who in the sixteenth century sold the Church's divine forgiveness for any sin, in exchange for a lot of money.
