if you're new to reading the Bible or maybe you have tried to read it in the past but you always quit this video is for you I have helped over 100,000 people start their journey of reading the Bible every single day and I think that I can help you do me a huge favor like And subscribe I've been a pastor for almost 15 years and believe me when I say I struggle to read the Bible every single day maybe you are a Christian you are new to your Journey of Faith and you want to read
the Bible but it seems difficult it seems boring let me tell you something you are not the only person that feel that way I struggle myself for many many year and this is the reason why I'm so passionate to help people read the Bible because I know how difficult it was for me I did good for a couple of days for a couple of weeks even couple months but then I quit and I'm going to tell you my biggest mistake so I need you to lean in because it's probably the same mistake you're making lean
in you're focusing on the wrong thing you're focusing on a goal instead of developing a system the biggest mistake I made when I started to read the Bible is that I was focusing on reading the whole Bible in a year or I wanted to read the Bible instead of making making sure I develop a system so I could read the Bible every single day and this starts even how I set up my day my schedule and how early I go to bed I believe that the number one mistake that people made when reading the Bible
is having a goal instead of building a system and that's what we're going to be talking about uh today and as I said in the beginning of this video I've been a pastor for almost 15 years and I've been creating Bible content since 2017 and on social media and Instagram for about four years now and let me tell you that I people ask me the wrong question often they ask me where should I start what book of the Bible should I read from Genesis on should I start in the New Testament and even though those
questions are great because you want to know where you should read and I'm going to give you a a a guide for that I believe that the best thing that we can the best question that we can ask is like how do I develop a system so I can read the Bible every single day the word of God is alive and active this is what the Bible says in the book of Isaiah that the grass wither the and the flowers fade but the word of God stands forever this is why I'm passionate about reading the
Bible this is why I want people to develop the habit of reading the Bible every single day because at the end of the day everything that we have will fade but the word of God will remain forever reading the Bible can feel intimidating and hard because it's a big book there's 66 books in the Bible there's also over 40 authors in the whole Bible and you might feel intimidating just by staring at it but that's why I'm here I'm here to help you read the whole Bible and believe me what I say that you can
do it to develop a system that works for you you need five things and the first thing that you need is you need to change your mindset you need to understand that reading the Bible is a journey it's a marathon not a Sprint it's going to take you some time and that is totally okay whether it takes you 6 months or two years or five years who cares who who came up with the rule that you need to read the Bible in a year I know that I encourage people to read the Bible every single
year but I always tell people you don't have to finish the whole Bible to me one of the best systems it's reading the New Testament in one year and reading the Old Testament the second year and in two years you can read the entire Bible and I'm going to tell you a little bit more about that in just a second but I need you to understand that you don't need to read the whole Bible from cover to cover you don't need to do that if you want to I am here cheering you on but in
2024 I ran the Oklahoma City Half Marathon that's 13.2 miles and I got a coach because I really wanted to do something that it was hard I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it and let me tell you I needed a coach I needed somebody to help me and write a program down for me and one of the things that my coach did which she scheduled me to run a mile the first week and then she started adding mileage to my weekly and then she told me this week we're going to do
a 5K and then couple of weeks later was a 10K and couple of week later was 10 miles until finally I accomplished the 13.2 miles but she she told me this is a journey you don't run half marathon today now some people can and honestly I probably could have but if I did it I would have hated running and I believe that a lot of people make that mistake when reading the Bible they just want to read it in a year or in six months and they do it and they accomplish that and they never
do it again and I don't want you to do that because I want you to develop a system that helps you read the Bible every single day I believe that the word of God it's alive and active it has the power to change you and transform your life when you read it you understand it and you apply it to your daily life CU we read the word of God to apply it James G says do not merely listen to the word do what it says so developing this system it will help you read the Bible
understand what the Bible says and apply it to your daily life so just like I ran a marathon a half marathon uh I want to help you run the marathon of reading the Bible every single day again you don't have to do it in a year you don't have to do it in six months you don't even have to do it in 2 years but I want you to commit to read the the Bible every single day second thing that you need to do is you need to have a Bible reading plan and at the
in the description of this video I'm going to link a free Bible reading plan that it's going to help you read the Bible it will tell you exactly what you need to read each day if you want to do just the New Testament just the Old Testament or if you want to do both you will add both readings into one that's actually what I'm doing right now I am and this year I'm going to read the entire Bible but last year I only read the Old Testament and the year before I only read the uh
New Testament so in two years I read the whole Bible it was very easy to do now you know uh you might not know this but you can read the entire Bible just by reading 15 minutes uh per day now I have a hack for you this is a Bible hack and I encourage you to do this cuz what I'm doing right now it's I have been listening to the Bible at the same time as I'm reading the Bible and because I'm doing that I'm not as distracted I'm taking notes and highlighting things I have
a Bible uh study journaling Bible so I write notes on the on the journaling side and I am focused and that helps me keep everything tight so I don't wonder too much when I'm reading the Bible so you need a guide make sure you download the free Bible reading plan you don't have to do my Bible reading plan but mine is super simple uh if you do just the New Testament takes you about five minutes per day if you do the Old Testament about 10 to 15 minutes a day if you do both between 15
and 20 minutes you're going to read the whole Bible in a year but I want you to start with one I encourage you to read the entire New Testament first another thing that you need it's an you need a Bible you need a physical copy of the Bible now I'm also going to link in the description of this video U version U version is on your phone I encourage you to do that maybe you live in a country that you it's not easy for you to get a copy of the Bible if you have a
smartphone you can download the Bible app for free but I want you to I want you to pick up a physical copy of the Bible I this is my favorite way uh to reading the Bible so you need a Bible and I encourage you to maybe invest in a Bible stud in a in a study Bible so you can have notes and commentaries to help you understand what you're reading you need a Bible and you need an easy translation I have made videos on this I'll make sure that it's at the end of of this
video but I recommend these three translations the NIV the in uh New International Version that is about Middle School reading level I also recommend the New Living Translation which is is the NLT it's also about sixth grade seventh grade uh reading level and the ESV the English Standard Version now there are many great Bible versions I like the ESV because it's that one that I personally read the ESV is a thought uh it's a word for word translation the NIV and the NLT are um thought for Thought meaning that when they were translating from the
Greek and the Hebrew they were they were putting and they were they were reading it and they were trying to figure out what is the author trying to say you're going to see that both all translations are pretty similar but thought for Thought are easier translations to read so I encourage you if you're new to reading the Bible pick up a copy of the NIV NLT I'm also going to link an Amazon storefront so you can see some of this Bibles in there as well the third thing that you need to do is that you
need to schedule your time of reading you need to put it in your calendar you need to make make sure that you put it in your phone you're going to put in your phone when and where you're going to read what time and what place I like reading it in the morning and I like doing it here in this room I also like going to coffee shops but since I became a father I'd rather be with my daughter in the morning so I do it here and then when she wakes up I spend some time
with her but I like doing it in the morning and I believe that if you do it in the morning it will be easier for you CU you're not thinking throughout the whole day when I'm going to do this when it's in your calendar you know I just got a haircut just now and uh I didn't miss it because I had an appointment with my wife to go get a haircut when you put your time with God in your calendar you are not going to miss it because you have craft time to do that and
I always tell people this do not leave your life on your busy schedule leave your life on your priori ities make sure that your priorities are the first thing in your calendar so make sure the Bible reading your time with God your date with God however you want to call it is in your calendar if this content has been helpful for you do me a huge favor like And subscribe the fourth thing that you need is an accountability partner let me tell you about how important accountability partner is the beginning of the video I said
that I am passionate about about helping people read the Bible because I struggle to read the Bible every single day I always read the Bible but I wanted to develop the habit of reading the Bible every single day and that didn't happen until about four years ago when I when I had an accountability partner and every day we share with each other what we read from the word of God we are both doing the same Bible reading plan we are both texting each other we are both sending pictures of our journals and that account ability
partner has helped me grow with God so much because I know that somebody is waiting on me because I gave my word that I was going to text every morning my takeaways from the Bible and it has helped me stay consistent with the word of God so do not sleep on getting an accountability partner and let me tell you how you can find an accountability partner accountability partner needs to be someone who you admire who wants to chase Jesus with you this is not NE neily a mentor this is someone who is probably in the
same level spiritually doesn't need to be but somewhere in the same level where both of you have a hunger to read the word of God and all you need to do is ask them hey would you be down to read the Bible together for us to share scripture every single day having an accountability partner it's part of building that system that helps you achieve your goal having a goal is not bad but having a go without a system is terrible it it is a recipe for disaster to not do it this is why I'm telling
you the things that you need to do you need to change your mindset you need to have a Bible reading plan you need to schedule your time with God you need an accountability partner do not sleep on having an accountability partner number five you need to journal and write down what God is speaking to you you need to write down what you're learning in the Bible I like having a journal a physical Journal this is my journal for this year every single year I buy a new journal and I write down my goal is always
to write every single day if not every single day most days of the year and what I do is I do my Bible reading plan let me show you here so this is from today uh today I read Romans chapter 8 and exodus 37 through 38 because I'm doing the whole Bible description uh link in the description of this video doing the whole Bible and I write a scripture that spoke to me and then I write down things that I learn from that scripture and I write a prayer I personally like using a Bible study
method that is super simple that I want to share with you and I also wrote an ebook called the Bible made easy a guy to introduce you to the Bible if you don't know anything about the Bible I highly recomend recommend for you to grab that cuz I talk about the Old Testament the New Testament what languages the Bible were uh written uh Bible reading tips I also talked about Bible study methods in it it is it is short but it is great great content in there it's in the description of this video but the
Bible study method that I also talked in the Bible madees the ebook is the soap Bible study method and the so Bible study method is scripture that's why I write down a scripture so I pray as I'm reading Lord speak to me then when I highlight things and I make notes I ask the holy spirit to guide me into a verse that speaks to me and every single day he does and I have here to prove it so something that spoke to me I write that scripture down and I write down observations that's the o
s is for scripture O is for observation write down no write down things that you learn by reading this uh chapter this book of the Bible what are some of the observation like Romans Paul is writing to this church in Rome that he's never been there there are two groups of people Jews and Gentiles they don't want to eat together they don't want to be together are also made a whole video explaining why Paul wrote this letter I'm going to make sure it's at the end of this video so you can watch that after but
make all of the observations that you see pay attention to who is talking what time of the day when was this written all of those things the A is for application every every day or most days I would say when I'm when I'm journaling I write down the scripture I write down observations and I write down ways that I'm going to do that if it's talking about forgiveness and maybe I had an argument with my wife I would write down apologize to Natalie and and the the P stands for prayer every single day I say
a prayer after I finish or I write down a prayer on my uh Journal those five things I believe are going to help you to develop a system so you can accomplish the goal of reading the whole Bible remember it's a mindset and you can do it and I'm here to help you make sure you like And subscribe check out the ebook in the description of this video if you made it this far in the video do me a huge favor let me know with this Emoji right here that you made it to this video
