Hey there, and welcome to our live stream. Whether you're watching from home, on the go, or somewhere in between, we're glad you're here. At Harmony Hill, our mission is simple: awakening people from death to life in Christ.
And we believe that begins with moments just like this—coming together to worship, to hear God's word, and to take steps toward Jesus. If this is your first time with us, or you're looking for a way to get connected, we'd love to hear from you. You can visit our website, scan the QR code on the screen, or send us a direct message, and we'll be in touch.
Today's services include worship through song, biblical teaching, and a chance to reflect on what God is doing in your life. So get comfortable, grab a Bible, and prepare your heart. We're glad you're with us.
Welcome to worship on the hill. > > [Music] > > Good morning, church. How's everybody this morning?
All right. Am I supposed to be here now? I'm just trying to figure out if I'm supposed to be here yet or not.
> > [Laughter] > > It's good to see everybody this morning. My name is Jeff Little, and I'm one of the lay pastors here on the hill, and we're glad you're here this morning. It's good to be together.
It's good to worship the Lord. My wife and I co‑lead a men's and women's group on Wednesday nights and on Sunday mornings. I also co‑lead a men's group here on the hill, so that's a little bit about me.
We have this next‑steps card in the seat back in front of you. If you're a guest here, if it's your first time and you've never filled one of these out, we'd really appreciate it if you'd fill one out. You can place it in the offering bag on your way out the door, or better yet, you can take it across to the next‑step area just on the other side of the mall, and we have a gift for you.
We'd like to give you a gift, but either way, we're certainly glad that you're here. In order to stay connected, there are a few ways you can do that. You can look in the bulletin, you can look at the church app, or you can visit us at harmonyhill.

church for the latest updates and events. Now, let's join together in worship. Good morning, church.
So glad to see every one of you here. You're where you're supposed to be today—where God said that where two or more are gathered in My name, there I will be also. Any of y'all fought any battles this week?
Have you fought a battle in your life? You know, it's hard just to get up sometimes, isn't it? My goodness, that's a battle.
But you know what? The battle we face—our God is in control. In heavenly armor we will enter the land.
The battle belongs to the Lord. Let's stand together and worship our Lord today. In heavenly armor we will enter the land.
The battle belongs to the Lord. No weapon that's fashioned against us will stand. The battle belongs to the Lord, and we sing… Glory, honor, power, and strength to the Lord.
When the power of darkness comes in like a flood, the battle belongs to the Lord. He's raised up the standard, the power of His blood. The battle belongs to the Lord, and we sing glory, honor, power, and strength to the Lord.
When your enemy presses on your heart, do not fear. The battle belongs to the Lord. Take courage, my friend.
Your redemption is near. The battle belongs to the Lord, and we sing glory, honor, power, and strength to the Lord. My Jesus, I love Thee; I know that Thou art mine.
Thank you for being a singing church. It's so wonderful to hear y'all sing like that, church. What a blessing.
Let's continue. He has a name that is above every name. Sing, “Name above all names.
” He's worthy of all praise. My heart will sing—how great is our God! How great is our God!
Oh, sing with me, “How great is our God,” and all will—how great is our God. More than anything, sing it now. Amen.
Yes, go ahead and have a seat as we turn our hearts to the Lord and pray together this morning. Let's go ahead and put those prayer prompts on the screen. For the next few moments, I want to encourage you to pray two things: spend time thanking God for specific ways you saw Him at work this past week—praise Him for how He was at work in your life.
Then, ask God to help you hear Him clearly in the message today. Many of you may also want to pray for our leaders, our country, and the things happening in our world. Use the prompts, or pray as the Lord leads you, as long as you need; the choir will lead us in a few moments.
What gift of grace is Jesus, my Redeemer? There is no greater heaven now to give. He is my joy, my righteousness and freedom, my steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace.
To this I hold—my hope is only Jesus. My life is wholly bound to Him. Oh, how strange and divine!
I can see all His life, yet not I, but through Christ in me. The night is dark, but I am not forsaken, for by my side the Savior will stay. I labor on in weakness and rejoice.
For He has said that He will bring me home, day by day I know He will renew me until I stand with joy before the throne. When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat, yet not I, but through Christ in me. Good morning.
So wonderful to be in worship with you today. We are continuing our series on David, the origin story, as he goes from anointing to the throne. We're in 1 Samuel chapter 26.
If you want to follow along in your Bibles, turn to that chapter. So far we’ve seen David anointed by Samuel, slain Goliath, fled from a paranoid King Saul, and last week we saw the interlude with Nabal and Abigail—David was on the brink of sin, but Abigail’s wise words saved him. I think many of you have seen the movie *Groundhog Day* with Bill Murray.
It’s a classic story of a time loop where the main character lives the same day over and over, running into the same person repeatedly. Sometimes life feels like that—facing the same battle, the same temptation repeatedly. That’s our spiritual Groundhog Day.
In chapter 24, David had the chance to kill Saul in a cave but chose not to, cutting only a corner of his robe. In chapter 25, he was angry with Nabal, but God prevented him from taking vengeance. Now, in chapter 26, David faces the same opportunity again.
Saul and 3,000 men are camped; David and Abishai sneak in at night. Saul sleeps with his spear at his head; Abner and the army lie around him. Abishai urges David to strike, but David says, “Do not destroy the Lord’s anointed, for who can put out his hand against the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless?
” He takes Saul’s spear and water jar and leaves without harming him. The Lord has put everyone into a deep sleep, so no one awakens. Four lessons emerge: 1.
**Victory is rarely a one‑time event. ** We face daily battles—diet choices, homework, temptations—and must win repeatedly. 2.
**Don’t fight the battle alone. ** In verse 6 David asks, “Who will go down with me? ” Ahimelech stays silent; Abishai steps forward.
We need companions, discipleship groups, friends who say, “I’ll go with you. ” 3. **Build on what God has already taught you.
** David learned from the cave incident and from Nabal; he applies those principles now—don’t strike the Lord’s anointed, let God handle vengeance. 4. **Be a person of character, not just confession.
** David’s actions match his words; Saul’s apologies become lip service without heart change. As we face our own Groundhog Day of temptation, let’s stack victories, seek partners, apply God’s lessons, and grow in character. If you haven’t yet trusted Christ, come to the next‑step desk; we’d love to talk with you.
For those already following Him, let’s keep building victories by the power of the Holy Spirit. Father, thank You for Your guidance in Your word, for encouragement when we face repeated challenges, and for never abandoning us. You are with us, giving us strength for victory day after day.
We pray for victory this week, for friends who will go with us, and for godly principles that shape our character. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Thank you for joining us today.
At Harmony Hill, our mission is awakening people from death to life in Christ, and we believe God is at work in every heart, home, and screen. This journey doesn’t end with this livestream. If you’re ready to take the next step—following Jesus, getting baptized, joining a life group, or needing prayer—visit the website on the screen, scan the QR code, or send us a direct message, and a team member will reach out personally.
Wherever you are, we’re glad you joined us for worship. Have a great week.
