we're just light years ahead oh my God it's gonna take them a really long time to catch up to [Music] this hello vog it's the swamp princess DOI and today is a very exciting day because I'm going to be picking out the final looks for my grammy red carpet the whole Tom Brown team is here to conceptualize a bit of a story which is exciting I love telling Fashion Stories and that's what we plan on doing at the Grammys so let's get into it in my studying of hip-hop I observed an era where fashion shifted
and became a vital part of hip-hop and it was around the time where Jay-Z decided to put on a suit and take off jeans and make rrap highly luxurious and like this boss executive thing I fell in love with Tom Brown in my research for brands that I wanted to incorporate into this this era and I want to tell that story that being a student of hip-hop and studying brought me to where I am which is nominated for four Grammys which is incredible we're going to be giving them classes in session all night I'm torn
for carpet if I'm going to do this or if I'm going to do this I think that this is Sleek and simple and to the point and it tells the story and it's direct but this the drama of it all you have to to have a certain taste level and an eye to immediately understand it it might take a couple people to catch up so we haven't decided what we want to do yet I think I want to try this one first and look look look look bam what come [Music] on the concept like started
from me wanting to also play a lot with the masculine and The Feminine throughout the night and at first I set a suit with exaggerated hips and a small waist but then Tom Brown sent back the most beautiful sketch of a suit dress and that duality of masculine and feminine I was like that is definitely it I think this is the carpet look I think so too I don't we haven't even tried on the rest but I just feel it everything in my life that I've been good at I could visually see myself doing it
first and so I just had a flash of me on the carpet in this and it worked and so that's how I know that things are meant to be when I can see them or actualize them the vision for this is that she has this finger wave in the front and then her braids coming out of the back the people out there who don't know what a lace is this is a lace so you cut that and then it looks like your hair but you know this isn't a hair education so this is going to
be Fab that looks this is absolutely fits your face already it's poetic I'm sorry is it always about Conant elevation in terms of styl redefine that's all because the cold bear look really is the tiny DK look when you think about it it's kind of all the same world it's just how can we interpret it in a new way like pinstripe is not new people wear ties every day you know the the white collared shirt but get it do it okay no seriously I'm acting like a Leo right now I need to I need to
chill out I'm being like hella cocky it's not funny I think this is really nice I'm thinking this is just a fun inside look with a story there has to be Peaks and valleys and this is one of our Peaks when DOI said she wanted to do tailoring but with exaggerated shapes I looked through all of Tom's Collections and then I showed DOI a range of all these runway images and we selected her favorite pieces and then I spoke with the team and we narrowed it down to what was available what was possible and they
remade these for DOI in her measurements these are my favorite shoes of all time ball winter 22 these are inred colored to begin with on the runway yeah and then we decided to paint them gray and white to keep everything cohesive cohesive and monochromatic and just amazing let's put on the Final Touch oh my God she's darling I want to wear this inside so I want to test if we can sit on a chair can someone bring a chair in here can we ask the Grammys if the chairs have arms if it doesn't have arms
you should be fine will be great this is fine no arms no arms what can I say this is fashion this is fabulous this is the astronaut look it actually comes with the astronaut helmet helmet bag we have these gloves as well I think it's kind of cool to just let them hang I think something about it makes it Street in a way Fab let's try the Hair W wow wow it's like tribal a little bit mhm but I don't know like tribal Couture it's just crazy but it's outer space but it's totally here it's
the past present and future yeah okay let's get into the next look this is my if I were to win winners look this entire outfit is because of this shoe and I want to show you the shoe it has a bell and it rings when you walk and so the gold of this matching the gold of my grammy come on she's a fashion icon this for me right now this gives more student maybe graduated from a student maybe a Dean don't you do do I just love this Ensemble to me it ties up the whole
night the penstripe the business wear in every shade of gray and even my performance look has Many Shades of Gray in it this is the moment this is the end of the story the end of the night I'm obsessed I'm actually obsessed with this look this is my favorite I really stepped into myself for this project I stepped into myself in a way that I cannot be apologetic about for me because I earned it everything about my life right now is embodying and owning what I have overcome and not feeling guilty for celebrating that and
showing up dramatically in celebration all the time because I have a reason to celebrate Vogue this has been an incredible experience but I got to get to the red carpet so thank you guys for being here with me and I'll see you at the Grammys when I would like rehearse my grammy speeches when I was younger to everybody else it was just like cute and it was funny but for me really was there and I think that whatever happens on that night I've already experienced the wind and I felt the feelings of the wind whenever
