hey Adam it's Men's Health we're here to see your gym in fridge what's happening I'm Adam Lavine right this [Music] way this is my kitchen welcome everybody to my kitchen I love my kitchen come on over every morning I wake up it's coffee time now I don't around with my coffee grab my beans do a little pourover fatti likes cre and sugar it's very specific ratio I've mastered that at this point foam in the milk cuz I don't again I don't play around creatine creatine is a scientifically proven thing so everyone should take it I'm not a doctor though so don't listen to me yeah so I do coffee maybe if I'm feeling an espresso this is a very simple and effective espresso machine highly recommended snack drawer we got a snack drawer here guys yogurt oo siggies my favorite things to kind of like PL eat fast on the Run smoothies little snack fridge snack fridge very clutch but my favorite thing this is this this ladies and gentlemen this is the fridge this right here this is my favorite thing Adam I think that's the biggest fridge we've ever seen on the show I wouldn't advise you to come in and close the door cuz it's kind of sketchy to get out I mean it's you got to just give it a good push what do you always have in your fridge peppers because eating a pepper every day it's more vitamin C than in an orange I mean I think I'm not like again I'm not a medical doctor people tell me and I believe in them but yeah so there's a lot of vitamin C and peppers I think those are the best things you can put in your body every day I love me some berries I pound berries in the morning what else do you keep in this massive fridge yeah we have a we have a garden here keep everything that we grow in here it's a little slim picking right now but this is this is the veggie section over here I don't know I never used my fridge for anything be honest I didn't even know we had this just Kidd got to have a little poppy they make the best fake Coke oh we don't have any oh yes we do we have one left this is my favorite like if you can't have a Coke it's kind of like the second best thing kind of tastes enough like Coke to like satiate that desire to have Coke so I like to have non soda sodas to scratch the [Music] itch how has your diet changed over time you can eat anything you want when you're younger and then all of a sudden you can't so I just kind of try to be conscious of the things I put in my body and not overdo it not overthink it but kind of just be smart about it and I don't know lots of veggies things I didn't used to love I who likes veggies when they're young now I love veggies which is funny do you eat or drink anything before going on stage well right before you go on stage I eat very little just like three or two or three hours before because it's like you want to go out there with full stomach I'll always have right before drink a ton of water ton of tea have like a little bit of prot protein like turkey slices and some apple which is good like energy burst right right before we go on I'll have kind of more of a bigger meal afterwards once I worked up an appetite what do you typically eat when you're on the road I keep it simple on the road lots of protein grilled chicken when I can that's like the go-to egg whites and spinach for breakfast maybe some oatmeal fruit when I can some some quinoa maybe some steak every once in a while for dinner beans when I get my hands on them some good ones if I get too uh adventurous when I'm touring it's like it's just not cute on stage are there any food or drinks you need to have backstage what food or drink do I always have backstage if there's not like apples I freak out like that's like the one thing that's the one thing I have to have on stage or not on stage that' be funny be like hey thanks a lot guys but yeah so if there's no apples I lose my fing freak out what do you typically eat after a big show God so many meal questions I don't know I love a steak I I don't know these are hard questions I feel like it depends on the night depends on the place we're at hey if we're in Thailand I'll probably have some Pat thae if we are in Texas I'll probably have some barbecue we always try to get whatever we can get that's like the local delicacy if you will what is one food you can't live without food I can't live without a sushi I Love Sushi I could eat so much Sushi I could eat more Sushi than most people in one sitting what is your go-to comfort food Sushi what's your go-to burger order ooh depending on the day it'll either be regular just double double animal style or I'll do like double double animal style protein style if I'll ditch the bun just do it with lettuce and just disgusting and delicious the grilled cheese is from in and out are really good but that's on the low like the real know about the grilled cheese you go in there and you're like you get a grilled cheese it's off menu they'll respect you what's your snack strategy try not to snacking for me is like I try to do like a little siggies a little peanut butter or something like that but if I'm like off the rails then I'll probably have like whatever the I can get my hands on cuz sometimes I get like crazy and uh for those moments I have places here in the house with things in them that I'm am too ashamed to show you guys amazing delicious things that are not going to be part of this healthy peace what do you grab from your fridge at 2 a. m. oh no no no there's no food I have now completely programmed my brain to not eat after like seven I used to be really bad I have put those days behind me if I'm like if I'm being crazy I'll grab like a handful of like peanuts and raisins I'm soing boring but also I like ice cream anything where chocolate and peanut butter are involved peanut butter cups in ice cream taking a chocolate bar and like dipping it in peanut butter this is for health right this for Men's Health all right are you ready to work out all right guys here we are this is my gym ain't she beautiful let's get a quick workout come on do you like to work out with a partner no yeah I I always work out with my boy Austin oh and here and here he is right now everybody Austin Poland come on let's clap let's clap this is Austin he's the best wonderful guy amazing trainer so this exercise I'm going to do I used to hate it they're called rearfoot elevated split squats otherwise known as bulgarians no one likes to hear that word but once you get better at them they're actually kind of like addictive and fun today what's your morning routine well take the kids at school every morning it's kind of a workout but then afterwards go to the gym and we'll do like it depends on the day right so Monday Wednesday Friday's gym Tuesday Thursday's Pilates which a lot of guys don't do but should cuz it's very very important I think and crucial definitely no lifting Tuesdays Thursdays very tired still from those bulgarians what are your fitness goals when I first started doing this I I cared it was more of an aesthetic thing I think look good I guess and as much as that's nice and I will admit to my own vanity and it's nice to look good and I I I like to do that it's one of the reasons why I like to work out but I think the core now reasons why are more associated with like heart health and cardiovascular health you know I'm not 25 I'm almost 45 so uh doing things to strengthen my legs and my my hips and my core and things that were kind of my troubled spots and just just living a healthy life and a healthy lifestyle cuz you know working out isn't one of those things you just it's not like a Band-Aid you can throw on oh I got to get myself in shape I've really fallen in love with just trying to not worrying about a scale or not worrying about like a goal necessarily but more so just making Fitness part of my life for forever I was going to chime in but there was no Chim that he took it he took it over he he wrote an essay there so I was I had not much to say how was your exercise regime changed over time I mean I didn't exercise at all until I was probably in my like late 20s I did but I play basketball once a year for like that was kind of my life so I got really into yoga that was an amazing thing and then I think at a certain point I had just done yoga every day for God knows how many years and then I kind of realized okay I need to do some other things or some other things that are lacking then I started branching out doing cardio stuff weightlifting strength training all that good stuff how does working out help you on stage working out as a performer is actually hugely important it's big energy playing a concert so there's a lot lot coming at you and so it can be overwhelming and so just having your cardiovascular kind of dialed in is just important I wanted to be an athlete growing up and became a musician instead so I think I like to apply a lot of what I love about sports and competition to what I do on stage so I like to be in the best possible shape cuz then I'll put on the best possible show what kind of training do you do to prep for tour we have the luxury of being able to have Austin out with us on tour so you know wherever we go anywhere in the world like we hit the gym in every gym like the farest reaches of the planet at this point kind of in between shows the heavy workouts won't be on show days it'll just be kind of Light which Maroon Five song is the best to work out to I don't work out to my own music and if I did I would admit it but I don't This Love This Love I only work out to this love forun five that's a joke better edit that kindly up next we have one armed overhead shoulder press for those sexy shoulders you always wanted what keeps you motivated uh gosh I mean I love Fitness that's kind of is a an endorphin rush and it feels good and it always just feels good to be in shape what keeps me motivated is just wanting to live a happy Mobile Life I want to be that guy at 90 still in it what do you consider an intense workout any workout can be intense trust me what's your favorite exercise seated overhead shoulder press just kidding maybe bulgarians bulgarians for the win what's one exercise you hate bulgarians what in IR you to get fit I think wanting to have a long life and a long career I'm most importantly you know I have three kids and wanting to be a dad that can play with their kids and forever you know I think that's an important thing but overall just longevity you know you only get one life so I think it's important to do what you can with the
