hello and welcome to another hostinger academy tutorial my name is gudas and today in this video i will show you how you can easily point a domain name to hostinger or any other web hosting provider it doesn't really matter where you have registered your domain name or who is your web hosting provider because the procedure is still going to be almost identical all right in my case i will be pointing domain name which is registered at hosting24 and i will be pointing this domain name to hostinger so let's go to hostinger and as you can
see i already added this domain name by clicking right here add website as you can see i'm using premium shared web hosting plan and with this plan i can host up to 100 websites so i already have one website and i just added another website alright so first things first before we point our domain name we need to know the name servers of our web hosting and to find out the name servers let's click manage in hostingers case name servers are shown right here as you can see right here we have two name servers the
first one and the second one so all you want to do is to copy those two name servers or you can copy just the first one because the second one is almost identical except instead of having one it has two and as you can see we are getting the message that this domain name is not pointing to hostinger that's because we haven't changed the name servers if you are using other web hosting provider you might find name servers in account section under the details as you can see right here we have the same name servers
so like i said before copy the first name server or copy them both and from here you should go to your domain name provider in my case it's going to be hosting 24 as you can see right now i'm in the domains section this is the list of my domains i only have one domain available and right now we will have to change the name servers of this domain so let's click on this domain and as you can see right here we have the name servers as you can see they are different from the hostinger
name servers so we have to change them let's click change and just paste your name servers from hostinger or any other web hosting provider once you have pasted your name servers hit save and that's it basically that's all the domain name propagation can take up to 24 hours basically that means that it can take up to 24 hours until your domain name is fully pointing to your web hosting you can even check the progress for example if i would go right here to the whatsmydns.net website as you can see right here i just pasted my
domain name and if you would select right here ns which stands for name servers you would click search you would see the propagation progress and as you can see right now i'm still getting my all the name servers because i just changed my name servers so within next couple of hours you should see your new name servers and within 24 hours you should see that all name servers have been updated successfully if the name servers stay the same you should contact the support there might be some issues but if you follow this tutorial you shouldn't
face any issues so basically that's all this is how you can easily point a domain name to hostinger or any other web hosting provider at the end of the day the process is the same you have to locate the name servers of your web hosting provider you'll have to copy them then you'll have to log into the dashboard of your domain name provider you'll have to access the list of your domain names and you will have to change the name servers with the ones you just copied so this is it thank you for watching if
