But most Christians don't have what they want in life cuz they'll never ask for it. You keep doing it your way, but the Bible says you have not cuz you ask not. It's real simple.

It ain't no magic trick. Our father was a coal miner. Then we moved to Cleveland, he was a construction worker.

He taught me one thing. He said, "Son, they can outrun you, they can outdance you, they can outdress you, they can outsing you, they can outthrow you, they can outtalk you, but don't you let no man living outwork you. " And that's how I live.

And I don't care who you are, you're not going to outwork me. You're not going to outgrind me. My grind is real.

You can't outgrind me. I'm going to I'm going to grind harder than anybody. I get up before everybody I know.

I stay up later than anybody I know. I work more jobs than anybody I know. I try harder than anybody I know.

It's effort, man. Now, without the faith, it doesn't matter. Because I am what I am.

There's a scripture that I live by uh 1 Corinthians uh 15:10. But by the grace of God, I am what I am. And God's grace was not without effect on me.

And even though I worked harder than them all, it was not I, but God's grace that was with me. That's how I live my life. That's it.

Cuz you know you hear old people say you make one step, he'll make two. But the thing is you got to give God something to put his finger on. He'll touch it for you, but you got to give him something to touch.

So you can't ask God for a job and then just sit at the house and don't put in no application nowhere. Anybody going to walk up, ring your doorbell, give you no job? You got to get out there, beat the pavement a little bit, get online, send some jobs out.

Faith without works is dead. If you you know, y'all people kill me. Go to church, memorize all these scriptures, don't apply none of them.

Why don't you just apply some scriptures to your life? You know, cuz you got to look at it like this. I mean, really technically, I'm not coming down on anybody.

I just want to share some some real way to look at this. You shouldn't be a Christian and don't have nothing. It doesn't make any sense.

If the God you serve has all the silver and gold and all the cattle on a thousand hills, and you going to get none of that? You You're a parent. You would do anything for your children.

You would sacrifice. You'll buy them the latest shoes, the update computer cuz you don't want them at school doing without. And you just a mother and father.

Now your heavenly father got way more than you got. How you ain't getting none of that is beyond me. But most Christians don't have what they want in life cuz they'll never ask for it.

You keep doing it your way, but the Bible says you have not cuz you ask not. It's real simple. It ain't no magic trick.

God puts everything he has for you in your imagination. Albert Einstein had a quote. He said uh imagination is everything.

It's a preview to life's coming attractions. What actually happens is God puts your real life in your imagination. See, this stuff that you've been imagining is not hocus pocus.

God is showing you a preview of a coming attraction he has for you. And he puts it in your imagination. The problem with your imagination though is you tell it to the wrong people.

That's the whole problem. See, if you want to kill a big dream, tell it to a small-minded person. How many times has God showed you something so vividly clear that you just knew it was perfect?

You shared it with your loved ones and your friends and they shot it down. You know why they shot it down? Cuz they couldn't see it.

You know why they couldn't see it? Cuz God didn't show it to them. He showed it to you.

And so all these things you've been imagining has been God planting seeds in your head of what he has for you. That's why when you driving down the street and you see the car in the window, you imagine yourself driving that one instead of the one you got. Cuz that's the car God will give you.

God is in your imagination. He ain't in your paycheck. He ain't in your current set of situations.

God is in your imagination. He put I imagined at 10 that I would be on TV. Now I didn't get there till I was 38, but I got there.

Do you know all the stuff you've imagined was really God just showing you a preview of a coming attraction he has for you? People don't understand that about the imagination. School systems would teach people the truth.

Problem with school is it don't teach you how to be successful. That's the problem. College don't teach you how to be successful nor does school.

There's nothing wrong with it. If you want to be a doctor, lawyer, dentist, you got to go to school. But if you want to be successful, what you supposed to do?

You have to develop the principles of success. School teaches you how to memorize stuff. We going to test you on it and you recall what you've read and we going to give you a grade on it.

Okay, when you get that degree, how you become successful though? They don't teach you success. You teach success by changing your mental process.

The difference between successful people and non-successful people it has nothing to do with anything except how you think. That's the only difference, man. Successful people have developed the thought process.

You all You all have it. You just got to learn the principles of success. All y'all.

All of you gifted. All of you have a gift. God made you with a gift at birth.

All of you are gifted people. More gifted than me. You think cuz I'm out here I'm the gifted one?

I just got one gift. I can take information and transpose it into comedy immediately. Now that's a gift and a curse.

That's a problem when you young. That Cuz you know many times I got in trouble? Fight, get off.

You know how many times I've been to the principal's office? I've been to the principal's office, I promise you, more than all of y'all total. All right, 15, 20 times a year.

Easy. Easy. For just fighting off cuz I this gift, I couldn't fix I didn't know how to control it.

I just said what the I thought was was funny. I ain't care how you felt about it. I didn't It was displaced.

I didn't have no comedy club. I didn't have no comedy career. So I just said it.

My mom was Sunday school teacher. You know how many times my mama took me church get me prayed for? You You know how many preachers done done this to me?

Hit the heel. Soon they do this, I pop right back, ain't nothing happening. I'll be going, "Man, what is I'm coming down here getting my head hit for?

" And my mother thought something was wrong with me. Cuz I had this gift and I couldn't fix it. But all of you are gifted.

I'm telling you, I'm just waiting on them I'm just telling y'all this, you have to understand, man, that God has really great life for you. And he put it in your imagination. You just got to stop telling it to small-minded people.

How many times has God showed you something in your imagination that you thought was so wonderful? And then you took it in that to your family and your friends and you shared it with them and they shot it down. You know why they shot it down?

Cuz they couldn't see it. You know why they didn't see it? Cuz God ain't show it to them.

He showed it to you. God put it in your imagination. HE DON'T PUT IT IN OTHER PEOPLE'S IMAGINATION.

STOP TELLING YOUR VISIONS TO OTHER PEOPLE CUZ THEY'RE NOT GOING TO SEE IT. WHY YOU THINK YOU KEEP imagining opening a business? Why you keep imagining graduating, getting a better job?

Why do you keep imagining buying a house? Why do you keep imagining driving a really NICE CAR? WHY DO you keep imagining getting RICH ONE DAY?

WHY DO YOU KEEP IMAGINING THAT? Because God is talking to you. He's showing you something that he has FOR YOU.

HE PUTS IT IN YOUR IMAGINATION, MAN. SEE, God is good, man. You got to understand how good God is.

He ain't playing with you. He the real deal. He created you and then he even showed you what he got for you.

You got to start believing in your imagination. You got to start talking to him about these stuff you be seeing. But you have not cuz you ask not.

So if you see the vision, the imagination, but you don't ask God for it, what you want him to do? He showed it to you. Faith without works is dead.

So now you got to put in work. All of y'all sitting in here, you want a better life, correct? Had you Haven't you imagined a better life?

Okay, who Who you think he showed it to? He showed it to you. Why you think he showed it to you?

Cuz he want to give it to you. But if you don't work, if you don't ask him for it, he cannot give it to you because he created us with the power of choice. We make choices every day.

If you decide that you will be poor, there's nothing I can do. You going to be poor. If you decide to be rich today, who going to stop you?

Who? If you decide you want to be rich, all you got to do is start. Why not?

Who going to stop you? Unless you tell it to the wrong person. Mama, Mama, listen to me.

I'm going to be rich. Ain't nobody rich in this family. Go on there and sit out somewhere.

Get yourself a good job. Oh, Mama, you must be right. No, mama could be wrong because what you have in your imagination, God didn't show it to your mama.

I'm sorry. He showed it to you. Listen to me.

If y'all don't do nothing else, write everything you imagine down. Write it all down. Pray about it and watch what happen.

Watch what happen cuz let me tell you something. If God can fix me, you have no idea who you looking at. You have no idea what I've done.

You have no idea what I've been through. You you wouldn't even talk to me if you knew what I had to do to be here. But God is in the forgiving business.

God is in the get your life together business. God is in the turn it around business. God is in the saving business.

God did all that for me. So, I'm telling you right now, if God can fix Steve Harvey and turn him into this, I bet he can turn you into that. All right, thank y'all.

It's the belief in things that you cannot see. You can never lose faith. That's the key.

You have to believe in something that you can't see. You have to believe when you can't when you don't see no way how. YOU HAVE TO BUCKLE down and keep believing.

God is always coming. Here's the deal. The moment you ask God for something, he boxes it up and he ships it to you.

Here's the problem with the package. He never gives you the date that it's going to arrive. It's going to come.

He just don't tell you when. If he told you when, it would destroy the relationship that's required to have an abundant life, which is faith. If God told you you were going to be rich in August of 2021.

Do you know how crazy you would talk to people from now until then? Cuz you know on August 21, I'm going to be rich. But he don't tell you when the package is going to arrive.

So, here's the deal. He wants you to stay in faith to receive the package cuz he only delivers to faith street. If you step off over here to I don't see how Boulevard, he don't ship there.

If you get over here to I don't see how circle, he does not ship there. He only sends the boxes to faith street. So, when he sends it and you've done moved off faith street, the package got to go back.

It's just like UPS or the post office. If they send you a box and you ain't home, they take it back. That's how it works, man.

Let me tell y'all something. Being successful is not a magic trick. You just have to learn the principles of success.

I ain't got no degree. I got nothing like that to tell you about. I didn't finish school.

I flunked out of school. I'm on my third marriage. Lost everything I've owned twice.

Been homeless, lived in the car. I am telling you, your education ain't got nothing to do with it. Education ain't in the Bible.

Emory is not in the Bible. It ain't in there. Harvard ain't in the Bible.

Look, find it. It ain't Show me education in the Bible. No, man.

It's your dreams and visions. A man without a dream or vision shall perish. That's what the Bible is built on.

It's what God puts in your imagination for you to have. Everything God wants you to have, he puts it in your imagination. Albert Einstein said, "Imagination is everything.

It's the preview to life's coming attractions. " Everything you imagine is God showing you a preview of a coming attraction he has for you and he puts it in your imagination so you can see what he got for you. So, if you've been imagining that you going to be rich one day, it's because God wants you to be rich.

Now, when you going to ask him for it and are you going to wait for it to happen? Or are you going to lose faith? Here where Christians mess up at.

Well, I guess it wasn't the Lord's will. Who are you? How you know what God's will is?

It all happens at an appointed time, but you have to stay in faith for the appointed time to happen for you. I've been wanting to be on TV since I was 10 years old. Do you know how old I was before I got on TV?

38. 38. 28 years after I wrote it on the paper.

I want to be on TV. It took me 28 years to get on TV. But it happened at an appointed time.

I just never gave up the faith. I kept going cuz I ain't know how to quit. Cuz I know if I quit, it cannot happen.

But if you stay with it, like this dude's story right here. If you stay with it, you have no idea what can happen for you. But you got to stay with it, man.

You can't quit cuz it get hard? This dude DONE LOST HIS LEGS. HE STILL HE STILL FUNKY with it.

You can't quit CUZ SOMETHING YOU GOT YOUR LEG. What you tripping for? Your punk I'm in well, sorry about that.

You you can't quit, man. You got to stay with it. There's somebody having it way harder than you and they didn't give up.

That's inspiration. This dude is inspiration, man. I look at a cat like this.

I would like I bruised my heel. Between only between shows. I mean, I I messed it up before.

I really bruised it hard. It's so hurting right now. What I'm tripping for?

Then dude come tell me, "Hey, man, you want to go home? " Go home? I got a bruised heel.

Where I'm going to go home? I got a bruised heel. You tripping, man.

Get yourself together. GOD GOT A GREAT LIFE for you. I'm telling you, God got a plan for you that's so out of sight, it would trip you out.

All you got to do is ask him for it and wait on it and be willing to work. Faith without works is dead. That's all you got to do.

You don't need no education. I flunked out of school. Look at me.

Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates don't have a degree between the two of them. But they didn't have They got more degrees working for them than a thermometer. You know how many people I got working for me that got degrees?

Everybody I hire got a degree. Cuz I know I ain't that smart. But I got money for you.

You smart, here you go. How much you want? Dude tell me what I want.

$150,000 a year. Here you go. Man, does Steve pay me $150,000 a year?

Bro, you got what I don't have. I'm going to You going to take that 150 and help me get this billion? I got 154 billion.

How God give me this and he won't give it to you? I ain't a better Christian than you. Look at me.

I've been up here cussing. I've made mistakes. That's the type of Christian I am.

You a better Christian than me? You should You should have something to show for it. But God don't ask you for for your perfection.

He asks you for your consistency. There's none perfect, no not one. So, since ain't nobody perfect, who going to heaven?

See, the problem that people do is you get in God's way. See, you tell God what you want, then you mess up and tell him how you want him to do it. The problem is you can't tell God how to bless you.

All you got to do is write down what you want. God will give you everything you write down. I'm telling you.

It used to be a lot of stuff on here. I had to take off. You don't see no cars on here?

Cuz they all in the garage. I'm telling you. Everything I have ever put on this board eventually comes true because the scripture says this.

Write the vision and make it plain. So, that he who reads it, that's me reading it, will run to it. And even though it tarry, tarry means take a long time.

Even though it tarry, wait for it. For surely, it will come at an appointed time. You going to get it.

It's just at the appointed time. The problem is he don't ever tell you when the appointed time is. That's the trick.

You got to keep the faith. It's going to happen. See, I my first vision board I wrote when I was 10.

I didn't know it was a vision board. But a lady asked me what I want to be when I grow up. I wrote I want to be on TV.

I wrote it at 10. I kept that paper till I was 27. I read it.

I flunked out of school. I'm on my third marriage. I lost everything twice.

I've been living in a car for 3 years. But I kept reading my paper. Guess what?

I'm TV star. I'm on TV. You This how this work.

Now, I wrote it at 10. But surely it will come at an appointed time. I did not get on TV till I was 38.

But my appointed time was 38. Boy, let me tell y'all something. Y'all Y'all better hear me now.

I'm telling you this how this work. Success ain't a magic trick. It's a set of principles.

Don't matter about your education. People in here way smarter than me. People in here got way more degrees than me.

Education ain't in the Bible. The Bible says a man without a dream or vision shall perish. So, guess what?

You can't out vision me. Your key is don't let nobody out dream you and don't let nobody out work you. That's how you get the life of your dreams.

You don't need no education. Harvard ain't in the Bible. It's not in there, man.

USC ain't in the Bible. It ain't in there. All them principles of success is.

I bet you if you write it down. God's promises don't ever come back void. You know what that means?

That mean God don't say nothing he don't make true. Now, you can believe that now. This world going to end one day.

You ain't got to believe that. Jesus coming back. You ain't got to believe that.

You ain't got to. [Applause] You can say there ain't no God. You can believe that if you want to.

But guess what? Time and tide waits on no man. Ain't nothing you can do about that.

The sun come up tomorrow. You can't stop it. It go down in the evening.

You can't shut it off. The wind blowing you don't know where it come from. Cuz all that's a promise.

That's in the Bible. It go down every day. Go up there and stop the wind and see what happen to you.

You got to go see what God has for you. Because listen to me. And I was telling you this earlier.

Wherever you are right now is just temporary, young people. I'm older than most everybody in here. I'm 64 years old.

But dig this now. You You ain't You ain't going to get here without an effort. You just got to try.

I failed I failed more times than anybody in here. I promise you I have. I just failed at a couple of businesses last month.

I lost money at a couple cracks I took. But I'm invested in 25, 30 companies. 20 of them doing good.

Let me give you an example. Michael Jordan in his career has taken 946 game-winning shots. Michael Jordan has only made 134 game-winning shots.

You don't know about them misses though. But you know what they wrote about? Them 134 he made.

All you got to do is You just got to get the makes, man. You going to miss a bunch of times. The average professional baseball player goes to the plate and is successful a superstar is successful three out of 10 times.

Only three out of 10 times to the plate is he successful. They'll pay that 40 million dollars a year to go up there and be successful 30% of the time. Are you kidding me?

They don't pay you for the misses. They pay you for the hits. All you got to do is get one hit.

All you need is one hit show. One. Just one.

If you get one Let me tell you something. I got on Showtime at the Apollo. I turned that little show that came on at 2:00 in the morning.

I turned it into a hit. Do you know that they keep giving me shows? You know why?

Cuz they think that might turn this one into a hit. All you need is one hit. Every since that hit, they give me another another another bat.

Family Feud is a hit. Celebrity Family Feud is a hit. Miss Universe is a hit.

Steve Harvey Morning Show, I'm on in 112 cities, 9 million people. I'm a hit. I don't care what they do TO ME.

ALL YOU GOT TO do is get one hit. Three out of 10 in a baseball and you they pay you tens of millions of dollars. Quit trying to hit all them home runs.

You ain't going to make all home runs. You just need some base hits. You got to swing your bat though.

Get up to the plate. But you got to get in the batter's box. Get in there.

Let the hit YOU. SO WHAT? BAM!

I'M ON FIRST BASE. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] But you know, there's a reason why your hand don't go back there. There's a reason why you can't pat yourself on your back.

Cuz you ain't posted. I got God. So God gave me all this.

Do If I could have figured out how to do this, I'd have done this a long time ago. I'd have skipped over homelessness, them two divorces, flunking out of school. I'd have just made myself.

But I couldn't. I asked God for it. God gave me this.

This is God's production. I'm just the dude participating in the ride. So I stay humble cuz I know it ain't me.

Ain't no need of me getting a big head. And clearly Look, I've done nothing more to deserve this than you. You You You can't You don't deserve grace.

Grace is God's unmerited favor. He just does stuff for you. You can't buy grace.

You can't earn it. He just gives it out. I just When I pray, I ask for grace.

I don't ask for money. I ask for grace. Cuz that's what That's what sustains you in life.

You get grace, you know. I was out playing golf with an old guy that owns the Mayo Clinic. How much money he got, right?

He owns the Mayo Clinics. And we're riding and he says, "You seem like a spiritual person. I want to share something with you.

" He said Uh justice is when you get what you deserve. Mercy is when you don't get what you deserve. Grace is when you get what you don't deserve.

And that's what grace is. I just have a life I really don't I really don't deserve this. I mean, you work hard.

You work hard. You work hard and I work hard. And this the life I got?

Come on, man. That's crazy. I get to wake up in the morning and tell jokes.

And they cut me a check. If you can live your life and wake up every day doing something that ain't work and get a check for it, that's amazing. Cuz the average person has to get up and go to work.

And a lot of people got to do stuff they don't want to do. But I will tell you this though. If you're doing something you don't enjoy doing, you should quit.

You really should. You should quit. If you're doing something you don't enjoy doing You should quit.

Well, Steve, I just can't quit. Okay. Then stay there.

But you ain't going to be happy. And waking up every day not being happy, that's because you got something that burns on the inside of you that you really want to do, all of you. And if you're not doing it, what you waiting on?

You get one time around the track. You don't get to Ain't no do-overs in life. You don't get to You don't die and come back.

This it. So if you're not happy, I would rather wake up and do what I was born to do and make whatever that paid than to wake up and do what I have to do and be miserable. I would rather wake up and enjoy my life.

But you got to go have to take a jump now. When you have a massive goal, something that's big, you must first make it something that not reaching it is unacceptable. Me not being who God made me to be, me not living my dream was unacceptable for me.

Now, when you get faced with a challenge like living in your car for 3 years, what happened was I had I had a dream that was so big, my dreams were bigger than all my problems. You know what I'm saying? See, if your dreams aren't really big enough and your problems are bigger than your dreams, then your problems will be bigger than your dreams.

But if your dreams are so big, I had no problem that I was not willing to endure to get to my dream. Now, the key, you said it though, was step by step. Remember this saying, inch by inch any thing's a cinch.

Inch by inch See, so you got to set incremental goals along the way. On your way to Let's say you want to be a millionaire. But let's say you only make $5,000 a year right now.

But you want to be a millionaire. Then you have got to take whatever you did to make $5,000 and duplicate it so you can make 10. But when you make 10, that should be a minor celebration.

Then when you make 20, that should be another minor celebration. Don't stay frustrated because you haven't reached the million. Cuz it take a long time to make a million dollars.

But let's just say you making $250,000. There's another celebration you should have. So you have to enjoy the journey because the journey is not going to change.

If you wait until you reach your goal to celebrate, you going to be It's It's mentally debilitating. So you have to have monumental steps along the way. And just make inch by inch any thing's a cinch.

Set very doable goals as you're trying to reach the impossible thing. Me being a TV star from where I was was an impossible thing. And everybody told me that.

Every single body I knew told me, "That's impossible. A television star? You go work with your father and your brother.

That's for construction. " So when I was in high school, I worked construction with my father. I hated it.

I was going to do digging holes and carrying buckets of tar. I don't want to do this It's good money right here. I kept looking on TV, man.

You know, the first time I saw first time I saw a black person on TV in the United States, when he came on TV, all [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] >> Mhm.
