the dead Seas receding at an alarming rate multiple canals and pipelines were proposed to reduce its recession and though the dangers have been known for years little has been done on the ground something remarkable happened to me last week I was deep in study preparing for a weekend retreat focused on the Book of Ezekiel when a friend sent over some intriguing news about another sign suggesting that Jesus's return may be closer than we think one of ezekiel's well-known prophecies often viewed as symbolic rather than literal might actually be on the verge of coming true just
as he foretold 2,600 years ago before we dive in take a moment to subscribe to the channel by subscribing you'll stay connected and won't miss out on more fascinating insights like these now back to it as I was saying the Dead Sea a unique and significant site lying between Israel and Jordan holds a prominent place in the Old Testament this area is not only famous for the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls one of the oldest manuscripts of the Hebrew Bible but it's also close to the Jordan River believed to be the site of Jesus's baptism in
the Book of Ezekiel 47 Ezekiel describes a vision of the Dead Sea transformed from its lifeless salty State into fresh waters brimming with life he prophesied there shall be a very great multitude of fish because these Waters shall come thither for they shall be healed and everything shall live wither the river cometh Ezekiel continues it shall come to pass that the Fishers shall stand upon it from ened even unto enim they shall be a place to spread forth Nets their fish shall be according to their kinds as the fish of the great sea exceeding many
another Prophet who mentions the Dead Sea is Zechariah who Echoes a similar Vision centuries after Ezekiel Zechariah who received this word from God foretold that Living Water would flow through the region transforming its salty Waters into fresh ones the Bible also tells us that the Dead Sea area wasn't always a desolate place it was once Lush and full of life you can still catch a glimpse of this transformation today when rain falls in the Dead Sea region the desert briefly bursts into a colorful carpet of flowers this area changed dramatically only after God's judgment on
Sodom and Gomorrah when fire and brimstone turned it into the Wast land we know now and the Dead Sea became a hypersaline lake however in the Messianic era after Humanity turns back to God the Dead Sea region will be restored to its former Beauty despite being called Dead this area is truly a treasure for Israel and Jordan even the devil isn't here remarked asak aluza a water management and environment engineer as he walked across the dry cracked Earth where the Dead Sea once stood the ground crunches and breaks underfoot like old tiles revealing the Steep
price both Jordan and Israel are paying for the sink holes that have appeared as the water level recedes yet Against All Odds life has now emerged at the Dead Sea fresh water has started flowing into the area Reviving this part of the rift valley that has been Barren since the days of Sodom and Gomorrah known for its extreme salinity about 33% salt the Dead Sea famously lets people float effortlessly on its surface but recently freshwater fish have been spotted swimming in the sink holes forming around the Sea's shrinking Shoreline this new life was foretold in
Ezekiel 47 while exiled in Babylon around 597 BC the prophet Ezekiel envisioned a river flowing from the temple in Jerusalem running down toward the Dead Sea wherever this River flowed it brought life with it filling the waters with fish like those found in the Mediterranean Ezekiel describes a powerful Vision he said to me this water flows toward the Eastern region and goes down into the arabah the Jordan Valley where it enters the Sea the Dead Sea when it empties into the sea the water there becomes fresh swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river
flows there will be large numbers of fish because this water flows there and makes the salt water Fresh So Where the River Flows everything will live fishermen will stand along the shore from nadii to NM there will be places for spreading Nets the fish will be of many kinds like the fish of the great sea the Mediterranean Ezekiel 47:8 to10 this vision is part of a section in ezekiel's book that speaks of the future restoration of Israel both to their Homeland and to God the resurrection of the Dead Sea reflects a coming age when Israel's
fortunes long neglected and persecuted will be transformed today we're seeing glimpses of this transformation as Israel emerges as a significant player on the world stage with a thriving economy driven by remarkable Innovation at the same time a growing number of people believe Jesus is the long promised Jewish Messiah this aligns with the prophecy that when the Jewish people return from the Nations where they were scattered they'll be given a new heart and be spiritually cleansed just as the Dead Sea will be renewed and sprinkled clean Ezekiel 36 : 24-26 it's happening just as Ezekiel foretold
the freshwater life reappearing along the shores of the Dead Sea might not yet be the full realization of ezekiel's remarkable Vision but it's certainly a sign of what's to come every prophecy in scripture will be fulfilled precisely and ezekiel's Visions are no exception nearly 3/4 of ezekiel's predictions and 81% of Bible prophecies overall have already come true with astonishing accuracy take for instance ezekiel's prophecy about the fall of Ty a bustling Port City in the Eastern Mediterranean Ezekiel for told that Ty would be destroyed its ruins cast into the sea and that the bare rock
Left Behind would be a place where fishermen would spread their Nets Ezekiel 26 this has never happened to any other City past or present when Alexander the Great marched toward Ty its residents escaped to a nearby Island confident that Alexander had an army but no Navy undeterred Alexander ordered every piece of the ruined City to be used to build a Causeway to the island ultimately leading to tires defeat exactly as Ezekiel had prophesied today you can still see Fisherman's Nets drying on the bare rock of old Tire while the modern city sits on the island
its Shoreline altered by Alexander's Causeway if it's in the Bible you can believe it will come to pass we can find reassurance in knowing that God is set to return to his holy city at the end of ezekiel's book we're told Jerusalem will be called the Lord is there a beautiful promise the the Bible's final chapter in Revelation also describes a River of Life flowing from God's Throne symbolizing the renewal that will come in the days before the second coming this theme of life from the dead applies both to Israel Romans 11:15 and to the
coming of the Messiah we're living in times that could well bring about the return of Our Lord let's stay alert and prayerful so we and our love loved ones are ready for what's to come
