hello everyone, welcome to a new video I hope you are well. I'm back ! Frankly, I missed you.
I missed you because it's been a long time since I shot videos all the videos I posted during the month of August were pre-filmed, ie I had prepared the content in advance so today is August 31, I turn on my camera. The month of September, you know, is a bit like the end of summer, the start of the school year, the start of the school year, so to conclude these holidays I wanted to tell you a little bit about my summer, tell you what I did, I wanted to talk and I tell myself that this is a good opportunity for you to do oral comprehension with or without subtitles, I remind you that you can activate the subtitles in French, in English, in your language j I put Arabic, Chinese. .
. in short, you know it if you know me if you have been following me for a while I am an online French teacher, that is to say that I give French lessons on zoom, private lessons mainly so frankly it's a great job because I can give lessons from anywhere in the world, at home or elsewhere, but there is also a disadvantage is that I spend all my days in front of the screen . Already teaching requires a lot of energy but then teaching online is difficult because it requires total involvement, to transmit energy, the desire to learn, to be concentrated for many hours in fact and the energy frankly at the end of July I had none at all, it had become very difficult for me to concentrate and transmit this good energy so I decided to take a break in August and I don't know if you've noticed but I find that the older you get the more difficult it is to get bored or maybe it's also because of new technologies and social networks finally I don't know I have the impression that before I was able to get bored which is great and now I always need to be productive and it's amplified because I have my own business you have to make every minute profitable to do something useful because we can always do more and I had reached a point where I couldn't disconnect, I couldn't do things for myself, everything I did felt like it was.
. . well for my job actually and I wanted to find pleasure again to do nothing the pleasure of being bored because boredom, in my opinion, is very beneficial and it also allows me to regain creativity and to take the time to do things and to take time for myself, in short, I really needed it.
So what did I do on my vacation, I tell you about my life. The first week of August I went to the Atlantic coast the Atlantic coast is a place that I love in France because there is the ocean and the ocean it really . .
it has me really allowed me to relax because the air is fresh, the ocean is rejuvenating, invigorating I took ice cold baths. The water was 18 degrees celsius so I promise you it was a bit difficult to get in but it did me a lot of good. It was sunny, I spent time on the beach, time in the water, in short, it was super relaxing and pleasant.
The second week I went to Limousin , it's a region in the center of France and I did something I had never done. . do you know what it's called?
0:04:16. 640,1193:02:47. 295 it's called hot air ballooning I went hot air ballooning for the first time and that again was quite an interesting experience, quite scary I must say, a bit at first anyway we woke up at 4 a.
m. we took off around 6 a. m.
and then we saw the sun rise little by little so that was magical, we flew over villages, over the French countryside and there I say to myself "this country is still very beautiful". The landing was a little sporty but it was very funny it was a great experience I also spent time in Toulouse with my parents to take the time to do things that I never have time to do for example sorting through my belongings, through my clothes. Tell me if you agree with me, I find that the more objects and clothes you have, the more distressing it is.
and to get rid of a mental burden for me in any case, the fewer things I have and the lighter I feel, in any case it did me good. I took the opportunity to visit the region a bit, it's true that France is such a varied country, so rich in landscapes that you don't have to go very far to visit things, and just in my Occitanie region there are magnificent things. I visited the city of Albi in the Tarn I was able to take beautiful photos, I love taking photos, and the city is very photogenic, I show you a little bit here.
I also spent some time in the Pyrenees, the Pyrenees is the mountain range you know between France and Spain where you can do outdoor activities, hikes: walk, breathe, enjoy, be close to nature. And finally, I went hiking for a week with: a girlfriend, a backpack, a tent. We went walking for a week on a hike in the Cévennes, the hike is called the Stevenson path, maybe you know Stevenson, he is a Scottish writer who traveled this 280 km path in 1878 and the specificity it is that he made this path with a donkey, a donkey because it was a female, so he walked for 12 days with his donkey, he created a bond, really, with his animal today we can do the Stevenson path with a donkey I didn't do it with a donkey because I didn't have the opportunity but it was still a great experience, I walked every day about 25 km and it is really an extraordinary hobby (or sport) because it allows you to empty your thoughts, to solve your problems.
By walking you actually think, all the questions I had are resolved, all the problems I had are resolved and it allows you to have clearer ideas, to think about projects to have a vision, and it's a lot of good in fact, to live far from screens, connected to nature, it's a bit cliché to say that but it's true, that's just walking, climbing peaks telling yourself that you can do it too. When I saw all the mountains and told myself that one by one I was able to cross them, it was quite satisfying and above all I made extraordinary encounters. It's very easy to build relationships with people who walk, we share a few kilometers together, we discuss, we exchange and it did me good to see people in real life because I see a lot of people behind my screen But yeah.
. . in Paris it's difficult to meet people I find and to establish relations whereas in other circumstances like this it's much simpler so I appreciated it a lot, it made me a lot of good.
I still have my head in the holidays but I'm still happy to have you back, tell me in the comments if you were on vacation or if you were working and what did you do during the month of August is a good exercise in written expression, if you dare to leave a comment it means that you are active in your learning and that you are trying to build sentences, I really invite you to try it. opportunity to tell me about your vacation using the past tense or the imperfect. I also take this opportunity to tell you about a new project called the Fluency Challenge, in fact it's a one-month project, you join a private group that I manage, it's limited to 50 participants and all every day you receive a challenge to complete to help you unblock yourself when you speak in French, to work on spontaneity, everyone tells me "here I am blocked when I speak in French" and that's why I created this challenge, so that we all practice French together in a caring atmosphere.
It lasts a month it's limited so I invite you to pre-register, I put a direct link in the information bar.
