right here we have with us a label manager uh mr tidy himself ali haslam there he is hard house hero that sort of hero how you enjoying the weekenders so far very good thank you very much well that's a lie because we're actually filming it a week before so you're lying to me you told me this is recorded a week before and it's lying straight away right you need potting for that it's a bad shot okay question one which i actually wrote myself and you spelt rob as well i spelt it wrong how long have
you been djingly i've been djing for nearly five years amadeus fair enough [Laughter] i'm bored with that question two andy answer that phone somebody uh it's my question of louis how do you get involved with tidy tracks really this is quite fond of myself it does indeed um as you know a colleague of mine and friend steve longley was working for the music factory at the time yes and uh he told me that there was a job going for mastermix which of course you what you were both involved in before megamix is for djs basically
i came in had a meeting with your good self turned you down the first time was it was it i'm looking did i explain why because the same friend that introduced you in front introduced another guy was a complete pratt so i just thought this guy's not mentioning his name no no this guy is not good so anyway so i said kindly said not today thanks you're nice lad thoughts you had a bad haircut at the time yeah it's all over the place worse than fosters so anyway um you um you started coming out around
uh yeah i started frequenting the place at the time doncaster doncaster warehouse where i was resident in there for two years and um then we kissed we did i drove you when you were very drunk on that you were talking about the stars i think you were at the time and um the next day you were dropped me back in again didn't you and then because you came in with me we went upstairs and you got the job the next day i didn't catch that's not true i'm married i'm a very straight man and then
i started doing master mixers and then basically worked my way up the ladder in fact you started running tidy management the very original time i did yes representing the tiny boys what was it like though because obviously you were just a sort of dj that was just playing local clubs and then all of a sudden you crept in the tidy door how was it like um i remember some some of the message boards and that's and there's a bit of you know jealousy that the fact that you're working for tidy and djing and then maybe
get a few more bookings and it's always a difficult role to play did you find that at the beginning yeah obviously i mean because for a lot of people it's such a big thing to work at target i mean for me to come from what my background who i mean i never ever set out to be a dj or to work for tire tracks it just actually naturally happens so i mean you always think oh god i'm the luckiest man alive which you know i consider myself that i am so what were you doing before
you were dj tell the ladies and gentlemen boys and girls that's it do i have to yeah yeah well i'm actually a qualified nursery teacher which i did for four years children children yeah there you go no jokes please no jokes not about you are you changing nappies yes good boy marks brilliant boys first started but but i think it's worth pointing out that when lee started it wasn't just a case of here's the tidy badge going wearing it yeah yeah i think it was a long period of time before you officially went out as
a tidy track dj yeah which i think is important because you stood up there on your own merit as a very very good dj thank you very much well you're all right i think it got worse yeah anyway question sorry it's your turn to ask 193 yeah because what is your favorite tiny tracks tune link um ever ever signaling what you got for me really yeah boy um because it just reminds me of uh sunny central when he was at europa and leeds and hearing tony the replay for the first time just because tony devi
was quite inspired by that track a lot a lot of people don't realize you know occasionally you get slagged off for a sort of playing and producing tracks they've got big risks but a lot of people don't realize that you know tony's biggest tune is box before he died was actually signum and when he went in to do the dawn and produce it in the studios he was quite inspired by that track so interesting fact number 79 that's a very good one so number four how would you describe your style of music you know as
you said what you play rather than what you produce um what i play a lot of love is like the harder trance the german sound really um i mean i've gone through a bit of a change within the last six or seven months where i went from playing the hard house stuff and i really just wasn't it wasn't working for me personally anymore so i wanted to be a bit more different and try some different sounds out and really that's that's what i settled with now so trance but not really driving pumping stuff yeah good
german affair indeed question five andy it's a difficult one think about this one thing okay if you fell over on your way to work and got your hands covered in grass would you a go home and wash them or b wait till you got to work and wash them in the toilets what would you do not actual toilet but in the toilets where do you get these questions from it's an important question they said they're all these were from these fans would you go home would you go so just imagine though you've got all that
still before i got in my car i would get i would wash my hands at home if there's grit in there and everything a little bit of blood painful you're over halfway to work you know what i mean you're about four miles from from work well maybe stop to a petrol station i'd well i'd watch the petrol station brilliant good answer good answer uh thank you to leaves just there thank you thank you what would you like me to do what are likely to do we're 30 seconds we spoke about this earlier uh you've got
30 seconds what we do at the end of the interviews is we give the uh the gentleman sitting to my left uh we'll give him 30 seconds to talk about something and it's chickens right without without stopping laughing will you show cause i've brought me some little props with me yeah but can i show these after you've done it because it wastes a couple of three two one go chickens when i used to we used to young i used to go down to see my auntie in stratfor navy had a farm and she had 500
chickens which i used to help her feed in the summer and my favorite one which is in the picture was actually called charlie and unfortunately it got in the way of um tractor one day got run over and then went to kfc and somebody ate it which was probably you amazed because she eat lots of kfc's and mcdonald's and that's longer than 30 seconds struggling and there you go that's 30 seconds i must admit that was the longest 30 seconds of my life for you me too that was boring but yes you've had you've actually
brought in some pictures of you with chickens and uh hold on to the camera there very bad haircuts that's that's you when you're 14 four four i see when you're four and that one when he's four as well so thank you very much lee for joining us and we can we're going to see it later on thank you stay with us i hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend thanks cheers
