Welcome to our midweek meeting for this week January 20th to 26th 2025 let us begin with the consideration of treasures from God's word dear brothers and sisters today we will discuss a topic that resonates with many of us nervousness especially the kind of nervousness we feel when we raise our hand to comment at a Christian meeting we might get that familiar knot in our stomach wondering if our comment will sound right or if others will appreciate it in this discourse we will explore the importance of praising Jehovah with our whole heart how we can draw
on Jehovah's strength to overcome fear and why our nervousness can actually be a positive sign of our humility along the way we will highlight practical suggestions to help us handle those butterflies in our stomachs let us Begin by focusing on the psalmist's heartfelt desire to praise Jehovah in Psalm 1381 we read I will praise you with all my heart in the face of other gods I will sing praises this verse teaches us a vital truth Jehovah is worthy of our undivided heartfelt devotion regardless of what others may think or say we want to express our
love and gratitude to God when we comment in our Christian meetings we do just that we praise Jehovah publicly our words words are a testimony to our faith in him and our heartfelt Expressions can encourage others as well we should never underestimate how much Jehovah Treasures sincere expressions of Praise when we praise Jehovah with all our heart we demonstrate our complete Reliance on him we tell others in essence Jehovah is the most important person in my life in a world where people chase after many different goals or Gods such as materialism Fame or personal interests
our heartfelt Praises set Jehovah in the highest position remember brothers and sisters we are not alone in wanting to offer this praise all around the world fellow Christians are doing the same and our combined voices of Praise give glory to our Heavenly Father even though we may want to praise Jehovah with our whole heart the reality is that many of us struggle with nerves we might wonder what if I lose my train of thought or what if my comment isn't as good as someone else's the good news is that Jehovah understands our anxieties and is
ready to help us notice the Comfort found at Psalm 138:3 on the day I called you answered me you made me bold and strong when we call out to Jehovah in prayer he can make us bold and strong that does not necessarily mean we will never feel butterflies in our St stomach however it does mean that Jehovah will give us the inner strength and courage we need at the right time next time you feel those nerves creeping in turn to Jehovah offer a silent prayer asking him to help you focus on your spiritual goal building
up your brothers and sisters by your heartfelt praise it is reassuring to know that we do not have to face our anxieties alone Jehovah wants us to succeed and he supports supports the efforts of those who humbly rely on him one way we can reflect on Jehovah's support is to meditate on how he helped Faithful Servants in the past such as Moses or Jeremiah who also felt insecure about their abilities when we see how God helped them we grow in confidence that he can help us too no matter how insignificant or nervous we may feel
sometimes we might feel guilty or ashamed for feeling nervous wondering if it indicates a lack of faith but in reality a certain degree of nervousness can be beneficial Psalm 1386 highlights this point though Jehovah is high he takes note of the humble but the haughty he knows only from a distance why can nervousness be a good sign often our fear stems from not wanting to say something incorrect or from genuinely considering others as more capable than ourselves this attitude can be a demonstration of humility a quality that Jehovah deeply values as Philippians 2:3 says we
should do nothing out of contentiousness or egotism but with humility consider others Superior to you when we worry that our comment might not be as polished as others it could simply reflect that we are modest and value the input of our brothers and sisters Jehovah loves that humility however while we cherish humility we also want to avoid letting fear silence us completely we need to remember that Jehovah wants us to praise him and encourage one another in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 the Apostle Paul states keep encouraging one another and building one another up we cannot do
this if we always remain silent so we strike a balance we cultivate a humble Spirit while taking bold steps to offer our heartfelt praises and thoughtful comments Jehovah promises to help us find that perfect balance so how can we practically manage our nervousness let us consider a few suggestions that have been published in the pages of the Watchtower and other bible-based Publications prepare well as Proverbs 215 teaches the plans of the diligent surely lead to success when we diligently prepare for each meeting we become more familiar with the material this helps us feel more at
ease because we know the subject matter well we can better organize our thoughts and feel confident in what we will say keep it brief the Bible highlights the value of concise speech Proverbs 15:23 says a man has joy in giving the right answer and Proverbs 17:27 mentions that whoever restrains his words possesses knowledge offering a short to Theo comment can actually be more impactful for our brothers and sisters it also reduces the pressure on ourselves because we have fewer details to worry about a simple heartfelt comment of one or two sentences is often easier to
understand and remember focus on one main idea instead of trying to cover several thoughts pick just one key point from the paragraph or scripture reading that way you are less likely to forget what you want to say you can concentrate on delivering that point clearly and effectively practice aloud before the meeting you might find it helpful to practice your brief comment out loud hearing your own voice can boost your confidence and help you refine your wording pray for courage finally as we noted from psalm 138:3 call on Jehovah for help ask for Peace of Mind
Clarity and the wisdom to comment in a way that strengthens the congregation in conclusion dear brothers and sisters let us not allow nervousness to hold us back from praising Jehovah as Psalm 138:1 reminds us we want to praise our god with our whole heart yes we may feel nervous but with Jehovah's help that nervous can serve as a sign of our humility and we know that Psalm 138:6 assures us that Jehovah cherishes The Humble when we rely on Jehovah he will make us bold and strong Psalm 138 verse3 every time you comment you are giving
Jehovah the public praise he deserves and encouraging your brothers and sisters in the congregation by keeping your thoughts brief preparing well focusing on a single point and above all praying for Jehovah's blessing you will find that nervousness does not have to be a barrier instead it can become a stepping stone toward greater Faith humility and joy in serving our loving God may we all continue to cultivate a humble Spirit rely on Jehovah for strength and use every opportunity to praise him with all our heart let us keep in mind the Apostle Paul's words at 1

23 this forced him to reconsider his travel Arrangements likely to avoid danger instead of departing from centri by boat he decided to take an alternate route to Ure his safety this situation demonstrates how external opposition often disrupted Paul's missionary efforts requiring him to remain Vigilant and adaptable in his travels 89 B why might the Jews have harbored animosity toward Paul the Jews viewed Paul as an apostate because he had turned away from their traditions and was now actively promoting faith in Jesus Christ his preaching led to the the conversion of many Jews including Crispus a
prominent leader in the Corinthian synagogue this would have been seen as a betrayal by the Jewish Community intensifying their opposition toward him additionally Paul had previous conflicts with the Jews in Corinth they had once brought him before Galo the proconsul of aaya in an attempt to accuse him legally however Gallo dismissed their charges as baseless this legal feet likely increased their frustration making them even more determined to stop him 10 was it cowardly of Paul to avoid Centre explain no it was not cowardly of Paul to avoid centri instead his decision demonstrated wisdom and Prudence
Paul was not afraid of facing dangers for the sake of the good news he had already endured many hardships including beatings imprisonment and threats to his life however in this situation he chose to avoid unnecessary risks that could have endangered not only himself but also the funds entrusted to him for the needy Brothers in Jerusalem protecting these contributions was a serious responsibility and taking a safer route showed his concern for the well-being of others 11 how do Christians today take reasonable measures to protect themselves and what example did Jesus set in this regard Christians today
take practical precautions to ensure their safety while engaging in the ministry in some areas they travel in groups or in pairs rather than going out alone this not only provides security but also follows the example set by Jesus when he sent his disciples out in pairs regarding persecution Christians recognize that it is inevitable John 1520 and2 Timothy 312 both confirm that those following Christ will face opposition however they do not deliberately put themselves in unnecessary danger they exercise wisdom and discretion avoiding situations where their life or safety would be recklessly jeopardized Jesus set an excellent
example in this regard when opposers in Jerusalem picked up stones to attack him he hid and left the temple later when thew Jews were plotting to kill him he stopped walking publicly among them and moved to a more remote region this shows that Jesus Took reasonable steps to protect himself when it did not conflict with God's will for him 12 13 a what effect did the resurrection of uus have on the congregation the resurrection of uus had a profound impact on the congregation witnessing such a powerful Miracle reassured the brothers and sisters of Jehovah's ability
to restore life as acts 2012 States they were comforted beyond measure seeing their young companion brought back to life would have strengthened their faith in Jehovah and in the resurrection hope it also confirmed that Jehovah was actively supporting the Christian congregation through his power 12 13 B what bible-based hope Comforts those today who have lost loved ones in death although Miracles like the resurrection of uus do not occur today Christians are still comforted beyond measure by the bible-based hope of the Resurrection this hope is even greater than what uus experienced since he was imperfect he
eventually died again however those who are resurrected in God's new world will have the opportunity to live forever in perfect health additionally those who are chosen to rule with Jesus in heaven will receive immortality never to die again this sure promise from Jehovah gives both the anointed and the other sheep a strong reason to remain faithful knowing that soon death will be no more and all faithful ones will be reunited with their loved ones let's analyze the Box Paul delivers relief contributions why was it important for Paul to organize relief contributions for the Christians in
Jerusalem the Christians in Jerusalem faced severe hardships due to famine persecution and the plundering of their belongings many were in great need so the elders in Jerusalem encouraged Paul to keep the poor in mind when carrying out his ministry Galatians 2:10 Paul took this responsibility seriously and helped organize collections from congregations ensuring that those in Jerusalem received financial assistance this act of Christian love and unity strengthened the bond between Jewish and Gentile Believers demonstrating that all were part of the same spiritual family how did Paul ensure the proper handling of the donated funds to prevent
any accusation of mismanagement Paul ensured that the funds were handled transparently he instructed the congregations to set aside contributions weekly making the collection process organized and voluntary additionally nine men from various congregations traveled with him providing security and accountability 2 Corinthians 8:20 this safeguarded both the contributions and Paul's reputation proving that the funds were being used honestly ultimately delivering these donations was the main purpose of Paul's journey to Jerusalem
