[Music] Chapter three of Frankenstein recounts how for two years Victor was a dedicated and determined to chemistry student he made speedy progress and was vigorously engaged in his research during this time he did not go home even for visits he was especially interested in studying the human body what caused life so not creepy at all he dug up corpses from the cemetery to experiment on after a lot of hard work he had a breakthrough and discovered the source of life he hoped that in no time he would be able to bring dead corpses back to
life even though he realized the danger in having this knowledge he pressed on at this time Victor breaks the narration and warns Walton not to pursue unbounded ambition continuing the story Victor recounts how he built a giant man shaped creature about eight feet tall from scavenged body parts he explains how he had hoped to create a new species that would look at him as their Creator during this time he ignored everyone at school the beauty of nature and stopped answering letters to his family Frankenstein has come to symbolize those who foolishly trade integrity for power
and success in addition Victor's wish to create a species that view him as a god parallels the sins central to Paradise Lost trying to acquire more knowledge than nature allows eating the forbidden fruit and trying to play God as Satan dies you
