my name is Asa Hussein I started my career at Goldman Sachs and I've helped hundreds if not thousands of students break into the industry and what I want to talk to you about today is how I've helped these students break into 50 60 70k plus annual salary roles across the US UK and all over the place and the step-by-step process I'm currently using to help students secure spring weeks internships and graduate scheme offers so if that's of interest to you stick around and let's get straight into today's video initially what I do when I coach
people one to one is get them to fill out an onboarding form this is essentially a form that tells me everything I need to know about them their current situation how good they feel they are at creating a CV cover letter their current experience all of these things so I get a holistic overview of their position once I do that we basically prioritize five things CV cover letter their personal story and then interview practice and online assessments or tests once these are all in check then it comes down to the next stage which is applying
to firms and actually getting interviews preparing for them and smashing them so the first thing is CV review I look at the candidate CV and I try and assess all right where can we make things better how can we improve things and nine times out of 10 every CV I receive I can improve it dramatically because uh they haven't followed the standard structure you can see a CV template in the second link below for free I've got tons of templates check those out those are just click the link and you get access to them I
go through the CV and I amend it I make changes so that's one second thing is the cover letter the cover letter is going to constantly change so every single role let's say I've got a candidate that interested in Asset Management every single role we apply to or or I help them apply to to Asset Management it's their their covet is going to change we're going to tailor it and tweak it to the uh respective firm so if they're applying to Goldman Sachs we're going to tweak it to Goldman Sachs if they apply to JP
Morgan we're going to tweak it to JP Morgan specifically the asset management businesses if they apply to a niche asset management firm we're going to tweak it for that and we use chat GPT we use my existing knowledge I do research online all of these things to help create a custom high quality cover letter and a CV for these applic ations so that's the CV and the cover lay what I also get them to do is so I run a online community there's a paid one and a free one you should go check out the
free one it will be in the third link in the video description in that Community there's different courses and modules they get access to the paid Community career guides all of that for free as part of the package right they are basically going to do these various modules to get their knowledge up to speed so what I get them to do is go for a module called crafting your story this module is very important cuz every interview that you go to the interviewer is likely going to ask you tell me a bit about yourself and
if you don't know how to answer that you're just going to start the interview on the wrong foot tell me a bit about yourself is very important and the way to answer it is you talk them through your story a bit about your background what was the pivotal moment that made you interested or gave you the awareness to discover this world or finance and that pivotal moment that made you decide you know what I want to work in this industry and then after that pivotal moment what did you go and do so I get them
to craft their story they send it to me and then I review it refine it improve it and then we go back and forth I have them present their answer to me in a mock inter interview style question and answer session and then we just work back and forth and mold that story so it's perfect once they have that answer perfected that essentially takes care of part of their motivational reasons for applying to the industry we also figure out what is this candidate interested in some candidates or some students and grads they don't know what
area they want to go into so I help them figure that out and a big part of figuring that out is going through the knowledge modules in the online community so my case framework knowledge application contingency and execution so know you need the base knowledge of the different divisions areas of Finance front office back office we help you develop the knowledge around all of that once you have a strong grasp and understanding of all of that knowledge Asset Management Investment Banking sales and trading operations legal accounting whatever once you know all of that to a
high standard then it makes going into applications and interviews a lot easier so I prepare you for all of that so the a in case k a knowledge application application is about getting application ready CV ready cover letter ready crafting your story perfecting online tests so getting the right practice in so online tests aren't going to hinder your chances of getting interviews C in case is contingency so creating a backup plan I work with students and graduates for six month periods the first three months I say 6 months but the focus is three months really

hours and we do that and I basically prepare each person so they have the knowledge to break into the industry they Ace the online tests and they feel comfortable they are consistently and constantly applying to firms we have a Tracker and all the deadlines upcoming all the opportunities all of that interview practice competency questions motivational questions technical questions so on and so forth back and forth and literally once you have the CV the cover letter the motivational questions the story why you the pivotal moment all of that then you start applying to firms then you
get interviews for High View interview for in person assessment centers we practice that oneon-one and then before you know it you'll be landing offers now the key thing here is all of this everything I'm talking about you can probably find it scattered all over the Internet you can probably do it all yourself but the key thing is 99.9% of you or students and graduates won't be able to do it all because they lack the guidance of what thing to do step-by step what's the next thing you need to do next thing you need to do
best next thing you need to do so on and so forth so they lack the guidance and two it's accountability you need someone to hold you accountable to make sure you're doing the right thing at the right time when you say you're going to do it that's my job basically to hold you accountable and guide you and give you that unlimited mock interview practice so you can go and smash offers and break into the industry that's basically how I'm helping students and graduates break into the industry and Lear 50 60 70k plus jobs if you're
