[Music] i want the name of jesus christ to be glorified above all names and so father as we proceed now that will be my objective lord to lift the name of jesus christ higher so that every person here today who is in need will just sense your love and your peace and those lord have come to learn and i'm sure it's most lord will also learn how to minister to others thank you father in jesus name amen i want to start speaking today from the scripture first corinthians chapter 6 and verses 19 and 20. looking

first however at verse 18 it says flee sexual immorality every sin that a man does is outside the body but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body or do not do you not know that your body is the temple of the holy spirit who is in you whom you have from god and you are not your own for you were bought at a price therefore glorify god in your body and in your spirit which are gods and those of us who are christians and i trust that's everybody here today will know that

we've been bought at the price of the blood of jesus christ on the cross and this body is intended to be god's holy temple so the scripture makes it very clear and warns us that we should be aware that our body is the temple of the holy spirit and we if we deliberately sin we do so at the risk of walking on the blood of jesus christ and when we come to jesus christ and we're aware of his love we should seek to obey the commandments of god to love the lord our god with all

our heart with all our mind with all our soul and with all our strength to love our neighbor as ourselves and to love one another as jesus loved us now if we love god we're going to obey him we're not going to disobey him and the most evangelistic meetings that i take i read from galatians 5 and verse 23 onwards of a considerable number of items of the flesh which make it very clear that if we begin to move in the flesh that we will not enter the kingdom of god if we commit certain sins

and you'll find those in galatians uh verses 20 at least 19 through 21 and they are listed there adultery forti fornication uncleanness licentiousness idolatry sorcery hatred contentions jealousies outbursts of anger selfish ambitions dissensions heresies envy murders drunkenness rivalries and the like and paul says of which i told you beforehand just as i told you in time past that those who practice such things will not enter the kingdom of god but the fruit of the spirit is love joy peace long-suffering kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self-control against such there is no law so we are encouraged

to move and walk in the holy spirit and if you want to know how to walk in the holy spirit well there it is walk in those that fruit of the spirit and avoid the lusts of the flesh now the second point that i want to make is that satan seeks to invade the body of the believer as well as the unbeliever satan seeks to invite invade the body of the believer as well as the unbeliever and this is a problem for many people who are christians and i know some of you will come here

today and will say that a christian cannot be demon possessed and i will say amen amen and amen a christian cannot be demon possessed the reason for the understanding about christians and involvement with demons goes back to the king james bible which has used the word possessed alongside of the word demon but there is nothing absolutely nothing in the original greek which in any way suggests that the word possessed should go alongside the word demon there is nothing in the greek which suggests that the word possession goes alongside of the word the correct translation is

to be affected by or to be influenced or under the influence of a demon so a christian cannot i say today be possessed by them possession means ownership a christian is owned by the lord but we can be under the influence of or attacked by a spirit and those of us who have ministered in this realm not to thousands upon thousands of christians know that this is true if it weren't true then much sickness would not affect christians because uh sickness in many elements is often demonic and many christians do get sick and they get

attacked in their body by the devil and when we cast out demons out of christians demons of sickness and they get healed then they have at some point been affected by but been or influenced by a demon but they have not been possessed by a demon so let's be very clear today the word possession and the word should not go alongside of the word demon it is not in the original greek it is a mistranslation in the original king james bible and the devil will use that to confuse people and cause all sorts of problems

and i know even today people are writing books that christians can't be demon possessed which is true and then attacking the whole possibility of christians in fact being influenced by or affected by demons now i first learned this very early on in my christian walk when we opened a prayer meeting in our home and a young man came along brought along by my vicar and he uh had a problem he was a spirit-filled tongue-talking christian man was seeking to lead a life before god that was right righteous he went to church regularly his life was

excellent as far as we understood there was no major problem but when he sang in tongues as he got to a certain pitch something seemed to take him over and you know when we are speaking in tongues god's tongue never takes it over if he gives us the holy spirit gives us the tongue we are never taken over that is something from the devil so i never understood what was wrong with this man nor to the vicar order the group of people who were leading the meeting so we began to pray with him and it

wasn't very long after i began to pray with him that within a few moments the word abortion came into my mind now an integral part of the deliverance ministry is to listen to the holy spirit to be aware of what the holy spirit is saying and i was young in the lord i was just beginning to listen to his voice and get thoughts and impressions which is the word of knowledge sometimes it's a vision sometimes it's the audible voice of god i was beginning to get these thoughts and impressions and as we're in the study

this night at 11 o'clock after the meeting suddenly the word abortion came to my mind so i spoke it out i was learning to speak in faith things that i believe were coming from god if we don't move in faith we'll never make any progress with god we've got to be a fool for god we've got to take risks at times so within the presence of the others i simply said i'm getting the word abortion the moment i said abortion this lovely man fell to the floor curled up like a fetus and began to scream

well we knew straight away that we'd hit on something and it transpired subsequently that his mother had tried to abort him well we prayed with that man that night and nothing particular happened i mean what did happen was the great manifestations of demons but nothing happened in the way of his deliverance in fact he seemed to get worse and by three in the morning we were getting quite panic stricken and we took him down to the local church in mount roskill and had communion to try and settle the situation but during the course of the

deliverance in my home and before we left around as the man looked out of the window he began to say or this voice that was speaking through him this christian this voice that was speaking through this christian was saying they're everywhere they're everywhere they're everywhere and i thought well there must be other demons and this man this the demon in this man is frightened of those demons well when we took him out to the car to take him to the church he was shuddering and carrying on like this and shaking and he was saying that

everywhere they're everywhere they're everywhere and well we just thought they were other demons so we bound them in jesus name and away we went down to the church and as i say nothing happened because the man remained just the same even though we had communion he settled down a bit but he was still very deeply troubled he came the following thursday night the following thursday night the following thursday night he hung in there we prayed for him week after week and finally a demon left him the main demon many others came out and he was

set free well a short time afterwards a reporter from the new zealand radio came to me from radio new zealand and said can i report on your prayer meetings quite a lot of people are coming a lot of people are talking about it i said certainly so he sat in on the meeting and then the next after the meeting he said i want to ask you some questions so we had a talk and then he said i'd like to talk to you tomorrow morning and as he talked to me in the same study the next

morning after a while the holy spirit gave me this impression that this young man wanted jesus so i said to him after a while would you like to receive jesus as your personal savior and he said yes well of course i always say that's what you should do with all reporters who come from newspapers in the media all right well he got on his knees he received the lord and then after i'd prayed for him for a few minutes again he began to manifest and i began to cast demons out of him and then after

a while the same voice began to say they're everywhere they're everywhere looking out the same window eyes bulging they're everywhere they're everywhere and i thought that's a repeat of the last performance but now i knew better because between those two episodes as i drove along the southern motorway one day the lord you know will speak to you who can say amen to that and the lord began to put impressions on my mind and it was along these lines you remember that man who came to see you with the spirit of abortion i said yes lord

he said you remember him pointing out the window and screaming there everywhere i said yes lord he said you know they weren't demons he said they were my angels of protection around your home and so when this young man the reporter uh began to manifest and shout the same thing i said yes demon they are angels around us they are god's angels aren't they and the spirit within the young man said this yes yes yes yes and he was obviously terrified in the spirit the demon could see the angels and so i want to tell

you today that around this building we have the angels of god and as we raise the name of jesus higher today every demonic power that may be afflicting anybody any questions we have that may not be from god anything that is not right will be dealt with by the holy spirit but let's remember we do have those angels of protection around us and i thank god that hebrews 1 14 says we do have ministering angels that are with us so never overlook the fact that we have the ministering angels all right if you want scriptural

reference to christians having demons there's not a lot there's not a lot there's acts 5 where ananias and sapphira lied i mean they were christians that made a commitment to jesus christ and what what happened how do i know they well we know they lied but how do we know it was a lying spirit because peter discerned that they were lie the holy spirit discerned that lie and i suggest to you and everything i say today i'm submitting to you you have to search the word you have to be like the bereans you have to

check it all out but i submit to you that there's a clear example of people who were committed to the lord suddenly being overtaken by something which caused them to lie through their teeth and so much so and so horrific was that lie that both of them within a very short time as you know died first uh and i uh first sapphira then ananias so they both paid the penalty that's how gravely the holy spirit looked on that particular transgression and then of course we have the woman who was bound for 19 for 18 years

who was bound by the spirit of infirmity in luke's gospel i think it's chapter 14 she's referred to as the woman who was the daughter of abraham and jesus prayed for this woman and she she was healed and he said just think of it think of it the daughter of abraham bound for 18 years by the spirit however from the practical point of view and from experience i want to tell you that we can be attacked but satan seeks to invade us and the unbeliever however we must remember there are two important proverbs proverbs 20

verse 27 and proverbs 20 verse 30. can i just share them with you for a moment both of them refer to the rooms of the belly says in proverbs chapter 20 and verse 27 the spirit of the man is the lamp of the lord searching all the inner depths of his heart now in my bible it says literally the rooms of the belly so i see the heart as having rooms and then verse 30 blows that hurt cleanse away evil as do stripes the inner depths of the heart again the belly is referred to the

inner rooms of the belly and i suggest to you that if we do not open every room of our heart or belly to god if we keep some doors shut within those doors there can be sin lurking like lust height anger rejection and on that seat of sin a demonic power can rest and that is why within certain parts of our flesh we can have demonic activity remember our spirit is surrendered to god but our flesh as dr derek prince says uh is the old man and we need to crucify that old nature every day

and if we don't crucify that old nature there the vultures as he said can attach to the flesh the vultures can attach to the flesh and that is why often we come under demonic attack but putting it on a more positive way but first of all before i do that ephesians 6 12 says that there are descending orders of authority in the heavens let's look at that scripture for a moment ephesians 6 and verse 12. for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities that's the first order the highest order in satan's

kingdom against powers that's the next order against the rulers of darkness of this age that's the next order down against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly place as they are the demonic powers and he and joins us to take up the whole armor of god to defeat that order of satan so our wrestling match is not just against flesh and blood against people it's against spiritual powers in the heavenlies in that order principalities then powers below them then rulers of darkness and then spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places and just as satan

has descending orders of authority in the heavens so god has his orders of authority and we know of course there's god there's jesus there's those with the lord there's the angelic hosts and of course there's ourselves on the earth not suggesting the angelic hosts are necessarily superior to us i'm just saying there is god's kingdom god's kingdom is controlled by love satan's is controlled i believe by fear but let's be very clear it's not a question of one equal battling against another equal god against satan that's not the case at all god is supreme god

is in charge god created satan in the first place of course he was an angelic being he fell from god's grace but it's not a clash where god and satan are equal god is supreme let's be very clear about it and god through jesus christ has won the war because we're told in colossians 2 15 that he has defeated the principalities and powers the bat the war has been won but the battle is still on and i often point out that during the second world war when the allied troops landed in normandy and began to

go right into the continent everybody knew that the war was won it was only a question of time though when the battles would end so when i look at the end of the word look at revelation i know who won we know who won who has won jesus has won the war is on but the the war has been won but the battle is still on well jesus has spoiled satan's authority then if we look at daniel 10 and verse 13 we find there a picture of daniel battling against these spiritual powers and there we

have the picture of the prince of persia who sought to defeat uh daniel or sought to defeat the angel gabriel who was on his way down to daniel and remember that daniel fell flat on the ground as this particular angel came towards him and he was terrified because he wondered what was happening but you see this prince after daniel had been fasting 21 days in verse 12 of chapter 10 of daniel we have he said to me do not fear daniel said this angel for from the first day you set your heart to understand and

to humble yourself before god your words were heard and i've come because of your word so the moment that daniel began to pray to god and fast fast god heard his words but the prince of the kingdom of persia was un withstood me for 21 days and behold michael one of the chief princes came to help me for i'd been left there alone with the kings of persia so here we have a clear picture and persia of course has been so much in the news iran that prince of the power of the air over persia

sought to hold daniel back and those of us who've moved along with the lord and as we walk with him we begin to understand that there are principalities over cities over churches over countries and that we need to battle against them and i often refer to my experience at singapore now it must be 12 years ago now where i went there at the invitation of the bishop to speak in the singapore cathedral and he said to me i'd like you to speak about demonology to the clergy bill so we took a session and as i

was talking in that suddenly the bishop stopped me and said bill he said i believe we have demons in our cathedral just wish all clergy were aware of the possibility of demons in their church anyway just as he said those words i received a vision from the lord of a dark angel about two and a half metres high over the spire of the singapore cathedral just a vision and below it was the word death and i said uh to the bishop yes i can witness to what you're saying bishop because i just i told him

the vision oh he said i have no problem about that vision and the word death because he said during the war many of the australian nurses were brought here by the japanese and were machine-gunned to death and died right in the grounds of this cathedral and were buried here and they were here during the war and exhumed after the war so he said what do we do so i said let's march around the cathedral jericho style which we did and as we formed up a procession in the good angler confession bishop at the front myself

alongside him as we walked around the church taking the place again for jesus as we came past the place where those nurses were buried and i didn't know at the moment it was the place suddenly i could hear this whoosh like a wind coming down the cathedral and it swept down it was the power of the holy spirit touched the procession virtually took bishop chew to the ground and he wondered what was happening he'd never been slain in the spirit and we knew that power was defeated we went in and cleansed the cathedral do you

know that that was the first anglican diocese in the world where every european church and there are chinese churches as well but there were many european churches i think 14 of them were 15 parishes there all subsequently became spirit-filled all preached the gospel to the fullest extent and all have gone on mightily with the lord only last year bishop chu sat in a conference like this with the several thousand people and he uh listened to what i had to say and he came up afterwards and said yes that was a tremendous experience you see the

life of that diocese was changed when that power was broken over that church over that cathedral and maybe today god's speaking about your church the possibility of demonic power or principalities of the air trying to attack not hard to discover many churches get a spirit of division spirit of quarreling fighting and often it's from the principality and power evidencing itself through the people in the church and then some years later i was in vanuatu at the invitation there of the then bishop and as i reached vanuatu the christians have been praying and fasting i used

to conduct a crusade and i went to meet the christians and then they took me up to the prime minister all right spent a little while with him and he began to share a vision he'd had a dream three years earlier and i did not know that he had been to every pastor every preach prayer every priest every preacher in vanuatu whom we could find to find out what the interpretation of that dream was i knew nothing of that and when he finished talking about the dream he looked at me expectantly and i realized he

was expecting me to interpret it well i never interpreted a dream ever but you know just when you're at your weakest is when god can be the strongest did you know that and as i was there sitting there suddenly thoughts came into my mind and i began to speak them out in faith and i saw him brighten up and i could see he was witnessing to what i was saying and for about quarter now the lord gave me what i believe was an interpretation or the interpretation of the dream well that had a great significance

that factor bearing in mind first the christians had been praying and fasting before i got there then the door had been opened to the prime minister the then prime minister and then after i left his residence i saw again in the spirit a powerful figure a demonic power you could see it quite clearly in a vision it had hair like a goat uh ears like an elephant or it was just a long hair it was a shocking looking thing and as it just came to me that left me but under it was division and it

was not hard to understand that over that country the spirit was reigning because they were just coming to independence and there was a great struggle going on and i knew that the revolution had taken place but i didn't know till i got out to the anglican synod that the man in charge of the revolution from the people's point of view was an anglican priest and he was present in the synod the group of people i was to speak to that's the governing body of the church there and the bishop said to me on the way

out to the senate he said you know bill i don't know if i've done the right thing in inviting you i might be premature he was getting cold feet you see now i go and address the synod on this island and in the midst of it as this man leading the revolution he had control of the countryside but not of the cities and his troops his his forces that no bloodshed had occurred and of course people were praying that no no bloodshed would happen because you see the british and french didn't want to give up

the country they were arguing about it yet the people had voted a referendum to be independent the governments had said yes we will release them but they couldn't get to that point that's why the revolution had taken place so to speak so that man sat right through that conference but as we got to the conference the bishop said to me something wonderful has happened because you see bill the the prime minister came on monday and opened the synod and i wasn't there due to italy friday but the first words he said when he got up

and spoke to that synod were these and don't ever tell me god doesn't guide your path the first words he said were these he said all of you will know that i've been virtually to every one of you for an interpretation of a dream i had three years ago and he said there's a man come into this country i saw him the other day and he gave me the complete interpretation of my dream and he mentioned my name and that gave me open sesame to the whole senate immediately they accepted me and then on the

friday when i arrived i was fully accepted we went through deliverance we went through the baptism of the spirit and the first man to come out in a public tongue because we laid hands on every member of that synod the first and we asked many of them to commit their lives to the lord many had not before that and the first man to give his life to speak in a public tongue and then bring a message in tongues was the man who subsequently became without bloodshed the prime minister of vanuatu and that's father walter leaney

and he's gone on to be prime minister of that country for these past ten years and that country came to nationhood without any bloodshed and i believe all of that is attributable to the fact that that demonic power had been torn down you see as we wage war against these forces we will see tremendous results do you know that the priests in that anglican church went out from that synod and they began to preach the gospel cast out demons and heal the sick and bishop the bishop told me subsequently that revival spread right through the

islands because they said instead of the services finishing anglican services finishing at eight o'clock at night they were finishing at one in the morning and that revival went on up into the solomons you see when we take authority the lord's name can be glorified then a few years later i was in the super cathedral they're speaking in a healing meeting to a lot of people and among the people who came were a lot of indians now they were gospel hardened because they were living alongside of christians and siva they knew about the gospel there's nothing

worse than when people hear about the gospel but are not interested and many of these had only come because they thought there was a healer there and people will often come to a meeting because they believe there's a healer well as i was speaking the lord began to speak to me about the goddess goddess durga d-i-r-g-a which he said held these people spellbound the people who were non-believers and i at that time only vaguely knew that was a hindu goddess so suddenly i interrupted my preaching and i said in the name of jesus christ goddess

durga come down in the name of jesus christ let your grip go over these people in the name of jesus christ who raised from the dead i command you to release these people and immediately havoc started there must have been 150 of these indian folk there god bless them many of them muslim and they began to fall on the ground and wriggle like snakes right along the pews right along the ground right to the front of the place thank god we had eight anglican clergy who were practiced in deliverance and they moved in and bound

these demons but then mayhem was unbelievable of the noise coming out of these people's mouths there must have been 50 to 100 of them to which this happened took us about quarter of an hour to restore order i went on completed my message gave a call for those who want to give their life to the lord and every one of those people came out and confessed jesus christ as lord many of them as i say were muslim you see when we bring down those powers then all hell literally breaks loose and we are ready then

to move in and take authority in the name of jesus christ as we preach the gospel i want to speak now about three strong men what is a strong man in matthew's gospel chapter 12 jesus says unless you bind the strong man you cannot take over his house unless you bind the strong man what is a strong man well if you went home now and there was a man in your house with a gun and he wouldn't let you in i would class him as a strong man jesus said in matthew chapter 12 and verse

29 or else how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man and then he will plunder his house now if a person is subject to a demonic power and we are seeking to deliver them we must see whether the strong man there is a strong man there who is controlling that house and i always find in deliverance that there is a strong man there was always a strong man of some description maybe rejection might be anger might be rage or it may be some other name

but very frequently i find that there are in fact three strong men an ungo unholy trinity which i believe the scripture describes as jezebel antichrist and death and hell and i first came across death and hell when i began to cast out demons the words death and hell came to my mind i began to use them and i saw tremendous manifestations now i'm not suggesting that antichrist jezebel and god and death and hell are the only strong men they're not but they are i believe the strongest perhaps of the strong men referred to in scripture

and if we look at jezebel we find that she goes right back to nimrod in the scripture she established idolatry over the uh israeli nation over the over the jews the spirit of jezebel means a mother child religion a mother child religion and in pagan religion there is a copy of the christian situation of jesus and the little at least mary and the little child in pagan religion you'll find exactly that copy the devil always tries to anticipate now the result of that is that schizophrenia is a jezebel tribulation which are balanced today that's schizophrenia

is often caused by this jezebelic type of problem and jesus and schizophrenia is often one of the hardest things to see people completely delivered from and unless we know what we're up against well we have difficulty what the bible calls schizophrenia is double mindedness and that's in james 1 8 where it speaks of the double-minded man and he's always unstable a double-minded person will never have stability so frequently in a mother child combination this position occurs the child in the person the little child being another personality that comes to live in there the false this

the false person this is the person who's under who's in there makes the other person feel weak and insecure so we often get the situation where the mother is dominant and the father is passive and matthew 6 24 says no one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or else you will be loyal to the one and despise the other you cannot serve god and mammon so when a person is under a strong jezebelic influence there's a double-mindedness comes in there's a passivity comes in and we then

begin to find what we call an ahab spirit comes in if we look at scripture we find for example that ahab was a weak minded king in first kings 21 and verse 4 and he was the tool of his wife jezebel now jezebel restored heathen worship to israel ahab was the king but he had the strong-minded wife this domineering wife and she brought in this pagan worship into israel so quite frequently when we find a person has been dominated by their mother man's been dominated by their mother and that domination continues and he finds a

wife who dominates him we'll often find there's an ahab spirit that is a weak willed spirit that will submit to everything that the lady is talking about or the man's own mother may have been the source of that situation now that often leads to the manic depressive situation and i'm indebted here to harold jewebry for making the point and i believe it's so clear that the manic depressive situation is usually a situation where there's been the strong mother control down the line this jezebel spirit and that means that there is a spirit of religion in

the person that's one part of the personality so when that person comes to a meeting like this they get on a tremendous high that's the manic part of the personality because it's a religious spirit and satan loves religion so the person who goes on a great high who's a manic depressive in a meeting like this has this religious spirit then when they go out of it a day or two later they just collapse and the passive depressed spirit comes to the top and that's the real person so in manic depression we find this double-mindedness and

what needs to be done are the cords cut of the jezebelic spirit of control that have come through the generations i'll deal with that in just a moment jezebel men delegate to their wives the responsibility of being prophet priest and king over the home they want their wives to mother them whether we are aware of it or not it is the practical expression of the feminization of god for ashtaroth was both the wife and mother of baal so we find this feminization situation where men want to delegate everything to their wives instead of being head

of their home now in isaiah 47 there's a very clear picture of the spirit of jezebel it speaks of the spirit behind babylon god is speaking to the spirit and he's telling her certain things now i don't want to read the whole scripture but i want to draw your attention to certain things first of all she often brings senility i believe in old age verse 6 says you showed them no mercy on the elderly you laid your yoke very heavily verse 9 speaks of drug abuse in spite of your many sorceries the word sorcery in

the greek is pharmakia so she is behind the drug scene then occult and witchcraft in verse nine it says that it refers to the great power of your enchantment so this demonic power is the power behind witchcraft and occult worship and then she's also the power behind illicit sexual sins verse 8 says therefore you who are lovers of pleasures this is verse isaiah 47 verse 8 and then it goes on in verse 12 that you may be able to succeed perhaps you may inspire terror the mother child combination is often the child of terror now

what i find often in ministering to people who have a jezebelic power over their lives is that when you begin to minister you find there's been some traumatic event at an early age and as a result of that event demonic power has entered and trauma has taken place and then you suddenly discover that the person will respond as the holy spirit lead you you may say child of six whatever the holy spirit says to you the age come out and suddenly there's a complete collapse suddenly there's a manifestation of a child of six in the

person or seven or eight whenever that trauma occurred because at that point of trauma when that jezebel spirit has taken control it brings in this child of terror and very frequently i find in ministry of deliverance in very difficult cases that there is a child spirit there now psychologists have discovered this and they call called another personality in fact if you looked at your paper some weeks ago you may have noticed a case in america of a man who was up for rape but he met this woman in a central park in new york and

some part of her one of the personalities because the court said she had 46 of them one of the personalities spoke to him and encouraged him to have sex with her so they went and had sex and then another personality within her didn't like it so it encouraged her to go and declare that she was right so this man was brought before the courts and they swore on the bible they got 23 of these personalities to swear they would tell the truth fancy getting demons to swear they would tell the truth because you see the

psychologist will not acknowledge these are demons the moment the psychologist acknowledge these the demons a great part of his business disappears because he's got to move in the power of god or she's got to move in the power of god so man will not acknowledge the spiritual world that exists out there so on the um on the television just the other night they had a woman there with 23 personalities and they had a psychologist speaking to each of these personalities this was in australia that vampire case the woman who drank the blood i don't know
