Donald Trump is waking up to headlines like this Europe retaliates against Trump tariffs measles outbreak spreads Department of Education Cuts nearly half of its Workforce and then a new CNN poll Americans are negative on Trump's handling of the economy according to the new CNN poll 56% of Americans disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy this is worse than at any point during his first term in office 61% of Americans disapprove of his tariffs frankly I don't get why it's not more than that uh here is another poll from SSRS which has that disapproval at 54%
what's Donald Trump doing when all of this is taking place he's posting the following on his social media platform wow people are loving Elon a great Patriot nice to see djt and Donald Trump follows up his product placement event yesterday at the White House while the markets were crashing Donald Trump was selling Teslas in front of the white house because he said Elon Musk was being treated very unfairly so he wanted to also help Elon Musk sell more Tesla vehicles and Trump said he bought one for $35,000 while the markets were crashing Donald Trump now
is reposting Shan Hannity saying that as promised Shan Hannity has bought a Tesla to help billionaire Elon Musk also on Donald Trump's social media platform you have advertisements from or by or using the name image and likeness of his HHS secretary Health and Human Services secretary RFK Jr and it says RFK JR says they lied about hydroxy chloroquin stock up now before it's too late so they're still selling those things on Trump's truth social and they're using RFK Jr's name image and likeness seriously America seriously well I woke up this morning and the markets of
course Very volatile so once this video drops it could be different from where it is right now but the Dow was down another uh 334 points this morning or 81 uh% the Wall Street journal's opinion section was as follows is Trump throwing it away his tariff circus undermines us standing just when it would be most useful that's from The Wall Street Journal folks here's another page from The Wall Street Journal from their politics section Trump's economic messaging is spooking some of his own advisors president's team receives a flood of calls from business executive who are
concerned about the mixed messaging on tariffs mixed messaging how about delusional and psychotic messaging as Donald Trump also then threatens to conquer Canada Annex it says that O Canada will become the anthem of the 51st state and then Donald Trump sends his advisors on American Media to say Oh Canada you got to tone down that rhetoric you're being kind of mean to president president Trump you're being mean to him take a look at this from the chief executive magazine a poll of more than 220 us CEOs finds that business confidence is at its lowest level
essentially ever but certainly since 2012 among CEOs and as I said this morning while this was taking place Donald Trump brings on his snake oil salesman Howard lutnick and Howard Lut says look here's the plan if we really want to deal with avoiding tariffs we need to merge America and Canada via annexation America should just take it over and then everything's going to be good voila ShamWow here play this clip the end game here could you eventually get to a point where there's no that you've got a a huge economy you've conjoined you've merged the
economies of Canada and the United States can you get to that point you think well the best the best way the president has said it the best way to actually merge the economies of Canada the United States is for Canada to become our 51st state if they want to merge it that's how you make it the 51st state take a look at this headline right here from Politico Trump allies are blaming Howard lutnick for Trump's tariff turmoil there's a growing consensus that lutnick could be forced to take the fall for the economic chaos generated by
the president's unsteady tariff policies ask whom lutnick had angered so far in the administration the second person close to the president said everybody everybody as I showed you from the Wall Street Journal editorial board how do you like your trade War now we said from the beginning that this is the North American Trade war is the dumbest trade war in history and we were being kind take a look right here as a top Economist over here on CNBC goes off script on national TV play this clip I'm going to say this at risk of my
job Kelly but what president Trump is doing is insane it is absolutely insane it is about the eighth reason we've had for the tariffs and now he's saying he's putting 50% tariffs on Canada unless they agree to become the 51st state that is insane there is just other way of describing it and the trouble Kelly is that it shows there are no bounds around president Trump this is very different from the first Administration where there were people around him who seemed to I don't know what the the word is but smooth over some of the
edges now and the other thing that's not talked about Kelly is what's going on within the administration in terms of how they're treating the Constitution and laws I think all of that is bad for the attraction of capital and and the gentleman from Bridgewater is 100% right we need massive amounts of capital if we want to have fund our deficits pay for the things we want to pay for sell our bonds and have high stock prices and it seems as if this Administration is doing everything it can to chase foreign Capital away well and we
could go into the strategy of the the insanity as a strategy in terms of our trading insanity is not a strategy I'm sorry I I I'm with you Kelly and trying to look for Silver Linings I'm a sunny person Lings tactics some some well some explanation for this other than Insanity I'm ready to accept it you can come up with one and as Don moan explains the whole thing is important but listen until the end the US depends a lot on the flow of capital into the country because it is perceived as the safest port
in the storm once that is no longer true a lot of things Americans take for granted goes away there was of course that disastrous press conference yesterday that was held by Trump's chief propagandas Caroline levit you see her here um The Daily Mail is posting clips of that uh the portion where she said where she was asked a question about Donald Trump buying a Tesla um and look the da male you know in my view leans rightwing and and there used to be a lot of comments on the Trump Clips on Daily Mail that I
thought were very favorable to Trump but take a look at what the comments look like now there's by the time I'm reading this in a short period of time close to 10,000 comments and they basically all look like this the way she lights up is pure cult that's a very good question she says it's literally the dumbest question it's literally not the question was is Donald Trump gonna drive a Tesla and she goes that's a very good question the next comment why can't we get the same energy for health insurance and education tell me your
stock is down without telling me your stock is down why the hell does this even matter there are far more important issues my Grandma had her license taken away too when she started getting delusional remember the video I made earlier this morning where Donald Trump says he can't drive cars anymore the next comment how are we supposed to be excited about Trump buying a Tesla when Americans are losing their jobs and vets are losing their benefits who gives an f about any of this girl I do not care life is literally an SNL skit at
this point she gives the worst Vibes she's a robot is this an SNL skit let's talk about those European retaliatory tariffs the European Union hitting back hard against the United States as Donald Trump imposed a 25% Global Steel and aluminum tariff uh the European Union announced a two-stage retali retaliation covering about 26 billion EUR in EU exports want to share this with you as well uh from Ursula vanderlan here's what she has to say um president of the EU commission let's listen to what she says we deeply regret the US tariffs imposed on Europe tariffs
are taxes they are bad for business and even worse for consumers today Europe takes strong and proportionate counter measures we remain ready to engage in a dialogue no one's just taking what Trump's doing lightly and saying oh you're tariffing us like n like Canada's going gloves off elbows up over the boards Europe's responding strongly China's responding strongly people are standing up to this corrupt Trump regime here play this clip the trade relations between the European Union and the United States are the biggest in the world they have brought prosperity and security to millions of people
and trade has created millions of good jobs on both sides of the Atlantic as of this morning the United States is applying a 25% tariff on Imports of Steel and aluminum we deeply regret this measure tariffs are taxes they are bad for business and worse for consumers they are disrupting supply chain they bring uncertainty for the economy jobs are at stake prices up nobody needs that on both sides neither in the European Union nor in the United States the European Union must act to protect consumers and business the counter measures we take today are strong
but proportionate as the United States are applying tariffs worth $28 billion we are responding with countermeasures worth 26 billion euros this matches the economic scope of the tariffs of the United States take a look at some other uh local news uh page one headlines the Fort Worth Star Telegram Trump's tariffs complicate forth wor Fort Worth building projects um another headline how in this is from the Miami Herald in Hala city of immigrants is set to have cops take on immigration enforcement also Doge job Cuts hit uh Camp Nelson Monument people are losing their jobs across
the country people are losing their jobs big projects infrastructure projects critical projects are all being destroyed as a result of Trump's actions just take a look here as well just give you an example of what's going on at a university like John Hopkins John Hopkins pln staff layoffs after 800 million in Grand cuts a lot of what has been broken in the last six to eight weeks is not repairable said Dr Jude walson who chairs the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Department of international Health what else is the Trump Administration the regime cutting
the Department of Education here play this clip of Maga Republican senator Jim Banks saying we don't really care the states will handle it all good all good play this clip the Department of Education is tasked with protecting disabled students across America and Jamie Rasin for example is all out there saying how are you going to defend this so let me ask you well I think it's simple that that will be done at the state level a federal bureaucrat who's in Washington DC can't protect schools schools and kids in Indiana that has to be done at
the local level and that that's why get get getting the Federal ederal government out of the way and letting letting schools take care of these issues with those tax dollars that will be spent more more tax dollars spent the local level will help that happen in a much better way than anything that happens in Washington d and then more here of Howard lutnick for some reason attacking Canada well not for some reason he's in the Trump regime this is all they do he's attacking uh I think here uh Ontario's Premiere Doug Ford and saying like
Doug Ford back down back down what what is he backing down from Trump's imposing Trump's the one imposing the tariffs and then withdrawing his own tariffs this is like it's the Biggest Loser mentality from the Trump regime but here's your snake oil salesman Howard letnick play this clip price of aluminum and steel and copper has already started to rise that could Ripple through the entire manufacturing sector and raise the level of inflation could it bring on a recession so let's start again let's take a step back and remember inflation right inflation comes from a government
printing too much money the Biden Administration having a$2 trillion deficit you don't get inflation from having a tariff because what a tariff says is if it's made in Europe if it's made foreign it costs it might cost a little more but that which is made in America does not cost more this concept of how about we buy American Steel we buy American aluminum this us steel you know it there's new core right there's Cleveland Cliffs we make plenty of Steel in America plenty of Steel in America let's strengthen that domestic producers can't keep up with
demand the supply is limited demand is strong the price is going up some foreign steel will go up for sure but then they will build those plants in America we will have our plant production in America is only operating at 50 55% that's got to get up to 80% we'll put the orders in America our plants will be more effective well there you have it folks let me know what you think hit subscribe let's get to 5 million subscribers thanks for watching Can't Get Enough Midas check out the Midas Plus substack for adree articles reports
