welcome to the third video on our mission.com online da training course series with Abdul Rahe green so far we have discussed how the G RP is an effective method to convey The Message of Islam to a non Muslim and we've also discussed how we should agree upon Common Sense within our da conversations now we're going to be going into the thick of the go rap which is G for God's existence so ABD Rim what are the reasons or what are the evidences to show that God exists the two angles we can come at this from
is number one the point of view of design if we have an ordered Universe surely there must be something that ordered it because that's our common Human Experience where we see things working according to laws according to patterns according to systems our Common Sense our common Human Experience tells us that's what's common sense reason tells us that something must have designed it must have organized it so it's perfectly rational perfectly sensible to link the observation of design the reality of order with intelligence and power and will sure so it it doesn't it doesn't it doesn't
prove as an argument that Allah as we know Allah exists but what it indicates is an intelligent wise powerful being right that's the first stage because it's quite important in go rap that we're taking people through stages sure so in a sense we're explaining to them this is a this is B this is C it doesn't prove that this letter this letter and this letter yet makes this sentence this poem or this whatever so what we're trying to make clear in their minds is that common Human Experience leads us to conclude that where we see
things working according to laws and patterns according to order something has imposed laws patterns order upon it what exactly it is we're not defining at the beginning of the conversation we just want agreement with them right okay on that particular topic right um and the second is uh an argument based on causality sure that everything everything that exists everything that happens has a cause so an example of that would be you're walking along in the desert you find a mobile phone sure lying there on the sand now although around you in the desert you have
the possib ability in terms of the basic minerals and the basic things that you need in order to make a mobile phone so you have sand M from which glass and the Silicon chip comes you have plastic you have oil from which the plastic comes you have traces of precious metals which make the circuit circuit board sure you know I mean you have bits of twigs and you know the even if it's the desert you have some palm trees I mean the point being is that the basic minerals which make up a mobile phone they
are there and some of them are there in plent in with in plentitude and there's lots of oil lots of sand and you have the possibility of heat with the sun uh you have wind you have all the possibility of movement heat lightning perhaps occasionally rain could fall maybe it's occasionally but you get the concept potentially we could talk about over billions and billions of years of all of these things shifting and moving and and you get a mobile phone forming out of random events right um we would say that's ridiculous yeah um and it
is ridiculous because the mobile phone is clear something that clearly is designed forget the fact that we know a human being because this is a this is a bit of a red herring that some people say yeah but we know a phone has been designed we know it's been made that's that's a red herring the point is is that design is apparent in it because there's certain things certain things that need to come together in order for something to be design as opposed to stuff just lying around randomly yeah yeah we we know the difference
between something that is relatively random and something that is purposefully designed and this displays characteristics of something that is purposely designed we could come across an object that we have no previous experience of it's not something theoretically that is not a mobile phone maybe it's something designed by an alien but still we would recognize the components of design in it yeah even though it's not something we've got previous experience of so the argument that oh yeah but that's just what we've got experience of no we'd still apply this to different places we went different things
we could potentially see so that's the point it's a very simple very logical very rational something that appeals to most it appeals to everybody even the atheist really cannot bring a convincing uh argument it's so powerful and it's so basic uh and the point here is to show that we have really good rational reasons to believe that the Universe has a Creator because the design in the universe is apparent everywhere we look at the alternation of the night and the day we look at the different uh composition of gases we look at uh many different
things water how how amazing it is that water when it is in its solid state IE its ice it floats it doesn't sink because if water when it was solid I when it was Ice sunk then life would not exist if the on well probably definitely wouldn't exist on it might do but it's unlikely um the composition of gases in the atmosphere just happen to be the right for life to exist we happen to have this gas the ozone that filters out the harmful effects of the sun's radiation we happen to be just at a
distance from the Sun that allows light we happen to rotate on our axis on this Earth at just the right speed amazing we happen to have another planet near near us that actually diverts its gravitational force diverts meteors from space so it doesn't bombard the earth I mean what you find is the more you look the more you see this in incredible Precision that exists within our solar system and then you can explore even further into the very forces which make the universe what it is gravity uh the strong and the weak nuclear force they
all are in such a precisely finely tuned way that if it was different by a small degree the universe as we know it would not exist even the universe after the big bang would have exploded so quickly and so fast everything would have dissipated or if it was if the forces were different it would have just stayed compressed you know and it goes on and on so that and we find these evidences of design wherever we look yeah and the Lo logical rational conclusion to come to is that there is a designer right right and
if there a if there is as a designer it must be that the the the it must be powerful and it must be very wise very intelligent and these are simple things we can conclude by looking at the world around us the universe around us sure so basically you're saying that when we observe something for examp like a mobile phone we know there's an intelligence behind it because as it's it's ordered it has pattern systems processes working in Harmony and when we look at our creation we see the same things that indicates that there's an
intelligent designer that put us into existence absolutely so um what is the the second argument that we know that God exists the second argument is very simple everything that begins to exist has a cause the universe began to exist therefore it must have a cause very simple sure very very simple everything that begins to exist something must have caused it something must have brought it into existence because we do not except it goes against everything we know as human beings it goes against the whole grain of Common Sense and reason uh that things just spontaneously
come into existence if I if we were sitting here in this studio and there we found a pink elephant in it we would not presume that this pink elephant literally just appeared out of nowhere sure sure there there's nothing in from Human Experience to make us believe such a thing yeah um and so everything that begins to exist has a cause M we are pretty sure as much as we can be that the Universe had a beginning it began to exist yeah therefore the universe must have a cause must be a cause now there are
certain things we can understand by using our reason about the cause of the universe sure and one of those things we can conclude reasonably is that the cause of the universe the nature of the cause of the universe must be different from the universe yeah it must be different because if its nature was the same as the universe it would be the same as the universe in other words it would be more of the same yes and then we would have to quite rationally ask well what brought that into existence what caused that because everything
that begins to exist must have a cause so something must have caused that to come into existence so that's why we can safely conclude that its nature must be different sure the cause of the universe did not have a beginning it never began to exist because it always has existed right right as the universe is needy this cause of the universe must be self-sufficient this universe is finite this cause that brought the universe into existence must be infinite so it's very easy to conclude that the cause of the universe that must necessarily be there uh
there must be this cause for a finite limited Universe should be infinite self-sufficient unconfined by space and time which just happen to be some of the attributes of the Creator sure so actually bringing these two arguments together the design argument and the argument of causality M we can rationally conclude and I would argue that it's the it is the most rational conclusion we can make about this universe sure everything else just sounds just crazy it just doesn't you know it's really in Fairy Tail land that there is a being that is infinite that is self-sufficient
that is free of space and time that is intelligent that has Will and that has power and we could only rationally conceive of one such being there couldn't be two infinite self-sufficient omniscient beings there can't be two it can only be one if there was two one would necessarily have to restrict the power and the ability of the other so it's not difficult to see how using reason we can come to believe in one Eternal self-sufficient being creator that is free from space and time that is unique that is one it's a very very rational
conclusion to come to sure and that's what most people call God the God yeah so it it's using common sense and reason it's very easy to see how we necessarily must really believe that there is a creator of this universe sure so so you're basically saying that you know this universe itself it had a beginning and obviously we don't just assume something could just pop into existence from nothing so we'll never assume that with our universe it must have had a Creator behind it and as you said when we use our logic and our reason
we you know come to certain conclusions on the nature of the Creator are you being one Eternal Etc one of the things I like to do in my conversation is when I talk about common sense I give a few examples I give a few examples of things that every human being agrees upon yeah yeah so there are some basic rules of logic for example something can't be its opposite sure you know something can't be a certain thing and be the opposite of that thing at the same time it can't be the circle you can't have
a circle being a square but it still is a circle maybe you can conceive of forcing the line of the circle to make it a square but it stops being a circle it can't be a circle and a square the same it's basic rules of reasoning sure something doesn't come from nothing this is a basic rule of reason we see something we know it had a cause this is a basic rule of reason if if we human beings agreed that something could come from nothing imagine what that would lead to no no I I I
didn't murder that person someone who looked like me spontanously came out of nowhere popped into existence and murdered that person and popped out of existence I mean if we human beings accepted those type of explanations can you imagine how ridiculous we'd have we'd have we'd have no explanations for anything you know even scientists who uh atheist scientists because it's a it's not um you know it's not fair to let imagine that every scientist is an atheist it's simply not true apart from anything else but some of the atheists have made a good job of making
everyone think that you know they they argue um they argue this possibility sure um you know that that it's possible that this universe you know could have come from they have various explanations you know it could have come from nothing or come from nowhere or you know but but by that argument we could say well why have science because if you can presume that then you could say we all spontaneously came into existence at this instant now yeah and even your memory of my conversation we've just listened to now was not real m it's not
real the memory spontaneously came into existence at that moment right yes yeah and then why not all the geological formations and all their so-called proof of evolution no it didn't evolve it didn't happen it spontaneously just appeared like that randomly why not it leads to absurdities basically it does lead to absurdities if they're honest they have to admit that if they're saying it's possible that such precise organized mechanisms as that we find in the universe could have spontaneously come into existence without anything ordering it anything creating it then why not say the same thing about
the universe as it could have spontaneously came into existence right now this instant and then why have science yeah it's basically what you call a non-argument it goes nowhere it takes us nowhere and that's the problem you what can you do with such a thing you know and and there's so many things that you could say are possibilities but they're so ridiculous that we discount them right right you know we discount them we say no it's it's not something we can accept as being reasonable and that comes back to it we're being reasonable let's use
our reason what's reasonable what's not yeah so believing in God is very reasonable brothers and sisters there we have it two powerful reasons or evidences that you can now show people for the existence of godd green and as always for watching the next episode we'll be talking about Revelation how we know that the Quran which is the book of the Muslims is from the creator of our universe
