what's going on guys Josh Bok here now on this channel we've covered deep seek R1 many different times and we've also covered quen 2. 5 Max and it really seems China is accelerating things very quickly in the AI race in the open source space as well and you can see that we went over how to use deep seek R1 and tools like NN and cursor with Gro Gro released their dis steal llama 70b which is definitely powerful on their fast inference chips we cover deep seek R1 in bolt. DIY and open source AI coding agent as well as yesterday we covered how codium integrated deep seek R1 into wind serve to allow tool calling function calling within their AI agent Cascade which is extremely powerful as well now of course you can use the Deep seek chat to go ahead and test talking to deep seek you know turning on deep seek R1 or search of course the trade-off is that you will be giving your data to China of course but you can also use it through their own API which like I said is in but we've also covered different ways to use it as well such as open router and you can see the trending model here in number one is of course deep seek R1 but if we go ahead and look at Deep seek R1 on here we can see that there's many different providers we got nebas we got featherless we got together AI fireworks um some of these that aren't currently working you can see users have reported to graded quality or temporarily dranked so you can see deep seek actually because they've been getting so much traffic deep infra Avon so at the time of watching this you may or may not be able to get it to work with some of these different providers here now the good thing with using it with tools like together AI or fireworks is that it is hosted in the US so personally I would recommend that if you are using sensitive data Maybe company data or whatever data you're actually using don't just use it on the Chinese hosted models because that data will be in their hands um now keep in mind as well this is deep seek R1 free so open router does have a free version now it will be a bit slower um if we scroll down to see what apps are using deep seek R1 the most through open router we can see we have a huge list here open web UI AER um we got silly Tavern Klein and we also now have Rue code now if you're not familiar with Rue code it was previously called Rue Klein and it is a fork of Klein and in today's video I'm going to show you how you can use deep seek R1 in the most efficient way with Rue code previously called Rue Klein which is an open- Source coding AI agent which is extremely powerful and they even came up with some recent updates that went with their name change that we're going to go over in today's video so without Ado let's dive right into it all right guys so all links covered in today's video will be linked down below if you're not familiar with Rue code I'll give you a quick overview here Rue code is an AI powered autonomous coding agent that lives in your editor so it's a VSS code extension you can download it here on the vs code Marketplace or once you open vs code or cursor so it can communicate in natural language read and write files directly in your workpace multi-file editing run terminal commands automate browser actions just like Klein if you're familiar with Klein integrate with open AI compatible or custom API models adapt its personality and capabilities through custom modes which is really cool so I'm not going to go over every little single nitty-gritty feature from R code if you're not familiar with that go check out Rin where I go a little bit more in depth I'm mainly going to be going over some of their new features that they dropped in some of their latest releases like 3.
3 3. 2 3. 1 a bunch of different releases that they've been pumping out and you may be wondering why are people using R code opposed to Klein kle is the official one now I want to just say I love Klein I've done many different videos on Klein and you know the Founder's been working really really hard on that and of course rot code is a fork of that so they would realistically be nothing if it weren't for Klein to at least start out but a lot of people who are using Klein on a consistent basis noticed at the start there were so many different updates coming week after week and lately they tended to slow down a bit but R code is a fork that essentially has been has been pumping out updates very very quickly you can check out their change log right here and it will show you the granular bullet points of the new features that are being added in and you can see that it's even giving a shout out to the people that are either recommending them or whatnot and there is a bunch of different updates pumping out like there's so many updates since I actually last did a video on this which wasn't even too long ago you can see that it has all these updates here with r code and I did a video when it was actually still called rline so just to highlight some of these before we dive into it so the new 3.
3 code actions more powerful modes and a new Discord so so ruko now integrates directly with VSS codee's native code Action System providing quick fixes and refactoring options right in your editor look for the light bulb to access rot codes capabilities without switching context enhanced mode capabilities so markdown editing addressing one of the most requested features ask and architect modes can now create an edit markdown file files custom file restrictions so in general custom modes can now be restricted to specific file patterns for example a technical writer who who can only edit markdown files there's no UI for this yet but who needs that one you can just ask Rue to set it up for you self-initiated mode switching so modes can intelligently request to switch between each other based on the task at hand for instance code mode might request a switch to test engineer mode once it's ready to write tests this is powerful because it can be like agents on your team literally handing off different tasks to other agents now if you're using this on a consisted basis definitely join their Discord so you can stay up to date with these updates and then in their 3. 2 update they introduce custom modes plus rebranding from rine to rot code so they say our biggest update is here yet we're officially changing our name from rine to rot code after growing Beyond 50,000 installations across VSS Marketplace and open vsx ready to start our own course our heartfelt Thanks goes to everyone at clein Community who helped us reach this Milestone custom modes to mark this new chapter we're we're introducing the power to shape R code into any role you need you can now create an entire team of Agents with deeply customized prompts QA agents who write thorough test cases and catch edge cases product managers who excel at user stories and feature prioritization uiux designers who craft beautiful accessible interfaces code reviewers who ensure quality and maintain ability the best part is that Rue can help you create these new modes just type create a new mode for in the chat to get started and go into the prompts tab or carefully edit the Json representation to customize the prompt and allow tools to your liking all right there's even more updat since I last did a video on this like you could see chat modes like code architect as we're going to dive into these shortly but I'm just going to go ahead and show you how to actually start using R code as well as using it with deep seek R1 now you can just go to download on vs code Market place and one thing I will say it's really cool with the open source Community how you could essentially just Fork an open source tool and you could build a community around it if you add enough value with different updates and whatnot and it can actually turn into something that has its own course like Rue code from Rue Klein or or bolt. DIY from autod Dev or bolt.
DIY and autod Dev so it's really cool to see but anyways you're just going to go ahead and click on install now instead of vs code I'm just going to go ahead and use cursor so you could also just simply go over to your extensions here type in Rue code and then boom you can go ahead and install it right here once you have R code set up it is going to look like this all right so all right so let's just go over some of these features real quick before we go ahead and use deep seek so just like if you're familiar to Klein you can go ahead and toggle this up here and select auto approv so this is going to allow it to Auto approve certain actions like read files and directories edit files execute approv commands use the browser which is very powerful use mCP servers which is definitely really cool I'm not going to dive into this too much in this video but if you're not familiar with mCP servers I did mention it in my other R client video or you could just search up mCP servers switch modes and create tasks so this will allow automatically switching between different AI modes and creating new tasks without required approval this is pretty cool this can be your own team of AI agents and then retry failed task next we can go up here to prompts and you can see you can select your preferred language you can add custom instructions for all AI modes so these instructions apply to all the different modes they provide a base behavior that can be enhanced by mode Specific Instructions okay instructions can also be loaded from a docine rules file in your workspace so just like how cursor has do cursor rules clein has rot code has cleine rules right here all right and then here is the mode specific prompts so you can hit the plus button right here to create a custom mode yourself or you can edit it in the Json right here or just ask Ru in chat to create one for you which is pretty cool so you can see we got in a few examples here such as codes so definitions you can see uru a highly skilled software engineer with extensive knowledge in many programming languages Frameworks design patterns and best practices we got architect so software architecture expert right as well and then simply just create the mode you can see API configurations available tools mode specific custom instructions we also have support prompts so enhance prompt explain code fix issues uh improve code and you can see the prompt right here if you want to make any adjustments you can do so we have our history up here which shows us of course how much tokens we're using and the API cost and then if you go to settings right here you can actually load different configuration profiles which is pretty cool you can add new profiles rename them delete them and then your API providers so of course we can use open router we can use deep seek we can use ol llama so if you're hosting deep seek locally you could use oama or LM studio all right so if we go ahead to deep seek API provider enter in our key you'll see that it does not support images computer use or prom catching but we could use deep seek chat which is V3 or deep seek Reaser which we're going to use now for our prompt I'm asking it to create a CRM application that looks modern with with impressive features I'm going to go ahead and click on set now you could also click on this star icon which will enhance the prompt I'm not going to do this right now cuz sometimes it adds too much like backend stuff and whatnot we're just going to go ahead and click Send all right so you will see the reasoning right here going ahead and this is the thinking process with deep seek R1 which makes it so powerful so it's still going right here it's been reasoning for probably about 15 seconds now and then boom it's getting started on creating its actual response so we can see a little bit here okay the user wants to create a basic CRM app with that looks modern and impressive with features let me break down what they need and it's going over what a CRM typically means going over through all the different potential Tex Stacks it may require such as Tailwind material UI okay so here is the response I need to create a modern CRM app structure since the current directory is empty I'll start by setting up some core files the CRM should include responsi design with clean UI contact management interactive tracking search functionality local store for data persistence it's going over the text stack it we'll use the key files that are needed now as you can see there is some different API request we're getting some errors here uh it wanted to switch to code mode because it wants to have the editing capabilities to create the CRM application so I created a file here I think it's a bit slow right now through the Deep seek API so I'm actually going to go ahead and switch it to open router you go to open router here you will see that you can enter in your API key right here and you can go ahead and select the model so I'm going to go ahead and search for deep seek and you'll see here we have many options from R1 R1 distill llama quen different parameter ones right here and then we have deep seek R1 free and deep seek R1 Nitro so we could go ahead and use deep seek R1 free and this would be 100% for free now so I'm going to go ahead and continue the task right here and we're going to start generating this app 100% for free and you can see it's actually not too slow it you know it's not as fast as the non-free one but you can see okay let's see the user wants to create a basic CRM application with modern features first all attempt to do this after successfully switching to code mode I proceeded to do this now let's now let's do this and it is currently creating the styles. css file right here okay so we got an error here I think it's due to the free version so I'm going to go ahead and use the normal version all right so you can see we create a styles.
