There was a grounder that took a >> [music] >> took a bad hop and uh hit me in my throat, which damaged some nerves in my vocal cords. Ex- Ex- Excuse me. I felt angry about it at at first. I started to like write down all my frustrations on like a a napkin [music] in the hospital. My girlfriend um encouraged me to try Just

talking about [music] those those things on stage and I started to do comedy as a way of like I [music] guess cope coping with it. I don't know. I was I was I was feel better after you talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk to me. >> [laughter] >> The person I was >> [music] >> I was before would probably never hang out with with Who I am today. I thought people were lucky if they got to [music] talk talk to me. And uh I was a jerk. I feel a lot of res responsibility

to show show show show people [music] that you can turn any anything into into into a positive. How did a softball cause a stutter? >> Uh well, I I guess you're not sup- supposed to supposed to go to sleep on a concussion, but I I know that I know that now. >> [laughter] >> Learn. >> live and you live and you learn and uh Are you in a relationship? Do you have a girlfriend or Yeah, I I I hope so. Hope she's here. And is she supportive of your stand-up career? >> No. No. No, she's

not supportive. No, I Mean I mean she she she's a uh supportive. Trying to get emotional. She she took uh she took she took on three jobs so so I could I I could pursue I could pursue this. Wow. That's why I'm here, but I've come along some some people who don't think they think that. Like I did a show show one time where where where a guy stood up and said like Hey, [laughter] You you you can't just make fun of disabilities just just cuz you you have have one. I was I was like I was like Well, did Did Did Did I Did I I stutter? THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN THEN Then you guys said so [cheering] so so so much. is definitely with you, Drew. >> [cheering] >> You know, it is such a hard thing to get up on a stage when you've got everything going for you and everything's clear. And to go up there with your situation and to pull this off and to get the crowd with you is almost impossible. So, I along with the audience applaud you for that. So, you never know, you might be the winners of Britain's Got Talent this year. Bring Him Home is a very, very personal song to me and my family. About nearly 6 years ago, my older brother took sick from a brain injury and he's here today. But um he was he was left with a condition called locked-in syndrome. Right. Which Basically means he can't he's trapped inside his own body and the only thing
