uh gal no the husband the husband an Yan uh it was martial law uh 77 yeah I 72 72 72 I was I was pregnant for the first time in my life and then martial law was declared so you know when you're pregnant the first time you're already scared and martial laa so I I was it was a very difficult time also for us and then my husband wrote lyrics now talking about how he felt about the times that was really lyrics martial law and the times that we were living in okay environmental concerns but
he put everything in uh in a childlike yes uh situation that's why when it was recorded see Eddie mooni was the one who arranged it Eddie Moon Sil lakai he was asking Nono how do I approach this songsri so he asked asked my husband what will I how will I how do that's why the arrangement is like that that's a nice formula simply title uh it was in my first in my second long playing album and uh what we were pushing was another song a song of ernani queno which is also a very beautiful song
but the DJs were so intrigued by the title so they started playing it so that's how it became a hit M sorito was written by Joe Maran we were doing research on your songs he at first it was he had written it to be Mr songwriter saranga Sanga I moved recording company and the recording company wanted another one that's similar to sangola te rectiv you know that is there's a budots version do you know that no no it no it's it's used in all Zumba classes ATA in the entire Metro Manila looking forward to that
now I'm going to go to the Nan queno song that that was a surprise hit for me the that was in the Same album where Sanga ni Pepe Ando where [Laughter] and pepe was already a hit so I said to myself a year later I would go I would be performing for parties or whatever and I'd be requested to do and I'd ask the audience how do you know that song I know it's being played it's being played you pal it became a I didn't even know the beauty of the song the beauty of the
lyrics why it became a hit and this is written and composed by two national artist you've been listening to the new singers today what is your assessment some of them are very very good stale of sb19 is absolutely fabulous yes and Julian uh San Jose is very very good excellent excellent so some of them were very very good uh and are very committed and very committed and very professional T because I just got to work with a lot of young people in a series and everybody was focused and committed and disciplined I was very happy
to see that uh at nly rodes uh let's talk about uh K yeah this was in 1987 my father watched one show of mine and um I I put in the song sabado that was written by my husband and and uh the audience didn't know the the song uh but the audience loveed the song because it's a good song and my father said to me uh marisel is exactly what you said to me marisel why do why are you doing covers what you should do is an original work and then I said Papa you know
the audience they feel more comfortable if they know the but look at Sab he said they like Sab it's they have never heard it before father and uh I I'm a papa's girl I'm sorry papa is National artist for visual arts Cesar legaspi okay so I said original came to us with an idea of of making something about the life of Katy de Cruz and that's when it why don't we make it an original musical an original Musical and that's what I want to do from now on I said I said to myself and and
