An engine can be very powerful, but when it has the other components, it reaches unimaginable speeds. Notebook LM is Google's flagship product and one of the most popular in recent years. Its popularity has spawned many companions that only enhance its capabilities.
I've tested dozens of platforms that complement Notebook LM, and the right workflow can do the unimaginable for any tool. To demonstrate this, we'll be testing these integrations with 11 use cases, from creating complete comics like this one, automating the creation of publications, customizing studio presentations, adapting visual functions like folder creation, or even bulk importing information, among other things. Everything you'll see is already available for you to use, and it's free.
Sounds good? Let's start with the first case. We'll begin by seeing how we can clone YouTube content creators.
There's an extension that allows you to extract all the information from a video, and not only that one, but from all the videos on the channel. To see this, we need to jump to YouTube to Notebook LM, which is the extension we'll be discussing. I'll link it below in the description, along with the other extensions and platforms we'll cover.
To add this functionality to our Notebook LM notebooks, all we have to do is click on the "Add to Chrome" option, and it will tell us it's installed. Now, if you go to any YouTube video, like the last one I uploaded to my channel, you'll see this button to add the Notebook LM with a single click. Simply click it, and you 'll be able to add it to a new notebook or an existing one.
But the most interesting thing is that with this platform we'll also be able to do this on a massive scale. If I go back to my channel's main page, which, as you can see, has more than 250 videos, I still have a button there. If I click it and tell it I'm going to add them to a new notebook, it will automatically start extracting all the videos I have on the channel so that it can process all 258 videos in record time.
And with this, you'll really be able to interact with all the content of any channel. In this case, we're going to use artificial intelligence as an example, since it's going to my channel. But you could also do exactly the same thing for channels that teach a language, countries, technical things, or any other type of content you like.
Once you have all the videos processed, you could ask it anything about the channel. For example, if I ask it to provide 10 video links, and I click send, it will automatically start processing and a few seconds later begin writing the response. This could include models like Sora, Beo, Clean, AI, Luma, Rangway, and other platforms listed below.
The best part is that each of these responses is linked to a specific video, which in my case would be a tutorial. For example, if I go to the link section and see where it came from, clicking on it will show me that it's indeed a video where I made a tutorial for that platform, and so on for any other. For example, if I click on Sora, I'll see that it retrieved the information from this Sora 2 tutorial.
Also, keep in mind that beyond extracting all the videos from a channel, you can also do it through searches. Here, for example, doing a Gmin search, if I click again on Notebook LM when selecting a new notebook, I'll see all the videos related to that specific search that interest me. Let's jump to the second use case, where we'll see how we can perform bulk imports from anywhere using another extension.
To do this, we'll need to add another extension called Notebook LM Tools, which is like an all-in-one solution, although here we'll focus on its best features. To see it, I'll click on "Add to Chrome. " And once it's installed, in addition to being able to add YouTube videos, if I were to come to any page like this news article here, by selecting the extension we just downloaded, we'd see that we could add this Notebook LM page simply by clicking here.
Another thing we could do is select the links section to extract all the links we find on this page. Specifically, we'd have more than 200 links that we could import with a single click. Keep in mind that the free versions have a limit of 50 sources, while the Pro versions have 300.
So here you could also clean up any links you want to add. For example, if you wanted to manually delete one, you could select it and click delete. But another thing you could also do is select a filter from here, such as the website's domain name or the path to the category you're interested in.
Beyond that, it's also capable of extracting all the information from all the tabs we have open. Now imagine you're browsing the internet with a bunch of tabs open, like the news feeds I have open here from different media outlets. But now, we could select this extension again and click on the tabs section.
All the tabs I have open will appear, and I can click to add them all to a new notebook in Notebook LM. It would start processing them there, and a few seconds later, they would start loading. Let's move on to the third use case, where we'll see how to create custom presentations, overcoming the limitations of Notebook LM.
To do this, we'll use two tools. First, another Google Chrome extension that will allow us to export a document from Notebook LM to any format we need. Second, we'll also use a Google presentation tool for greater control.
For this example, I'll refer back to this notebook I already created, which was about improving memory and implementing different strategies to enhance cognitive learning. From here, if I wanted to create a presentation to show somewhere, I could click on this Slightech section, and the processing would begin. The problem is that when we create this presentation and expand it, we might want to change some text or infographics on each slide.
We're essentially giving Notebook LM complete control over the presentation, but there are platforms like WellSlide that offer total flexibility in presentation settings . However, to do this, we would have to download the presentation in PowerPoint format. If I download it now, it will only be in PDF format, which is the only format I can use.
Therefore, if we install the Notebook LM Ultraporter extension, it will allow us to export any content in any format. In fact, if I go back to the same presentation now, you'll see that this new icon appears thanks to the extension. If I click on "export," it asks me if I want to export everything, and among other things, I can do so in PowerPoint format.
So I'm going to click on it. The processing will begin here, and a few seconds later I simply have to confirm. Perfect.
And as we can see in the upper right corner, we have it in PowerPoint format. Now, if we go here to Google Slides, which is Google's presentation platform, if I click on "File" here, select the "Import Slides" option, and upload the one we just downloaded in PowerPoint format (since, as you can see, we can't do that with the PDF), it will start loading. After that, I can select all the slides.
Click on "import" and they'll all be added perfectly. The best part is that even though they're in image format, we can actually modify them. If I click on any slide, we have the NanoBanana functionality.
By clicking on it, I can request any change to the image or even the entire slide. For example, if I tell it to change the title to "Alejabi's Manual for Improving Notebook LM," when I click "send," NanoBanana will start processing it, and in about 10 seconds, it will have recreated the slide with that change. Simply click here and tell it that you want to replace it.
And as you can see, everything is exactly the same, except the title has changed to "Alejabi's Manual for Improving Notebook LM. " In addition to that, keep in mind that you can add any other element, new slides, even convert them to video format, or even remove elements like watermarks. To see this example, let's go to this other slide, and as you can see, we have the Notebook LM watermark.
But from here, if I specify that it should remove the logo with the words " Notebook LM" that's in the bottom right corner, clicking "send" would have already processed it automatically. And again, if we enlarge and insert it, we'll see how this new slide doesn't have the watermark that was present in the original format. Regarding removing watermarks, there's another use case where we do it more quickly, but I want you to focus on the workflow we can create by having this entire presentation base in Notebook LM and then all the customization capabilities with Google Slides.
What we've just seen allows us to achieve good results in record time. Now, similarly, the same thing happens when we generate videos using artificial intelligence, where it's even difficult to distinguish whether it's real or created by a tool. Therefore, I want to introduce you to the new version of Top View, a platform that will allow you to create professional AI-powered videos from a single location.
Now they have the best AI-powered video generators at the click of a button. From here, you can collaborate with AI to create content, centralizing everything on a single visual dashboard. Take a look at this example.
Here, we can start with an object, a scene, and a model that could even be generated by AI. Now we could even add variations like this one, where new elements like a tiger appear. And with all this content, by clicking here, we could even transform it into video format.
We could even combine all the videos we've created to make our own commercial, like this one. Besides making professional commercials, you could also use this to showcase different products, even if the person creating the commercial isn't present, add different creative effects, or even create viral trending videos. And thanks to Top View sponsoring this video, they've given me a special link, which I'll leave in the description below, so you can try all this for yourself for free.
Now that we know this, let's move on to the next section. Let's move on to the fourth case, where we'll be removing watermarks more quickly. There are specific platforms for removing watermarks from Notebook LM.
One of these is this platform here. If we select the PDF section and then choose the PDF that we haven't previously downloaded from Notebook LM, clicking "Start removing watermark" will process it very quickly. As you can see, in just a couple of seconds, the watermarks will be removed from all the slides at once.
Another tool we could use is Magic Eraser, which is also available here and is ideal, especially if we want to modify a specific image. For this example, I'm going to upload this slide that I downloaded earlier, which, as you can see, has the watermark here. But when we open it, we can use the brush tool to mark the area we want to delete.
And if we click on "apply changes," it will be deleted a few seconds later . Let's move on to use case number five, where we'll see how we can make precise modifications to Notebook LM presentations. One of the platforms that best combines this functionality for this purpose is Canva, which is another platform we can use to import our Notebook LM presentation.
Here, I'll be using the one from use case number three. Even though it's in PDF format, Canva will convert it to a presentation format for free, keeping all the slides separate. It also has additional features that allow us to edit everything as if we had created it ourselves.
For example, imagine I wanted to modify this text, but as if it were text itself. To do this, I could click on "edit," select the "text capture" option, and it would recognize all the text on this slide. If I click on the element I want to modify and select "extract," it automatically converts it, but now it's in text format.
So, I can modify anything I want, including the text itself and even add any effects I want. A similar process works with images. If I go back to the editing section and select "magic capture," it will recognize the different elements on my slide.
Imagine I want to move this tree; I can select it, click "extract," and it will regenerate, allowing me to move it wherever I want. Keep in mind that you need the Pro version of Canva for these features. I'm not currently paying for a subscription, as they usually offer a 30-day trial.
Here, I recommend that if you take advantage of the 30-day trial, as I just did, you go to the settings section, click on billing, and it will tell you when your trial ends, which is usually around 30 days. But to avoid being charged because you might have forgotten you signed up, you can click the "cancel plan" option on the same day the trial ends. You would then proceed with the cancellation, and by doing this, you'll actually be able to continue enjoying those 30 days without it automatically renewing.
This is really worth trying, because beyond being able to make custom edits like the one we just saw, it also allows us to do things like the following use case, where we'll be creating professional content on a massive scale. For this use case—and I'll tell you right now it's one of my favorites—we'll be using this notebook here where I had different sources talking about healthy habits and tips. And now imagine that you dedicate yourself to something similar to this, whether you're a nutritionist, a trainer, or you simply help people lead healthier lives.
Well, now we're going to see how we can create a bunch of social media posts from Notebook LM along with Canvas, but automatically. To do this, all we have to do is, once we have all the information here— I did in-depth research directly from here—if we click on this feature that creates tables from the information, by clicking on the pencil icon, we could ask it, for example, to generate a two-column table where the first column is called "Healthy Habits," since I want to make posts about this, and the second column gives me a brief description with the advice we want to give. Here I'm going to ask it to give me 50 tips, although I could actually ask for more.
I'm going to click on "Generate," and a little while later, we'll have this table here, which, as you can see, would have. . .
I created that first column with the name of the healthy habit. Secondly, we would have the tip, and with all this, we could create a bunch of posts that we could publish on LinkedIn, Instagram, and so on. But we're really going to be able to automate it with Canva.
If I go back to Canva and select this templates section, you'll see that we have one here called Instagram posts. When I click on it, I'll find a lot of great designs, and to choose one as an example, I'm going to go with this one here, which I think is quite fitting for these healthy habit posts. So I'm going to select it.
Now I'm going to click on "customize this template," and from here all we can do is modify this text with one of the titles we have here. So I'm going to paste it from here. What I would do now is directly adjust the size and position so that everything looks correct.
And I'm going to do the same with the tip, so I'm going to add it here. I would have adjusted it to my design again, but be aware that I'm not talking about copying and pasting here, as that wouldn't be automation. We're actually going to connect our Canva design with the spreadsheet we have here.
To do this, all we have to do is click on the three dots, select the option to export to a spreadsheet, and then the raw data will appear: the healthy habit column, the tip, and the source column, even though we won't actually be using it. Now that the spreadsheet is open, you can click on the two columns that we're going to use. I'm going to press Ctrl+C to copy.
And from this batch creation application, although I could link it to Google Sheets, I'm going to select to paste it manually. From here, I'll press Ctrl+V to paste, and I'll have the healthy habit column and the tip as they are. If I now click "Done," the great thing is that I'll be able to link each of these variables directly to my design.
To do this, I'm going to first click on the title, right-click, select "Connect to data," and this first column corresponds to the healthy habit titles. So I'm going to click on it, and now I'm going to link the other part. To do this, I'll right-click again, select "Connect to data," and choose the tip, since all the tips will go here.
The most interesting thing is that if I now click "Continue," it will show me that I can create the 50 designs I have with all the content, so I'm going to click on "Create 50 designs," and it will tell me in a split second that it will be created here. So let's click on it, and look what we have here. In a split second, we would have all the posts for all the tips.
Here, as you can see, each one changes, since it would actually be taking each of the columns, all the way to the end. So, let's look at tip number 50, which we'll use as our final tip. Notice how we can incorporate this into our workflow to automate not only the design and creation of mass publications, but also the creation of valuable information stored in Notebook LM.
Now, let's move on to use case number seven, where we'll see how we can create these social media carousels directly from Notebook LM. To do this, we can instruct Notebook LM to act as a social media manager and generate the content for us. To illustrate this use case, I've created a new, empty Notebook LM document , and I'm going to copy and paste this text, which I'll also include in the description below.
Basically, I'm telling it to act as a creative director and content strategist so it can create all the content for me to publish on social media. So I'm going to insert it as a source of information, and once I have that, I'm going to tell you here that I want to make my sneakers, called "Zapillas," go viral, imagining that I I want to sell a product and I want you to create the content for me. So I'm going to click " send" here.
From here, you'll ask me a few more questions, so I'm going to answer some of them. I'll send it, and a little later, I'll have all the information for each of the slides in my carousel. Now, from down here, I can click "save this note," and once it's generated, I'm going to click on the three dots, "convert to source," and with it added here, I'm going to remove the instruction we didn't give before so that it only contains the information for the content we want to create.
In addition to this, I'm going to upload a photo of the product I just generated in Geminate with Nano Banana, which, as you can see, is a pair of shoes that are kind of stylish and comfortable, so I'm going to add it here. And with all this done, if I click on the presentation section, select " customize," and from here, although I could customize the focus and even the aspect ratio of the images, I'm not going to do anything. So I'm going to click on generate, and a little later, look what we have here.
If I zoom in, we have different formats, in this case, a more vertical one for social media, which talks about how to dress comfortably in the office. And if we scroll down, we'll find other slides like this one here, where I'm using the product that combines them. In this case, that half sneaker, half shoe.
And it also includes infographics as good as this one here, as if it differentiates the elegant premium leather upper from the comfortable cushioning of the sneaker part, having that hybrid design just like you saw in the photo earlier. There's even a person wearing these shoes here, and we also have the closing element with this shoe here. With this, we'll really be able to create not only presentations but also posts in that carousel format, specifying everything we want to create in the notebook.
In the instructions section, we can further specify the approach and even the format we want, and Notebook LM will handle all of that for us. Also, keep in mind that by default, you'll only be able to download this as a PDF presentation, but remember that we previously downloaded an extension that allows us to export virtually any content in any format. We can access this with the purple icon.
Again, I can select different images and download them as images. For example, if I only want to publish this first image here, I can do it from here. Let's move on to the eighth use case, where we'll be creating custom comics using the same workflow.
This one really blew my mind because it can create comics that are already famous, but we can tell it exactly what story we want it to tell. For this other case, in a similar way, we'll click on "copy text" and paste another instruction that I'll leave below in the description. Instead of creating content for social media, we'll tell it to act as a screenwriter to create our comics.
So, I'm going to click on "insert" and from the "promo" section, let's see if it surprises us. For this, I'm going to tell it that I want a Tintin comic with an adventure to prevent the Generative from taking over the world. I'm going to click on "submit.
" After this, it would have asked me more questions, which I've been answering, and after doing that, it simply generated the structure and script for one page. But if I specified here that I wanted 10 pages of comic, it would have generated everything in detail. Here, for example, we have pages with up to five panels per page and others with an average of four, so by adding it as a note and selecting only the story, if I click on the presentation section and tell it here to create the final version of the comic with the panel layout using the information from the notebook, ready to read in this Tintin style.
Click on "generate," and look what it would have done for us here. If I zoom in, it looks like a 100% Tintin comic, featuring Tintin and the Synthetic Singularity. As you can see, the characters are perfectly rendered.
As I continue, I'll start identifying the characters in this comic: Tin and Snowy, the Captain, Professor Tonnasol, and OVNIMIN, which I see here is the artificial intelligence that has decided to rewrite reality. As I continue, we can see a perfectly crafted comic. In fact, I encourage you to look at all the details, as each slide makes perfect sense.
Here we can see the dog barking. Then there's the woman who starts spying on him; Tin notices, and they start to escape after catching her, trying to figure out why she was spying on him. As we progress through the story, everything makes perfect sense, is logical, and all the slides look like they're from a real comic.
Not only that, but if I go to the last slide, it even tells me what the next story could be, although this image was also generated by artificial intelligence. And you see, even though Notebook LM isn't a tool for generating comics with artificial intelligence, I think it's safe to say that it could be one of the best at it, because instead of generating page by page or having different distortions, Notebook LM actually creates a complete story from all the pages, maintaining coherence in both the characters and the story itself. And we could do this in any style, whether it's Marvel, Mortadelo and Filemón, or any other style we want to create with our own story.
Let's jump now to use case number nine, where we'll see how we can create custom folders for all the notebooks we have in the tool, since Notebook LM is a platform that unifies information very well, but the notebooks don't allow categorization in any way. But we have a solution for that, which is this other extension here called Folder II. This extension—keep in mind there are several of them, but after trying almost all of them , this one does it best.
To see if that's the case, I'm going to click "Add to Chrome. " And now that it's installed, notice what happens when I go back to Notebook LM. It's very well integrated; notice how we have a new area here called "My Folders," and down here I have all the notebooks in my account, which, as you can see, are quite a few.
I can't organize them in any way, but now with this extension, I can click to create a new folder. Here I could add, for example, a category like " Technology. " I give it an icon like this satellite here, a color like blue.
I click "Create," and I have this folder, just like in Notebook LM. Now, from here, I can drag all the notebooks I want to add to that section. And as you can see, it tells me that we already have the three notebooks I just dragged.
If I click on it, they 'll all appear here perfectly organized, and I'll be able to see them both in list format and again in that notebook view. Only now, we'll be able to categorize them with as many blocks as we need. With this, we can say goodbye to the clutter that arises when we create many notebooks in Notebook LM.
Now, extensions like these allow us to create categories and associate all our notebooks with a single click. Let's finish with the penultimate use case, where we'll see how we can connect Notebook LM with Gemini. While Notebook LM can certainly create a lot of content, there are other things we can't do, such as creating code to generate our own applications.
Something we can do directly in Gemini. And from here, keep in mind that we have an official link, because if we click on the "Attach" section, you'll see that we can select this Notebook LM option. Clicking on it will display all the notebooks we have.
If I select any of them, like this one about healthy habits and tips we created earlier, clicking "add" will tell it to create an application that helps me maintain truly healthy habits. If I click on the tools section, select "canvas," and then click "submit," Gemini will start generating all the code, taking into account all the information from our notebooks. In this case, it says it will generate an application called "biorhythms.
" And indeed, a little later, we would have this application, which not only considers eating habits but also factors like sunlight, nature pills, avoiding sugar, blocking blue light, and doing functional exercise. With this, we would have an application that keeps track of good habits, and we could interconnect all this knowledge and use it with applications we can create directly in Gemini for our personal use. Keep in mind that Yeminite also offers the functionality to add artificial intelligence simply by clicking this button here.
And just like that, a second later we'd have a very similar application, only now it includes artificial intelligence. For example, here I see a biorhythmic advisor section, and if I click on regenerate, it seems to be giving us different tips on the subject. And also, right down here, we'd have one to ask anything.
Let's take, for example, this question about why the red light helps, so I've just written it here, I'm going to click send. And just like that, a second later we'd have that answer right here with all the details about why the red light helps. Regarding this Notebook LM integration with Gemini, keep in mind that I already have this video here where I talked about many other use cases.
Let's finish with use case number 11, where we'll be using Google Antigravity to automatically control our notebooks . To do this, I've come to the Google Antigravity platform, which I'll also link below in the description. If I click on the "open agent manager" option, I can ask it anything, like, "Hey, tell me what my last three notebooks created in Notebook LM are.
" I stop the recording, send it, and from here I can see how it would have connected via MCP to Notebook LM. I'd see the entire list of notebooks I have, and seconds later, I'd already have those last three notebooks we created: the one about the master protocol for comic book scripts and architecture, the one related to digital creations (which are the latest examples we've done), and another one about artificial intelligence. Beyond just viewing them, we could even create actions in bulk, such as generating infographics, images, presentations, audio files, or even more notebooks.
To see this example, I'm going to record again and ask it to do that. Look, I'm researching artificial intelligence and I'd like you to create three different notebooks for me, one for each vertical of generative AI. In the first, I'd like you to cover information about LLMs.
In the second, creative AI tools, such as video and image generation. And in the third, everything related to automation with platforms that allow me to interconnect them to automate my day. Okay, I'm going to send you that recording, and a little later we can see how I'd be working, having first started researching these three topics, and then creating the notebooks and adding all the valuable information and URLs I find.
Going to the LLM notebook, we can indeed find these three new notebooks, which I'd be editing and adding information sources to. And here, as you can see, we have both the fundamentals and trends of LLMs, Another one focuses on automation, just as we requested, and finally, we have another on Generative Automation with image and video creation. With this, we're no longer just talking about using Notebook LM to streamline our daily tasks; we can even have agents handle this.
Keep in mind that I was able to do this because, as we saw in this video, I demonstrated how to connect Notebook LM via MCP with Google Antigravity, allowing us to automate practically everything. As we just saw, the Notebook LM notebooks contain a wealth of information that, when combined with other tools, allows us to execute different actions. This is very similar to the knowledge that resides in our minds, but when combined with action, it's what makes dreams come true.
