the Bible that fits here is when God protected Noah and his family during the big flood they were safe in the ark just like we are safe when God is protecting us on to the next Psalm 35:3 draw out also the spear and stop the way against them that persecute me say unto my soul I am thy salvation this is like God getting ready to stop anyone who tries to harm us telling us not to worry because he is here to save us it's like having a big brother who says I've got your back remember

when Moses was leading the is Israelites out of Egypt and they got to the Red Sea God made a way for them and protected them from the Egyptians that's how God Saves us too moving forward Psalm 35:4 let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt this verse hopes that the people who are trying to make us sad or hurt us will realize they are wrong and stop it's like when someone realizes that stealing or lying is bad and

they feel sorry about it a lesson from the story of Jonah is that even the people of Nineveh who were making bad choices changed their ways when they realized it was wrong God wants everyone to choose what's right continuing on Psalm 35:5 let them be as chaff before the wind and let the angel of the Lord chase them this verse is like saying May the bad intentions people have against us be blown away like tiny pieces of straw in the wind and make God's angels chase them away just like when you blow on a dandelion

and its seeds scatter In The Wind in the Bible Angels protected Daniel in the Lion's Den even when things looked scary God sent his angels and Daniel was safe next up Psalm 35:6 let their way be dark and slippery and let the angel of the Lord persecute them imagine someone who is not being nice trying to walk on a path that's really dark and slippery it's hard for them to keep going this verse is asking for God's help to stop those who want to harm us think about when the Egyptians were chasing the Israelites and

they got stuck in the Red Sea their path became impossible to continue which shows how God protects his people moving on psalm 35:7 for without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit which without cause they have died for my soul this is saying that sometimes people try to trap us or trick us into making mistakes even when we haven't done anything wrong it's like setting a trap for someone just because they can an example is when Joseph's brothers were jealous and threw him into a pit Joseph hadn't done anything wrong but

his brothers were mean to him anyway yet God had a bigger plan for Joseph proceeding Psalm 35 vers 8 let Destruction come upon him at unawares and let his net that he hath hid catch himself into that very destruction let him fall this verse hopes that people who set traps for others end up getting caught in their own traps it's like when someone digs a hole to trap someone else but then falls into it themselves a good example is Hond from the story of Esther he planned to hurt morai and the Jewish people but in

the end he was caught in his own trap this shows that doing bad things to others can backfire and so Psalm 35:9 and my soul shall be joyful in the Lord it shall rejoice in his salvation after all these requests for protection this verse is about feeling really happy and thankful to God for keeping us safe it's like feeling the joy of winning a game because you know someone was there helping you all along the story of The Prodigal Son shows us how joyful it is to be welcomed back and safe the son made bad

choices but when he came back his father was so happy that's how God feels about us moving on Psalm 35:10 all my bones shall say Lord who is like unto thee which deliver the poor from him that is too strong for him yay the poor and the needy from him that spoth him this is like saying God you are so amazing because you help those who can't help themselves it's like seeing someone standing up for a friend who is being bullied David fought Goliath to protect his people even though Goliath was much stronger this teaches

us that with God's help we can stand up to Big challenges moving on Psalm 35:1 false Witnesses did rise up they laid to my charge things that I knew not imagine someone telling stories about you that aren't true blaming you for things you didn't do it's like being accused of taking a cookie from the cookie from the cookie jar when you didn't in the Bible Daniel was falsely accused by others because they were jealous even though it wasn't true Daniel kept trusting God moving on Psalm 35:12 they rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling

of my soul this means that even when we are nice to others sometimes they are mean to us it's like sharing your toys but then someone breaks the them on purpose Joseph was very good to his brothers but they still treated him badly despite this Joseph chose to be kind later on showing that being good is always the right choice next up Psalm 35:13 but as for me when they were sick my clothing was sackcloth I humbled my soul with fasting and my prayer returned into my own bosom even when people were mean the psalmist

still cared for them and prayed for them it's like when you make a card for someone who is unkind to you when they are sick the story of Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who are not nice to us this teaches us to be kind even when it's hard continuing on Psalm 35:14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother I bowed down heavily as one that mourneth for his mother this verse shows us to treat everyone with kindness like they are our close friends or family

even when they don't treat us the same way it's like being nice to someone who hasn't been very friendly the story of the Good Samaritan teaches us to help others no matter who they are this shows the importance of caring for everyone moving forward Psalm 35:15 but in M adversity they rejoiced and gathered themselves together yay the objects gathered them M themselves together against me and I knew it not they did tear me and cease not sometimes when we are having a hard time people might be happy about it instead of helping it's like when

someone laughs instead of helping you up when you fall Jesus faced this when he was on the cross people mocked him but he forgave them teaching us about forgiveness and love on to the next Psalm 35:16 with hypocritical mockers and Feasts they nashed upon me with their teeth this is like being teased or laughed at by others who pretend to be friends but are not really it's like when someone pretends to be nice in front of teachers but is mean when they're not looking in the story of Job his friends were not very supportive when

he was facing troubles we learned that true friends should be kind and supportive continuing Psalm 35:1 17 Lord how long wilt thou look on Rescue my soul from their destructions my darling from the Lions here it's like asking God when will you help me it's like feeling scared and asking for help because you know you can't do it alone Daniel was literally saved from Lions when he was thrown into their den because he trusted God this teaches us that God hears us when we call for help preceding Psalm 35:18 I will give thee thanks in

the great congregation I will praise thee among much people after asking for help this verse is about promising to thank God in front of everyone when he helps us it's like saying thank you to someone who helped you in front of the whole class King David danced and praised God in front of all the people when the Ark of the Covenant was brought to Jerusalem this shows us we should openly thank God for his blessings next Psalm 35: 19 let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully Rejoice over me neither let them wink with the

eye that Hate Me Without a Cause this verse is asking God to not let those who are mean for no reason have the chance to be happy about our troubles it's like asking for help so bullies don't get the joy of seeing us upset Jesus said blessed are you when people insult you because of me he teaches us that even if people are mean to us for no reason we are blessed for standing with him moving on psalm 35:20 for they speak not peace but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the

land this means some people don't want to be peaceful instead they make plans to cause trouble for those who are just living their lives quietly it's like plotting to disturb someone who is just reading a book peacefully Nehemiah faced opposition when rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem despite the plots against him he completed his task by staying focused and trusting God next up Psalm 35:21 yeah they opened their wide their mouth against me and said ahaha r i hath seen it this is like someone saying I caught you even when you haven't done anything wrong it's

like being accused of making a mess that you didn't make when Jesus was accused by the Pharisees they often used false accusations yet Jesus remained calm and wise showing us how to respond to false accusations continuing Psalm 35:22 this thou Hast seen oh Lord keep not silence oh Lord be not far from me this verse is like telling God you see everything please don't be quiet help me it's asking God not to stay away when we need him when Peter walked on water towards Jesus he started sinking because of fear he cried out to Jesus

who immediately reached out to help him this teaches us that God is always near to help on to the next Psalm 35:23 stir up thyself and awake to my judgment even unto my cause my God and my Lord here it's like asking God to get ready and help us because we need him it's like calling for a teacher when you need help with a problem Moses asked God to show his power when leading the Israelites out of Egypt God responded by performing Miracles showing he is always ready to help us proceeding Psalm 35:4 judge me

oh Lord my God according to thy righteousness and let them not rejoice over me this means means asking God to decide what's right and not to let those who are mean be happy about our troubles it's like asking someone to make a fair decision in a game Solomon showed wisdom when he made a fair judgment between two women claiming to be a baby's mother this teaches us about the importance of fair judgment next Psalm 35:25 let them not say in their hearts ah so would we have it let them not say we have swallowed him

up this verse asks God to not let our enemies be happy thinking they have defeated us it's like hoping that those who want to see us fail don't get their way when the disciples were persecuted they kept spreading Jesus teachings their resilience shows that even when people want to silence us the truth cannot be swallowed up moving forward Psalm 35:26 let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that Rejoice at M hurt let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me this is asking God to make those who are happy

about our pain feel embarrassed instead it's like when someone who cheats in a game ends up losing when hmon plotted against morai he ended up being the one disgraced this story shows that those who wish bad upon others often face their own downfall continuing Psalm 35: 27 let them shout for joy and be glad that favor my righteous cause yeah let them say continually let the Lord be magnified which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant this verse says that those who support what's right should be happy and praise God because he likes it

when his followers are doing well it's like cheering for a friend who wins a race the story of Jonathan supporting David against Saul's plans shows us the joy in supporting what is right and seeing God's plans succeed and finally Psalm 35:28 and my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long this is a promise to talk about how great and fair God is all the time it's like telling everyone about a hero who saved the day when Paul and Silas were in prison they sang praises to God their faith
