Constantly move, get the frag. Find the next target. The key is not to camp.
You have to take strong positions. Hello everyone, I'm donk from Team Spirit. And in today's ZOWIE Esports Academy, I'll be sharing tips on how to practice Deathmatch.
For me, the most effective way to train in Deathmatch is, to skip the usual warm-up routine. I use FACEIT match as my warm-up. My goal is, to play Deathmatch only after I'm already warmed up.
This is the most efficient method for me. Because if I just warm up directly in DM, certain habits will carry over into my actual matches. The muscle memory you build during that warm-up stage, will be what you use in an official game.
I've learned from the mistake of playing DM without warming up first. When I went to play FACEIT afterward, I couldn't frag at all. Because I was already used to the Deathmatch pace, which is completely different from a real match.
The core of DM is to practice 1v1 duels. I have a few specific spots I use just for this practice. For example, places like CT Spawn.
I'm constantly moving, peeking angles, and looking for 1v1 dueling opportunities. Inevitably, you'll run into multiple people in some spots, but that's also something you need to practice. Constantly move, get the frag, find the next target.
The key is not to camp. You have to take strong positions, and create dueling opportunities. Maximize the effectiveness of your 1v1 practice.
Server quality is also very important. The spawns need to be reasonable. It's really just a matter of habit.
I'm very comfortable playing on this specific server. If I switch to another server, I can't adapt. Maintain natural mouse movement.
Just keep it consistent with your real matches. Nothing else matters. Use the same movement style you use in an official game.
And practice your headshots this way. Another important part of DM is to play with sound on. Use sound to judge the enemy's general location.
Practice how to peek based on audio cues. Rely on your hearing to pinpoint them. Also, I think you need to pay attention to your headshot rate.
You need at least 90% headshots. Anything below that is not good enough. That's all for today.
