Hey everybody, welcome back to That's Right. Uh today I'm going to get into some more Home Free. I got a crazy response from so many people.
I was not expecting that at all. I didn't know these people were so popular and uh wow, and I see why. They're really really talented.
The last song I did I was already familiar with, so it was like I I love the way they did it, but I've heard the song many times and so I wanted to hear something more from them that's maybe a different sound and different song I haven't heard. So it was widely suggested that I do uh what is it? End of the Road.
End of the Road by Boyz II Men and I never listened to Boyz II Men. So I don't know any of this. I come from a predominantly rock and roll background and I'm open to so much more, but I have just closed out the world for for a long time to all these other genres.
Uh a cappella is something I never listened to except when we did Christmas caroling when I was a little boy. That's pretty much the only time I ever heard singing without instruments. Uh I I just always heard music with instruments, you know, so uh I appreciate a cappella and I've heard it mentioned, but I always thought maybe that just meant a range of octaves or something.
I didn't know what a cappella even meant until I watched uh Pentatonix recently and reacted to that. If you haven't seen that reaction, I do have it. It's on my channel, so you can go check out Pentatonix.
I did Hallelujah. Um but uh and then I recently did another one, so uh if you want to check those out, check them out. Um I do appreciate it.
Uh I played cello when I was young and wound up the only cellist with 12 violins in a concert. I couldn't uh escape. I had to not make mistakes cuz it would stick out really easily.
Um and that's the thing with these singers is they they have nothing else to drown them out. So, it I can appreciate the performance level that if they were live in concert, there is nothing else to save them if they make a mistake. It's going to be really, really obvious.
So, uh wow. I mean, people don't realize it unless they've had to do it where where you don't have other sounds or uh other backups to help help you along or drown you a little bit. Um you really have to be spot-on with every detail.
So, it is uh and I love the cello. I love symphony orchestra. [clears throat] I love strings.
Um I can listen to that. I can listen to uh heavy metal one minute and listen to symphony the next minute. Um I love them both and appreciate them so much.
Uh but let's get on with End of the Road. Uh before we do, if you could like, subscribe, comment down below. All these comments just I love them.
I've been reading them and I've really appreciated everybody's input. Um yes, I have been uh trying to get to a lot of other uh artists and genres, but I will get to more of this and and definitely I want to hear more of it. So, uh and if I don't like it, please forgive me if I mention that it just wasn't my cup of tea.
If it is, I'll say so. And if it's not, I'll say so, too. So, that's for sure.
Uh let's get on with End of the Road. Please like, subscribe, put in comments. And we do have Buy Me a Coffee if you'd like to help support the channel and help us grow.
Um I really appreciate it. We just passed We're right at 1,500 subscribers. So, uh excellent.
You know, I don't know exactly what the number is, but last I checked, we were definitely over 1,000. So, we hit 1,000 not too long ago, and here we are. But, uh I appreciate everyone's support, and let's get these artists out there to as many people as possible.
I know they already have These people uh that I'm listening to are already well out there, I'm sure, >> [laughter] >> but it never hurts to have more. So, uh let's get on with End of the Road, uh Boyz II Men cover, I guess, um and see what it sounds like. >> [music] [singing] [music] [singing] [music and singing] >> All right, let's listen.
Hold on. Did not expect that out of him. And he just hit a pretty high note that I was not anticipating.
I'm going to start this over from the beginning. >> [music] [singing] [music] [singing] [music] >> Wow. >> forever.
Said it never >> [music and singing] >> die. How could you love [music] me and leave me and never say goodbye? >> Oh, I can't [singing and music] sleep at night without holding you tight.
Girl, [singing] each time I try, I just break down and cry. The pain [singing] in my head, oh, I'd rather [music] leave it than spending a night alone. Although [music and singing] we've come to the end of the road, [music] still I can't >> [music] >> let go.
It's unnatural. You belong [music and singing] to me. I belong to you.
>> [music] >> Girl, I know you really [singing] love me. [music] You just don't realize. You've never been [music and singing] there before.
It's only your first time. >> [music] >> Maybe I'll forgive you. >> [music and singing] >> Maybe you will try.
We should [music] be happy together [singing] forever, you [music] and I. >> Will you love me >> [singing] >> again like you loved [music] me before? This time I want you to love me much more.
This time instead, just come to [singing and music] my bed and baby, just don't let me die. >> [music] >> Although we've come to the end of the road, >> [music and singing] >> still I can't let go. It's unnatural.
[music] [singing] >> Right there. That dude in the back is his look, man. He's doing the beatboxing or whatever.
Making the sounds with his mouth. He's in his own zone, man, like the whole time. Look at this dude now.
Right there. Right there. Wow.
I want to go back just a little bit. I don't miss anything. Look at him, though.
>> [singing] >> The The concentration. >> end of >> [music] >> the road, still I can't let go. It's [music] unnatural.
[singing] You belong >> He's going solo on that in his own zone. I mean, just like zoning everything else out and I can't imagine what it takes to do what he's doing. But he's the whole instrumental behind the singers.
Very, very critical. Where he He can't make a mistake. This is the the sounds that make everything all the rhythm go according to him.
He's setting the pace, the tempo. Damn. >> belong [music] to me.
I belong to you. Go to the end of the [music] road, still I can't let go. It's [music] unnatural.
[singing] You belong to me. I belong to you. >> Lonely.
>> Lonely. [music and singing] >> So lonely. >> Lonely.
>> Lonely. >> [music and singing] >> And then Splendor dude with the deep voice and you got the big dude with the high voice. Just seems ass backwards to me.
But the the guy sporting [clears throat] the flannel look like he just come out of Oregon. He's got that beatboxing down where he's just If that's If there are no instruments in this, I'm most impressed. I got to say.
I'll put it that way. >> It's unnatural. >> Just [music] come to my bed and baby just don't let me die.
>> Although we go to the end to the end of the [music] road. >> End of the road. >> Still I [singing] can't let go.
>> Can't [music] let go, baby. >> It's unnatural. >> You belong [singing] to me.
I belong to you. >> to me. >> I belong >> to you.
>> Go to >> [singing] >> to the >> [music] >> end of the >> Oh. >> We come to the end of the road. >> Yeah.
>> It's unnatural. >> [singing] >> You belong >> You belong to me. >> I [music] belong >> to you.
>> Go to to the >> [music] >> end of the Still I >> [music] >> I can't let go, baby. >> It's unnatural. >> It's unnatural.
>> You belong to me. >> I belong >> to you. >> You belong >> Go to to end of the >> [music] >> End of >> [singing] [music and singing] >> Wow, that was impressive.
I I got to say that the bass singer and the uh beatboxer kind of blew my mind. My mind that uh those two stick out to me more than anybody. Um that lead singer there, he was on the the first that I did um where they were out in the the swamp and uh what was it called?
But anyways, the it was a the old O Brother, Where Art Thou? Man of Constant Sorrow. Um so, he was on the left side in that one.
Um and you know, he did have that medium pitch voice and uh kind of surprised me, but on this one, he really shocked me, that lead singer. He he uh stepped up and he was rubbing some gospel on that, it sounded like at the end, and getting down. So, he's very [clears throat] talented, very talented.
Um he's able to do anything, it sounds like. Uh but wow, they really put it all together. I don't know I never listened to Boyz II Men, so um don't know any of their songs, but now I do, I guess.
Um so, that's one. >> [laughter] >> Don't know if uh but we'll we'll go down the rabbit hole maybe on some more of this. I really would like to hear more and uh see if there's something that's got a a good uh faster rhythm to it.
I I'm used to think I I don't mind slow. Uh but I like something that's a little more fast-paced. Um if [clears throat] it if it slows down, it's got to really impress me.
I am I've I've always been picky and I'm trying to loosen up. But there's been some really tough acts to follow with what I grew up with. And uh it's just after hearing something, it's like you know, if you see or hear something that's super funny, everything else isn't so funny anymore.
Kind of like that. So, it's but very talented vocalists and and that beatboxer, I don't know if if I'm saying it right. That's a beatboxer.
That's what somebody put in the comments. Um so, the what he was doing has got to be really really difficult and I I don't know how they do that, but they're just That's just raw talent. That's a whole 'nother set of skills where he [clears throat] looked like he was just in his zone zone, like I said, um the whole time.
And I don't know. He's got to be the most serious person on the set, I think. Um everybody else is enjoying it and doing what they're doing, he's uh steady working his skills, a whole different craft, uh it seems like to me and [clears throat] doing it remarkably.
That was It would be something to see live if >> [laughter] >> If you have seen them live, let me know in the comments. Maybe type live or whatever you want to say. But uh let me know if it was a great show or if they had to, you know, tone something back cuz they couldn't do layering in the studio that way.
Um and maybe it was worse, I don't know. But uh what did it sound like live? But let me know in the comments and give me more suggestions.
Uh they've had uh apparently a lot of songs they've done, so maybe something uh more along the lines of rock and roll. Uh, I would like that. And uh until next time for that's right, that's it.
